On the boot system is "system restore is scanning" message and then it opens the Recovery Manager

When I try and start my other Hp laptop it says to the system restore is looking for errors, then it passes to the Recovery Manager. I want to use the system recovery. File backup program it tells me that there is currently not enough free space on the system partition for temporary storage during compression. You must free space on the system partition to continue the task. I'm trying to save up to my external hard drive which has 930 GB of free space is a way to simply copy the hard drive the computers together? All my children pictures are on this laptop does - what should I do to save my files? I have also a 2nd laptop the exact same model that works is there a way I can copy files to it. They are 449WM HP G71 and use 7 64 windows operating systems. Is there a way I can connect two laptops, and then access that it wont startup files. It is the important gathering I have video of my daughter being born so that at least 1 photo of her every wek since she was born any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hello

I suggest buying a USB SATA docking station and backup all needed files on the external hard drive through the work laptop...

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/cnm-hard-drive-docking-station-for-2-5-3-5-sata-internal-hard-drives-01992148-pdt.html?srcid=867&xtor=AL-50&istCompanyId=9a35962d-802d-4e67-9721-0a3328ca1f02&istItemId=mrpwxxx&istBid=t

All you have to do is remove the hard drive work, adapt it to the docking station and connect the station to the laptop. It will work as a drive external hard usb.

When you have finished the backup, create an image backup disc system on the work laptop and use it to restore the other laptop...

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
    They will tell you how to do this.
    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
  • USB keys - problem with the Recovery Manager
    I bought a 16GB Kingston DataTraveler 112 USB key so I could copy the recovery as a backup image. He acknowledged the USB key and showed that the recovery image has been slightly more than 11 GB. But when he started to format the USB key, it returns to the previous screen and asking more of the car. At the bottom of the screen, he said to contact the HP Support, but it gives me an error message. Now when I try the Recovery Manager it does not recognize the USB at all.
    Before that, I had bought another 16 GB USB - don't remember what brand. I have 5 other USB drives, but they are all small, except a 32 GB Kingston DT101 G2 which does not work on this computer, even if it worked on my old computer (Pavilion w/Vista Home Premium) without problem. All these USBs, including the new Kingston are for USB 2.0.
    Operating system is Windows 8.1 64-bit on the desktop HP Pavilion 500 - A60. I tried the problem that USB keys in all 4 ports (2.0 and 3.0). Also in that I plug into a port to give me 3 USB ports, also used on my previous computer.
    Is it possible that this computer does not recognize Kingston or some other brands of USB thumb drives?
    The trick to this is to use a USB 2.0 port and use a non-windows 8 certified thumbdrive. If the USB flash drive shows as a 'removable device' there should be no problem in the use of the media to create a recovery media
    I had a lot of success with a 16 GB Transcend USB 3.0 flash drive.
    I own a couple of DataTraveler flash drives and had the same lack of success, creation of recovery media that you did. I have had zero success with 3.0 of Sandisk Extreme usb flash drives
    Hello
    Before trying the suggestion below, make sure that you have backed up all your personal files, etc.
    If you created your set of recovery DVDs, you can use them to reinstall the operating system that this process will also recreate the recovery Partition and so I hope to see the f11 feature.
  • By using the Recovery Manager to repartition the HARD drive
    I started a post a few days back on my pavilion DM1-3014AU netbook that runs on AMD APU-E350, 2 GB of ram and comes pre loaded with windows 7 Home Basic. I had a number of requests because I want to repartition the hard drive, do a fresh install of windows 7 my disc and I also want to keep some of the hp software.
    After going through a few messages in this forum, I learned that we can use the Recovery Manager to do a minimal install, IE windows 7 and only the hp software. That's what I have to do unless I also want to repartition the hard drive.
    I currently have 4 partitions, C drive, hp tools (hidden) and backup (hidden). I have already created recovery disks. Now, my questions are:-
    1. can I use recovery disks or Recovery Manager to delete all existing partitions and recreate my own partitions. This means that I would remove the recovery, tools and backup partitions.
    2. After doing the above I'll be able to do a minimal install (os + hp software) via the Recovery Manager or the recovery disks.
    3. my intutions are that I can accomplish the above two using the recovery disks and not the recovery partition. If the above two steps are possible using recovery discs, it would ultimately have no partition on my hard drive recovery. I will then be able to use the recovery disks in the future to make the same minimum install (os + hp software)
    4. I wouldn't really keep the recovery, tools and backup partitions if they can be of any complacency in the future but the reson why I want to delete them, is that windows 7 Home Basic allows no more than 4 partitions and I want to be able to create at least 4 partitions for my use.
    Any help would be really appreciated...
    Yes Vikrant... it is unnecessary to install UEFI to update BIOS.
    Yes, if you install the update to the BIOS using the link I provided in my previous thead element, you can as a revert to a version of BIOS as soon as possible if you feel that the system is unstable.
    Even if you reparition the whole HARD disk and do a manimized install, you can install the BIOS update in the future.
    Updating the BIOS is independent if you did full recovery or minimizes recovery.
    BIOS update will not affect the use of recovery disks and procedures. You can safely use them in the future without any problem.
    You will use the ability to run F9 diagnostics incase of any software system crash, and you are unable to start Windows.
    Hello
    1. you receive an error message when running the system restore?
    2. which antivirus app do you use?
    3. what happened when you try to uninstall the program?
    4, are service packs installed on your computer?
    To uninstall the application:
    Method 1:
    Run the hotfix, restart the computer and try to uninstall
    Problems with programs that cannot be installed or uninstalled.
    Method 2:
    I suggest to keep the computer in a clean boot state and check the status of the issue.
    How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
    Note: After you have used the boot is a way to solve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.
    I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.
    The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
    Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
    Important: While perform analysis on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when parsing tent repair this sector if all available on which data may be lost
  • Vista SP1 does not update problems and System Restore returns a message "system restore was not entirely successful. File system and the setting of your computer has not changed"with the error code (0x80071AA7)
    0rignal title: Vista SP1 didn't update problem
    So, recently, I was on my computer of gf and noticed she had some updates, it could use his computer which included the SP1 update.  So I went through the process trying to update his computer and he has been a disaster and have had many problems and seems to have tried everything.  It has a Dell inspiron 1525 and has no CD and no key for its program of Vista.  I burned a Vista recovery disk and tried troubleshooting by using that, but have not had much luck.  When I use the Startup Repair tool there is no nothing.  So I tried to use the restore of the system with the Description of "install: Windows Vista Service Pack 1.  He had a restore point saved just before I tried to update to SP1.  Whenever I chose this method, it's but the whole process then in the end it says:
    "System restore was not entirely successful.  File system and the setting of your computer have not changed. "
    then he begins to list the details with the error code (0x80071AA7) and then gives me the option to close or 'Run System Restore"once again that is an endless loop, because I just end up with the same error each time.  If anyone has had this problem and bring myself through it.  I don't want to reinstall windows because it seems simply ridiculous and plus that she a lot of pictures on his computer and I want to get rid of those.
    If you need more information please let me know and evil provides everything I can
    Hello
    Follow the steps and check if the problem persists.
    Step 1:
    I suspect that your security program may be responsible for this. I would suggest you temporarily disable all security software and try the system restore.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software
    Note : Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
    Step 2:
    As for installing updates is concerned, I you should install them after you put your computer in aclean boot State. There could be a third-party software in conflict with updates. Clean boot helps eliminate these conflicts.
    Note: Restart your machine as usual by following step 7.
