OfficeJet 6182: Prints only red

I print out a document and everything was fine. Press an another doc, and this time a little more liines were red I wanted. Tried again and ALL the lines were red. Any settings not changed. A diagnosis and everything seemed normal, including all the places appropriate balck ink.

In the original doc, only two names were red fonts. Now, everything is. I use OpenOffice and it almost seems like the all got doc coded for red, which makes no sense.

Hey Kevin, thanks for getting back to me.

Please try the steps from the link I posted for you below. If you find the problem when you have completed the steps, the print head is most likely to blame. If this happens, I suggest getting in contact with HP directly (info below), on a replacement printer.

    Hi, I have an Officejet 6500 (E709n).  I also have Windows 7 64 bit.

After looking into your problem, a bit I found a thread on another forum with what appears to be exactly the same problem. Below I will include a link the the wire and instructions on what has been done to solve the problem. I would like to know if it works or not.

  • All-in-one HP Officejet 8610: all-in-one HP Officejet 8610 prints only part of an image using photographic paper

I have problems printing of photo paper. Pictures print correctly if printed on normal, ordinary paper, but as soon as I said that the paper is "Other Photo Papers", part of the photo is printed and I get a message saying that he had an impression of the error. In fact, it is said that he could not print even if the part of the photo prints.

In this case, if I use plain paper to paper using this setting. Of course, I want to use for setting photo paper. In addition, change the quality of normal quality makes no difference.

I tried to see if I could print the photo on photo paper using ordinary paper settings, but two pages are printed on: a bit on photographic and more on the paper.

  • DeskJet 970Cxi: Deskjet970Cxi prints only one color

My Deskjet 970Cxi prints only red in the color mode.  The cartridge is new and everything is cleaned.

When the cover is open, the pointer on the cartridge holder stops at the position "OK to print cartridges".

I tried reinstalling the driver, but I don't know that I managed to do that.  I got the idea that HP doesen't supports this printer more they told me to use the driver that is built into the software to my Windows 7.

    Any clue?

The question is probably a very old #78 cartridge, even though it was new in the box.  You can verify that this is the cartridge by gently dabbing the printhead on a damp cloth.  A working cartridge will have a strong task of cyan, magenta and yellow.  Your cartridge will show only magenta.

You can check the date of end of warranty for the cartridge as shown in the document here.  So that the 78 cartridge has not any expiry as such that they may not print in one color if stored for an extended period.  There are a few "home remedy" measures that could be taken to recover printing cyan and yellow, but the best solution would be to get a new cartridge (fees).  You can find the end of warranty date (two years from the date of production) in the bottom right of the back side of the packaging unopened.

If you want to retrieve the cartridge, you can try one or more of the following:

    • Treatment of the cup of tea: get a glass of water and put in 1 "more or less very hot (but not boiling) water.   Deposit of the cartridge into the Cup and let soak for about 10 minutes.  Then, take the cartridge out and Pat the nozzles on a wet tissue.  Wipe the contacts with a clean or similar coffee filter not fluffy.  Install the cartridge in the printer and print a test page.  (You can print a hardware test page in accordance with method 4 of the document here.)
    • Sock of treatment: get an old sock that bothers you not ruin.  Put a wet cloth against the nozzles, then put the combination in the sock with the nozzle pointing in the toe.  Now go outdoors to an open area and quickly swing the autour sock in a large circle for a minute or two.  When done remove the cartrdige and gently pat dry the nozzles on a wet cloth, then put it in a printer and see if things have recovered.

[Did I mention the best bet is to get a new cartridge?]  ]

  • HP Officejet Pro K550: HP Officejet printing only in yellow

Despite the change of all cartridges in my HP Officejet Pro 550 k, I can't get the printer to print in uneven yellow?  I have reset the printheads several times and it has not solved the problem

    Does anyone have any suggestions

    Welcome to the @karandy forums

I read about the issues you are having with your Officejet K550 printer because it is only print Yellow ink in clumps. As you have already changed the ink, I wouldn't recommend this even once and unfortunately looks like an internal malfunction. However, please always try the rest of the troubleshooting steps in the guide that I found for you below.

If the problem persists, call HP directly to discuss your printer options.

  • Printed in red ink only

My printer prints in red only - I have checked the settings on the laptop. The cartridges are fairly new. He is recovering also several sheets of paper and the paper has been realigned. It drives me crazy. Can anyone help please?

    Hi chiquestrian,

Follow the steps outlined in the document below.

    Troubleshooting print quality problems

  • HP OfficeJet 8600: Print using black ink only

We use our printer as a copier only.  It is not connected to a computer.  Why do the color cartridges run out of ink and we cannot print black print.  We print any documents using color.  Is it possible to turn on the black only?

Sorry, but the HP Officejet Pro 8600 has separated from the inks and printheads and requires that all inks are available to avoid damage to the print head.

