  The printer make compatible with Windows 8.1, however only basic functionality is available.

  HP Director is part of the Windows XP software, it is not intended for any later operating system.

  First uninstall all incompatible HP software from the control panel > programs and features.

  Then, follow these steps to install the basic drivers available from the Windows Update servers:

  You can scan using Windows Fax and Scan or paint, only scanning photos is supported you will find listed in the frequently asked questions section.

  There are 3rd party solutions that can allow some additional features, you can try NAPS2 which is freeware software to scan PDF as an example:

  I see that you have a problem with an error "the paper is too narrow" on the printer.

  Please make sure you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

  I have also found a document that deals with one "Paper Mismatch", or "Paper Size Mismatch" Error Message displays when printing.

  I was in the middle of printing and the message remove and check cartridge came. the cartridges are fairly new, and that was before printing.  I checked and cleaned the cartridge, but I still receive the message.  I have windows 7, so I can't check the ink level.  What can I do else.

  Try cleaning the contacts of the cartridge and printer as shown on this page.

  I have a HP OfficeJet 6110xi all-in-one and that you have installed HP C6437A printing accessory two faces. I can't print on both sides of the paper. I set printing preferences (double-sided (duplex) printing.

  You may need to adjust the installed equipment.  For Vista, it would happen by going to the Printers folder, right-click on Officejet 6110, properties, parameters, Options and the value of the duplex unit installation "installed".  For XP, there will probably be a similar setup.

  If you are using Vista, you will probably find that the duplexer prints on the back backwards.  There is a patch to correct this, as described here.

  My hp officejet 6110xi all-in-one that seems to work fine, but after the 'printing' the page comes out blank. I tried a hard reboot and have gone online to make a diagnosis of HP print - the diagnosis has not detected a problem, but when I printed the test page, it was empty.  Any ideas appreciated!  Thank you

  Probably your cartridges have dried, perhaps due to power the printer before removing the cartridges were lucky to the Park.  Try to run the three cleaning cycles to the Toolbox, as described here , then try to print a page of test, as described in this page.   If there is any suspicion of printing (even a few strands) then the electronics is OK.  In this case a more thorough cleaning cycles can help.  If this isn't the case, then soak the print head in about 1 "of very hot water for 10 minutes or if can wipe the nozzles.

  If there is still no sign of printing, this may indicate a power failure of the electronic control unit of printer.  You can check the cartridges dabbing them on a damp cloth.  A good cartridge will leave a dark spot of cyan, magenta and yellow or black according to the cartridge.

• Utilities HP Pro 8500

  So I just bought this HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless.  I also just upgraded to Snow Leopard.  The Officejet works very well since the software preloaded in Snow Leopard, USB and wireless.  The only part I can't get are all the options that come with the HP.  With my HP Photosmart C7280 old all-in-One, it was a HP Device Manager.  I could choose to scan in PDF, which is no longer an option.  It seems like a possibility to add the 8500 to the Device Manager, but I don't want to try the drive, because it says expressly do not to run it with Snow Leopard.  Any ideas?  Enter "Print & Fax" in the preferences of each time is heavy and it does not give me the same options.

  Well, I guess I've found my own solution - it was very simple, to whom.

  After I couldn't do my HP Photosmart C7280 scan filled previously perfectly no matter what I tried (that's all since installing Snow Leopard), I went to the download section of software at HP.  Now I had summer warned not to install the HP under Snow Leopard software (by a record accompanying my HP 8500, as well as several forums on the 8500).  I was so afraid I might screw something up.  I couldn't find a download of the software AIO specifically for OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) C7200 series, I gave it a shot.  After that I downloaded and installed the software for the C7280, the new HP utility allows me to access all my printers (I also have an old Officejet 6110xi), place an icon for HP Scan in my doc and generally to customize all my settings.

  It's perfect!

  While I no longer need this, I checked to see if an OS 10.6 download for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g was also available, and it's.  For all those who work with this camera, I recommend that you get the download.  I am convinced of the usefulness and other functions are the same and will seek to properly manage all functions of the device.

  OS 10.6 Snow Leopard includes drivers for my HP 8500, but the feature is not the same as with the HP utility.

  I am running OS X Sierra on 2012 MBA with an HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer / scanner.

  I noticed that after the upgrade to Sierra that the scan function no longer works... I tried to uninstall / reinstall the device, but the problem continues... I have checked the Apple Web site and notice that the HP OfficeJet 8600 is listed as a compatible scanner.

  I note also that the 8600 OfficeJet is connected as a printer via WiFi network and worked perfectly with the captain.

  responsibility to provide drivers to work for an update of the OS is with the developer of this device, not Apple. visit the page of the developer for your make and model camera and see if they offer drivers, otherwise contact the developers. Apple will sometimes provide printer drivers, but if a device is a legacy printer the developer may choose to retire it from use.

  Airport utility is not related to operating an MFP. It there is no scan via airport utility function or any what router airport. That is, the printer must be connected through its network and NO USB connection to the router. What is the Airport base station is the printer is simply a network client. No printer function any is active via the airport.

  You must install the drivers HP and the complete software for any OS that you are running on your computer.

  It's the HP drivers and software that will allow you to scan over network. Or if NOT, maybe... often scanning on network is problematic.

  The steps I have mentioned must be done on the printer screen, not on the computer.

  On the printer screen, press 'Fax'-'settings'-'fax advanced settings'. Once you scroll through the menu options, you will find the "ringing" or "ring volume" option. Select, then reduce the volume.
