Hello

The Intel graphics chip, which is part of the central unit should be used for low performance applications, because it allows you to save energy and reduce the internal temperature.

For best performance while game, it s advisable to use the external GPU (nVidia or AMD)
This setting can be changed in the nVidia control panel s

Here, you should choose manage them 3D settings (can be found on the left in the nVidia control panel)

Now in the main window, you will find two global settings and program parameters tabs
In the program settings tab, select the (game) program that needs to use the nVIdia GPU

If it is not listed, click the Add button
Then choose the graphic processor preferred for this program (generally must be nVidia processor high performance)

Last but no less, in this program-specific settings, you can assign additional features to improve performance.

• Intel i5 750 CPU supports FT?

Hi all

The Intel i5 750 processor is not explicitly mentioned in "processors and operating systems that support VMware Fault Tolerance"

http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1008027

I would like to know if it can be classified as 'Intel Xeon based on categories of Microarchitecture Core i7'?

If not, I'm just wondering why the i5 (Clarkdale) is included and the i5 (Lynnfield) is excluded.

In addition, one can explain the difference between "any series processor here may be used" and "each series of processor must be used separately" under the heading "Categories of Microarchitecture Core i7 '? Then a form of processor Nehalem/Lynnfield FT with Westmere/Clarkdale processor?

Kind regards

Terui

Processor Intel i5 750 is not on the HCL for ESX, so it is also not supported with FT.

The statement "each series of processor must be used separately" means that there is no interoperability between the processors on the list. In other words, you cannot use a 36xx with a 56xx, you can have pairs of feet with processors of same exact for this game. We hope to lift this restriction in the future.

Thank you

Karyn

• Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4 GHz

Would be ESXi and 2 instances of Ubuntu run (quickly) on a computer that has an Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4 GHz and 6gigs of ram? Also, is there a controller raid SATA for under $ 250, which would work well with ESXi and 4-2 to western digital disks?

Thank you

Ed

Depends on the workload, but it should work perfectly. Assuming that there is no other problems with the installation, you might look at LSI on the hardware compatibility list . LSI has reasonable support in ESX (i) and hardware monitoring agents when the LSI are included in the standard install ESX (i). ESX (i) has a limit on the size of the data store. You would need a controller which can create virtual drives or virtual LUN on a table. Individual virtual LUNS and disks should be slightly smaller than 2 TB

• SOS - NVidia Chipset, Vista 64-bit, Intel Quad core CPU & > 4 GB RAM questions

Hello!
One cannot explain the question about more than 4 GB of RAM, 64-bit Vista Ultimate, NVidia Chipset and Intel Core 2 Quad CPU.
I have a MSI P6N SLI Motherboard (NVidia Nforce 650i SLI Chipset) with 6 GB of RAM DDR2 800, Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU, 2 x GeForce 8600GT in SLI Mode.
32 bit Vista ultimate works fine with my PC, but whenever I try to install a 64-bit windows vista Ultimate Edition, a BSOD with the STOP error message is displayed. Not much happens if the RAM is reduced to 3 GB. The most strange, when I tried to install Windows 7 in this same configuration, there was no this problem.

Kind regards...

Hello

There is an error in timing known when installing Vista 64 bit on a system with all the ram slots 4 full on a card mother dual channel. It has nothing to do with the size of the total ram. The simple solution is to install x 64 with only the two bench 0 Visa slots filled, and then add the other two sticks back when the installation is complete. • Satellite P750-13N - problem switching between nVidia and Intel GPU

Hello

I used my laptop Satellite P750 on its default settings because I brought and until now that has been very well.

I use it mainly for games and now some of the more recent games have a hard run Shading.
I used * www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri * and he told me that I should be able to run most of these games without any problem.

I checked my specs in dxdiag and noticed that it seems to be using the integrated graphics card Intel rather than the Nvidia Geforce GT540M map. I tried which helps the card in the Device Manager and disable the Intel graphics card, but the resolution has dropped drastically and dxdiag says there is now no graphics support found.

I did something wrong or do you think that there is a problem with the laptop?
Any help would be most welcome.

Thank you

This can be done in the nvidia Control Panel.

