Number of users of Oracle Application Server

Hello
How to set the value of number of Oracle Application Server users.

Hello
Yes, the httpd.conf file will help there, location ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf
its better to make a backup of the original file and then make specific changes
There are various settings in the file httpd.conf as follows

Timeout: the number of seconds before receives and sends time out.

KeepAlive: whether persistent connections (more than one request per connection). "Off" position to turn off.

MaxKeepAliveRequests: the maximum number of queries during a persistent connection. Set to 0 to allow unlimited. We recommend that you leave this number high, for maximum performance.

for example: MaxKeepAliveRequests 100

KeepAliveTimeout: Number of seconds to wait for the next request from the
same client on the same connection.

For more information about the httpd.conf file, see the link below

    Hi all

If someone please tell me the main difference between the costume of developer and Oracle Application Server.

I will be very thank ful.

    Thank you

    Hina.

You would need an application to host the application, but each user could access this application using a browser. So the obligation for each user is simply a browser with an appropriate Sun JRE installed - this JRE (if not already installed) can be configured to be automatically downloaded and installed on the client from the application server.

  • Oracle Application Server is Weblogic Server?

After almost 2 years of struggle, I was able to persuade our management move to IBM's websphere server Oracle servers. With the benefits that I have pointed out during the final debate, they agreed to choose Oracle as the future of our Bank. (We are currently using Oracle database 10g and Warehouse Builder, but not other products). The conclusion of the meeting Oracle Weblogic server was proposed to buy.

    Reasons:

    1. business assistance failed to implement our development environment to use JSF2.0 without any problem.
2 IBM cool a large sum of money for licenses of RAD (which is the only IDE that can be used to develop applications for server Websphere)
    3. because they don't offer any express Edition (free) of these tools, we cannot move forward with R & d (we are limited)

    1. as developer J is free and Netbeans also supports Weblogic server, we have no restrictions on the use of these tools in the IDE. (reduce costs)
    2. given that Netbeans IDE is frequently updated with the latest technologies, we will not be limited to any version of technology or it is specified
    3. personally, I think that Oracle community forum also much richer than IBM support has paid a pension from the company. (I had to wait almost 3 and 1/2 months to get the first response to a question about changing IBM has BEEN political 7 server class loader. "But I never waited on this community forum Oracle more than 5 minutes or a few browser refreshes to any of my questions).

Because of these reasons and more than a few reasons, our management decided to move to Oracle weblogic server. For now I'm the only Oracle fan in our Bank of sdf (Sri Lanka) THIS Department, I was struggling to make this decision for a long time. I introduced the Oracle tools such as developer SQL & maker of data to our team members and discouraged using any other tools from 3rd party (including cracked software, which we are not allowed to use). So now I'm happy because what I did was not for nothing and became successful, finally.

But I still haven't any idea if Oracle Application Server and Oracle Weblogic Server are the same or different servers. So please help me to get confirmed, and I appreciate if you can tell me what are the differences between these two (if these two names do not represent the same server).

    Thank you.

    Nightbeat,
Looks like you put a lot of work into your proposal.
In my opinion, I would stick with Oracle WebLogic Server because it's strategic server platform to proceed for JEE6. WebLogic 10.3.4.0 is compliant JEE5 but also supports most JEE6 specification of the API as a JPA 2.0, JSF 2.0 and JAX - RS 1.1 (not to mention executives like consistency 3.6 and Spring 3.0 - where the spring can be used instead of the Web Profile missing including EJB 3.1 Lite). SV which includes OC4J can support the latter with additional configuration except for details such as $proxy JEE6 level code injection.
Criticism issue I see is the container API dependency injection managed as JTA transactions and plant persistence JPA management in EJB session beans. OC4J that the DI engine has not been updated as the spring according to engine DI in WebLogic must be able handle the new JEE5 and JEE6 proxies for these objects.

    Thank you

Well, everything you see on this page are different for different components of the OAS 10g Release 3.

