OfficeJet Pro 8600: cannot print - nightmare of Windows 8?

I can't be able to print from Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF, 2013. If I press print, it looks like it will work - I get no error message - then nothing comes out of the printer, and nothing is added to the queue printing.

Connect network cable. The printer works for colleagues and even for me, if I use email to print option! What would you suggest? He made both copies. We can not connect WiFi

I can only assume it's something to do with Windows 8. When I was with Windows 7, it was fine.

Thank you very much for your help and for your time

    Hello

My HP Officejet Pro 8600 cannot print from my MacBook Air. It keeps on showing "the printer is not connected", but the display on the printer connected. I often reset the printer "EVERY TIME" I want to use. I also tried to turn off my laptop and printer several times before printing. If I'm lucky, it will work maybe for one or two prints. If no luck then I have to reset everything again. Sometimes I reset the printer, the printer is not displayed on my selection.

    Hello boojoo1tw,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you are unable to print most of the time with your Officejet 8600. How is the printer connected? USB or wireless? What is your operating system on your Mac computer? Click here to find out.

  • HP officejet pro 8600 - cannot print from my macbook pro

We just bought a new HP officejet pro 8600 but for some reason, we cannot get my macbook pro to print on it. My mac says it is connected to it. It is listed in the printer only and all the settings look fine, but when I send a document to the printer, it will not be printed. He did print the first day we had (a week ago) but it stopped and we cannot figure out what to do. My daughter's PC will be printed, as well as the pc of my husband. It is the first time that I had problems printing to a hp from my mac. Any thoughts?

I had my Officejet Pro 8600 about six months.  Recently, I had the same problem.  It continues to print from my Windows computers but not the Mac.   Labour goes into the impression that it is place on a wedge.  I tried many fixes, including the removal of the printer and reinstall.  Usually removing and reinstalling it will fix for a while, but now, even that does not work.  In my view, that the permanent solution is to buy another printer.

  • Printers HP Officejet Pro 8600: cannot print the PDF for HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium

I can't print pdf files. I can print Word and Excel documents. The printer worked fine on my old computer, it's a new laptop from Dell. I installed the wireless printer and had this problem. I then uninstalled all the hp print files and reinstalled like a printer cable and still it won't print pdf even if it will print documents of type word. Thank you for your help.

    Hey @scienceisfun,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I see that you have some problems with PDFs of your 10 Windows PC printing to your Officejet 8600 Premium e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that, but as the printer prints other programs on the same computer, this means that the problem is related to your PDF software. I suggest you uninstall your PDF Viewer and install again. If you are not able to print PDF files after reinstalling the software, then the next step would be to contact the company that wrote the software PDF to decide the issue.

Please let me know if this resolves your problems or if you have any other questions. If not, have a great week!

  • HP officejet pro 8600 - cannot print envelopes monarch

I can't print envelopes Monarch size.  I tried MS Word and Pages (and Contacts).  The error message suggests that I have the wrong size paper in the paper tray.

PS. I'm working on a Mac

    Hi AnnMckeown,

Thanks for the information.  I would like you to try a generic driver to see if we get a different result.  Please see the procedure to do this below.  Make sure you use the driver printer deskjet 9800, because it supports the Monarch envelopes and can solve the problem.

To assign other printer drivers in OS X 10.8:

    1. Open system preferences.
    2. Click Print and Scan.
    3. Click on the + sign below the list of printers.
    4. Select the printer in the list.
    5. Click on the dropdown next to the use.
    6. Choose Select printer software... from the list.
    7. A window titled printer software.  It is the window where you select the other pilot.
    8. Choose the replacement driver just for you-deskjet 9800
    9. Click Add
    10. Click ok

Once you add the driver, try to print envelopes with her. Be sure to select the 9800 as the driver to use for printing.

    I hope this helps!

  • How can I set up my new Officejet Pro 8600 more printing on paper photo 4 x 6?

How can I set up my new Officejet Pro 8600 more printing on paper photo 4 x 6?  I'm running on Windows 7 64 bit.

