hp officejet 6700 premium: officejet 6700 power switch on, menu and wireless unable to connect offline

my HP Officejet 6700 Premium

(1) display suddenly 'offline' from my computer.

(2) the indicator light is on, but no menu or wireless lamps are on... I can't turn on or off using the switch, there's just lit up

... I unplugged the power from each end and the led turns on as soon as it is plugged

... I have re-plugged directly into wall outlet

... I've tried everything on the site within my computer and HP

... uninstalled, then rebooted everything and re-installed

None of the software may "detect" the printer

My initial suspicion continues even after all that... that my printer is dead somewhere inside, and it has nothing to do with the connection to my routers, computers, etc. ???

However, my first notes that something was wrong was when I went to print and my computer says the printer is "offline"... Of course, I checked that setting now and he was not in offline mode in the settings.

Does anyone have a solution or the same suspicion.

I wrote HP and have failed for 4 days.

Thank you

Unplug the unit and let it sit for an hour.  Plug it into the wall directly, do not use any type of power strip.

    Hey @bhigh904,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I see that you are unable to activate the services Web on your HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-all-in-one printer. I would like to help.

When users encounter this type of problem, I usually suggest from scratch with the radio of the printer and webservices configuration.  You can clear all of these parameters in a swoop by the factory default restore * your printer.

    Here's how:

    * Note that this step resets the setting up your printer wireless, address ePrint and other custom print settings. If you have created a custom address @hpeprint.com it is permanently erased. For more information about custom addresses ePrint, click here.

    • The printer's front panel, press the Setup/key icon and then tap tools
    • Select Restore to factory settings

Then, touch the wireless icon () and run the Wireless Setup Wizard to restore your network connection.

Make a note of the IP address of the printer.  Then, follow these steps to configure a manual DNS:

    • Enter the printer's IP address in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer) and press ENTER to go directly to this page.
    • Click the network tab.
    • In the submenu on the left, click Networking.
    • Then click on the network (IP) address.
    • Click Manual DNS server.
    • DNS preferred as 8.8.8.8 manual entry
    • Auxiliary DNS server entry as 8.8.4.4
    • Click on apply to finalize this change.

Then, press the icon of Webservices () and reactivate your webservices (necessary for scan to e-mail, ePrint and other features).

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  If I helped you to solve the problem and that you liked this post, feel free to give me virtual accessories by clicking on the 'Thumbs Up' icon below and by accepting this solution.

Printer was working fine. In the middle of the night, there was a power failure. Now, the printer does not illuminate. The power indicator led lights when the power supply is plugged into the wall. It will remain on until the adapter is connected to the printer. Then the light goes off. The light not come back up until the power supply is disconnected and then reconnected the wall. The printer is almost 3 years old in April. The brilliant minds of ideas of the internet?

  • OfficeJet 8600 Pro +-switch lamp cycling light then dim

My printer Officejet 8600 Pro + is brand new and is connected via my cable network. It works perfectly until now. Wi - Fi and fax are also well (deliberately) turned off / disabled & unnecessary.

The power switch has a beautiful green light to indicate that the printer has "power" OK - and the lamp seems to have two "on" States, namely 'dim' and 'bright '.

The printer seems to go into "Sleep Mode" OK, and the control panel goes off as planned after my predefined interval 'Sleep '. (I do not use the schedule options).  She also wakes up OK when I send a print job.  Once again, everything is going well so far...

While the printer is in this state of 'ECO' of low power, the intensity of the Green switch lamp varies slowly between high heat and Sun, on a cycle of 6 seconds - 3 seconds to "quick", then 3 seconds to "dim" and it keeps road - bright then dim then bright etc...

BUT... and here's my question... This lamp should stay there "dim" while the printer is in sleep mode?
Alternatively, the fact that he is back to 'light' all seconds imply that it is somehow failing to STAY fully 'asleep '?

I can't find clues about this in the manual of the printer.

Maybe I should raise a query with people to Support HP, but I thought I'd ask here first.

    Thank you in advance.

    Edited to add:
I would be happy to know that any other Officejet 8600 owner (or the owner of any other model Officejet) sees this same high heat/Sun behavior on their switch lamp?  Thank you.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Unable to connect 2 laptop HP Officejet Pro 8610

I have 2 HP laptops each with Win7 (64 bit) SP1 and I'm trying to connect to the computer laptop 2nd in an OfficeJet Pro8610 to print wireless.  I tried using the CD rom and download the drivers online but I can connect this laptop to the printer.  I get to a point where the login process requires the printers claim id code but when I enter the code I got a message that this code is already in use (the other laptop is connected wireless) and in order to connect, I have to delete the other laptop.  I am at a loss here because I had both the same laptops connected to my old 6700 OfficeJet and could print without any problem installing wireless at all.

