Problems with downgrade to 8.1 Win to Win 7 64 bit on Satellite S70 - A - 11 H

Hello

My daughter already has a laptop Tosh with Win 7 64 bit that is several years old and has seen better days, so for Christmas I he bought a new laptop of S70 - A - 11 am with Win 8.1 pre-installed.
She hates. In fact she won't use the new laptop at all unless it has Win 7 on it.

For people who do not use a tablet or phone Windows phone and as desktop printing Windows 8 machine does not work for us.

Now I am working in a niche THIS role using many OS such as Microsoft Windows (XP, Win7, Server 2003, Server 2008) and Solaris, as well as a bit of RedHat.

Now, my experience of Win8 is equal to zero.
I thought it would be simple enough to install a copy at retail of Win7 with SP1 64 bit on this laptop.
Not so easy as it turns.

When I boot from the Windows 7 install DVD, the installer crashes as the Windows 7 logo begins to appear on the screen. If I try an installation with the latest driver safe mode which seems to load whenever the lock up is disk.sys.

So the question is how to install Win 7 64 bit SP1 on this notebook using a copy of Win7 retail?

Any ideas would be very appreciated.

> If anyone else is interested the issue is caused by the use of left GPT on version 8.1.

Thank you very much for us to share this detail.
This could be very useful and interesting for others here in this community.

Thanks again for your comments!

    Thank you.

Start the PC and read the information on the Welcome screen.

It should tell you which key press to the start menu.

On Dell PCs it's F12 on my HP business overall it's F9 of the PC.

Otherwise, press the F10 key, go into the BIOS and change the boot menu to boot from the USB device first.

  • I'm having a problem with lightroom 5.7.1 running on windows 8 64-bit.

I'm having a problem with lightroom 5.7.1 running on windows 8 64-bit. Whenever we try to open the computer software crashes, we deleted the lock file and reset suggestions as suggested, without success. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the software without success, still the same problem of crash

If all of the computer crashes, it's a hardware malfunction or a bad/corrupt/old video driver.

First install/reinstall the latest driver for your graphics card. If this does not help, then you need run diagnostics on your hard drive, memory and also make sure that the fans are cooling the CPU correctly.

I have an external monitor attached and get the same problem with or without him. I have tired the driver of toshiba and intel driver.

It seems to go away if I have windows min and max, but sometimes it doesn't. If I run my mouse an affected area, that it seems in trouble and sometimes it's not all screen.

    A refresh solves it.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    > I have an external monitor attached and get the same problem with or without him.
Maybe I m wrong but in most cases if these symptoms are seen on the two displays (internal & external) then a graphics chip could be affected
It would be the worst case, because that would mean that the motherboard needs to be replaced

But just a question; have you noticed that using the previous Windows OS preinstalled by maybe Toshiba (Win XP or Vista), you must install the image of Toshiba again to verify if this display problem is still visible

  • Problem with the tool move? (Win 7)

On Photoshop CS4, whenever I select the move tool and decide to move an object in a layer, it moves the object off the screen, making it difficult to bring the canvas to move. I know he's not jumping the layers, because only the object within a single layer, I moved, but I'm the only one who has this problem? How should I do?

He has only this problem with the tool move, but with scrolling text, text tools tool and the Brush tool, as well. The text tool jump out of the screen and the marquee tool would position the tent somewhere else when I clicked on it to be the Brush tool sometimes jumped on the outline of the brush. Can anyone help?

Market and stop over the years, I found that Photoshop itself could corrupt if used for a long time.  Or he might not.

That's how (or if) it does seems to vary depending on other factors.  With some display drivers, for example, sometimes much more.  A particularly frustrating event is when Photoshop just stops where you try a file - save as.  Another, quite common, is that multiple instances of Community Help just start to open jerky.  But probably no matter much what look like symptoms; the source of the corruption, which has been expired for a long time.

I don't think that it's just a problem, either, but probably several - at least a part of which are due to bugs in the drivers.  From time to time, we hear about specific versions of display drivers, for example, that have been seen to increase the likelihood of corruption.  And some, like ATI Catalyst 11.7 earlier this year, seem to minimize problems.

