How can I get the blocking number feature to stay after restart?

Hi Roslyn,

By default the NUM LOCK status remains the same, because when you turn off the computer. If it is on when you shut it down it will be on when you turn on the computer again.

You must change the InitialKeyboardIndicators value for 2 to 0 to have the Num Lock key on after restart.

Note: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Follow these steps to resume and restore the registry.

a. go to The start screen and type regedit.

b. Select regedit and then right click on the screen.

c. click on run as administrator.

d. find and click on the key or the subkey that you want to back up.

e. click on the file menu and then click export.

f. in the area Save in , select the location where you want to save the backup copy to, and then type a name for the backup file in the file name box.

g. click Save.

You can also activate the number lock from the BIOS.

Warning: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Follow these steps to do so.

a. press F12 or F10 to enter in the Start Menu.

Note: It may be different. You need to check on the first display screen.

b. in the Menu of Boot Device , select the System Configuration

(c) in the left side of the screen, expand the category behavior POST

d. search for Num Lock key option

e. press enter , and then make the changes to turn on the Num Lock or

f. Exit and restart the computer.

  • Win 7 64 bit: FF updates after 34.0.5 does not

After the upgrade to 35.0 does not work on my system, I went to the manual upgrade. I tried the first upgrade (35.0) several times - I got a screen that was the right shape for the way the browser had watched (see first image), but nothing worked, not even the link modules in the main menu. Then I 'upgraded' back to 34.0.5. Then, when 35.1 came out, tried again with a lot of hope that it works now. Not so; same results. So I reinstalled 34.0.5 new and expected. Now, 36.1 appeared and tried again. Same story with a slightly different twist. This time the link modules worked so I could try to disable some of them. I tried to disable all those that I don't mind not seen, including those that seemed related to bookmarks (which seems to be the main point of friction), but who don't seem to have any effect. The second image is all my modules at this time; the third shows the Add-ons, I turned off to see if I could do v.36.1 work. Then I reactivated them pending a general assessment of their value to me has not changed.

I tried google searches as well as pages of Mozilla support to research and you haven't found another instance of this. I find it really amazing if I'm the only one who had this problem. But whatever it is, whether they are known or new, I'd appreciate it surely some guidance as to what I should do next. I'm not comfortable as the version that works gets longer away the current (presumable more secure) version.

I had no problem with my WAG160N when you use a computer for Win XP 32 bit fast but after the failure of its motherboard, I decided to replace it with a new Win 7 64 bit system.  But I now find that if the WAG160N still works ok I can't re - install through the Wizard (it stops with "Error 302 internal error") to the last step in configuring and I can't reinstall LELA - he tries but finally stops with a presenter of the box which calls for "an X 86 processor.  My new Dell desktop and Dell laptop wireless cable can still work satisfactorily through the WAG160N but I would make sure the WAG160N has in fact been set up correctly and would have LELA there for the info handy additional system it provides.

  • iTunes - stay on Win 7 64 bit upgrade, win 10 64-bit

I am running Win 7 64 bit on an older PC (disputed material 4 GB memory limitation). I have an iPhone TO an ipad mini and an old ipad.

Specifically regarding iTunes - should I stay with what works fine now (Win 7 64-bit) or take advantage of the free upgrade (?) to win 10 64 bit.

Yes, I know... a little late to ask this question. I keep procrastinating.  I search for related positions, did not find anything that general.

If you decide to improve see your iTunes backup for Windows with SyncToy library for a backup plan proposed. iTunes seems does not fare terribly well during an upgrade on Windows 10 site so it might be an idea to uninstall all Apple software before upgrading, and then reinstall later. • Hi, XI - Win 7 64 bit.  AR prints only the even numbers when I allowed of the odd numbers only :-(

    Hi hope you can help.

AC' reader XI (win 7 64 bit).   I expected that a series of pages of odd number only, but only prints even numbers.

Tried several sets of tests, but still prints even pages.   It is a PDF of a new Casio keyboard manual from their site.  I can read

the PDF on my computer and can print single pages, but the above problem is disconcerting.  ~ Thank you if you can offer any help.

    see you soon

Thanks, MVP for your quick response.

Yes, I tried now opt to print even pages only in the range of 1 to 8 and now it prints the odd numbers. Hey Hey

Well, for the sake of my sanity, I'll take a break for some sponge cold and some chanting and then return refreshed.

EDIT - SOME TIME LATER: well, thanks for any help, greatly appreciated.

Now I see what the problem is, thanks for the explanation page numbers cordially.

Looks like Adobe Reader made its own system of numbering pages before printing.

Would have liked to wear to try, but did not want to destroy half of a forest.   Presented the PDF document on the local printer instead. quite.  :-)

Very much appreciate your help. Think I'll stay for the simple printing of the page (no double-sided) in the future.  See you soon.

  • Problems with downgrade to 8.1 Win to Win 7 64 bit on Satellite S70 - A - 11 H

    Hello

My daughter already has a laptop Tosh with Win 7 64 bit that is several years old and has seen better days, so for Christmas I he bought a new laptop of S70 - A - 11 am with Win 8.1 pre-installed.
She hates. In fact she won't use the new laptop at all unless it has Win 7 on it.