What I'm missing here with the 8610?  Thank you

The code you enter is likely to set up ePrint for the printer address.  Once this has been done it is not necessary to do it again.

An alternative is that the laptop is connected directly to the printer with direct wireless wireless.  In this case, you will need to disconnect the laptop computer from the printer to use the other laptop.

A better configuration would be to connect the printer to your router wither wireless or cable LAN cable.  It would give the IP address which you can find by pressing the front panel of the printer to the printer (if the printer is in mode "sleep"), then tap the wireless at the bottom of the screen.  This will bring up the LAN wireless status, where you can find the IP address of the printer.

You should be able to set up the printer with the driver available at http://www.hp.com/go/toolsinstallation wizard.

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z: PC and Mac both lose connection to Officejet 4500 G510n-z

I had problems with my PC wireless - used to connect via USB printing.

Now, I have a MacBook Air, so the installation of the printer driver is new. When you try to print or scan, it indicates that the connection has been lost.

Can someone tell me what to do to keep the newtork connectiom.

    Hello @haconnor,

I understand that you are experiencing intermittent wireless connectivity problems when you try to print from your HP Officejet 4500 Wireless all-in-One printer wireless computers. I would like to help you today with the resolution of this conflict of connectivity.

Now, just so you know, when you have a wireless printer wireless two works card or it doesn't. There is no grey area. When your printer connects to your network, even if the communication is intermittent, it proves that the network card works in your printer. The router is what allows your printer to the network access. Occasionally, routers will judge your printer as a tyring 'threat' to access the network communication and 'block '. This does not mean that something is 'wrong' with your router. It simply means that the router is too good job. At this point, I believe that the problem you are experiencing is a conflict of router. Can I please you follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

    Step 1: Powercycle the network:

    1. Start by unplugging the power cable to your router
    2. Once your router is unplugged, turn your printer off
    3. Then, shut down your computer
    4. After 30 seconds to 1 minute, reconnect your router back in
    5. Then, turn on your printer
    6. Turn on the computer

After a few minutes the internet connection will be back. Please check on your computer and verify that you can access the websites before you continue.

    Step 2: Check of connectivity:

    1. On the front panel of your printer, select the button Setup (key)
    2. Arrow to Print the State of law, and then select OK
    3. To Config network right arrow and click OK
    4. A report will now print. Locate the IP address on this report.
    5. On your computer, open the internet browser. In the address bar type in the printer IP address and the research on this site. Leave aside the www.
    • Opens a Web site for your printer: This indicates that your computer and your printer are 'talk' on the wireless network. You should have no problem printing wireless now to your printer.
    • If a Web site for your printer does not open: The printer is still blocked to communicate on your wireless network. Please follow the steps below.

Step 3: Restore the default settings:

    1. Click on the Setup button on the front panel of your printer
    2. Select the Wireless Menu
    3. Arrow on the right to reset wireless
    4. Select OK to restore wireless

Once the reset is complete, proceed to the next step.

    Step 4: Reconfigure wireless:

    1. Click the printer Setup button
    2. Arrow Wireless Menu on the right and click OK
    3. Select OK in the Wireless Setup Wizard
    4. When you are prompted, select your network name SSID
    5. Enter your password (key) wireless. It is case sensitive.

Once the wireless connection has be etre configure configured successfully, please try again to print wireless.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Should the matter resolved that temporarily until the printer does not again on the network, there may be additional parameters that need to be changed on your router. I look forward to hear from you!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Mac and printer do not connect

    Hello

I installed my printer operated a couple of months and it as a printer wireless to my MacBook. Everything went very well.

Yesterday I tried to print a document, but my Mac was telling me that the printer was not connected, even if the two were connected to the same wifi. I turned off both devices, reconnected the printer for wifi on the way home the password, but nothing has worked. I decided to 'remove' the printer from my Mac in order to reinstall it again. The software is installed, but I'm stuck in one step:

The printer is not and so I cannot connect my printer with my Mac, instructions say that you could also connect thorugh the printer using the Wifi the Printer Wizard. I plugged the printer several times to my wifi at home but I am not able to connect it to my computer, it does not find it.

I am really grateful for any advice!

    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the HP community @JETaubenberger ,

I read about the problems that you encounter when you try to connect your Officejet 8610 to your Mac via the wireless network. I have a few ideas in mind that should help connect you again!

    • Try power cycling network devices:

Turn off the printer and the computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press the buttons on the router).
Plug the router back in and wait another minute, turn on the printer and the computer and attempt to print something.

    • If the connection still does not, try the following steps in the following order:
    1. Reset the printing system
    2. Repair disk permissions
    3. Restart the Mac.
    4. Install the complete driver here: HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-all-in-one printer
    5. In addition, to download this driver: HP v3.0 for OS X printer drivers

You must be connected at this time, please let me know the result!

  • Compaq Presario SR1522X HELP power switch!

