  • New installation on windows 7 pro 64-bit sees not connected wired Officejet 6500 E710a-f

    Hello!

New installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on a gigahertz 3.40 AMD Phenom II X 4 965 with 8 GB of ram. Printer drivers worked on the same bench while he was running as Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
After only install FF, AVG, and Acrobat (almost a clean install), downloaded the software HP Officejet full feature and pilot 2012-10-22, Version: 116,98, 28.8 M - OJ6500_E710n - z_1315.exe and tried to install the Officejet 6500 E710a f.

The printer has a manually set static IP and can be ping from the host. Clean Windows Firewall is disabled and stopped.

The web interface using the IP address of the printer comes with all the features works on FF.
Network status shows connected with IP address, hostname and Mac.

However, when installing the network audit is no ethernet connection. Even manually enter his public static IP address or hostname does not solve the problem.

Try the USB, the same question option. I see in Device Manager under other devices HPOfficejet 6500 and 6500 HPOfficejet - Fax with a blue questionmark.
(In the same "other devices" there are 2 Officejet 6500 with a yellow exclamation point - probably from failed network installation).

In the printers and devices window, the 6500 is displayed with the correct thumbnail, but with a yellow exclamation point icon. Law and by selecting the convenience store, Windows comes up with the message that no driver is installed and offers a solution.  The correction ends with the error that no drivers not found for the FAX. Re-apply the patch never finds the driver.

Anyone who has met something similar (and a solution)?

    Thanks for any help!

    Jack

After trying to do an install clean-install of 100% and once again, the driver software could not find the printer name or IP address.
Back at each stage, I noticed that I was not using the correct driver! For some reason I D/L the pilot E710n which is for HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One.
Whatever the difference, when installing the E710n for the model does not detect the printer, or via USB or Ethernet.
After you download the right driver for the E710a - f HP Officejet 6500 a e-All-in-One Printer (OJ6500_E710a - f_1315.exe) installation perfectly finished in a few minutes and everything goes well...

You would think, base or USB connectivity network should not be dependent on the specific differences sub-model. I was expecting that a bad driver interrogate the device after finding its IP address and display an error message with useful text.

  • OfficeJet 6500 E710a-f: how to download the latest firmware and the BASE driver for my Officejet 6500 on Windows 7

I'm looking for a way to download the latest driver and firmware base packages for my Officejet 6500 E710a-f for Windows 7, x 64 (latest patches and service packs applied).

Regardless of the road I take (including the link called "Download drivers"), finding drivers inevitably leads me to the same page that contains the vertical tabs named 'Troubleshooting', 'How to' and so on and none of the links - not even under 'options to support more' - led to a Basic downloadable driver package. In fact, none of them leads to a downloadable driver package of all kinds. The most that I could find is that package Wizard driver installation that attempts to download the package that I am not interested in-oh and a few mentions in the KB articles downloadable driver packages.

I also tried "Printer Setup, Installation" & Setup and then variously "Installation, install & connect printer ' and 'Software updates' & Firmware, which none offer a downloadable package.

This used to work perfectly fine a few months ago, but now I'm getting round on the same page over and over again. I can not find the basic driver or the software for the printer more.

Where can I find the basic driver package (used about 30 MB in size) in order to avoid the crapware included in the package (130MO) "full feature" more great who gets automatically downloaded to an unknown destination on my hard drive using this driver installation wizard. It's my PC and I want to be the one who decides in which runs when and how. Now I can try to track down the location of download using ProcMon and what not, but it would give me is this package 'feature complete' with a bunch of crapware added on strictly necessary. How to get the base driver package?

    Thank you!

Never mind. Fascinating, the "Download drivers" link under the Support tab at the top leads to a different page that the link "search for drivers' next to my question posted .

Both methods require enter the name of the model (after picking "Printers" in the first case) in a similar way, but the former led in circles on the same page with no possibility to download, while the latter one immediately takes me to the downloads, I was looking for.