For people who do not use a tablet or phone Windows phone and as desktop printing Windows 8 machine does not work for us.

Now I am working in a niche THIS role using many OS such as Microsoft Windows (XP, Win7, Server 2003, Server 2008) and Solaris, as well as a bit of RedHat.

Now, my experience of Win8 is equal to zero.
I thought it would be simple enough to install a copy at retail of Win7 with SP1 64 bit on this laptop.
Not so easy as it turns.

When I boot from the Windows 7 install DVD, the installer crashes as the Windows 7 logo begins to appear on the screen. If I try an installation with the latest driver safe mode which seems to load whenever the lock up is disk.sys.

So the question is how to install Win 7 64 bit SP1 on this notebook using a copy of Win7 retail?

Any ideas would be very appreciated.

    > If anyone else is interested the issue is caused by the use of left GPT on version 8.1.

Thank you very much for us to share this detail.
This could be very useful and interesting for others here in this community.

    Thanks again for your comments!

  • Satellite Pro S300-121: Installation of Win 7 64-bit: Yes or no

I have win7 32 bit on my Satellite Pro S300-121.
I have 4 GB of ram installed.
Should I install the 64 bit version, or I will not see any difference in speed?

I know I have to do a clean install, but is it useful for S300-121 all pros and cons anyway, your thoughts

    Hello
Your laptop has been equipped with 4 GB of RAM.
But Win 32 bit can handle only 3.2 GB. So this could be a key reason to switch to Win 7 64 bit OS because the 64-bit would recognize the full 4 GB of RAM.
But if you use programs and the software that is compatible only with the 32-bit system, then I would recommend staying with Win 7 32 bit OS.
But new software can be installed on 32-bit and 64-bit systems

  • Re: NB550D with win 7 64 bit

    I recently bought a NB550D with c-50.

There are several discussions around the internet and here about the upgrades. It seems that the 2 are the main challenges or desired things to do with this laptop with equal challenges.
1 put level memory to 4 GB
    2 install win 7 64 bit.

I decided to embark on the two, so here I will try to summarize what I have done or have been done to help others who would like to do a similar thing:

    1 memory

In summary, it seems that the laptop can use speed of DDR3-1066 DDR3-1066 and DDR3-1333. People report that kingston modules have no problem.
After reading many forums, I decided to buy Kingston DDR3-1333 memory since the 1066 kingston was not available in the shop, I visited.
I installed it and works well in the original operating system (started) and Ultimate 64 bit (ongoing). The difference is night and day.

    2 Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

After reading around in the forums, it is clear that people have issues with drivers and especially display drivers. Here's what I did so far, although I'm still updating the drivers:

1 downloaded the driver realtek Lan here:

    http://www.Realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=14&PFID=7&level=5 & Conn = 4 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false

I downloaded the driver only "Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 pilot' version 7.049

(to be edited later need to rush... :))

Can you please send number of exact model of your NB? I just want you check the specs to see what is the maximum RAM for it.

Maybe a stupid question now but is there so special reason why you want to have the Ultimate version? You are not satisfied with the original preinstalled OS?

  • Satellite Pro L550 - 17U PSLW9E - question of the HARD Win 7 64 bit disk recovery

    Hello

Basically, when I got the laptop it had Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit installed.
I created the backup disks, as asked it the first got scratched and gets stuck on the installation, I can install the 32-bit version (the CD it came with) and I tried to create a new 32-bit system recovery disk but it creates just a 32 bit recovery disc (which I already had the appropriate drive).

Just to see if there is a way to restore the 64-bit system without having to buy a new version of windows?

    Satellite Pro L550-17U
    Part number: PSLW9E-01500MEN
    Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit authentic (pre-installed, Toshiba-HDD recovery) and
    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 32-bit (Toshiba-Recovery DVD)

    Hello

You reinstalled the operating system using the Toshiba Recovery disk which contained the Win 7 32-bit operating system. The recovery of 32 bit Win7 has formatted the whole HARD disk and has deleted all partitions (recovery partition HARD drive containing too many Win 7 64 bit OS)! and replaced with Win 7 32 bit.
This means that Win 7 64 bit is no longer available on the HARD disk.

In my opinion, there is nothing to do you will need to order new Win 7 64 bit recovery disc.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite P500 PSPE8A - Number lock is stuck

I recently bought a Satellite P500 PSPE8A-01R002 and the number lock is stuck and does not allow the use of the numeric keypad.
I have read other similar posts on this forum about the number lock being stuck and the given solution is to download the update of the BIOS.

When I go to the download page and enter the details of the laptop, a BIOS update for Vista 32 bit is available to be downloaded.
Can you advise what download will get out of the lock number.

    Hi mate

Where you look for the update of the BIOS?
This seems to be an Australian series for Toshiba laptop.
You will need to search on the Australian driver Toshiba for the BIOS page.

In addition, intimate case of BIOS is OS independent. Therefore, it should be possible to update also using Vista OS
