OfficeJet 6700 & USB & wireless

My 6700 Officejet accessible by USB to my desktop PC and a laptop wireless at the same time?

Yes, printers may have a USB connection and network at the same time.

What they don't have is two network connections at the same time.

Connection to a computer via USB and other on the network should work.

Honestly, there is no need to have two connections, if all the computers are connected (wired or wireless) to the router with the printer.  Unless you prefer having two contacts which is fine.

  • HP Officejet 6700: print wireless

Whenever I want to print wireless, I get bored. I could get my mac to print wireless, but the connection is never overnight. I don't want to have barely grows every time, I wonder if I am doing something wrong or is simply not compatible with mac wireless printing? My hp laptop has no problem printing wireless. Any help/advice is appreciated! I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and re-set up the connection, I was able to print wireless just after, but now I can't. The wireless network print shoes an excellent connection, everything happened and IP addresses are very good as well.

    Hello

Try to remove the printer and then add it again by opening the Preferences tab and then selecting «printers & scanners»

From there, click on the sign less under the printer icon to remove the printer and then add again using the sign.

This is often useful if you are currently outside experienceing printer issues regularly.

  • OfficeJet 6700 Premium: Officejet 6700 Premium - Support for direct printing HP (Ad Hoc) wireless

Please can someone confirm if you can set the to either ad hoc printing or using HP Officejet 6700 Premium Wireless Direct. I can't find anything in the user manual.

The situation is that a friend has just moved into his own office with a connection high speed standard with a wireless router, in 'Serviced Offices'. These connections allow broadband to the office and he has to pay for a dial-up connection to the internet.

So he paid for two ethernet connections which probably come out through internet gateway of the complex. However, he lost the ability to print at its 6700 HP that has been previously set up wireless. He tried to install the printer using infrastructure mode by connecting to the network without wire of the complex, but still can not access the printer. It could be that the wireless network is on a different network for LAN connections segment.

The only solution I can think off is to let each PC with ethernet for Internet connection and install a wireless dongle in each PC to connect to the wireless printer. However, as noted above though I can't find the instructions for the Officejet 6500 to print Ad Hoc has nothing in the manual for the 6700.

    Is this possible?

I'm on my third set of ink cartridges, including the black cartridges scence XL that I print almost exclusively in black.

I get about twenty pages until the cartridges need to be replaced.

    It is a joke.

HP Announces hundreds of pages, but you get to price a little and then another ink cartridge. He used ink color, even when printing in black only.

I pay almost $1 per page, with this cartridge.

It becomes cheaper to buy the printer to price low and throw it away when the ink dries.

I have installed my HP Officejet 6500 to the HP Officejet 6700 new mainly for convenience in printing and scanning wireless.

Since upgraded the old 6500, I naturally expect performance to be better. But the issue of scanning wireless is really frustrating.

Size of the same documents on usb wired and wireless performance difference.

Managed to solve the problem after several trail and error.

Apparently, there's a bug with the program. Tried scanning wireless with indexable pdf, but instead of normal pdf, file size file is back to normal.

  • wireless connection netgerar DG834G and hp officejet 6700

Hello, I work on a MAcbook Air, and I tried to connect the portable printer hp officejet 6700 with netgerar DG834G wireless, but without success. I try to manually add the printer without result. The config. the hp printer report says that everything is ok, but the computer is not able to find it. Before I was using an air connection and all connections were ok. The unrest started when I tried to connect the printer to the router without air inlet. I followed the procedure, but the computer says that it is not possible to find the hollow wireless printer (works with usb). It seems that the problem is between the router and the hp printer.

I followed the suggestions posted and I changed the channel (6) and the IP static address. The works of the printer until it enters mode works with this change. How can I put it to sleep? The only option I have is to swich between 5minuts or 10 or 15.

I do not know if what I have done is ok

Could you help me, please? Ester

Hello @ester61 , welcome to the community!

If you are using WPA2 security, WPA Personal mode.

  • OfficeJet 6700: Wireless printing on HP Officejet 6700

HI - please help me until I was completely bald and gray!

I have a client with a HP Officejet 6700 in a SOHO environment. 2 / 3 PC can print wireless to the printer, but it is one that cannot. It allows to be able to print until about 2 weeks ago.

