OfficeJet 5740: officejet 5740 connectivity

I can't my Officejet to work with a Windows 7 PC 5740 connected network. The printer works very well with a Mac, a machine to win 10 and my iphone. Print and scan the doctor shows no error, but no test page prints. The internal test page prints correctly. There is that no error then no installation, printer is recognized, but simply, it will not be printed. I tried to disable antivirus and firewall without result. I uninstalled, reinstalled several times. Other suggestions are welcome as I am at my wits end. Thank you.

Problem has been resolved. Recommended by HP support officer to try another driver as the driver 5740. The other driver to a different printer corrected the problem.

    Hi @HPENVY3,

I want to help you with your Officejet 5740. I understand that you have connected it to your PC with a USB cable and after you shut down the computer the printer loses the connection when you restart the PC.  I don't want to try to place the blame by all means, but it seems that the problem is related to Windows 10. In any case, I'd be happy to help you!

You have the printer connected to a 2.0 or 3.0 port? Also, you are using the PC port or a hub of some sort?

The image below is some examples of 3.0 ports.

  • OfficeJet 6600 connects to the wifi network

    Hello

I bought an Officejet 6600 and effortlessly connected to my wifi network, print and scan for a day. And there are two days that he stopped conntecting to the wifi network. In the meantime, our router turned off and turned back on. That's the only difference.

First of all, the printer would not even detect the wifi network. I solved that by changing the configuration of the router (Cisco 3925 EPC) and passed under the Setup wireless "Wi - Fi protected setup" to "manual". I can now see the network on the printer again.

But after that I've selected my wifi network and enter the WPA password, the printer tells me that the network connection is impossible. I printed a page of diagnosis, which told me that the problem is perhaps related to the MAC filter. But I have no MAC filters. I also tried to pass of WPA/WPA2 to WPA only, but that doesn't change anything.

I also tried to set the mode wireless via the USB cable, but no avail. Everything seems to work, until the moment when he tries to connect to the wifi (screen with 'configuration' with the large antenna and pulses of radio waves).

Should I give up and bring it to the store? I'm getting desperate!

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Raphaël

OK, to make sure I understand - the printer connects effectively to your wireless network, and well it works for a while once the printer goes to sleep, your computer or router may not wake.

If this is the case there are a few things that we can try:

    1. in the settings of your router, make sure that the multicast is enabled.

    2. set the 2.4 GHz router to 11 channels.  I know it sounds weird, but please try.

    3. set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

  • Wi-wired and OfficeJet 8620 connections?

We have a little wired Ethernet network.  We intend to install a HP OfficeJet 8620 multifunction printer tomorrow.  I understand that for an Ethernet wired only, I just connect the OfficeJet to our router, then install the drivers on each workstation.

Unfortunately, our situation is more complicated than that.  Several people want wireless devices can print to the OfficeJet 8620.  We have a working wireless network, and wireless devices are able to access it without problem...

All devices on the network (wired or wireless) using the same router, which has wired and wireless Ethernet ports.  So everything is on the same network, through the same router.

8620 documentation reading, it seems that you have a wired or a wireless connection, but not both.  Apparently to connect a CAT-5 cable to the port the printer Ethernet disables WiFi the printer functionality.

If this is true, what can do us to activate the wired computers and communicating mobile terminals to print the 8620, given the structure of network I described above?

Thank you very much for any assistance you can offer.

  • OfficeJet 6700 connectivity

I installed an officejet 6700 all in one.  My PC under XP is connected to a router via ethernet. The 6700 is configured to be wireless.  2 laptops running W7 and ipad are able to connect to the printer wirelessly with no problems.  The PC keeps losing connectivity.  The printer is updated to firmware.  Reboot PC allows you to print, but then the connection is lost again.

    Hi dbgabe,

OK, that indicates that there is connectivity between the computer and the printer. There is something installed when you try to install the printer on the XP computer that is blocking communication. I disable all your programs security (firewall & Antivirus) software and then try to reinstall.

Let me know what you find?

    Hmm ok,

In this case what you can try is to IOA a stacic IP, which may help. You can do it on the internal page of the printer by typing the ip address of the printer in your browser. Let me know if you need more details for this.

YES, you can plug your desktop and wireless USB printer to your laptop, and everything will work perfectly.

You will need to just download the drivers and software for each device.

  • OfficeJet 6835: Connection printer/fax to the single telephone line with answering machine and DSL router

I change my current 2 lines phone/fax with answering machine setup and router DSL to a single line.  I have the right instructions HP and all the necessary parts and wiring diagrams, but I can't determine which of the now used phone cords is 'special' one provided in the box with your printer.  Instructions for the installation of a line saying I should use this cord between the DSL filter and the 1-line port on the printer for reliable fax.

How can I identify this original HP cord?  And, in case I can't, what makes it "special"?

    Hi @Atlantico,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support with your request.