+ 1. Click Start, then Control Panel. Select Classic view in the left side of the window. +

+ 2. Double-click NVIDIA Control Panel. +

+ 3. Click view, and then add the "Run with graphic processor" Option to the context Menu. Close the NVIDIA Control Panel. +

+ 4. Right click on the title of the application and select run with GPU. Then, click processor high-performance NVIDIA. +

• Pavilion G7-1338DX: upgrade to Intel i3 i5 CPU on Pavilion G7?

Hello. I had to change the cooling on my G7-1338DX fan who died (this laptop is exclusive to Best Buy apparently). While I had it apart, I decided to move to 8 GB of RAM. There is only a single BIOS for this laptop, F.66, the original BIOS. Would there be problems coming out of the i3 to 2350 M and exchange it for an i5 2520M clocked? I guess not because of the same chipset, but I just want to know that. The reason for which I am upgrading the CPU (or hoping to) is because I want to do a video about where four hearts and more RAM make the difference.

• drivers for Intel Pentium 4 cpu 2.40 ghz

Hay Iam looking for all drivers for Intel pentium cpu 2.40 ghz

Hi Rohit, there is no drivers for the processor, the operating system will automatically find the processor. I guess you mean drivers for chipsets and devices of Council on and for this you will need the brand and model of the main map, if you look at the motherboard, you should see that he stamped somewhere. Once you have that go to the manufactures website and download the drivers.

If you try to install your CPU on a motherboard, you will first need to know it is supported, same answer, go to the web site of decision-makers.

• Intel and AMD CPU processor in the same Cluster vCenter

Okay, guys and girls, doing vCenter/ESX 4.x cluster support a joint brain of AMD and Intel CPU?

I have succeeded in their own groups so many individual servers but never asked on the mixture of AMD and Intel servers in a Cluster of ESX.

I'm sure that's not possible or supported, but I have to ask anyway. Send a link to support your statement.

Thank you

N °
A VCA active cluster only allows processors to a single supplier in the
cluster. VirtualCenter and vCenter Server you do not add a host
another provider in a cluster enabled EVC.

• Impossible to run the 64-bit Intel Xeon 5130 CPU clients

Hi all

We have a small group of two boxes of DELL.

A newer PowerEdge R710 with processor Intel Xeon 5550 and the other older

PowerEdge 2950 with processor Intel Xeon 5130.

Both running ESX 4.0

both platforms should support 64-bit OS.

When you create a customer I can not select a for example Windows 2008 64-bit. When I start this machine on my PE 2950, it starts, it loads are installing windows, DVD and shortly after I receive a message saying that he needs a 64-bit processor. ??

Pass the customer to another host, installs and works fine. We saw the same thing with Windows 7 64 bit (and probably with the 64 bit OS).

I just restarted this host and went into the BIOS to see if the CPU has been in support of 64-bit, it was. And if the VT CPU technology has been activated, it was.

Still no luck, however.

Someone at - it an idea?

Your processor supports Vt - x ( http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=27216). Have you tried a BIOS upgrade? Also, check out this document, http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-8978

• Workstation 7 64-bit - support for Intel mode (i7 CPU)?

Hi all

do we know if Workstation 7 (latest version 64 bit) supports the technology Intel mode available in the Intel i7 (720, 820, 920 QM)?

I have the i7-720QM which, by default, takes place in 1, 6 GHz and mode it should up the CPU at about 2.8 ghz but VMWare Workstation doesn't seem to be able to use/demand this... so still clocked at 1.6 ghz - very slow!

Someone can confirm this, or plans to support the architecture of the Intel i7 in the near future?

Thank you very much

• Satellite Z930 - Possible WiDi with the Intel Core i7 CPU?

Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Z930 and I am trying to expand the display of the monitor to a new TV that I just bought wireless. -Is is possible to connect to the laptop via WiDi?

Main specifications of my laptop are:
-Intel Core i7-3667U @2. 00 Ghz
-Wireless LAN - AR9485WB-EG Atheros wireless network adapter

Any ideas?

M.

Hello

Intel WiDi is based on Intel technology and this support depends on the Wlan card built in Notepad.
You need to use the Intel WiDi, Intel WLAN module which is part of the 6000 Centrino series.

As you mentioned in you original post above; the laptop seems to be equipped with an Atheros WLan card.
The Atheros WLan card does not support the Intel WiDi and therefore, you will not be able to use this technology.
