On NGC 16 GB DIMMs

Hi all

I just see Cisco 16 GB DIMMS in Netfomx... I expected to be twice the price as the 8 GB DIMMs (price per GB) but they are surprisingly less expensive than that... about 50% more expensive.

What is the Cisco advise on the use of this DIMM? If they can be placed anywhere, it's about the end of the advantage of extended... memory I'm wrong?

Thank you very much

Dani,

I don't know where you get the 16GB price.  Based on what I see (and confirmed by our UCS product managers), price 16 GB DIMMS on Netformx is exactly twice the price 8 GB DIMMS.

Currently, the price 16 GB Quad-rows DIMM is twice the price of the 8 GB DIMMS.  But quadri-rows DIMMS will operate at a speed 800MT/s when you fill the 2-DIMM-per-channel model (2DPC) in the basic server 2-socket x 5500 / 5600 x.   This means a 12 x 16GB = 192 GB server will have DIMMS running at 800MT/s, compared to the servers Cisco UCS B200/C250 with 48 x 8 GB = 394 GB of memory running at 1333MT/s.

The double row of 16GB DIMMS is still very expensive.  The last time we checked, some system providers list their price on the web more than $ 3300 per room.  This price may decline gradually, but it will take time to be twice the price of 8 GB DIMMS.  Even for this 2DPC model wil always be 12 x 16GB = 192 GB of capacity, only half the capacity of 394GB UCS B250/C250 is able to reach.  If a server x 5500 / 5600 x supports load 3DPC, then all the double row 16 GB DIMMS will operate at 800MT/s with a capacity of 18 x 16 GB = 288 GB)<>

Therefore, comprehensive Cisco technology memory have still one advantage of the use of low density and low cost DIMMS to achieve greater capacity and higher performance.

    Hello

Everyone knows the same problem as me watching their new iphone 7/7plus?

I noticed the two 7 resolution of the display of the model were more yellowish and weaker than previous models, even if each of them had their brightness set to the maximum value.

Anyone has an idea why is it like that? Thank you!

    Hello

I thought I was the only one with this problem! I noticed exactly the same where my 6s displays blanks that are white just neutral and my iPhone 7 tends to be on the warm side. I don't know why, but this effect when the iPhone screen 7 is dimmer reminds me of AMOLED screens.

My idea would be that the glue between the LCD and the glass needs time to completely dry, but I m not sure.

Also, I noticed that my iPhone 6s is much smoother. In particular, the animation when you click the home button feels liquid smooth on my 6 s, then the iPhone 7 feels like the animation is cut into two pieces.

Last thing I noticed during the last 24 hours is overheating. If she's in charge, making simple tasks, this new phone overheat very easily.

  • Satellite P10 and so-DIMM DDR400 problem

(First, hi to all and sorry for my BAD English: o)

Given that I have install my new memory DDR400 (Corsair Value Select VS512DS400 x 2) in My P10, problems occur: error in windows, Crc in files compressed, etc... I try with my old DDR333: no problem.

Give it a try with a friend of mine who have the same P10:
    exactly the same error

I do some research, and I found a possibility:
I see in the technical data sheet for DDR400 (and all the DDR400 SO-DIMMs are like that) the required voltage is 2.6 volts.
And for the DDR333 needs only 2.5 Volts.

I want to know (or confirm) if DAL00 motherboard which is inserted into the series P10 (I use 1.90v bios) can proceed to 2, 6V?

It was very strange because I use CPU - Z to determine how fast is used for DDR400, bios seems to determine the correct speed for DDR400 (200 Mhz) and pass the FSB ratio to 1:1, Arf! good for this point! : o).

The first time I saw the DDR333 memory in the Toshiba
with a 3.0HT processor (which use bus 800 Mhz Quadpumped)
    I was very surprised! : o).
Eheh, Toshiba engineers maybe had same problems when
they used the DDR400 on it?

Can you help me for this technical problem?

    Best regards, Ray

    Hi Ray

In your case is problem BIOS don't recognize new RAM module. It's very nice that you are interesting about this problem, but this kind of question can be answered simply by an engineer or expert, and it will not solve your problem.
Always is it that you need RAM DDR SODIMM (333 MHZ). The best solution for your unit is to buy one of these three modules:

    256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MB (PA3313U-1M1G).

    Good luck!

  • 8 GB DIMM modules for early 2008 Mac Pro

I see that OWC is now selling the 8 GB DIMMs for early 2008 Mac Pro (8-core, 3.2 GHz). This leads to the potential total RAM up to 64 GB.

Anyone has any experience of the use of these, or potential problems?

    Thank you!

I would call OWC and ask them. I remember not only here posts on this topic.

However. I myself would buy a chance 2009-2012 in the place and level it. These Mac Pro are the most capable and reliable and 8 GB sticks are 1/3 of the cost of those of 2008.

SODIMM have no place on a desktop motherboard. They don't even not in good physical shape. I note that the responsible parties so that they can correct the error.

    Good fishing!

    @ToniODonovan

Since it seems that you have decided to upgrade the memory. I highly recommend that you only install the modules of memory that are guaranteed compatible by the manufacturer. Do not match the specifications you see on the card of motherboard with what you will find available, buy and install and expect them to work.  You can find you very disappointed if you use the method "corresponds to the plug. Rely on what the manufacturers guarantee, where they say what will work in the motherboard of your desktop PC.