  • My HP Officejet 6500 E710a-f can communicate with the router or wireless access point

I don't even know if my printer supports wireless or not there only ethernet logo on it and no wireless setting in its control panel as shown in the manual, I plugged on the router via a cable many years ago but now, for some reason, I need get the router of the printer if it can communicate with the Wireless router and if she can , how it will be, and to ensure in this... • Can use ePrint Officejet 6500 E710a-f and EWS, but cannot be installed on the network

    Hello

First of all, thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Us have just got an Officejet 6500 E710a-f and I would use it on our network. Unfortunately, none of our computers seems to be able to find it (Windows XP, Vista and OSX 10.5.8). On Vista and OSX machines, firewalls are permanently off. The XP machine is a laptop to work on that I have no control.

My first thought was that it was our somewhat strange network configuration; the printer is connected, but I plugged it on an Apple Airport Express ethernet port so that it works as a bridge for the printer on our wireless network. However, the printer appears in the list of connected devices to the router and the impression of the State of the network said that everything is fine. I can reach the Web server integrated for the printer, go to the printer to get sudoku online and other via applications and, most strangely, I can email jobs him via ePrint perfectly happy.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Suddy.

Now I tried to connect the printer directly on our router and it worked perfectly. I then tried to have a look at the parameters in the Airport Express, but got an error I did a factory reset on the subject. Low and behold, the printer is connected to our network wireless via AE now works fine.

Sorry for wasting your time, it seems that this must have been questionable configuration throughout. I just thought that since the printer could see the internet through EI, so the connection should be fine. I'm still not actually.

    Thank you.

  • HP Officejet 6500 E710a: HP Officejet 6500 E710a Scan but not print

I have a HP Officejet 6500 E710a.   He has worked with every other printer I connected to.  It can scan via the USB on my laptop Lenova connection but will not print documents.  I have Windows (Win 7).  I tried all the options troubleshooting including uninstall of the printer and allowing windows to find and automatically install it but no good.  Then, I made an update of the driver printer full of windows and tried with the latest dirvers HP Officejet 6500 Series E710a, but still not good.  The printer is connected directly to the laptop via the USB port - without hubs etc. What can I do now?

Mysteriously, HP sent me an update tonight. I installed it.  I also reset my impression of parameters by default (not that she needed). Turned power off and then back on. Restarted my computer and magically something I am woring on since a week not working finally.  I PRINTED A TEST PAGE!  Thank you for reading my HP forum page. You are the best!

  • All-in-one HP Officejet 6500 has: paper size or the type of error message problem

    I have a HP Officejet 6500 all-in-one a and am running Win 7 on a desktop computer.
I get a paper mismatch (type and paper size is incorrect) error message.
The printer is not connected to the internet, but it is connected by a USB cable to the computer.
I look at the instructions to make an internet connection and they were just too complicated. So I download the update of the firmware and ran to the computer. He would not go beyond the area of printer selection where no printers were found. Clicking Refresh has not helped.
This update of the firmware seems to have solved the problem for some users, but I need to know how you install it.
    Thanks for your help.

    17/03/2015 #2

I think I solved the problem. I went to the website to download drivers, etc., and, rather than to specify the printer, I clicked the button to let HP identify it. It came with the correct name (see post) preceding. Then, I downloaded and installed the full feature software and driver. The first attempt to print from Excel led to the mistake of page size, but, on a whim, I tried twice and had two successful prints without error. Until further notice, I mark this as solved problem.

    Thanks for your help,

  • OfficeJet 6500 a: Officejet 6500 a will not recognize the network password

I did a print wireless for years with my Officejet 6500 a and Windows 7.  I have a new computer with Windows 10 and a new router with the new network.  The printer detects the network, but he repeats to me that the password is not valid.  I used the password successfully for my phone and iPad.

    @literaturelover

    Some things to check are:

If you have not yet done, (re) install the software feature complete for the printer:

  • OfficeJet 6500 icon does not have the software to start

I have windows 7 on a hard drive and windows 8 on the other disk.

I downloaded the latest software and driver for printer Officejet 6500 E710n-z.

I installed 3 times and each time everything installs successfully but when I click on incontinence on my destop, the software does not work.

Yet, I can print to the printer and its in my printer folder.  I can scan with the scan icon, but the main icon that starts the program does not work on windows 7 or windows 8.

The main icon gives all the choices I want to do with the printer.

The same link has steps to perform the patch manually as well

    I work for HP!