It's strange.  Looks like you have a second paper tray and put it to the default tray.  The second paper tray only supports the types of paper that show on your list.  It's strange because unless you have purchased a second tray paper, plus model has one.  Does only the high-end model.  Other than that, only certain types of media can be duplex, so if you have double-sided printing, it can limit the selection.  I'll watch what else could be the cause and get back to you.

    Windows 7

I had Assistant printer installed and working on my computer at least a year, then there was an update and it no longer works.

I uninstalled the device and the software and reinstalled both on-site and directly from the CD without success.

The only error I get is when I start everything first install it and there is a red "x" next to the update of windows.

The installation process ends, the computer will recognize the printer and I am able to print but I have no control any function because none of these options in the wizard for the printer are turned on.  They are all grayed out.   The most important thing I need is the archiving of received faxes.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 software / printer on Windows 8

We just bought a new printer - HP Officejet Pro 8600.  We have 2 computers I want it to connect to eventually.  1 is a cable in the office (Asus) with Windows 8 & the 2nd. is a laptop (HP) with Windows 7 (two new computers within the past year).  I tried to boot with the Windows 8 a.  It seems I have to buy an 'ethernet' cable to start with - it says to plug into the wall - this does mean in our router?  The printer has all the details how to take the packing off the printer tape but the minimum for 2 types of cables.  2 problem is the software is not compatible with Windows 8.  I guess it's doable, but can someone tell me details on how to go about it.  I've seen some of this forum for Windows 8? RT the instructions would be the same?  On this computer, I'm stuck without 'ethernet' cable (comes with a USB cable - what is - this for?) & the fact that Windows 8 do not accept software.  It seems that if I go not for a good start but probably assume that everything is possible at some point?

Our old printer is a cannon that has the "almost complete used ink absorber.  I plan on using that one with the laptop until it is completely 'dead' then would also like to work with our new 8600 printer.  I thought that it would probably be best not to hang it up until I have the old party?  What is the best idea or not?

I'm not too computer 'savay' but my understanding is I would need to have a "cable in" via an ethernet cable and the other would be "wireless".  It gave me the idea that the printer can be anywhere in our House, but assumed it would be partly true since the ethernet cable should be near our router?  Is this a correct assumption?

    Any help appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi SueSSue,

If the printer is connected Ethernet you will not have to worry about getting a weak signal and possible connectivity issues, but with wireless, you are not bound to the office with the laptop. The option should be good in your case. If the printer is already at work, you can leave it connected to the way you have it. Let me know if you need help.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 scans to the computer windows 7

I am using Windows 7 on my desktop at home for the first time (since a few weeks ago). I got this HP Officejet Pro 8600 for at least a year now, and it was easy scan documents using my Windows XP.

This morning, I scanned a document on the Windows 7 system, but tonight the icon ("HP Officejet Pro 8600") does not show the scan option. I am stunned. I need to scan more than a few documents and cannot find out how to access this feature. Help, please!

Hi delphine and welcome to the forums of HP!

I see you have a 8600 Officejet which seems to no longer provide the analysis option. I will certainly do my best so that he could share with you scanning capabilities

It's really weird that you get is no longer the option scan so I suggest that you run the HP print and Scan Doctor and see if it finds problems first. If she says that everything out very well we should be able to get an icon on your desktop HP Scan so that you can just open it directly.

To do this, click the start menu, click programs principally made, click the HP folder, click on the HP Officejet Pro 8600 folder and then right click on the HP Scan, select send to and Desktop. Then, you will see an icon on your desktop that says HP Scan and you don't have to go through the HP printer Assistant longer.

I would like to know how it goes for you!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 more print but not scan

I have an Officejet Pro 8600 and I use Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) and it print and copy but will not scan. I had a hell of a time trying to get this thing to scan - I even spent an hour and a half with HP technical support and they could not fix it and finally gave up and call me Micro$ oft said that it must be a windows problem (Windows is up to date, incidentally).

I tried to open the scanner software and nothing happens when I click the icon - the loading icon flashes for a second, then only the mouse pointer. Nothing happens if I try to boot from all programs. Nothing happens if I try to scan to the computer of the other printer told me the failure of sweeping and that there could be reasons of severalpossible (unrelated, software used, etc.).