I understand that you change the way that your fax is installed on your HP Officejet Pro 6835 e-all-in-one printer and you want to be able to identify the phone cord supplied with the printer. I would like to help.

Usually the phone cord supplied with the printer is black and a 2-wire telephone cord. There are basically 2 types of telephone cords, 2-wire or 4-wire. cords 2 telephone wires are the most basic phone cords and because the fax was built around the analog telephone systems, this is the type of cord they suggest to use.

You can identify a phone cord of 2 sons looking at the end of the connector that you plug into the phone jack. Please see the attached diagram below.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

What router?  You can get in its settings? If so, search for "Isolation wireless" or just "insulation" and disable it.  This setting blocks communication between customers Wi-wired and on the router.

  • How to set the parameters of scanning on Officejet 6500 connected to a Mac?

I'm trying to scan documents and pictures using the following:

    Scanner: HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z all-in-one
    Computer: Macbook Pro retina
Operating system: OS X mount Lion
Application: "HP Scan" (this application was provided by HP)

Whenever I have analyze anything, it comes out in grayscale at 300 dpi resolution.  At least, this is what HP Scan tells me when I click on the "Info" button in the lower right.

I would like to be able to scan things in color rather than just in grayscale, and I wish I could choose the resolutions other than 300PPI.  But I looked everywhere in the graphical interface of the HP scanning application, and I can't find anywhere to adjust these settings.

Did anyone here know how to change these settings?

Unfortunately, the link you provided is a version of the software much older than what I have currently installed.

HP_Installer_Inkjet_Full_Group02_10.3.dmg was published on 14/09/2009, and it is intended for OS X 10.6, aka Snow Leopard.  When I installed the printer installation CD had software pretty much at this time, and he refused to install on MTN. Lion.  Instead it asked me to download the latest version from the HP website.  What is installed on my machine is a file named HP_Mountain_Lion_Ink_SW_v12.23.18.dmg.  Unfortunately, I neglected to save the URL I downloaded from, and I can't seem to find him.  But I saved a copy of the .dmg file in case I ever need to reinstall.

Meanwhile, I managed to find the answers on my own.  Part of my problem is that, although I'm fairly familiar with Linux and Windows, I am new to the GUI of Mac and his metaphor interface and GUI desktop is different, enough of these I'm familiar with what my instincts are sometimes not a lot of help.  Then, it took me days to notice the only critical button that made all the selections, I was looking for visible.

HP Scan DO allows you to set things like the Type of Scan (photo or Document), Mode (color, grayscale, black & white), resolution and a number of other parameters.  But we must first click on the "Scan" button... ", and then click on the widget of the arrow to the right of the selection of the Scanner.  By clicking on the arrow pointing downwards in fact all other settings appear.

If you change the Type of Scan of photo of the Document, it automatically changes color in grayscale Mode, which does not want to create a color PDF.  But you can change the Mode back to color.  And you can save this document as a PDF searchable to call the I.R.I.S. OCR software on it.

To create a multiple page PDF, or let the software analyzes all sheets in the document feeder, or place another page on the window and click on the button 'Add' in the lower left corner of the window, how it displays the same dialog box that is displayed when you click 'Scan '. ».  You can click on the arrow down and change the settings for each page or leave them alone and they will remain the same as the parameters of the previous page.

When you have analysed all the pages that you want in a single document, click 'send '.  This displays the usual selection of files box.  At this point, if you set the 'Searchable PDF', or 'PDF' format a checkbox will appear marked "save all items in a single file.

Thus, it seems that HP Scan works with MTN. Lion, it provides all the features that Capture of Image and seen I.R.I.S. integrated in it, it provides OCR features that Capture of Image is not.

  • Officejet 4500g510g connection problem

The printer constantly alternates of connected and disconnected as displayed on the HP Solution Center does not allow me to fax or scan but allows me to print

    Hello VinhLong,

When you connect a device to a router router assigns the device an IP address. There are two types of these assignments. You have a dynamic IP or static IP address.

A dynamic IP address can change and is automatically assigned by the router. Whenever you reboot your computer, printer, etc., the router can assign the unit a new IP if for some reason he can't use it. This is the default setting and is what most people use.

An IP address is an address that you essentially hard-code in the router which tells the router whenever this device connects to the network assign this IP address. Using the static IP address performance and connectivity is generally improved.

Since you have a connection problem, we should see if we can stabilize the connection hard coding a static IP address on the router and the printer to the printer to use when connected to the router.

Information about setting up a static IP address were taken from this article for troubleshooting HP.

The "Printer not found" error message during the Installation of wired (Ethernet) network in Windows XP and Windows Vista

The article is not completely relate to your problem, but we use it to capture the static IP address instructions.

The DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol () service provided by the router can change the Internet Protocol (IP) address on the HP product, which interferes with the network installation. An IP address uniquely identifies the product over the network.

Follow these steps to assign an IP address does not change to the product by the built-in webserver (EWS).