I've disabled the firewall and uninstalled the AV. I ran the software of the printer doctor and it detected everything ok. I put a static IP address and power cycled the router, printer and PC. I've updated Windows. I uninstalled the printer completely and reinstalled. I can ping the printer ok and connect to the web interface that says that it is connected. I ran the update of the intellectual property and it detects the printer ok.

In the control panel of the devices, everything seems normal and then I'm going to print and it says cannot communicate with the printer. Then he said: offline until I delete the print job and it goes back to normal again.

As mentioned, we have been able to print from this PC ok up until just a few weeks and we can still print other pc and the control panel of the printer. The PC still has access to other devices on the network.

Would it be a faulty network card in the printer?

    Any suggestions would be welcome!

    Thank you
    Glenn

    Hi 8Lives,

I tried to uninstall the software and reinstall but there is no improvement.  I noticed a few other funny things going on as well as Firefox was working but not Internet Explorer, Office 365 said he didn't have internet connection so authenticates not etc etc - so in the end just reinstalled Windows.

Once I reinstalled Windows and loaded the printer drivers, everything now works as it should have been.  Looks like it was more than just a printer problem.

Thanks again for your help - it is certainly appreciated.

  • OfficeJet 6700 Wireless will not be installed

I tried to connect my officejet 6700 without cable.  I am able to get the printer to connect to my network and when I print a wireless network test, it says that it is connected, switch on everything.  I am able to ping the printer as well.  At first when I tried to set up the printer, my computer could not find the printer.  Now, it seems that it can find the printer, but it will not install. I used the HP print and scan doctor, and he said that I had to install the full version of the software that comes with the printer. I tried to reload the software that came on the disk with the printer, and will not install successfully.

    Hi Wally,

Thanks for the reply.  I am running windows 7 professional 64-bit.  He just said "installation failure," anything else.  Since my last post I was able to chat online with an hp support person, and they made some kind of a work around.  Instead of trying to install as an officejet 6700, installed the driver for a deskjet 6950 and added a protocol TCP/IP port with the IP address of my printer, and that seemed to work.  It is now printing from my computer and my iPad.

  • Wireless laptop can not find the wireless Officejet 6700 printer

My laptop can't find my wireless printer Officejet 6700.  Printer is on the wireless network but the laptop cannot find it.  Laptop the wireless.  Have cisco router on my NBN skymesh satellite.  Have you tried printer setup in the control message panels reads:-printer is not found.  Using windows 7.  Have tried to use scan doctor, turning his router unpluging printer and electrical power to the router. Still no luck.  Printer is about 1 meter portable.  Do I have to set up a home network and connect like that.

If you can easily plug the printer into the router using an Ethernet cable, who always beats wireless!  Try it!

  • OfficeJet 6700 wireless

I can't install this printer according to the instructions. I want wireless for my laptop. The instructions have me first of all install it in USB. Any fine. Now, he wants to use the printer, and then select "change in wireless. everything is fine but the laptop cannot find the printer even with the wireless printer on.

Main problem is the cable usb is still plugged in and it blocks the release of the wireless printer. It does not work. The solution was to unplug the USB cable, bring up the Control Panel, printers display, then add PRINTER. This allows you to select Wireless and everything works. You have a USB printer and a wireless printer. LARGE

Now I need USB to my desktop printer. As soon as I turn on my desk, he kills the wireless laptop to my wife. She is not happy.

Another problem... When the printer goes to sleep, he turns off the wireless. You cannot print from a remote location without first putting the printer wireless back on. This has real problems sharing...

Paul, who was the last piece that I need to know. This configuration will not work long term.

The 6500 is a wireless printer that is designed to work in conjunction with a router. The way you connect the printer is a free limited-thread-to-peer, and this ad - hoc connection is usually lost in a short span of its activation.

The loss of your wireless network is not related to your printer in the mode 'sleep', but the two events coincide with each other. As I said originally, the problem is related to an underlying network problem - in this case, there is no underlying network.

The way you currently, you will only be able to have a stable connection via USB, because the ad - hoc connection is disconnected after a period of time (it is a feature of ad-hoc connections).

