OfficeJet 4636: print quality

Hello!

My printer will not print correctly. A self image explenatory (notice how the text is wiped out; also happens when you print plain text):

What can I do? Thank you!

In the paper here troubleshooting steps can help solve the black print is not correctly on your Officejet 4636.  According to your printing it seems that you have a defective black cartridge.

If the first three steps of troubleshooting documents do not resolve the problem, you can try the cleaning cartridge manually as follows: take a cup of coffee and put 1 "very hot (not boiling) water in it.  Remove the black print on the printer cartridge and put nozzles in the water for about ten minutes.  After soaking, remove the cartridge and blot dry electrical contacts, and then reinstall the printer and run a cycle of cleaning, and then print a test page.

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your printing problem.

I understand that you use a HP Officejet 5740 e-all-in-one printer with a PC of Windows 8 and the printed text has black steaks through every few lines. I would like to help with that.

  • OfficeJet 6700 Premium - how to set the default print quality of 'normal' of the "draft."

    Hello

    Thank you for your help.

    I have a printer/all-in-one Officejet 6700 Premium.

Most of the documents that I print is for internal purposes, so "Draft" quality is sufficient.

The default factory on the print quality setting is 'Normal '. I know how manually enter and restore the "draft", but I'd rather have the defaultproject, so I have to reset it manually each time.

I could not find how to permanently fix the draft quality defect.

Again, thank you for your help.

    George Mathis

    Thanks George,

which is fully answering my question indeed

Please follow the steps below to change the quality of the printer:

    1. Click the Start button.
    2. In the menu, click devices and printers.
    3. Right click on the HP Officejet 6700 icon.
    4. Click Printing Preferences.
    5. Enter the tab paper / quality .
    6. Select the project in the area of quality parameters.
    7. Click OK to save the settings.

Now any future printing will be in draft quality.

  • OfficeJet j145 all-in-One black print quality deteriorates

When printing of plain black text (ie. text in a Word document) deteriorates print quality.  Black text seems to be more than a dark shade of grey/purple.  If the printer does not receive heavy use I have never had to change the printheads.  I ran a few tests provided in the User Guide and have never got the message "Change print heads" appear on the printer as indicated in the User Guide if I needed a replacement.

Is this sounds like I'm needing a new printhead black anyway?

    Thank you-

Thanks for the post of Bob.  I ran the test report and the ink levels seems to be ok; expired ink cartridges are June 2010 so we are ok.  The printhead of the report information section displays status = OK for the printhead (cyan, magenta, yellow and black), however the rectangular box above the black status area washed out looks like at best.  The print heads have been installed 30/04/2003.  I'll replace the print head back and see if things improve.

Thank you once more for the information; I really appreciate it.

  • OfficeJet Pro K8600 - my print quality is mediocre... some colors are missing.

With the exception of the first inch or two on a page of my printer seems to only print in red and yellow. He begins the ideal search for 2 or maybe 3 inches and then looks like there only red and yellow ink in it. The ink cartridges are all new. How will I know if the cause is my print heads? If so, should I replace both of them? Thank you!

Here is the link to a document that deals with bad print quality for your printer model. It will give a troubleshooting to try to establish the quality of the production printer. In this document, it will show you how to print, and then read the diagnostic report.  It will show you what models of test on the average of the leaf when it comes to the health of the print heads. I hope this helps.

If you reach the end of the document and have not fixed the problem of printer output; sought to be the replacement of the product.

If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. • Ink is full, but the print quality is not good with HP Officejet 7000

I was printing on CD labels/stickers just now and noticed that even if I chose Normal / the best print quality, the result is always the same: it looks faded, and as if I'm out of ink.

There are not any warnings I was running out of ink, but I replaced the cartridge anyway. However, print quality has remained the same. Should I set in the settings? Help.

PS, It might be useful to know that, because we bought this last end of July 2010, we only used two or three times, never until today.

I hope you help me find a solution for this. Thank you!

Apparently, the way out is the cleaning cartridge and harmonizing.

  • print quality

I have HP officejet Pro 8600.  When sending e-mail using eprint.

    (1) how to configure it to send to the printer and print using lower quality (project) in color or B & W?

    (2) is there a possibility to limit the pages # to print?  (incase didn't realize an email or attachment is very long), as a stop-gap protection?

    Thank you!

Hi there, if you use the ePrint service by sending an e-mail to the e-mail address of printers is not a way to set print quality settings. However if you print from a smartphone or tablet, you can set the quality of the individual print jobs by downloading and using the application mobile ePrint. Here is a link for more information http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/smart-phones-handhelds-calculators/mobile-apps/app_details.html?app=tcm:245 - 1220078 & platform = tcm:245 - 1220080

Hope this information helps and feel free to post back with more questions.

I just bought the HP OfficeJet 6700.

    The print output is horrible.

When I print or copy pictures or whatever it is colored, it prints very pixilated and dark.

Does anyone else have this problem? Y at - there a solution or is this a bad printer?

I always had HP printers and loved it... I don't like so far.

If you are having print quality problems, it could be caused by a number of things.  I suggest trying this document.

  • Keep hp 6700 in good shape: automatic weekly print quality diagnostics page?

    Hi all

I recently purchased the Officejet HP 6700 Premium, and I'm worried to keep in good condition, because I had to replace my previous canon due to a print head stuck printer (the photo a black, I has not been used for a long time).

Given that I have don't print a lot (but I use a lot the ADF scanner) and the other members of the family printed sporadically, most of the time in black and white, I would like to setup a printer to automatically print a diagnostic page every week to make sure that everything is fine.

Using eprint, IFTTT and google calendar, I automatically send a file to print (I have already set up the printer to wake up a few minutes before the calendar event) with the black and the color bars (someone suggests to print the homepage of google because it has many colors but uses little ink).

Is there a chance that I can directly print the print quality diagnostics page (so I can fully diagnose a problem if it occurs)?

    Thanks for the attention

    Cheers to the Italy!

    Hey,.

To clarify for you and meet your new questions about auto maintenance printers.

The maintenance cycle occurs randomly. It will happen after any power, after that print jobs (not everyone) and once that it printhead to 'think' health is poor. As mentioned above the printer must be turned on for this to happen.

You can if you still want to print the odd test page just to check once a month would be adaquet.
If you want to be energy saving and are to turn it off, then you would like it to be turn at least that runs the automated service that happens every week.

I hope this clarifies it for you. Thanks for your posts.

  • OfficeJet 6182: Prints only red

I print out a document and everything was fine. Press an another doc, and this time a little more liines were red I wanted. Tried again and ALL the lines were red. Any settings not changed. A diagnosis and everything seemed normal, including all the places appropriate balck ink.

In the original doc, only two names were red fonts. Now, everything is. I use OpenOffice and it almost seems like the all got doc coded for red, which makes no sense.

Hey Kevin, thanks for getting back to me.

Please try the steps from the link I posted for you below. If you find the problem when you have completed the steps, the print head is most likely to blame. If this happens, I suggest getting in contact with HP directly (info below), on a replacement printer.

  • Officejet6600: HP6600 poor print quality

    Hello

I'm contiinually having to perform the function of print head cleaning before I can print with my Officejet 6600. Once the cleaning is finished, the print quality is fine. Before market more printing is smudged, blurred, or missing, and is often black only (i.e. without dye).

The printer is around the age of 6 months and had this problem of 1 day (I know, I'm lazy). I seem to be consuming almost all of my ink just get clean print heads.

According to the HP tool, the print heads are ok. The cartridges do not seem to be a vent in them, this correct?

I would appreciate any suggestions, please?

    Rob.

    Very strange!

I was about to call HP support Australian. I had to make some impression so used the 6600 and it now works perfectly. I used it several times last week and he has not missed a beat.

  • color HP 6600 print quality has deteriorated despite cleaning

I tried all three levels of cleaning, and I still have horizontal lines on print test page in boxes of color at the bottom.  I can't, I'm trying to print green or blue.  Can my 6600 be saved?

    Hello tomster0075,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you get horizontal lines on the page of test and in the colored boxes using the Officejet 6600. I will do my best to help you! The only suggestion I can supply following this entire document from HP on the streaks of ink fixing faded prints and other common Print quality problems

You can try to clean the print head again until you receive a satisfactory quality. Try to align this printer as well since you receive a few lines on this test page.