What I don't know, because I don't use a Mac, is whether the same situation exists on this side of the fence.  In my heart of hearts, I suspect that it does.  Maybe it has to do with models of memory used under the covers.

I * CAN * tell you that CS6 is not available yet.

Have you tried a few different brands of media? Sometimes the burner just don't like some discs. If so, the only thing I can think of to try is to boot from a Linux Live USB and see if it can burn DVDs from a Linux program as k3b for burning. That solve a software problem (Windows).

  • problem with to get CS3 to work under windows 7 64-bit

My old XP computer (that I had installed CS3) died and I bought a HP laptop with win 7 64 bit preinstalled. During the installation of CS3, about 75%, a warning has popped up that says "adobepdf.dll is needed, pls insert CD vista". Given that I don't have vista and I'm under win 7, I hit ca

Once installation is complete. When I tried to open Photoshop and acrobat, the program tried to load (I could see the gray screen of photoshop, but not logo) and would become 'unresponsive' almost immediately and just at a standstill. With illustrator and indesign, I see even any screen, as if the computer just ignored me. However, under the tab "processes" in the Task Manager, I could see the .exe files listed as 'process', but nothing in the "applications" tab I checked the memory and it is obvious that the memory use has increased once tried to open applications. It looks like apps take memory but has not appeared. The only program that runs successfully is the bridge.

  • Portege R830 - problems of 3G connection after installing Win 7 32 bit

    Hello

I went down a Portege R830 Windows 7 64 bit for Windows 7 32 bit with drivers of Toshiba. I put a SIM from my provider.
In the windows Network Manager, 7 and in the Toshiba Wireless Manager I can see the right provider and HSPA network but when I start the connection, it does not (I don't have a PIN code).

It is failed with Windows 7 Network Manager and Manager Toshiba wireless (I don't have this problem with the Portege R700 windows 7 32bits)

But I found a small solution (but I think that's not enough):
    I have created a dial-up connection, with a number * 99 #,.
I started the connection, it does not happen, but after that, when I raise my first connection is good.

I don't know why, it's as if the modem is in sleep and the dial-up connection wake-up the modem, because after all is good (win7 Network Manager, Manager wireless Toshiba) so if I reboot the Portege.

I want to avoid the dial-up connection on my r700 portege with 32-bit windows 7

Thanks for your help and sorry for my English.

  • Creation of recovery Win 7 64 bit for Satellite L500-19 x disc?

    My new Satellite L500 - 19 X came pre-installed with Win 7-64 bit version.
Also includes a "product recovery Win 7 32 bit" disc

Inside of the package a brochure said:

"If you plan to use 64-bit at a later stage, please create a _recovery medium_ before installing Windows 7 32 bit"

He then warns me to create a "medium recovery 64-bit... you are ordering that 64-bit recovery media is not free."

The manual goes long on "_System Recovery Options" as stated in the manual I did a "Windows 7 64 bit repair disc" can I say that I don't have or can't have a real Win 7 64 bit disc?

The brochure says "a backup copy (file Win 7 64-bit) is stored on the hard drive as a _recovery image_" so is this the real Win 7 64 bit full disk that I'm after, and if so how do I get it?

Toshiba documentation is not clear, and I think rather contradicts itself?

I'm confused! Someone at - he understands what's going on?

    JohnF.

    Hello

If I understand correctly, you have received the laptop pre-installed with Win 7 64 bit OS.
But you didn t get the drive recovery Win 7 64 bit, but you have a Win 7 32 bit recovery disc. Is this good?

Matt good the case is that the use of the recovery disk will format the entire HARD drive and will erase everything from the HARD drive. This means that you will lose the Win 7 64 bit OS preinstalled.
So if you would not create the recovery disk Win 7 64 bit before using the Win 7 32 bit recovery disc, then you will not be able to go back to the 64-bit version.

Therefore, create the Win 7 64 bit recovery disc at the beginning. So you are safe and can install Win 32-bit and 64-bit when you want.
