NVMe - NVMe 1TG (THNSN51T02DU7) poor write rate

Hello

I bought a 1 to NVMe M2 Toshiba SSD (THNSN51T02DU7) and use it in a zBook G3 HP.
Where to find the driver is for Windows 10? The write speed is very, very poor. I can not install the pilot to OCZ NVMe (subsidiary of Toshiba).

Hello
I bougth this NVMe SSD m2 too, and I'm looking for drivers for Windows 7. Can someone help me please? Thank you

  • Intel SRCS16 on ESX4 - poor write performance

    Hello world!

I need to change HD on one of my ESX hosts that have only 250 GB of total space, while we buy 5 HD 1 TB.

This weekend, I put another control (Intel SRCS16) Raid and connect a 1 TB just to copy a VM of old HD to the new.

Matrix Raid took less than 1 min.

Creation of partition on the raid drive took less than 1 min. (with fdisk)

Partition formatting took more than 3 hours (with mkfs.ext3)

    Test write performance with: time dd if = / dev/zero of=/mnt/share/test.test bs = 1 M count = 1024

    And took approximately 18 min. (1 Mb/s)

Research on google, I find some useful links.

    On the Vmware communities, I found this: http://communities.VMware.com/thread/105552?start=0 & tstart = 0

    But it does not work.

    Someone has an idea?

    Thanks for your help

SRCS16 Intel has some extremely poor write performance without cache enabled writable. For normal operations with write cache, you should have BBWC (battery backup). Enabling write without BBWC cache may lead to the loss of data in case of power failure.

  • Poor transfer rate using Converter standalone 5.0 compared to the 4.3

I recently started using the Converter new version 5.0.0.  I did successfully more than 30 years of P2V Windows 2003 systems using version 4.3.  Immediately, I noticed two problems:

    (1) the average transfer rate went from about 100 MB/s to between 0.8 and 2 MB/s.

    (2) the process has systematically failed after completion of the c: cloning and start on the D: drive.

I tried this on 5 different physical servers, ranging from 5 different servers host VMware ESXi 4.1 and the result was always the same.  I assumed it was a network problem or firewall and sent on a 'wild goose chase' network team for 2 days.  After that they were convinced that the physical machine being P2V was simply not sent sufficient packages, I went back and re-installed version 4.3 and restarted the P2V transfer.  This time, I received a transfer rate average of 100 Mbps (50 x faster) and the whole process completed successfully.

Has anyone else seen a similar problem?  No possible explanation?

The file you have to change is converter - Worker.Xml. It should be located under folder "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VMware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone". You should find the useSsl under the nfc subkey value in Config key. If not present, you can add this value as follows:

    ...

    fake

    ...

Save the configuration file and restart the worker VMware vCenter Converter Standalone service.
  • Rate of reading/writing of the SSD from low on Satellite P70-A-11 q

    Hello.

I bought a Toshiba P70-A-11 q today and installed on an EVO 840 250 GB SSD. On the SSD I fresh installed windows 8.1

After installation I went to some points of reference on the SSD.

Unfortunately, the read/write rate seems quite small compared to what I see on the web for this drive.

First I thought that maybe the AHCI is disabled (because I could not locate in the BIOS).
The magician shows as active however.
I put the Samsun QUICK Option, but still no results.

Here's the magician tool info and a screenshot of the read/write rates.
    [Pic1 | http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh565/rockreactor/rates_zpsd79fc400.jpg]
    [Pic2 | http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh565/rockreactor/Untitled_zpse70dbdf5.jpg]

There is no AHCI option to enable in the BIOS.
I could only change some values in the registry, but after a reboot, they change again.
Y at - it a hand I could activate or make sure that the AHCI is enabled?

Is there anything I might be missing?

    Thanks in advance

and what values did you expect?
On the first picture, I can see the values
    Read ~ 374 MB/s (MB/s) = ~2990Mbit/s
    Write ~ 384 MB/s (MB/s) = ~3070Mbit/s

The values look good to me...

I have the same SSD drive connected to my laptop.
Read/write values are much lower (read 252 MB/s, write 244 MB/s) but my laptop doesn't support the SATA III controller.