Help! For the life of me, I can't understand the switch on the front panel. How the hell does it work? My switch will not turn on the computer. I took the front panel off, and I'm completely baffled works even in the switch. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Fred

    Hello @Fred_W,

I understand that your switch does not work and you need assistance. I provide you with a guide on how to make sure it is plugged properly below:

Step 1. What is the power switch.

The power on / off switch and the hard disk activity and turn on the LEDs are contained in a single module.

Step 2. Where is the switch?

The module is mounted behind the wall front of the chassis.

Step 3. How is the power switch set to the chassis?

3 hooks on the module to fix to the wall of the chassis.

Step 4. When the power switch is connected to the motherboard?

I hope that this information helps to answer your question. Given the age of the computer HP is no longer wearing the power switch so if it needs to be replaced, you will need to find a 3rd party distributor. An online search, or possibly a local computer technician must be able to locate the part for your.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a wonderful day!

  • LifeDrive power switch broken switch

Help.  My Lifedrive is 4 years old and has worked well for the old technology.  However, the power switch broke.  In other words, it slips easily rather than move the on/off switch and does not have the power or not.  The last position has been LOCKED.  So I can't enter the data.  A soft reset brings to the top of the screen, but the screen has half shaded numbers and does not recongize being touched or tapped.  There seems to be nothing that works.  A hard reset is not possible because the on/off switch does not work.  Most of my data is synced with my computer.  But I did an interview with oral history and voice Memos do not sync for palm desktop.  So my questions are: 1) does anyone know how to activate a locked Lifedrive with a broken switch for power on / off?  (2) someone knows how to retrieve voice memos to a unit in this condition? (3) does anyone know how to fix a switch broke on a palmOne Lifedrive?  Really hope someone can help.

This is what it looks like after removing the plastic shell.  The piezoelectric speaker is attached to the plastic shell.

Disconnect the battery from the motherboard.  I use a small Flathead screwdriver to separate the connectors softly.

    Remove the battery disconnected.

Write it now, numbers 1 to 4 on the pieces of blue plastic that supports the microdrive; in this way, you won't get lost as all back you together.

The microdrive is connected to the interface of CF. There is a sticker of warning placed on the lower part of the microdrive and interface see cut carefully through the sticker between the CF card and the microdrive with the tip of the knife.  Gently, remove the microdrive from the CF interface with a flat head screw metal or equivalent.

Now the microdrive (in my case, a memory of 32 GB compact flash) is half disconnected from the interface CF.  Continue, making sure not to damage the delicate pins.

    Congratulations!  Completely unplugged.

Remove the microdrive (or CF memory).

Disconnect the cable of the microphone of the motherboard in the same way you did to speaker wires.

Unplug the connector for cable film gently with a plastic or equivalent flat head screw.

You don't want to have cables delicate film cut by accident, so be careful.

Unplug the connector for a another movie cable gently with a plastic or equivalent flat head screw.

Remove the two very short torx screws.

Finally, the motherboard is thrown, and you can see what happened to the switch.

The central internal switch at the top of the motherboard has proved to be in the locked position.

One of the two legs of the plastic piece was found to be broken.  The other leg looked ok.

I slipped inside switch to the unlocked position manually.

Another picture of the internal switch.  If the internal switch turns out to be broken, refer to

http://1src.com/forums/printthread.php?t=121887 and order a new switch from Mouser Electronics, www.mouser.com
    Part number: 688-SSSS7A0101
    Manufacturer part number: SSSS7A0101
    DESC: SP3T W / BACK WINDOWS
    Switches slide ALPS SMD
    RoHS: compatible

I think that your internal switch is not broken.

Put the motherboard back such as the plastic piece can slide the internal switch to turn on or off position.  Be careful not to break the other leg healthy in this process!

Put everything back together carefully.  You start your Lifedrive, you will notice that the date and time are the default, put it so well.   Good luck to you!

  • Equium L10-273 kept switching between battery and power

    Hello

I saw a similar post here and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they have had this problem sorted? My Equium L10-273 kept switching between battery and power all others second, which made it impossible to type, it's got worse and worse. I thought it was a problem with the power supply, but when I removed the battery from the laptop is ok running of the adapter.

This stopped now, I removed the battery, so I want to know is what someone has solved this problem by replacing the battery or it should be returned?

This laptop is less than 2 years old, but apart from his one year warranty.

    Hello

According to the description of your problem, I think there is a problem of electronic power supply. Sorry but there is not a universal solution, and I recommend you contact the service authorized in your country. Explain the situation and see what they say.

    (1) you can connect an Ethernet cord, and then go to the Embedded Web Sever.

    (2) you can install the printer on your computer by a USB cable. Complete installation, and then follow this HP document convert a connected USB printer wireless. Once this operation is complete, you can access the Embedded Web Sever.

Once you get this printer, follow these steps in the Embedded Web Sever:
