On Windows XP, 3G modem connection is disconnected frequently

I bought an Airtel 3 G modem for internet access, the modem is installed properly on Windows XP, but the connection is disconnected frequently to every 5 minutes. Help, please.

Hi JayTiwari,

·         What is the brand and model of the computer?

·         You are able to use any other USB device on your computer?

You try to run the cycle of power from the laptop or desktop computer. Subsequently, check if you are able to use the USB modem on your computer.

a. disconnect all external devices from the laptop or desktop.

b. remove the battery from the laptop (only if it's a laptop).

c. press the power button on the computer laptop or desktop for 10-15 seconds.

d. Insert the battery in the laptop and restart the computer (only if it's a laptop).

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

    Hi mate

I recommend you in Win 7 the power management of the energy saving settings.
There you can change (disable) WLan Card to save energy.
    It helped in my case.

    Please also check this thread:

As I have said; power management setting is the key, you must also update the WLan driver!

  • Continually disconnected in Windows Vista wireless modem

Windows Vista has a feature that disconnects a wireless modem after an extended period of non-use?  Possibly for security.  I worked on a friends laptop, Dell Studio 1700, several times in the past months.  It has a Wireless Modem from Actiontec and whenever I can go and get it reconnected, but after a day or two when he tries to go back to the modem is no longer shows the light Internet and can not find the Internet.  I exceed again and reconnect but it continues to happen and it is easier for me to go and do it right, but it is true inconvenient.  If there is a function, how can I disable it?

cgperk... A little more information could help to answer the question.  It may be three things.  Your DHCP settings on the router (ie.modem) has a constraint of rental time.  Is the IP address in the TCP/IP Protocol have an address must be configured by DHCP from the router?  Finally, try to charge your providers DNS server address in the TCP/IP settings to resolve your internet address.

  • HTTPS connection systematically disconnected every 2 minutes via VPN in Windows 8

    * Original title: VPN via https issues - win 8

My wife works from home to connect to a vpn over an https connection and then connect to another piece of software based on the web through an https connection.

It worked well until Christmas 2013 when she bought a new laptop with windows 8, upgrading to a connection high speed fiber (with the same Internet service provider) and had a new router.

Since then it can connect to the vpn but once connected to everything that she's trying to connect an https connection systematically disconnected every 2 minutes.

The vpn is connected, and also other programs outside the vpn as Skype and lync stay connected.

His employer has built a new version of the web-based software as there was a problem with this and windows 8, but this has not solved the problem although it resolved all the problems of connection to his colleagues.

Currently, she is able to connect via a desktop remotely to his employer (instead of the vpn) and then connect to the additional software via https.

2 weeks ago she took his laptop in a House of colleagues and connected no problems whatsoever and maintained the connection.

She informed her employer of which, after 3 months of development new software and maintenance to a remote office installation just for her, said now it must be a problem with the Internet service provider.

PSI (EE) performed many tests and say there is no problem with the line and or they block certain ports etc.

Today, she attempted to connect using a laptop with windows 7 (according to her an old) and had no problem that seems to rule out a problem of ISP or router problems.

There seems to be a problem with windows 8 (regardless of Web browser - the same problem is present with ie, chrome or firefox), but only among us — even if I want to confirm that in trying a few more locations with different providers of Internet services, and that even in a different place)

Anyway, after all this language of wood can anyone offer suggestions of what the problem may be or any what more ways to collect the information required to provide a solution.

    Thank you

  • Problems connecting to a wireless connection that disconnects every time

    original title: wireless

My wireless connection disconnects whenever I have change the sites while surfing and even within Web sites.  How can I stop
It is to do this?  The only way to get reconnected is to 'fix '.

    Hello

    1. do you get an error message? If Yes, what is the exact full error message?

    2. what operating system are you using on your computer?

    3. what web browser you use to surf the Web sites?

If in case you are using Windows 7 as OS then try the steps below to solve the problem:

This problem can occur if authentication enable IEEE 802. 1 X for this network checkbox is enabled. If this box is checked, but there is no server to authenticate the connection is interrupted. If you turn on the wireless network connection, it disconnects again after a short period.

    Method 1: Disable IEEE 802 authentication. 1 X

To disable authentication IEEE 802. 1 X, follow these steps:

    (a) click Start, type ncpa.cpl, and then press ENTER.

    (b) right click on your wireless network connectionand then click Properties.

    (c) click the wireless networks tab.

    (d) under preferred networks, click your wireless network, and then click Properties.

    (e) click on the authentication tab, click to clear the authentication to enable IEEE 802. 1 X for this network check box and then click OK twice.

    Method 2

See the following help link and check if that helps.

  • Remove my modem connection?

I have a few computers on a small network ethernet, via a residential gateway (i.e., router), which allow computers to share files and printers, and share an Internet connection cable. Most of the computers on my network is not yet have PSTN modems and (fortunately), I had the need to use remote access services in more than six years. However, in my IE Options CONNECTION tab it says that MSN remote connection has been implemented.

Sometimes, I received a box of popup with some sort of message about the remote connection and work offline. Of course, I'm not looking for a modem connection. I have changed since my connections to NEVER A CONNECTION settings, but I really want to just remove the connection distance for not having any conflicts in my system or Internet access in the future.

My question: would I be causing no problem for me on the road if I just remove this connection remotely, and if deleting it would not be a problem, so I have correctly and safely how so? Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't think that delete a unused dial-up connection can cause problems.  To be completely safe:

    1. make a system restore point.
    2. open the network connections, right click on the connection file and delete it.
    3. in case of problems, restore the system to the way it was before deletion.

  • How to share files and printers between windows xp desktop that is connected to a wireless router with a laptop running windows 7. printer is connected to the desktop computer

Hi all.  I normally wouldn't have a problem with that, but I must be missing something.  I want to create a home network or small business between my desktop running windows xp pro sp3 and my laptop running windows 7 Home premium.  I want to share files and printers.  My desktop with windows xp computer is connected to a wireless router.  The printer is connected to my desktop as well.  My laptop is wireless with the wireless router.  I tried everything I can think of to get these two devices to the network.  If anyone can help.  Don't forget, my printer is connected to my desktop with windows xp and is connected to my wireless router which is connected to my cable modem.  Internet works fine.  the laptop with windows 7's wireless and internet works fine.  just impossible to get the two see each other or share what anyone.  Thank you.

With respect to the sharing of printer (s), microsoft has a utility called 'Print Migrator'

  • S10e - loud beep on AC connect and disconnect!

Hi everyone - first post here!

My Lenovo S10e supplied with Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop, and it works now openSUSE 11.1. I love it! But I'm always in the first weeks congested and still working on the kinks. And here's one:

Every time I have connect or disconnect the AC, I get a very loud beep, which is a real nuisance in the library, and even around the House! I'd love to be able to disable the beep, but as far as I can tell it is a level BIOS setting BIOS give no option to adjust.

All the forums I've found offer a solution only for Windows. If there is an update of the BIOS, which makes it possible to disable the beep, I think I wouldn't be able to apply it in any case, since it would be distributed in the form of a windows .exe. But I bought the device with an operating system Linux is preinstalled. Surely, there must be an upgrade of the BIOS that come to us?

    Anyone have any suggestions here?

    Thank you very much!

  • Cannot be re-installed Windows XP SP1 is connected to the internet.

After spending several hours and several attempts with different people involved repairing a corrupted file hive, I recently punted and reloaded WinXP (after all my user data off the drive from another machine of traction).  I use a D-Link router that is always connected to a cable modem.  It works great because I always have wireless access for my laptop.  The problem is that I can't get the PC with Windows XP SP1, connected to the network through the router.  I even tried to bypass the router and connect direct from cable modem connection.  When I try the Connection Wizard, it doesn't give me any errors, but it is not also set up a new connection.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

As I pointed out, sometimes turning off the analysis e-mail messages is not sufficient. That still leaves his hooks in there. Analysis of the e-mail may be harmless for a long time and then it throws an update of Kaspersky. Please remove Kaspersky, restart and then reinstall in custom mode and remove analysis when it is presented e-mail messages.

Other than that, the only thing I can think is your modem or router. That's assuming that all of your settings are correct.

  • Windows 7 x 64 upgrd dv6500z disconnected network drives allow usb drive mapping to the same drive letter

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the readers of network disconnected allowing for new drive usb to their drive letter mappings. I have my laptop dv6500z home with windows 7 Home premium connected to my router wirelessly with a couple of shares of x 64. Now I turned off, trip and start. All right, the drive letters show as disconnected as they should. Now I plug in a USB key and it corresponds to the drive letter of one of the disconnected actions and not a new, unassigned drive letter. In Explorer, there will still be disconnected action description. Click on it and it accesses all my files on the USB key. In admin tools/disk management, the correct label for the USB key is displayed.

So is it a problem of HP or just a problem of Microsoft with Windows 7?

Woody, I was able to replicate that XP is not a bug but a feature. On my laptop, it originally had vista on the c drive and a recovery on the d drive partion. There are about 1 1/2 years I have upgraded Vista to XP. Then recently updated to Windows 7. kept the 3 OS's so I got triple starting capability. Then at home, I added 3 network shares, while I was using a lot of drive letters. When actions are undone, Windows maps a USB key which has not been connected before system one of the disconnected but readers still show in Explorer, the name of the drive on the part of disconnected. However, if the USB is connected to the system before, Windows appears to map a drive letter that he remembered from before.

In my case, Windows 7 has been installed recently, so there is no remebered for my USB drive letter. I was away from home, so I had a lot of disconnected shares. In addition, now that I got a 3rd OS added to the system, I used a lot of letters from the GET go by car. It's much more likely that I would meet this feature after installing Windows 7.
