ODI with local Oracle XE database implementation

Hi all

I'm putting in place the ODI with a local Oracle XE database.
Individuals: WinXP Pro
Oracle XE 10.2.0

I was able to create a master repository without a problem.
I'm trying to connect with the designer of the ODI and I created a "working repository connection", but I get the username/password invalid name when you test the connection.
I use the Oracle user name password that I used for the creation of the master repository.
What I'm not doing correctly?

Thank you
Bob

Well I think you enter the user name and password for odi
the user name for ODI's SUPERVISOR
and the password for ODI SUNOPSIS

    Hello

Can someone explain the reasons in detail, 'the B2B - BAM integration does not work with the database Oracle XE'?

Can't we use XE POC simple to demonstrate BAM?

    Published by: 975946 on December 27, 2012 04:14

    Hi Nithin,

The main reason for this Oracle XE database can't handle such a huge process. Same Oracle XE is not supported in production.
Note that SOA requires 300 process and BAM more than 100 processes (400 total), which is in addition to any other requirement its 500 to parameter.but process during the installation of Oracle SOA RCU, I hope you gave 300 single right.so his can't handle as much load if use B2B BAM integration.

The ultimate goal is to have need to display active data in the right BAM reports? so, if you are using Oracle XE DB its may be not possible to show the active data.that the reason Oracle recommended use / works with Oracle 10 g Oracle 11 g versions EE and EE.

  • Visual Studio / Oracle configured with local and remote database

Hi, I developed a database application in Visual Studio 2010 and have installed Oracle Database 11 g Express on the same pc - (Windows 7, 64-bit).

Now, I am faced with should I install then: I saw that Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio is required and recommended, but as it comes as part of the ODAC, he asks if I want to install the client or server. Who does?

And the situation would change if I also need to connect to a remote (Oracle 10 g) database? I'm looking forward to avoid having files tnsnames everywhere, if possible, but I would need a separate Oracle client installation in both cases?

    Thank you very much
    Nick

You must install the "client" of the ODAC option in a separate House if you want that the features of Server Explorer.

You can connect via TNSNames without additional installation. %ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin is a well known place that the customer checks, and you can also specify the directory you want the tnsnames.ora to get picked up for via an TNS_ADMIN environment variable.

  • Date picker with errors of time with timestamp with local time zone (Apex 5.0)

Have a problem for the datePicker (with time) to work on a timestamp with local time zone database column.

It works very well with the time steps, but when I add a mask to format with the time it fails with an error like: -.

«Date entered stressed attribute value sysdate to element P111000_TARGET_DATE does not YYYYMMDDHH24MI, format DD-MON-YYYY HH24 TZR.»

I have tried many masks of different formats including: -.

    • DD-MON-YYYY HH24 TZR
    • DD-MON-YYYY HH24
    • HH:MIPM-MON-DD-YYYY
    • YYYYMMDDHH24MI

but still get the same error...

No matter who got the job or have a tip? Really want to use the timestamp with local time zone datatype as facilitates a lot of things.

    Thank you

    Phil.

Pls ignore, do not read the error message... The problem was my default highlighted value in the wrong format.

  • What are the risks involved in the Migration of Oracle 7 database to oracle10G

    Hello
As a requirement of business me are necessary for the migration of our current production (Oracle 7.3.4) database to Oracle 10 G R2.

I need to understand the risk involved in the affirmative and corrective action necessary.
Your small contribution is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards
    Vijay

I did the migration of Oracle 8.1.6 to 10g database. Although I wasn't about many questions, questions I have met have been documented in Metalink. First, you will need to do a test migration, a UAT and then go to know the risk to go into production.
I think you need to upgrade to 8.1.7 and migrate then import/export 10g directly. I had faced problems with the database with the Oracle Application database queues.

    Kind regards
    Marie.

  • BAM works with the Oracle database only in the backend.

Hi, I was wondering if Oracle Business Activity Monitor (BAM) implemented in ADF application works with the Oracle database as Oracle database is one of the databases very little supporting the database change Notification? Or can it be implemented using database of MySQL etc.

    Thank you!

As far as I KNOW only Oracle db supports the database change Notification.

  • Run ODI Interfaces of Oracle database

    Hi all

Can we run the ODI interfaces of Oracle database even we execute mappings OWB database by creating a Proc Storeed and passing the name of mapping for execution.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Ankit

Can we run the ODI interfaces of Oracle database even we execute mappings OWB database by creating a Proc Storeed and passing the name of mapping for execution.

