OfficeJet J6450 - printer connects wireless but does not print job cable modem replacement

Material: My printer is an OfficeJet J6450. I am running Windows Vista, current update.

Probably triggering the event: I replaced my modem docsis 3.0 with a doscis 2.0 modem. PSI has remained the same. All other software and firewall remained the same.

Dysfunction: After the replacement of cable modem, I found that I could print is no longer in my HP OfficeJet 6450. I would get an error in the printer window ' error - print. "  After the reboot after the publication of the initial error, I would get the error "error - sent to the printer.

What I did:

As a first step, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software for the printer (complete package with exception of PhotoSmart and HP customer monitoring program).

Use the connection for the network printer wizard, I entered the router password wireless to the printer. At first I don't have a connection. Then I rebooted the computer and the printer. I also returned to the default setting of network on the printer and repeated the configuration of the network. The connection was finally successful.

The automatic test of the network page and the network printer wizard confirms the connection. Digital display of the printer and the HP diagnostic utility has also confirmed the connection. But the diagnostic utility is unable to print a test page and throw an error - "Print Test failed.

The result disappointing:  I still can't anything to print wireless.

... Thanks in advance for your suggestions to get my printer back on...

10. we may ask you to share the printer. Choose No.
11. the printing area of Test Page is displayed. Go ahead and print it out.

  • Computer can see wireless but does not connect

I have a new HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 running under Windows 7 64-bit. The computer can see the wireless network, but when I try to connect to them I get a pop up saying "Wireless: assocaiting" followed by a saying "Wireless: disconnected" and the connection never works. In this case connect to any wireless network. I know that networks and passwords are correct, because my phone and iPad can connect to them without problems.

Nothing seems to work. I see a similar thread a few years ago in the forums but no resolution. I never got so so boredom before wireless connection and I can't help but suspect a hardware failure.

    Can anyone suggest anything?

    Thank you

OK, I realize, but this cannot help others, after raising a warranty with HP call, it turned out that my problem was hardware after all. HP sent a technician to replace the network card, but when he opened the laptop, it turned out that the antenna is detached from the card wireless altogether and reataching it solved the problem.

Like I said, probably not much help to anyone because it was a specific question, but I thought I would post the result anyway.

  • Battery "connected, charge", but DOES not charge.

    Hello

I've recently updated in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium.  With Vista, my battery played very beautifully and I've never had problems.  As soon as I have upgraded to Windows 7, I currently has the following problem:

When I hover over the battery icon in the system tray, it says ' 19% available (plugged in, load).  However, the battery is not at all.  The small farm level animation stops and, although the system seems to thinking that is my battery charge, it is not.  When I first installed the new OS, battery charges to 69% with the same problem, so he went up to 75 percent for about 1 week before in free fall, so that now my battery charge limit is 19%, which, as you can imagine, takes about 15 minutes to the battery power.

After several redundant and unnecessary communications with Microsoft, I thought that maybe someone on this forum might have experience with this problem or any suggestions on what I could try.

Note that it is NOT apparently common problem some people have with the battery saying "plugged in, not charging", that my system is specifically stated the battery recharges when it is not.

It took me some time to get even Microsoft agree the problem they insisted that it was because my battery is a bit old.  However, this happens with the two batteries that I own, using a charger that I have, and, as I said before, it started just when I installed clean Windows 7.

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • WRT54G2 - wireless router does NOT work well cable IS

What can I do about it?  Just buy a new one? I had a friend coming geek and he said something burned where he SPOKE.  Can someone offer any other explanation as to why wireless should be pickin the signal

As you are able to go online from your wired computer, you can connect to the Setup page of the router from your computer by cable and make the changes on the part of your router wireless.

When you connect to the router interface, click on the Wireless tab, below, you will need to select the Option "Manual Configuration", then change the SSID of a wireless network in your name name and below changes the 11 wireless channel and let the SSID broadcast should be enable, then click on save settings... Once you return to the page, and then you click the sub-tab "Wireless Security" and change the WPA personal security and in the Sharedkey or Passpharase enter your security key and click on save settings...

    Click the settings advanced wireless
Change the interval of tag to 75 > change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304 > click 'save settings '...

Now let's see if you can locate your wireless network and try to connect... If you are still unable to locate your wireless network, then I think that you need to update the firmware on your router...

Go to the Web site template linksysbycisco.com/downloads...insert in your serach tab... select the correct version of your router router... Download the firmware file... save this file on the desktop...

Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware of the device: -.
Open a page in Internet Explorer browser on a computer hard wired to the router... In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1... Leave name empty username & password admin lowercase usage...
Click the 'Administration' tab - then click on the 'Upgrade Firmware' under the tab-here, click on 'Browse' and navigate the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait a few seconds until it shows that "the update is successful," after the upgrade of the firmware, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned to the same page OR it will say 'cannot display the Page.

    Now reset your router:
Press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now re - configure your router...

Once you re - configure all settings of your router, check here if you are able to locate your wireless network, if yes, then try to connect. Once connected to the verification of wireless network if you are able to go online.