  • Satellite 1410-604 + SO-DIMM DDR 512/2100

If I understand correctly, I can use CSD (PC2100) memory.

I can SO-DIMM DDR 512/2100 instead of CSD (PC2100) memory?

    Hello

This unit supports 2 slots of memory and you can upgrade the memory maximum. 512 MB (2x256MB) in addition to these memory SDRAM modules are supported:
    PC2100 128 MB (PA3126U - 1 M 12)
    PC2100 256 MB (PA3127U - 1 M 25)

Generally you cannot use different memory modules. Toshiba recommends using SDRAM PC2100 modules. In this case you shouldn't t use all other modules

  • Working Mobile HP ZBook 17: HP ZBook 17 - how to locate the slot for failing to DIMM

When running memory diagnostics, I get a failure where newspapers are pointing to "channel Num Num 1 DIMM 0"- but nothing on which four slots contains DIMM failure.

Where can I find documentation that translates this DIMM/channel numbering scheme to the numbers 1-4 or location physical location (primary or Expansion) mentioned in the service manual?

I tried to keep this brief and precise question, but I can provide more details if necessary.

    Thank you!

I resorted to an approach of trial and error to swap DIMM and execution of diagnostic tests to find the bad DIMM.  It was tedious (especially where I had to keep remove the optical drive and the keyboard to switch to the primary slots), but I finally managed to determine that I had TWO bad DIMM, replaced those with the new, and I'm back running with 32 GB.

I never got an answer about the Diagnostics DIMM numbering at the locations of the physical location to translate, but I managed to learn more through my tests.  Here's what I've been able to determine:

    PHYSICAL DIAGNOSIS

    Channel #? / DIMM #0 main site #1

    Channel #? / DIMM #0 main site #2

    Channel #1 / #1 location #1 DIMM Expansion

    Channel #0 / DIMM #1 Expansion Slot #2

This should really be recorded somewhere and maybe I wasn't able to find the right document.  I hope this information helps someone else.

This PC has now 8 GB of ram DDR3 inside, 1 single memory unit.

I was wondering if I where 2 2 GB ones, replace if

the ability to dual channel would work? The processor is an AMD A10-7800

For the rest a good enough PC!

  • Speed by Satellite P100-400 SO-dimm?

Hi, I would like to know what is the top speed of the so-dimm this laptop (Satellite P100-400) can handle? I want to add 2 GB of RAM, I currently have 1 GB DDR2 533 mhz and I saw this OCZ SoDimm 2 GB DD2 PC2-6400 800 Mhz memory, I would like t know if they are compatible with the one I have?

Thank you in advance (sorry for my bad English...)

    Hi dude

The maximum supported memory speed depends on the speed of the FSB.
I m not 100% sure that FSB supports this device, but I guess that it s 667 MHz.

In this case, all the compatible memory modules may support max with 667 Mhz speed.
If you use the modules of 800 Mhz, max speed will remain at 667 Mhz.

However, you must use modules that support these specs: DDR2 (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM

  • Satellite L30-113 does not recognize the two modules DIMM RAM

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite L30 113.
It has 512 MB of RAM and therefore struggled to run Windows Vista, so I bought another 1 GB of RAM.
    It's DDR2 553 MHZ (PC4200.

The problem I have is that the laptop does not recognize both DIMMs, i.e. the old 512 MB and the new 1 GB when they are in the whole PC. I tried the two DIMM individually in both slots and there is no problem, but when I install both the system sees just 1 GB. I tried the DIMMs around two ways but without success.

    Did I miss something?
They should be the same size as in the bad old days?
    What is going on?

    Thank you

    Adam

    > I tried the two DIMM individually in both slots and there is no problem, but when I install both the system sees just 1 GB
Seems that the two RAM modules are not completely compatible...
I've read several times on these issues and to be honest it s are not uncommon

I advise you to buy two identical RAM modules ad then to try again

I'm afraid there is no other solution for your problem of m.

  • Satellite L10: Module memory SO-DIMM PC3200 will work?

I want to upgrade a computer Toshiba Satellite L10 laptop 256 MB 1 x to 2 x 512 MB RAM. This laptop requires RAM PC2100. I seem to have a number of options:
    * 512 MB DDR SO-DIMM PC2100 (266) CASE 2.5 - 3-3-6
    * 512 MB DDR SO-DIMM PC2700 (333) CASE 2.5 - 3-3-7
    * 512 MB DDR SO-DIMM PC3200 (400) CASE 3-3-3-8

Is there a reason why I shouldn't use PC3200 RAM, it's less expensive than PC2100?

512 MB DDR2 SO - DIMM PC5300 (667) CASE 5-5-5-15 sticks are even cheaper, but told me that a system designed for DDR will not work with DDR2 RAM - is this true?

By the way, if I had to use 1 GB sticks, they work only with 512 MB each, obviously?

    {Thank you very much for all the tips: 8}

Thanks for the hardware upgrade is to use compatible and not the cheapest parts. What is reason enough for you?

I recommend you to use compatible parts only. If you need numbers for compatible parts please let us know.

HP uses ram from different manufacturers, depends on which it can provide at any time, it isn't the brand but the specs that matter.

I would call Kingston or Crucial on the phone for help on the selection, as they ensure the compatibility.