There is a fundamental difference between generated code OWB and ODI code generated.
OWB especially generates control loaded package files or sql oracle wchich can easily be called from a Proc Storeed.

But in the case of ODI, the final product is XML scenario file IE. All information related to the interface/procedure/package etc are scattered through various repository table and it is very difficult to write a Proc Storeed and connect inter between these tables.

ODI scenario can be called from the rinse command prompt supplied ODI startscen.bat/sh utility
    http://gerardnico.com/doc/ODI/Webhelp/en/UserManual/agent/scenario_os.htm

Now, you can also run a script shell to a PL/SQL procedure
    http://www.DBA-Oracle.com/t_execute_shell_script_plsql_procedure.htm

So considering the above 2 pints, you can run the ODI iscenario of Oracle database, but it will be different from the way in which you are mapping OWB execution.

    Thank you

  • The Oracle HTTP Server come FREE with the Oracle database

    Thank you
Please let me know if Oracle HTTP Server are FREE with the Oracle database.

If this is a related issue of license then better check with the sales representative in your area. Oracle sales team can only confirm the details.

As far as I know if a product is delivered in another product then product main price includes the price of the licenses for all.

Example: OEM license purchase, will include the license for Weblogic.

  • Relocation of the oracle database to a new server with upgrade oracle software

    Hi guys,.

Here's the scenario, we have an existing demo Oracle 9.2 database on Solaris 5.9 server. Asked me this transfer to another server with the same OS but with installed Oracle 10g software. The original plan was to mount the exisiting Oracle home of the original server to the new server and copy there all the databases files and set up the database.

    Here are the steps:
-Issue a statement "controlfile alter trace database backup", download the script of the trace file
-Copy all database files to the new server
    -Change the settings files
-Make a startup mount recreate control files, data recovery and startup of the database on the new server.

I suggested that we to a tablespace of transport but cause limited resources and that the 9.2 database doesn't have this feature, we cannot carry out this process. Also, I can't make an exp/imp of the database as we really have little resources on a disc. I was wondering if the steps I listed above are correct? Or would result in an error?

Is it possible not to move the files from the mounted disk and treat it as it is and then upgrade the Oracle 9.2 database to Oracle 10.2?

Yes you can request the 9.2-10.2 online upgrade, see upgrade guide

    Nordine salvation,

I suggest you to refer the link: "How do I convert the character set for Oracle R12.1.1 running on 11.0.6 database Oracle US7ASCII' as it is very relevant to you."

Response to your previous post would be:

    S ' stick to a plan

-Try all of the activity on the TEST server for yourself

-Troubleshoot and debug all the question from A - Z

-On the successful implementation, make a backup of the Production and move the solution to PROD.

If possible, run a lot of questions while doing the character set migration oracle applications, database because it contains the application tables.

I accept the fact that EBS database is complicated to a database independent, but still all the features and debugging tools and troubleshooting is the same, although it is autonomous or EBS database.

We should do if we stuck to the top in with and truncate in the application according to the CSSCAN results tables,.

little tables when we checked in Metalink he says to avoid these tables which do not affect the database or application.

Try in a Test Server, the above link helps you on the issue. You can find answer to some tables with loss in metalink if it's a bug, just lift a SRt solve your problem.

What we must do if we are in important application tables, export and import will help in this issue.

No, if we have available data with loss, then we cannot use the Import/Export and we will have to use CSALTER instead.

is this the right method or must contact oracle support for assistance on important application tables.

YES, I personally recommend you try and paralleling have ongoing Oracle support. So that you will have a guide from A to Z, in the case you're wrong

    Hope this helps

    Best regards

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

DataDirect offered in the past a driver suitable for Informix 7.3. Maybe you should get in touch with their support on a driver.

Now for the problem of the Transaction:
DG4ODBC usually opens a transaction because it allows to the commit or rollback, a update/insert/delete. When the Informix database is nolog mode the open transaction fails. You can enable logging on the Informix database, but it might cause reduced performance on the Informix db.
Another approach is a patch generated for DG4IFMX (7417128), which can also be used for DG4ODBC well after the re-establishment of links then customer and the DG4ODBC:
    genagtsh $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libagtsh.so 1.0
    do idg4odbc $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk f

Check out Metalink if she is available for your platform and set the parameter as described in the readme file.
He has worked in the past with of Datadirect ODBC drivers. Unfortunately it failed for some Informix drivers.
Rather than buy the Datadirect ODBC driver, you may also think of the use of the DG4IFMX. He is certified with 7.31 Informix.
