  You can stop receiveing the event by removing an event listener, but the downloding not stop.

  To stop the download, use. close() the loader to remove event listener ProgressEvent class

  One way many podcasts to solve this problem is to use Skype or Google Hangouts to facilitate the global conversation, but each participant makes a local record of their side of the conversation.  This separates the tracks well enough, but it guarantees that all tracks are of much better quality than a typical Skype call.  There may be problems with the drift of the clock, when sync starts to drag, but this can be corrected.
