Of HP Pavilion XP Home, no disc

My son bought this laptop of his friend, and we want to restore the factory settings.  On the start menu, I have an option of restoration of the system, but only at an earlier date, not factory.  F10 brings up the BIOS setup utility, but I don't see the option to restore or to make the disc any ideas?

Good. You should always what to do with a used computer.

System Restore is a completely different function than what you want.
You need an installation CD. Contact the manufacturer of the laptop to
help on how to do it. They might be able to sell an inexpensive
CD of XP, but my guess is that, given how old XP's and you
were not their customer, they may not.
If this is not the case, your only other choice will be buying a copy somewhere and it
will probably be a used copy. If you buy a used copy, remember
It is the retail not OEM.

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • HP Pavilion 27-n190st: software (disc) HP PhotoSmart 215 issue...

A couple of years ago I bought a Hewlett Packard PhotoSmart 215 digital camera.  It came with a software disc with a program of type PhotoShop pretty cool and easy to use (on a separate disk).

Over the years that I've updated the computers I always reinstalled this program.  I really like and likes to manipulate photos with it.

Now I have updated a 27-n190st Pavilion and, apparently, it does not load the disc.

Does anyone know why HP does not support their own HP software on one of their own HP computers?   Or how I can get this drive to load?

On the cover of the disc, it reads ' hp photosmart 215 ""software camera","ArcSoft"" C8890-15300 ".»   I guess that this link I cannot download the pictures I took show a better description.

Any help from your really smart computer people would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

Thanks for the quick reply Banhien.  Much appreicated!

  • Vista Home Premium disc

Own 32-bit edition of Vista Home Premium.  The disc could not be found, but I have the key code.  Microsoft offers such a product?  The current installation is faulty... this disk can perform a complete installation on another drive? Reactivation would be necessary?  Image of the tied product.  Advice requested

    Hello

You don't say if it came pre-installed or not, Dell, HP, etc.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

I have a disc of original home installation win xp, but have lost the product key that was on the box of the cd, how do I know what is the key?

If you have a computer on which the product has been installed AND it is a retail version of XP Home (not a version installed at the factory where you never entered the label key), you can use a program of keyfinder to retrieve.  I usewww.magicaljellybean.com keyfinder program for this purpose.  Even if you have a hard drive that had the operating system installed on it and it still can be read in another computer then the tool load the hive in this program will be found the product key.  Otherwise, you're out of luck.

Routers "dual-band" can use one or two channels to send a signal to your devices.  If you have not a double router broadband, then it is most likely using the 2.4 Ghz frequency band.  I guess that no one has brought any internal changes to your router recently.

Have you tried going to the Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network Center and sharing, then the "solve problems" link at the bottom of the page?

  • Order the system Vista Home Premium discs.

I bought a Toshiba Satelite laptop about 9 months, ago and never got around to order Microsoft system disks.  Now I want to upgrade my RAM to 4 GB and try the 64 bit version which should be available on the disks in the factory.  Now, I can't find anything on the windows site on the order of the original disks, only upgrades to different versions of Vista and Win 7.  So I guess my question is, can someone please point me to a page or section of the site to order disks Vista system?
Thanks in advance for any help.

You do not get them from Microsoft.

And as your Vista system is preinstalled, it is classified as an OEM license and that you are not eligible for the 64-bit Media (shipping offer)

Permit only right retail 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.

  • Installation of W7 Ultimate on W7 Home (w / disc)

    Hello

    • I have a copy of W7 Ultimate on a drive, and my computer came preinstalled with W7 Home Premium. I was wondering how do I upgrade my existing copy of W7 Home Premium to Ultimate without losing all the files (as I had for a year now).
    • I was also wondering if I enter an activation code or product key.
    Thank you
    Ben

Use the product key and the Express Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade.

If the license for Windows 7 Ultimate, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Ultimate edition at the request, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate files the stored settings and programs.
