• Deleting call logs: the waiting is the solution

  There are several positions dealing with the removal of the call logs. A problem on older versions of devices/OS, is that the deleted call log on the unit during a restart. This is consistent with the behavior of the Simulator.

  I found a working solution after a colleague fell on the problem again today.
  It seems that the question is based on a timing problem in the operating system, when the callLogAdded (of the PhoneLogListener) is called the phonelog is not yet written to storage. If you delete the log now another process still works on it and it stays on the phone.

  I solved this problem by running the removal in a new thread and issueing a sleep (2000) before deleting the call log. The 2000 is chosen at random, I don't want to use too much time on it and deleting is not time critical.

  I just wanted to post an update to this issue, MSohm wrote that it was reported, but I have found no information about it being fixed.

  If you deleted them, then they are gone.  You can try to go to Messages > view folders > phone call logs.

  To remove phone call logs

  1. On the BlackBerry, open your messages.
  2. With the list of messages, open, hold down the Alt key and press P to display all phone call logs.
  3. Turn the wheel and stop the date before which you delete call records.
  4. With the date highlighted, click on the wheel.
  5. In the menu, select delete prior and click on the wheel. In the confirmation dialog box, select Remove. All logs of phone call before the selected date are deleted.

  My phone call log and SMS are rid of all calls and text messages 2 minutes after they are comlpleted.  I checked YES to save all the calls and sent display messeges in the General options settings and they are not always displayed in the folder.  Can someone tell me why my phone still deletes messages itself (against the settings)?  Thank you for your time.  -Neal

  The memory of your device is low. Remove the battery for 30 sec to 1 min and replace. This will free up space. Also read the discussions in the sticky section on freeing up the memory of the device.   Problem is solved. I did clear files invalid on the application that is having the problem. If the problem is resolved. I deleted the line of the journal.

  Steps to follow:

  1. go to the console of the workspace and to connect as a user admin 2. open hFM application. 3. click on peacebuilding-> data-> Manage 4. Select the icon of the eraser to erase the invalid clear records.