You can minimize the ink used with the following steps:

    • Use draft mode when the quality is sufficient.  Draft mode uses about half the ink or Normal or best mode.
    • Power switch of the printer only allows to turn off the printer.  If an external switch (as a protector or output impulse) is used more ink will be used at startup.

HP and other printer manufacturers have technology another printer for different needs.  For ink jet printers:

    • Some have integrated into the ink cartridges print heads.  These printers can print generally with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black cartridges (but not both) removed. The Officejet 8040 has us an example.
    • Other printers have separate replaceable printheads and inks.  An example would be the printer Officejet 8600.  In these printers print head can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors off.  Some of these printers allow printing with a color, the other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or several colours, the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send to the printer for the service.
    • Other printers have permanent print heads.  To run only those without little ink in all colours would risk causing damage to the print head because of clogs, air ingested in the printhead or grilled printhead resistances of shooting. The Officejet 6700 is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed print heads that could require the service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.

The document described here how the ink is used.  The document is written for inkjet printers HP the same principles apply to printers inkjet from other manufacturers.

If you do ever print color laser printer would probably be a better choice.  If you occasionally print color but especially black a HPI printer as those in the first category above can be a good choice.

  • HP officejet 6978 all in a single p: hp officejet 6978 printer all in one, appearing to create its own wifi signal

After I had my printer connected and working properly, I looked in my wireless options to connect to the internet. I have hooked the fine, but in these choices, was a connection option in/with? a hp officejet 6978 printer all-in-one. Before you buy and hanging upwards, connect this option was not there. Now, this is the case and showing a stronger than my router signal. This printer is able to be a wifi connection? Any ideas?

That's great. I see nothing in the instructions, and the seller does not mention either. It seems to me that this feature would be another selling point. I do not necessarily want to disable it. I like the idea of having him as a backup, if my current one falls down, would only be an option? If so, I tried to connect using pw of my router, but cannot connect. This would have a default PW? is so, how do I find it. So thanks for your help. As I said nothing even alluded to this function...

  • HP Officejet 4355 printer suddenly start very slow printing! HP technician advice needed!

    Hello
My all-in-one HP Officejet 4355 printer start suddenly feel very very slow! I've had it for 4 years, and God never gave me any problems (maybe minor once, but never really made me mad), as I used it very often at home and at the office. I always buy the HP original ink cartridge (only once, when I wanted to see how works the charging - it's not) and now the last cartridge has been in the printer for a month or two, nothing unusual, and suddenly my printer starts to print very very slow, if normally it took 10-15 sec for a black and white page now it will take 10 to 15 minutes. Could someone suggest help?
Please don't talk about the computer/Windows/USB settings, they all work very well. I unplugged the printer from the PC and don't "align the print cartridge. First step, the printed area, took 10 minutes, second step, part of scanning, does not pass. It says printer cannot allocate the alignment page...
Moreover, I did look around for answers and found that some people say it's a fault of the ink cartridge. But I used this cartridge for a few months now, it's almost, but not yet finished, it was perfectly up to printing. Impressions during this issue come out OK, 7 out of 10.
Anyone have any ideas? If I could attract professional assistance of technicians of HP, it would be perfect.

    Thank you.

Although they still ink cartridge may fail and give the results you see, where the printer made a bandage and wait 10-15 seconds for the next Strip. This is caused by the failure of one of your cartridges.  Remove each cartridge and clean the contacts on the cartridge and printer can solve the problem.

I don't remember if the Officejet 4355 reserve mode supports, but try the following: remove the black print cartridge and print a test page.  The printer prints at a normal speed?  Is therefore the black cartridge was the issue and needs to be replaced.  If it isn't then, put the black back cartridge in and remove the color cartridge and the test page printed.  If the printer now prints speed the color cartridge is responsible and must be replaced.

  • OfficeJet 4622 prints not Windows 8, but will print from Linux

    Hello world

I have an OfficeJet-4622 printer set up on my network (wireless) and two computers. The first is a portable computer running Windows 8, and the second is a desktop running Ubuntu Linux. Both have HP (and HP Setup) drivers installed. When I try to print something from the Windows 8, it will start printing and then say that year error has occurred. The print will be print part of a page, nothing or half of employment and a white sheet.

However, if 'copy' of the printer, or print from the Linux computer, everything works fine. One thing to note is that I'm using remanufactured cartridges, but they should not cause a problem on a single computer only.

I am at a loss here, so any suggestions on what to do to solve this problem are greatly appreciated.

Thank you and have a nice day.
    Patrick.

I think I solved the problem eventually. On one of the posts of post-its, it linked to a page where you can use the automatic installation wizard. I did, and it reinstalled my driver (s). He had said the previous installation was not completed successfully. So I'll try again to print. The print came out fine. If the previous installation must have been the problem.