I have installed and uninstalled. A couple of times he was having trouble with the installation, but finally got it connected. Once it would not uninstall in Control Panel until I did it directly from the HP folder. I connected it by USB and wireless. I installed the version of bloatware. I cleaned that out and I tried the only version of drivers. The HP support person had me go and removed a bunch of stuff in the registry. I tried to run as an administrator. Nothing works. I even tried to scan using Windows Fax and scan. I disabled Kaspersky and made sure that my firewall is turned off.

I am at my wits end with this and certainly regret my purchase at the moment. Help!

Hello, it happens to the analysis of Windows (WIA) and generates an error:

"The Windows Imaging service does not work... If the problem persists, you will not be able to scan using the applications that use this service, such as Microsoft Paint. Scanning software HP could still work. »

It asked me to restart, and then re-run the diagnostic tests, but I got the same result.

Then, I jumped to HP Scanner Twain and got another error:

"The Twain component is not working properly because the product is used by another process. Save your work and close all applications. Turn the product off, turn it on again, and then click on restart and repeat the test. »

He told me then the problem persists to uninstall the software, then reinstall the Full Feature software (I did, but available).

    * EDIT

Problem solved!  After you had me run the diagnostic tool I googled the WIA problem and found that many other people had the same problem. A person has a response from Micro$ oft saying that it was a Windows 7 issue and how to fix it - this is the text I found:

To start the WIA service, you need start all services of dependence. To start the dependency services, please follow the steps mentioned below:

-> > click on start-> type "services.msc" and press ENTER, once you get up the services window, please do the rest steps.

-> > first check and write down all the dependency services: -

-> > right WIA-> properties-> tab dependence, check the services of name listed there.

It must contain the following services:

    * RPC remote Procedure Call

-> > DCOM Server process Launcher

-> > RPC end point mapper

    * Detection material core

Make sure that all of the above services are started in the services list.

Last time, we started the Detection hardware Kernel, which solves our problem.

(Andy, it's important.  Choose "Detection hardware Kernel ' and start this service which should start your 'Windows Imaging Acquisition '.  If it does not then select WIA and change the departure to "automatic".  This fixed my problems) after all dependency services start, please try to start, WIA service to solve the problem of .

(For those who are doubtful with computers, like me, when you click on the start icon, you can type services.msc in the box of research programs or click on run and type it in there). Once inside the list of services, you can look at the dependencies by right-clicking on the Windows Image acquisition service and selecting Properties. Take note of these dependencies. Then back to the main list and watch to see if these dependencies are started. My Shell Hardware Detection says disabled, so I right click on it; However, starting selection is grayed out and I couldn't select it from the drop-down list box, so Startup type I selected Automatic, apply, close the Services window and then started my Scan software and presto, it worked.

Thanks for setting me on the right track!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600: HP Officejet Pro 8600 not printing pictures

With the kind cooperation of RnRMusicman and other knowledgeable people here, I could solve virtually all the problems I had Windows 10 to my HP Officejet Pro 8600, work flawless long since I bought it and while I was using the Professional Windows 7 operating system.  I was able to solve the problems of scanning and printing.  I should say that I can NOW print letters, notes, etc. I wrote on WordperfectX6, scanning photos, documents, etc. without any problems.  However, today, I tried to print photos of two 2 'My images' files and everything seemed to go OK, I got the display window to ask me how many, what size, photos etc I wanted to print and I clicked on print, then got another window showing the progress, but there was absolutely no response from my HP Officejet Pro 8600.  I tried to unplug and plug in again, restart, using the HPPSdr.exe and telling me everything is beautiful - but of course, this isn't.  When I tried to choose in the menu to go online to more possible solutions, I still said that I am not connected to the internet.  I hope I'm not overstaying my welcome to these forums.  It is a serious problem, I want to overcome since I have to print photos from time to time for projects.  Thanks in advance to you all and know that I am very grateful for past assistance which has solved MOST of the problems.  This one I didn't know until I tried to print photographs, lol.  As I said the OTHER impression, as WordperfectX6 is absolutely no problem only photographs.  Even looking at the "see what's printing" I do not see the ORDERS that I sent to the printer.  It is completely empty.  Thanks again.

First of all, I do not deserve the title of "Guardian", lol.  I had adjustments and is raging after the upgrade to Windows 10 trying to do my job of Hewlett-Packard Officejet Pro 8600 (blah, blah blah).  I tried all kinds of recommended patches and nothing has been done, or he helped briefly and then the problem resurface.

Feeling totally beaten yesterday, 2 November 2015, I deleted every single file from HP, fix, program, diagnostic tool ALL.  Then I unplugged the printer from your telephone line and plug its USB connection to the computer.  It was 19:00, 2 November 2015.   I then dug around and found the original set of the instructions that came with the printer when I bought it on amazon about two years ago.   Left on my desk, resolved to do battle with these unbeatable hi-tech "monsters" overnight.

This morning, November 3, 2014, at 6:30, to feel refreshed and ready for battle, I discovered by accident that my DSL provider, century link, had a firewall (in addition to one already, I have in my software) so I advanced and off to see if that would help.   I just reconnected it on the printer, BUT this time I have not re - download HP software.  AND HERE, my Officejet Pro 8600 works again!  I can print from WordPerfectX6, I can print some photographs-YAY!   The only thing I'm still not able to solve must be able to print the pages of the internet.  For example, I tried to print a page of amazon.com and when I went to 'print' I was delivered to a Fax template.  This happened also when I clicked on "Print preview" - but I can live with THAT.  So, I walk away from the battlefield until I totally lose my sanity and tell me "that's close enough," lol

Another by-product happy to remove the firewall of the century-link, which I didn't even know existed, it's NOW, I was able to receive updates from Dell, which had previously been cancelled/blocked, ostensibly by this firewall 'stealth' of my DSL provider which I didn't even know existed.

Thank you!  To you all, who tried to help and who actually HELPED thanks to your suggestions.   Who would have thought that do not try to download HP ALL and eliminating a firewall that I didn't even not existing would solve 99% of the problems.  Thank you, Hewlett-Packard to also operate these forums!   They are EXTREMELY USEFUL!

  • HP officejet pro 8600 more printing envelopes chemistry

The normal printing process seems to work perfectly, only when printing envelopes #10 they live I have the problem with the crooked not printing any way how the envelope is inserted according to the Setup (Microsoft Word).

To date, the following steps were taken:

    1. the version of the firmware is up to date: CLP1CN1322CR

    2. all the rollers are clean and act freely, no paper jams/particles anywhere - front or rear.

    3. the envelope seems to come out all right (looking directly at the front that it falls on the paper tray.

    4. different types of envelopes #10 were tried.

The twisted print template is not consistent, sometimes it low angles differently and sometimes the implementation of the address of the sender and the recipient are different.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    PROBLEM SOLVED

The result is: READ THE MANUAL

I had been assuming (incorrectly) OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus would print the same as my previous HP OfficeJet Pro L7680 envelopes.  This model allowed me to print envelopes by putting on paper envelopes, I already had in the tray, put the envelopes on the side right side down.  He had always worked before with no problem and the envelopes printed correctly, even if you could use the status bar and adjusted the sides to accept the correct envelope size (never tried).

On the 8600 model, you MUST remove any paper in the tray and load the envelopes in the Center, adjusting the sides to the size of the envelope.  In ADDITION, you must insert the face or envelopes down with the edge of the flap that is pointing to the right, a bit like the graphics on the bottom of the stage show.

IF YOU USE MS WORD TO PRINT ENVELOPES AND LABELS, IT MAY BE CONFUSING BECAUSE IT SHOWS 6 POWER AVAILABLE, IF YOU CHOOSE THE ((QUATRIÈME DE LA DROITE) METHODS, IT SHOWS THE ENVELOPE IN THE MIDDLE AND THE EDGE OF THE FLAP FACING RIGHT, THIS CAUSES THE IMPRESSION OF BEING UPSIDE DOWN ON THE ENVELOPE.)

That's what you should first read the User Guide (manual) for for the 8600 printer printing envelopes:

Print on envelopes (for Windows, p. 39)

    Load Media (p. 24)

    Load the envelopes (p. 25)