  • HP printer Assistant opens two notebooks on HP Officejet 6500 a more instead of the wizard

I have a HP Officejet 6500 has more used with Windows Vista 32-bit, and wireless. When I click on the printer icon to open the Printer Wizard, it opens two documents Notepad instead.  The first is the HPSPProgress.hta - block-notes, and the second is the HPSolutionsPortal.hta - block-notes.  I used the control panel to uninstall the printer and then went to HP.com to reinstall the printer twice.  This has not changed the problem.  I also have a laptop computer that prints on the same printer wireless and everything works fine.  When I click the icon on it, it gets the necessary information, and then opens the Printer Wizard.  Is there something that I am missing here or what I would do.  I also ran the tools of diagnosis HP printer and it returns the printer works properly. There has been no other changes or programs installed before the occurrence of the issue.

    Hi stwy2hvn,

I'd take a peek at this post by pcwizard.  This solution has worked for others.  Let me know how it goes.

  • OfficeJet 6500 a more connected to the MacBook is not found by the HP utility, although it prints

I recently upgraded to a Photosmart C5280 All-in-one to an Officejet 6500 has more for use with my MacBook.  The installation process was much more difficult that it should have been, particularly wireless configuration stage (the input field to get the WEP code was not active).  Since the installation of the printer that I use a USB connection to print and scan - I prefer to print using a wireless connection, but this feature seems to not work, even if the onboard display indicates that the printer has connected successfully to our local wireless network.

I installed the widget dashboard and it detects the levels ink correctly, but when I click on the button of the device to maintain on the widget the HP utility warns me that it is unable to detect the printer, even if the printer is offline, and I can print them out and scan using the USB connection.

I am also unable to print double-sided, which is an important feature, I want to be able to use.  No double sided button "print" or the checkbox appears in the print menu with all the applications that I usually use (for example: Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).

    OK, OK - progress!

We will restore the print system:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

  • My iPad does not recognize not my Officejet 6500 has, unless I turn the printer off and then on again. Why?

I recently changed my router from BT to Technicolor gateway provided by Utility warehouse.

Previously, my iPad easily recognized my HP Officejet 6500 printer has (ethernet) but now this isn't unless I have turn the printer off then on again.

Of course, it is a pain. How can I solve this problem?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

It seems that the new router may not support multicast or was not configured correctly.

Networking Hello Zero Configuration Apple is the method of communication used by any Apple device and relies on IP multicast.

Some routers does not support multicast or maybe this option is disabled by default.

I wouyld recommend contacting the Technicolor gateway serice provider and check if the access point supports multicasting, or it may require updated firmware or the specific support configuration.

    Kind regards

OK, time to get aggressive. We will manually remove HP components and then reinstall. I hope that you still have the driver download you got on the Apple site that we need this a little. For some of the following steps, you will need to enter your password when you are prompted.

Actually before we start, if you'd be willing to collect a little more for me I would really appreciate it.  What we are about to try is a treatment for the symptoms without fully understanding the root cause.  You have been very helpful with the information you have provided so far.  Thank you!

    Issues related to the:

    * Are there frameworks HP installed in your folder/Library/Frameworks?  More precisely is it a copy of HPSmartX to this place?

    * What are the permissions on/Library/Printers/hp and/Library/Printers/hp files?  (Select a folder and then press command-i to bring up the information window.  Sharing and permissions are at the bottom of the window).  I expect to see something like: System: reading writing & admin: read & write, everyone: read-only.

    Steps to follow:

    (a) open system preferences-> Print & Fax. Remove your printer from the printer list.

    (b) navigate to/Library/printers. Delete the folder "hp".

    (c) navigate to/Library/Image/Capture devices. Delete "HPScanner".

    (d) access to Library/Image Capture/Support. 'Delete the Hewlett-Packard folder.

    (e) go to Support the application. Folder "remove the Hewlett - Packard".

    (f) launch (in/Applications/Utilities) Apple disk utility and repair permissions on your hard disk.

    (g) turn off your 6500

    (h) restart your Mac.

    (i) turn on your 6500

    (j) use the Apple Installer to install HP printer drivers.

    (k) open system preferences-> Print & Fax. Add a device to the list of printers.

    (l) cross your fingers, Open Image Capture and try to analyse.

    Please report the results.