Before you download one in particular, I would say that you read on what item are you looking from where it would be suitable to your needs.
Web Center (Suite, framework, Interaction etc.) is such a component, which is the category of CM and Web 2.0 applications and User Interaction.

  • Business Publisher in Oracle Application Server

    Hello

I'm looking to deploy the BPA business editor (10.1.3.4) on a 10.1.3.4 Oracle application server and I have very little instructions or documentation on how to undertake this task.

Installation of BPA and State Administration guides that you are using an Oracle Application Server is a supported configuration for the Publisher of Business with little or no information on how to do this!

I managed to deploy and configure, to the best of my knowledge, the businesspublisher.war as well as its sources of required data, changes DAO, etc..

I can access the interface of web Publisher Business and its shows no export existing currently.

I try to add the new Oracle based Publisher Business Server applications server to my Business Architect Editor (i.e., but it keeps failing to connect and BPA hangs until I have the strength that it ends!)

I see that the BPA repository host establishes a connection with the host business editor IDE oucederomsurlesecondport 17059 (the default port), but nothing else happens.

    [oracle@***]$ netstat - a |] grep 17059
    TCP 0 0 *: 17059 *: * LISTEN
    TCP 111 0 host.domain:17059 host.domain.:2519 ESTABLISHED

I have undertaken a number of successful installation, deployment and exports BPA to Business Editor using TomCat on Windows, Linux and SUN, but have now ceased completely on how to undertake this on Oracle Application Server.

Can someone point me in the direction of any documentation or information on how to accomplish this task?

    John

There is a document which provides the installation for OAS called Oracle + EPS + Suite + 10.pdf that was sent to us by Oracle.

Not sure where to find documentation in there, but it offers instructions for deploying the war to the United Nations. There are also some files that need to be configured so that it works as well.

I would like to upload on this ticket, but do not see anywere for that.

Let me know if you can't find it, and I can send it to you. [email protected]

  • Oracle Application Server 10g cloning - Urgent

    Hi all
I received a new assignment, which involves Oracle 10g application server, I am new to oracle application server and hoping that someone will specify please my doubts.

I clone a production machine (Solaris 10), which has oracle 10 g, this machine was Oracle database 10g before and just the application server has been installed on this subject, I need to clone a test environment for this machine, I have two following doubts

    (1) is it possible to install just Oracle Application server 10 g on a computer that already contains the database oracle 10 g, in the affirmative, whereas on the database that is installed when you install the Oracle 10 g application server.

    (2) how to clone the machine of production above, the oracle 10 g database can we clone first, and then the application oracle 10 g cloned on the new server machine?

    (1) Yes, it is possible. The DB that comes with the OAS, as DB infrastructure for it (I assume that you install a full OAS with infrastructure and environments times) does not affect the DB that you already have on your system... of course... as long as install you them in their separate homes.

    (2) I always say, the term cloning is used a bit loosely, in the sense of general communication making copies. In the context of the OAS, cloning works for middletiers only. You can't clone an infrastructure.

To make an alternate/redundant environment for the OAS, you can proceed as follows:
(- a) is using the same infra on computer 1 and install another high and register with the same infra.
    (b) or to install another infra on machine 2, and also an environments registered with it.

Here for the first option (a), cloning can be used because you can (* only *) clone an intermediate layer. There are advantages and disadvantages of this facility, including that you share the SSO and OID, and therefore the users and the groups of bases, etc. on these two environments - something you can or don't want to. But then, there are also a few outputs so as to avoid or minimize their effects too. Please see the following reference for cloning and research on Metalink to minimize the effects, once you get more familiar with the process.

    [11 staged from a Test to a Production environment | http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/core.1012/b13995/prodtest.htm]

There are a few notes on Metalink related questions about benefits or procedures for cloning and staging of an environment too.
There are other ways for export/transport your applications to another instance through DB. Please also read about them.

    hope that helps!