By the way: the AHCI is supported and enabled by default.

  • HARD drive write low performance

    Hello

I am new to vmware ESX 4.1 and I trying to figure out if it's a good product for us. So far I am very happy, but one thing that I can't fix.

We use openSuse 11.2 installed VM-tools and Windows7 as VM-guest operating system. The two-, but above all openSUSE - has read-rate normal but very very bad write-rates. Reading disc reached approximately 60 MB/s, but write to disk only 4 to 6 MB/s.

I tried to change the drive type in the settings of the virtual machine of "LSI - SAS' to"Paravirtual"but that does not change.

Please can someone tell me, what can I do to improve the rate of writing of my virtual machines?

    Thank you!

    Greetz,

    Jürgen

ESX/ESXi does not perform the caching of the blocks.

So the only way to get good speed, without the controller with Scripture, writing is more pin in band or RAID10 configuration.

Another way is to increase the vRAM for each virtual computer and "hope" that the comments file system cache works as is no longer possible

  • How to reduce the startup time of timesten

    Hi guys

We run TT on a PC server and 50G TimesTen data located in a warehouse (NOT of SSD). Every time we start the TimesTen, it costs about 30 minutes, which is a little longer than we expected.

I put RecoveryThreads = 8 to speed up the process of rebuilding indexes, but the process of reading and writing of files check point looks as the main costs of 30 minutes.

Could you tell how to speed up the reading and writing of files of control point to reduce the boot time? Also could you explain why TimesTen need to write checkpoint files at startup.  I can easily understand reading the memory checkpoint files (loading data in memory), after loading why TT wirte to checkpoint files?

    Concerning

    Li

The ttmesg.log will include messages on the number of bytes in a file of control point were read in a certain amount of time, so it is easy to calculate what your reading I/O rate. If you get poor read rates (and therefore take longer to start than desired) TimesTen is embarrassed by this rather than anything that can be tuned in the database. Your speed is about 50GB / 1800 seconds, which is about 30 MB per second. You may want to consider if the I/O reading rate anticipated for your hardware, or if it says improvements are possible. If you are able to locate your files of control point on the SSD or flash, then it is likely to be faster anyway, and then you can take advantage of the parallel control point reads at startup (see the Docs and Note1987463.1 for more details). Readings of parallel to the starting control point are unlikely to help and can actually hinder readings of classical records of spinning.

TimesTen performs a control point at the end of recovery for logs of transaction that he hasn't needed to purge and bring it to a full consistency. The checkpoint also wrote the DB header, which I think has updated during the process of recovery of fields. There may be other reasons for this, but it was always part of the architecture and recovery process.

You could also look at how you close the base database or instance. If you ttDaemonAdmin - stop when there are active connections to the database, you could force the database to be invalidated and therefore much more must be done when you start the instance / reload the database. Note 740819.1 is quite useful to the topic of why you should always try to stop a database free of charge, in order to minimize the time to reboot.

I'm working on the current project is a feature film with the only content HD of BlackmagicPocket, some REFLEX. I use a lot of warp stabilizer, some filmconvert and some twixtor and NeatVideo both effects. However the next few projects will be very probably 4K then I would be ready when needed.

    Main question:

Is the XP941 with its huge read/write rate and low latency best served for the operating system or put all the stuff all about him video editing? I consider two options for disk configuration and looking for advantages/disadvantages or general advice on which is better or if a completely different configuration would be better work.

    Option 1:

512 GB XP941 - OS, program, Windows swap file, Cache

512 GB 850 files, Renders & Previews, some Pro media - project

3 TB Barracuda HARD drive x 2-media, exports

Backup is located on external USB 3 2 x 4TB

    Option 2:

    512 GB Pro 850 - OS, programs

512 GB XP941 - hiding, previews, exports, projects. Windows swap file

3 TB Barracuda HARD drive x 2-media, exports

Backup is located on external USB 3 2 x 4TB

    Secondary issue:

I think for my current project (long form, 4 TB + base media but all alone in HD (80% is intermediate x 220 BlackMagicPocket RAW DnXHD and 20% is DSLR MOV idle 60 fps) 7200 RPM hard drives should not be a bottleneck?) (I intend to use a Raid0 (with regular external backups) when I have the archives project and move to 4 K content later). Should I the Raid0 now for the HD project?

I thank you for your time and we look forward to your responses.

    First note:

    Large power supply.

The PSU is one of the most crucial elements in any system, but also one of the most often overlooked components. A good diet will offer you years of reliable work on your PC, a power supply suboptimal or poor you will give enormous headache and inexplicable crashes, hangs or errors, making you miss deadlines limits.

Go to extreme Power Supply Calculator Pro v2.5 and get the Pro version. Enter all of your components, including plans for expansion, set to high range motherboard - office, define (TDP) CPU utilization to 100%, 30% the system value loads to 100% and ageing of capacitors and press calculate. Add 10 to 15% of its power for safety and notes the necessary amperage on the various rails (+ 3.3V, + 5V and + 12V). According to these data, select a good label GOLD or PLATINUM PSU, which respects the total power and amperage on each rail. This is your best guarantee for long and reliable, without editing problem.

It is a myth that a big power supply uses more electricity than a small block power. If the system needs 600W to run, a 650W PSU will use 600W and race to 92 percent of capacity. A 1200W PSU will draw the 600W even from the wall, but operating at 50 percent capacity. It is comparable to a formula 1 race with a safety car situation. Bernd Schneider in his Mercedes AMG safety car will run to 92 percent of capacity, the cars of formula 1 race at 50% of their capacity.

You're better off with running a power supply to 50-65% of its capacity, it works at 80% or more.

of Tweakers Page - what type of PC to use?
In order to better get a gold or Platinum, PSU instead of a bronze.

Second, to reconsider the planned cooler. The 100i Corsair is not only costly, bur. From this same article, note:

Hydro coolers Corsair do not give a cooling performance better than the air of Cooler Master or Noctua coolers, or they work more silent. They are more expensive. Don't forget that in push-pull configuration air coolers have two fans, which are replaced by two fans on the radiator when you use a Corsair Hydro. Unfortunately, Corsair fans are quite loud, thus defeating the intent of the silence of the cooling water to make things more. Indeed, we replace two fans with a noise level average of 25 dB with two fans of radiator with 35 dB. If cooling performance was better, the additional noise could be overlooked, but which is not the case. Up to approximately 4.8 GHz overclock, the difference in performance between the air cooler and Corsair Hydro been negligent. So, if you opt for the Corsair Hydro coolers, you don't get better cooling, you get more noise, energy consumption more (because of the water pump) and spend you a lot more.

Finally, go for option 2, with the following changes:

    • Windows swap file on the startup disk, the Samsung 850 Pro, because as was said here, Tweakers Page - Tuning Guide :

      • Once you've removed the applications that you don't need and cleaned the disk by deleting files all these License.txt and Readme First.txt or whatever they are called, set up your file of page static on the boot drive. Windows 8 insists on using a swap file on the diskette to start to create a memory dump or accident, so he will be created even if you have an another pagefile on a different drive. The suggested size of this static page file is such that the amount of installed RAM over the page file size is at least 48 GB. So for a machine of 16 GB RAM, the paging file must be set to 32 GB. For a 32 GB RAM machine, it can be set for a machine of RAM to 64 GB that it must be paid at least 1 GB and 16 GB. More than 1 GB pagefile on a 64 GB machine is not really necessary, given that PR is hard pressed to use more 26 GB of memory in my experience. For the AE, it should be to increase the swap file to something more than 1 GB on 64 GB machines.
    • A bootdisk of 256 GB is more than enough. 512 GB is a waste of space.
    • Exports can easily be put on the raid0. No need to put them on the XP941.
  • Airport Extreme dislike gigabit speed

I'm having a strange problem. Backstory... I have an older Ooma VoIP device. It works very well.  The connection is Modem > Ooma > router - my modem (ARRIS Surfboard SB6141) and I use Airport Extreme. When the devices are connected as indicated everything works fine. The modem has a 'connection' light which is orange with this configuration. According to the manual of the modem, this light indicates Ethernet (10Base-T) or Fast Ethernet (100Base-T) is running.  When I remove the Ooma system and connect the modem directly to the router, the yellow led lights up blue saying that the signal that the modem sends is now a high-speed Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T).  Sounds great, but my router then ceases to broadcast and distribute a signal, directly and without wire connected with a cat6 cable.

