• Missing folder then drag and drop on the OBIEE catalog view

  Hi guys.

  I had a folder on shared folders and I moved it to a different folder on shared too, using a simple drag and drop on the catalog on OBIEE view and everything by moving my browser crashed.

  When I logged on again, my folder disappeared. He disappeared, I couldn't find it on the place of origin or target folder.

  Any idea to solve this problem? I lost more than 50 analysis and 10 dashboards.

  Hello Luiz,

  The easiest way is to restore a backup of your catalog, you have one, right?

  In case you have not one there is 2 things you can do:

  (1) set up a backup of your server of BI to the next crash drag & drop

  (2) try to look if you find the folder on the file system: If the problemcs file does not exist or has a problem objects are invisible in OBIEE, so first check if the physical content is still there and if find you there is a way to get it back...

• OBIEE 11g migration: weblogic user cannot open a session in analytics

  We simply migrate obiee 11g successfully from one server to another server.

  but now after the migration we are not able to log into the analytical page with weblogic user.

  This weblogic user is able to connect to the Console and EM, but not in the analytical page.

  Any user can connect to the console, EM and analytics page.

  so far,.

  We tried trobleshooting with the following links,

  1. Weblogic

  2. also tried with deleting user weblogic and yet once created weblogic.

  but no luck.

  Note: I noticed when we migrated the users and roles from one server to another, then the user weblogic worked very well, could even connect to the Analytics page.

  But as soon as we have migrated and deployed RPD, only since then, while we are facing this problem.

  have idea on this.

  I have a generic question here. What happends if a database of catalog is migrated. I mean if I have a database that is used as a catalogue for other 20 databases, and I migrate, y at - it a problem on the databases to restore from the catalog? If I migrate a database, a week after that I have a migration of the catalog database, and then I need to restore a database to a time before the two migrations, y at - it no problem with database catalog?

  We plan to migrate the Discoverer (10.1.2) to OBIEE (10.1.4), we use discoverer to relational (OLTP data) instead of directly questioning the AS 400 of database for end users.
  
  Since OBIEE supports the dimensional model in its repository structure, what are the challenges related to EUL (non dimensional model) relationship to the OBIEE repository migration using the migration of discoverer-OBIEE utility.

  Hi Sunil
  I agree with you. Unless your business is already pretty much scheme star you will find much easier to build the model manually in OBIEE.

  From my experience, I find that end users understand much easier than OLTP patterns in Star patterns.

  Although in training that my company offers we insist on the need to design the business districts of discoverer in asterisks most administrators of discoverer does not do this and just give users what is essentially the model of database. This type of business will not transcribe in OBIEE easily without work.

  There is really no shortcuts to good design. If it takes place within the EUL so it must take place within the OBIEE.

  Cool... I have also encountered this kind of error long back... Follow and fortunately we it will be solved.

  A problem with the constraint or the Index after the upgrade of the catalogue in 11 GR 2

  Remove the constraint, if available, otherwise check index, if found the drop... Rest is history...

  First, check the BRL_U1... It can be constrained or an index on the catalog database.

  May be it's problem... the compulsion was abandoned during the catalog migration process, but the corresponding index has not been abandoned.

  The catalog DB:

  -Removal of the index

  SQL > connect rman.

  SQL > select * from user_constraints where constraint_name = "BRL_U1";

  SQL > select * from user_indexes where index_name = "BRL_U1";

  SQL > drop index BRL_U1;

  Once it will be deposited now connect to the production database to connect to the catalog and re-synchronize... It should work like that...

  RMAN target / catalog rman/password@catalog_db_name

  RMAN > catalog resync;

  from full resynchronization of the recovery catalog

  full complete Resync

  RMAN > exit

  I have it. We had a customMessages folder that has been crushing the default set of export options. Fixed it and it worked.

  (1) how to migrate users/groups/Application of the roles progressively Dev to Prod environment in obiee 11 g.

  And after the migration, must I do any extra work means change BISystem user pwd and refreshing GUID?

  (2) I made a full migration of users/groups and Application roles. Now I have users/groups are available in the console of the prod and Application roles are available in MS. But I am unable to connect to the help of the user who is migrated from dev to prod. Password and username of am getting error IE is not valid when you connect analytics.

  And I deployed RPD to dev to prod. All services are up. But am getting attention is to say "' cause of the error: Error retrieving data from the user/group of the Oracle Server user Population BI API." and in the RPD, make me warnings like 'user not defined in EM'. "

  Hi Rupesh,
  By a strange coincidence I just got this error myself, only I have an Essbase data source. A quick search on Google to return some results suggesting there is an error in C++ code in the administration tool. As I thought about it as an alteration, to fix, I had to actually recreate every joint in my diagram and everything works fine now.

  It sounds like it could be linked to the importation of certain parts of the repository by copying and pasting another Dre, don't know if you did that. I have not try but had to do it recently, and I suppose that this error is the result.