Your two best options here are either install the printer through the USB port on both computers and connect the cord to the printer when you need to print or, if you already have an internet service provider high speed, you can set up a network with a router and connect the printer by USB, wireless, or Ethernet connection.

    I hope this helps!

    • Other computers are able to scan wireless unit.

Are there other HP file or file windows called scanner of HP who participates in the scan Communication that must be added or tried?

    A short history:

After spending 4 hours and countless computers, printer, router restarts, channel changes etc, on the phone with HP printer support, to solve this problem, I was called back to my firewall provider (Trend Micro) when the product is disables scan works. (Yes, it's the same question that I started.)  As you can imagine made me unhappy...? Since I had already made contact with them for advice on how to configure the product before posting here in the first place and, possibly, appellant assistance from the printer.

The solution was finally trend had me to rename a file in the registry, which, I presume, caused the trend product regenerate a clean version of the file.  As trend firewall exceptions had already been saved, scan over wireless works now! I post the location of the file and registry name, unless you use the identical product etc. to modify your registry database is scary business.

Naturally, because it was just going to be like that, scan network worked, but then the network printer showed offline and I couldn't online despite shooters evil etc.  In the end today I completely uninstalled the product and the resinstalled it and now everything works.  Hard to be too crazy about HP, when, notwithstanding this saga, HP was right to send back me the vendor of the firewall... everyone gets their turn in the barrel of the dysfunction of the technology, and it was mine.

What a striped set incredibly complicated of technologies that we depend on.  Travis, thanks for your help and trying on it.

    Other details available on request...

I've had this printer for several months now, I have had no problem connecting to my wireless network and connect computers, telephones and other equipment to this.

A few days earlier, when starting the printer display flashes with the useless error message, error in the printer, turn the printer off and back on.

I have power cycled as requested and received the same message, over the power of the cycle he mentions turning off the power button and no DISCONNECT of the sector. Until then I had never disconnected from the sector. After that I have several attempts to power cycle the printer is off and removed the sector, has waited half an hour and powered on again once.

Still stuck in a loop. He also briefly flashed a blue screen with the error B81431CB. So brief that it is almost useless. I had the boot sequence video and pause playback to read error!

After some research, I decided that she was experiencing problems connecting to the WIFI network. So, I turned the wifi on the router and the printer network started as usual. Internal menus are now available and I can print status and so forth, so at this point I can exclude defects of ink or mechanism.

I went in on the printer network settings and reset the network. I'll also through the printer to factory default settings. I have reactivated the WIFI network to the router then went to install the printer again. Digitized for wifi networks and found mine. Entered the password for wifi and the printer could not connect. Everything is good, correct ssid, signal. Report shows wifi password is incorrect.

I have try several times to connect wifi password is certainly correct, but the printer refuses to recognize the correct password. I tried a different router, the same result. Says incorrect password. Also I tried WPS and a PIN, said still fails to connect.

At this point, I have disabled all security on the wifi network. Bingo, printer connects to the network, but starts with the loop of error mentioned at the start of the tour and turn it back on. This above has been tried several times, the factory reset, everything ok, turn off the wifi security, the printer connects and goes in a loop.

So, at this point wifi is confirmed to be defective. I decide to directly connect a LAN cable. Once the LAN cable is connected, a few seconds later the printer detects the network and goes back into its loop error. It will not just connect to a network via wifi or LAN. He previously worked on the network, and nothing has changed on the network, not new parameters or no new devices.

I connected a laptop to the printer via USB and that seems to work ok, but a USB connection is not ideal and defeated the convenience of a wireless printer. I also tried to reflash the printer in case there is a corruption of the firmware, but the utility detects that the latest firmware is installed and that it is not engaged.

    Now...?

OK I managed to make it work and I will try to explain the steps of my best.

As mentioned previously, I tried another router, I tried the wiring, and I tried to reset the router and the printer. Nothing seemed to work.

Out of curiosity I just put my phone in a WIFI AP. Tried connecting the printer and it worked. The printer connected to the WIFI phones.

So I know that the printer works on at least one access point.

Thus, in the settings of the router and firewall. The only thing enabled in the firewall have been

    IPv4 firewall protection