You could say, then leave him alone and I can do, but I'm willing to reconfigure my system with updated Ooma device, and causes my modem from orange to blue, thus losing my Wi - Fi.  I talked to Arris (modem does not work as expected), I talked to Ooma (if the signal is working on their device, they see not the problem). So that the leaves of the router.  Can anyone figure out what's going on? Why did I lose my signal when I go directly from the modem to the router when the speed seems to be better?  (Yes, I restart both modem and router in the right order).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    David

It seems that your Ooma device only supports (up to) 100 Mbps Ethernet connections. On the other hand, does your AirPort Extreme support 1 Gbps Ethernet.

The reason why you can be make connectivity issues when connecting your Arris modem to an extreme that is there has been many positions related to this. Specifically and the problem of incompatibility between the SB61XX series modems and airport base stations. This is not bad in themselves, they just don't "play well" together. Typical complaints is poor, transfer rate, and inconsistent Internet connectivity.

    Basically, you have two choices:

    1. Replace the Arris modem with another modem series of non-SB61XX. If you plan to go this route, you must select a modem recommended by your ISP.
    2. Replace your extreme with a non-Apple router.
  • SSDS must be similar in size and type to raid 0?

SSDS must be similar in size and type to raid 0?  I have a 2009 MBP 2.66 bicoeur.  SSDS are an old sata 250 GB Samsung 850 pro III and an all new Intel 160 GB (320 series) sata II.  The hard drive on the MBP interface is 3.0 GB/s sata optical drive interface is 3.0 Gbit/s

How is it difficult to set up raid 0?  I don't know the first thing about raid 0, 1, 2, 3?

    Thank you

    Stu

If it works, it will be almost double the read and write rates, I understand.

RAID offers for the SECOND and the following read/write of the same LARGE file acceleration and not otherwise. Any intervention of reading or writing in different files eliminates the acceleration. Any acceleration is much more dramatic on rotating discs, because it can eliminate some of the 10 ms or more long 'dead time' while the reader is a new track and the controller must wait for the correct data go in the position under the read/write head. Acceleration on the low-latency SSDS is far less dramatic.

The system drive / boot is particularly bad choice for a RAID, it reads and writes small random files in all directions. Who will get no acceleration.

You can best be served by creating a workflow that allows separate readers for the source files to Destination files, files of zero and drive system / boot.

    --------

RAID is usually done on the disks that are exactly or nearly the same. Too slow response of one of the discs can cause the RAID failure.

RAID support has been removed the disc utility GUI in 10.11 ElCapitan, probably because too many casual users got into trouble with the built-in GUI functions. You need to use the diskutil command in the Terminal, or buy the SoftRAID(4) package.

  • I can perform a tag read, but not a writing of the tag

    Hello

I'm relatively new to Labview.  I recently bought the EthernetIP for Labview 2014 library and try to establish communication with a Contrologix 5561 with an ENBT ethernet module back.  I did so far, some programs of barebones namely, a few blocks from Tag Read to read to bool, ints, deformations and real numbers.  Which works very well.  I have change the label on the side of plc, and the change reflects my LabVIEW VI.  I am now on the written tag part and will not have the same success.  My current VI consists simply of an EthernetIP write tag (INT), the IP (and bottom position of basket and slot) to the path network, an existing tag name and a constant (tried control earlier) in the data port.  It is almost identical to my readings of tag configuration, except that I have an input rather than output.

I know that I do nothing to establish a correct connection, but since tag reading working well enough, I have not focused on that.  Maybe I am missing here.

Anyone has any advice on what I can do to fix this problem?

    Thank you

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

Welcome to the forums and congratulations to be a new user of LabVIEW!