  • creating reports using oracle application server

    Hi all

I am a complete newbie with Oracle Application Server (OAS) and Oracle reports. My task is to generate HTML and PDF using OAS reports. The current application has an aspx (ASP.NET front end) pages that call third party fast Radar report tool that retrieves data according to the need of the user (such as month, day, year,... product name) and displays as a grid. I have to remove the FastRadar part and use the OAS OracleAS reports Services components to generate these reports

I went through Chapter 12 of Oracle.Application.Server.10g.Essentials by OReilly 2004 edition

She looks briefly by this part. But it seems to mention the subject of Oracle reports something like "reports Oracle has an interface based on an Assistant called Oracle Reports Developer who can create reports. Oracle Reports Developer is part of the Oracle Developer Suite. Reports created with Oracle Reports Developer can be deployed on the Web using OracleAS reports Services support in Oracle Application Server. »

I'm not clear what to do. I have to create the report format in Oracle Reports using frontend based on a wizard called Oracle Reports Developer and deploy it by using OracleAS reports Services?

Or, is it possible to create the report format with Services of OracleAS reports without using Oracle Reports. We said that we just installed OAS, don't know if Oracle reports is installed or not as it is done at a remote site.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

We must develop reports using Oracle Reports developer and then deploy to the application server. To do this, you need following Developer installed Oracle, it has wizards that can be used to prepare reports.

Default password for user 'oc4jadmin! I'm not aware of this user in 10.1.2.x, maybe there's one of OC4J side but not otherwise. If you are looking for credentials to connect to OracleAS controls (EM), the username is "ias_admin" and password is the one you specified during the installation. There is no default password. • Upgrading Oracle 11 g in Oracle Application Server 10 g application server?

    Hello

I use Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.31) now, and I want to upgrade to server applications Oracle 11 g, how do I do now?

I'm not OAS11g, but I find 11g Oracle Weblogic (10.1.36), they are same?

If they are same, I need to download weblogic 11g directly, or is it to be directly upgraded package?

    Thank you

    Hello

You can install Weblogic directly and redeploy your Application in Weblogic.

Because if you have a SOA in 10.1.3.1 then there are separate steps and if you have only OC4J, so there are different steps to install 11 g.

    Kind regards

  • Oracle Application Server 10g R3 with patch set 10.1.3.5.0

    Hi all

Can someone help me on this point, when I install Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) and patch set 10.1.3.5.0 on Linux. I'm not able to find the container forms and reports.

This version does not support forms and the States or I go what OAS 10 g R2 (10.1.2.0.2) with the patch set 3 (10.1.2.3.0). What is the difference between these two versions.

    Please help me.

    Kind regards

    Hi James,

First of all forms and reports are only available in OAS 10 g 2 (10.1.2.0.2) and you would go to the latest version in gr 10, 2 which is 10.1.2.3.

The Oracle Application Server 10 g 3 version is a limited edition and SOA and OC4J components.

So if you need to forms and reports, you must make 10 gr 2 OAS.

    Kind regards

    Prakash.

The Bea weblogic and Oracle application server have been combined in a product-viz Oracle Weblogic server.

Please clarify - because Oracle Application Server is always available as a separate offering

    Thank you

Yes, since version 10.3.4 the product called Weblogic Server provides the two "BEA WLS' and 'Oracle AS' characteristics (namely, support for forms and reports, ADF, etc..)

Existing customers of Oracle ACEs can move to Weblogic Server to get its benefits (for example, JRockIt JVM). For the new Oracle AS it is no longer available.

Question if I go for Oracle WebLogic Server 10 g Administrator Certified Expert System it will be good to work with 11g thus?

Make it part of the same system (now). Like WebLogic is the portal and the Jukebox, forms etc. are the records.

What book other than the documentation that you have found the right one for learning.

Yet to find one, Oracle documentation was OK.

I built my Middleware on Linux 64-bit test. Note that the 32-bit version allows to run Forms and Reports Developer.

    Beware of pre-installation tasks

    Install the Oracle database

Use an existing database. (And it worked)

My test was divided into four main parts: (in this order)

Installation of the regional coordination unit
    WebLogic Server Install
    Install JRocket
    Forms and reports Install

According to me, it took me two or three times to do things. (or at least work)

    As always this work orders:
