Office Intitializing for USB redirection

Hi all

My view 4.6 environment runs just find unstil the upgrade to 5.  Jeutiliser then another connection broker for external users, and since the upgrade my users have no USB redirection.  When you pull down the menu, it shows initialization of office.  IS this a new port that must be open on the firewall?  All internal users is not the issue.  Any help is appreciated.

You are right, USB redirection uses 32111 and there is never an annoyance.  I hope you get it worked.

  • USB redirection works with a view Windows Client that connects to a Pool of RDS running Server R2 2012

I installed the Agent view Horizon (6.0.0) and direct view connection Plugin (6.0.0) on a physical server running Windows Server R2 2012 with desktop Services remotely active.  I would use the USB redirection from the client to the server.   When I connect to the remote desktop session by using the Windows Vista client, he tells me that the USB redirection is disabled.   I tried connecting the View Client to the server view connection and directly to the RDS Server with the same result.  I need to activate RemoteFX on the Windows Server running RDS for USB redirection to work?  I don't have any hardware remotefx, that's why I have not yet tried.

USB redirection is not supported on the RDS (2008 or 2012) guests in Horizon 6.0.

  • View the 5.1 USB redirection on the internet?

    Hi people,

If I connect to my USB LAN of my work of Flash drives very well redirect.

If I log on the internet they do not.  No detection equipment, does not appear in my computer at all.

One of them blinks as it wants to connect but does not work.

Should I wait for USB redirection to work well on the internet like this?

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    romatlo

    Hi Romatlo

USB is synchronous and very 'chatty '. For a peripheral storage appear in windows (so FAT format) then the entire FAT table must be read. This can be very large, depending on the size of the storage unit. Often, nature chat transfer and latency for each round trip of a message can mean that the device takes several minutes to appear in your guest virtual machine. If the lights flash as you describe, so I would hazard a guess that it actually works, and if left long enough then the device appear...

There is more information in my blog here: Redirection of USB devices in the Horizon of VMware View 5.1 and 5.2. Blog from VMware Computing end-user - Articles VMware

In addition, in my KB here - which offers some suggestions to improve performance (a link to this blog): http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&externalId=1022836

In short - for better performance, try to reformat the device using NTFS rather than FAT. Lower latency of the network will help - but - is probably not in your control!

  • USB redirection for users on site / off site

I would like to set up 2 different strategies based on users off-site or on-site (zero client). One of those who are the USB redirection.  I would like to disable the USB redirection for my users off-site and enable it for my users on-site.  My question is... during testing, I disabled USB redirection and my mouse and keyboard continue to work.  I was expecting this does not work.  Can someone please explain this?  In addition, no matter what recommended for zero client devices?  Thank you!

unless you change the 'default' settings, keyboards and mouse (even if they are plugged into the usb ports) are not treated as usb devices. Keyboards/mouse are considered essential and redirected via another "channel". This means that you don't need redirect USB to work for keyboards and mice to exploit.

If you really want, you can change this (IE so that they are treated as usb devices), but you get better performance if the default mode of treatment for these devices is left in place.

This applies to zero and soft clients.

disable access usb for off-site users (assuming they don't use zero clients), the easiest way is to block port 32111 on doors. This will prevent the usb traffic is routed to the guests. Internally, anyone using a soft client can always use port 32111, or if they use zero customers then use the usb port that is built into the payload pcoip.

If you have some users outside using zero clients, how you can block these use usb will then be discussed with Teradici.

    hope this helps at all,

    see you soon

  • Problem with USB Redirection on Horizon View Client v2.3.0 for Linux

I had a problem on the USB Redirection when connecting to the Server of VMware View by Horizon View Client v2.3.0.

    1. Here is our configuration:
      1. Server:
        1. Horizon View Server 5.5 + Windows 7 Enterprise VDI
      2. Client:
        1. Thin client (TI ARM platform - 8148)
        2. Horizon View Client v2. 3 for Linux
        3. USB Flash: Kingston 8 GB USB 2.0, FAT32
    2. The issue: USB flash can not redirect to VDI successfully.
    3. Some status on our test:
    • The USB is plugged USB port on workstation before connecting to Horizon view Server 5.5
    • Light client can recognize and use USB flash to the local site.
    • When we connect to VDI, we can see the USB driver is responsible for research and installation, but windows VDI() reports fail to install the USB driver finally. It seems that VDI trying to acknowledge the failure of USB flash but finally.
    • It is held even Let's restart the workstation and VDI.
    • Attached file is the log of the Horizon of the VMware View Client.

    All welcomed to this topic?

Unfortunately the newspapers show much... (note: they do not contain client-side logs)

one thing I thought well... since he is a computer thinClient - we have seen the questions that manufacturers computer thinClient some of their own 'management' software install on the client. He often tries to do things with usb devices (maybe try to share them between a receiver client citrix application and view client app or maybe just there is a citrix receiver application installed too). In our experience, we've seen these apps interfere between them as they try to hang the bottom of usb devices down into the kernel.

as such, could you try stop any 3rd party services - either citrix or your provider of thin client and then try again.

If the problem persists, can you be sure to also collect these log files from the computer thinclient:

    Windows client

    • %ProgramData%\VMware\VDM\logs\debug-*.txt
      AND
    • C:\Windows\Temp\vmware-SYSTEM\vmware-usbarb-*.log

    Linux client

    • default /tmp/vmware-root/VMware-view-Usbd-*.log
      AND
    • / Library/Logs/VMware/vmware-usbarbitrator -.log

for reference, the Agent-side usb connects:

    • %ProgramData%\VMware\VDM\logs\debug-*.txt

  • USB Redirection problem

    Hi team,

I have a problem with the USB redirection in my VDI environment. Political redirect USB was to allow the user to connect the disk and cards to chip. The user is able to connect the USB, but there are compatibility problem that is not all key USB can be used. Some of them is not available in my virtual office, even if it is caught on my Wyse thin client. This USB thumb driver works very well on the physical machine.

    (2) most of the external USB hard drive does not appear is not in my virtual office. I have try that 5-10 USB: the external hard drive and only 1 can appear in my virtual office. Is there any challenge to connect NTFS hard disk or thumb drive in VDI environment? I have NTFS USB stick that don't appear in my virtual office in the first place but when formatted in Fat32, it is on my virtual office.

    (3) USB Scanner & printer. How to connect and use the scanner or standalone USB printer on my virtual office via my Wyse thin client?

  • ThinPro with VMware View USB Redirection

    Hi all:

I'm trying to configure my workstation (t620 ThinPro 5.1 running) to start required services necessary for USB with VMware View forwarding at startup.  I tried to add the command to /etc/rc.local and created my own init.d script, but none of these options automatically launch services.  Run manually /etc/rc.local and the custom init.d script launches the services successfully.

Has someone managed to get the necessary USB redirection services running at the start?  Any guidance is appreciated.

    Thank you.

Solved my problem... changed under USB Manager Remote Protocol of VMware View.  Updated this setting caused VMware services to run at startup.

Yes. There is no problem with their two different versions of
Windows. The files contain not what anyone who still marks that
Windows version they were created under.

But there is a potential problem. If the files have been created with a
another version of Office that you have, you may have
Difficulty reading the. For example, Word 2007 and 2010 creates .docx

Hi Robert, what version of vWorkspace connector are you using? In the most recent versions, we have included an option to fix precisely the discs which are connected after the connection is established. The option is in the local resources | Another support plug n play devices | The devices that I plug in later. If you do not have this option and then move your connector vWorkspace to v8.0 or 8.0.1 consider David

  • Can't get USB redirection to work

    Hello.

I have VMWare View 4.6 assessment and have register and downloaded the binarys. But I missed something pretty basic.

I installed a connection to the server running on a virtual server Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard and it seems fine since I can connect to a virtual machine in Windows 7 x 64 with an HP t5740e view Client 4.6 running on PCoIP. I'm not under VC, and all machines are running on a host ESXi 4.1 on a Cisco UCS C200 which makes all the difference.

I chose the option "Auto-connect USB devices" on the connection bar, but if I connect a standard USB key in the client, it does not apper in the remote session. I checked that USB redirection is enabled in the server connection policy, and that the driver of USB device on the client and the remote computer is turned on and seems to work as expected.

What to do to make this work? I've linked also to examine the log files that is produced on the client, but I see no error or so, but I really didn't know what I should look for. There is no firewall does not block traffic. The Windows Firewall is enabled for both the client and the remote session.

    Best regards

  • View of 4.5 + Wyse TCX USB Redirection + V10LE

Hello, I am new to these forums; I turned on these forums for advice/help with the current implementation, I'm working on that.

    Some basic information:

We bought 250 Wyse clients V10LE light, two servers Dell Poweredge R900, VMware VSphere Standard (8 CPU) and 2 x Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter Edition.  Our original deployment was a set to serve as a virtual server 08 VM servers terminal Server, the V10LE attached to these Terminal Services virtual and received the server-based desktop computers.  This has proved to be a major disaster, and now the 30 users on these clients we have deployed suffer daily with constant crashing and inability to do their job.

Current situation: we changed our game plan to integrate VMware View.

In the tests, I first tried the view Management Server 4.0 (older Version) after some violins, we were able to get workstation to work perfectly in the environment of the view, keep in mind, this environment did not use VMware view composer that I was unaware of his abilities and just had to test.  I was able to get the redirect TCX USB to work perfectly by installing more server on windows XP VM workstation connected in.  We were able to redirect brother multifunction printers and use all the features of the printer as if it were installed on the local PC.

Having discovered how perfectly it would solve our problem, I decided to try the 4.5 administration package view.  This is where I ran into problems.  TCX USB virtualization does not AT ALL.  The client detects the device USB, TCX client-side working properly, the server suite is installed on the Backend (XP Win VM persistent no).  I have now installed and use the portion of the administration of the view composer, composer use capabilities are incredibly beneficial to our environment.

I tried to install the Agent from the view on the XP desktop with all the modules, including the USB virtualization, the transfer did not work at all.  After the suggestion of installing the agent without USB redirection with a Wyse tech support person, I tried, same results.  I don't know what the differences are there between 4.0 and 4.5 view server, but all that has changed is not to allow this to work.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

In 4.0, there's an option under view connection server settings so that the login server to "Direct connections" on the desktop. This basically ignore the login server and your client to connect directly to the virtual machine. This was necessary for a lot of TCX to work in 4.0. I don't see even this option in 4.5, then perhaps the problem, you see?