I checked the attached vi. And I found the data you have provided to the Write.vi of the tag must be rectified. Data table 1 d of U16. you have specified that the index of the element that is 12 and you don't have any value of it. You can see that the value field is always gray, which means, you have not provided any value that you want to write in PLC. So I hope that you won't see any value next PLC.

It is also recommended that such read/write function in a loop to happen without interruption to a read or write rate.

In fact all National Instruments products come with example a need screws to help customers get started with their applications. "If you open LabVIEW, you can enter in the Help" find examples.  This will open the Finder of example of OR.  Here, you will be able to find examples on many best practices with NI LabVIEW and our material. "" "In NEITHER example Finder, open material input and output" NOR-Industrial Communications "EtherNet/IP" EtherNetIP Adapter.lvproj. You can refer to write and read Tag.vi for the service you need.

    I hope this helps you!

  • Connection speed 2.4 Ghz E3000 and USB HDD

I use WRT160N for my internet and wifi at home. For the storage of the laptop, I use Seagete Free Agent 2 TB USB 3.0, which is nice by car.

So I desided to buy E3000 and use as storage server, router, internet and wifi.

I install everything, he went peaty smoot.

During installation, I noticed that 2.4 GHz wifi shows only max 150 Mbps, but 5 GHz 300 Mbps connection speed (I use wifi mini card dell 1510 on my Dell laption, supports the 2.4 and 5 GHz).

I tried different things to the 2.4 GHz to display connection 300Mbps speed (disable 5 GHz option, set the mode to "N" only, always use WPA2, etc.), but without success. When I connect to the old WRT160N, I can see 300Mbps speed of connection.

Can you advice what settings should I set up, so that I can use connection to the E3000 300Mbps?

The second bit I want to share and comment on is the access speed to the reader of the UBS.

When I connect to the reader directly on my laptop, I am limited to 32 MB/s (256Mbps) read/write speed (the laptop is USB2.0, so it seems normal).

Now, when I write of the E3000 max speed wifi I do is about 3 to 3.5 MB/s (24-28Mbps) and when it is connected to the local network (100 Mbps) speed is about 4 - 4. 5 MB/s (32-36 Mbps).

It seems slow, peaty compared to the speed of the USB. 5 GHz wifi rate shows 300Mbps connection 144Mbps speed/2.4 Ghz (which is 18 MB/s), so that the router should be able to keep read/write rate highter.

Is this a problem E3000 or this is the max I can get material in there?

    1. it's a router not a storage attached to the network power house. If you want a NAS with high performance get a NAS. The USB HDD is more for practical reasons, then for high performance. Drive speeds you see through the router are good enough for a device like this. Check what CPU you have in your E3000 and which processors they use in NAS devices that are able to provide data of 250 Mbit/s from a connected USB device and you will see that it is a completely different League...

    2. the 150 Mbps is a rate of 20 MHz. The connection uses only a band of 20 MHz and not a 40 Mhz. This is usually due to one of these two reasons:

    a. many pilots (for example Intel Centrinos) wireless equipped with 20 MHz preconfigured on the band 2.4 GHz. It will link ever more quick then 150 Mbps, unless you change the configuration of the driver.

    b. most / all new routers observe interference of signal on the tapes and automatically returns to 20 MHz mode, if they find too much interference. If you have many other access points in your proximity 40 MHz would mean more than twice the interference on the connection. Any other communication on stuck on 40 MHz channels would interfere with your communication. With a lot of traffic interfering on the range 2.4 GHz, you would see very low real rates if you forced 40 MHz in this case.

And your neighbors using 802.11 g wouldn't really appreciate your bandwidth hogging. Because of the limited number of channels without overlapping on the 2.4 GHz band a router running on 40 MHz basically use 2/3 of the total available on the entire 2.4 GHz band available bandwidth. The execution of 40 MHz in a neighborhood with many other access points is all just a terrible idea...

    Hello

1 do these to erase corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

    Now, try the methods below.

    ==========================================

    3. try this method and you will probably need to contact the manufacturer of your system and drive manufacturer Support for
possible firmware updates or known issues.

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.
