Online printing of Webhelp help topics

I tried to print an individual topic of my online help system. However, the table of contents printed instead. I tried to print the other help topics, but it's the same thing. My impressions were of the table of contents and not the subject. There, does anyone know how to fix this? Please let me know. Thank you.

Thank you. It worked.

  • Is it possible to associate a help topic specific OR to one or more controls to run?

I would like to associate some of the help topics NI Vision already installed with the Toolbox with the controls on the front panel so that a user can pull up to them if they ask how the control should be used.  I would like to do this without having to resort to cut and paste text from the section of help (or convoluted the subject navigation instructions) in the window of the edge-band/description associated with a control.  Bookmarks to the topics on the Web site NOR does not work because the machine where the code will run will not have access to the network.

    Hey, WNM,.

Have you tried to use the ' online help ' user interface and dialog box > help palette?

Once the Toolkit is installed on the user's computer, the help files (.chm files) should be included in the support directory. Once the Toolkit is installed, you can use the above function up these files programmatically using the application.

In addition, if the user does not have access using these files you could include local copies in your application directory, then open them then Similarly a from there. I posted a link to these help files below.

I used the online print wizard several times in the past, but now it is not showing all the images on the second screen.  Recently, I've cleaned up some of the files I thought were benign, but I must have made the Print Wizard.  I wanted it back, either by download on the net or with a recovery disk, but I don't know how to do this.

WHEN I TYPE IN A HELP TOPIC AND CLICK SEARCH, I ALWAYS GET A MESSAGE TELLING ME RESEARCH TOPIC NOT FOUND AND BELOW WHAT HE ALWAYS SAYS THIS PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT HELP TOPIC I PAT ON THE SEARCH BOX, I STILL HAVE THE SAME MESSAGES

SOMEONE CAN ME ADVISE ON THIS POINT.

I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP.

    JOHN ROBERTSON VS

    Hi JohnRobertsonVS,

    Method 1

Refer to the Microsoft article to download and install Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe), check to see if it helps.

I can not open Help files that require the Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe)

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/917607

    Method 2

Try the method below and see if it helps.

    a. Open a command prompt window and run the following command:

    regsvr32 msxml3.dll

    b. Press ENTER.

Note: To open a command prompt window, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right click Guest and then click run as administrator.

    Method 3

If the previous step fails then I suggest that scan you SFC on the computer that would be a corrupt system file search.

The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows Vista installation CD.

    pls help...

    Hi Adi181089,

    Thanks for posting your question.

I suggest you try to launch a Scan SFC:
    1. click on the start menu, choose all programs, then Accessories, and then right-click on the item to the command prompt and select run as administrator.
    2. click on continue to allow to open a prompt with administrative privileges.
    3. run this command in the cmd prompt: sfc/scannow
    4. the cmd prompt should list text stating "start system analysis. This process will take time. »
    5. wait for the scan to complete (this may take several minutes, so be patient).  This command will scan all protected system files and attempt to replace the incorrect versions by appropriate Microsoft versions
    6. once the analysis is complete, the SFC tool will indicate whether or not it found no problems and whether or not he was able to correct
    7. If any errors are reported that SFC could not resolve, there are steps in this knowledge base article which explain how to locate and attempt to correct the errors.
    8. after fixing errors that are found, check if this solves the problem.

Let us know if that helps.

    Kind regards
    Clement Kumar.

  • Print the WebHelp topic does not work in Firefox

Linking WebHelp RH7. Try to print a topic.

This works fine in IE7; in Firefox 3, the print dialog box starts OK, but when you print, it sends only the header of the topic to the printer, by completely omitting the content in the topic - everything is empty.

The code behind the button print the topic:
WebHelp Skin Editor > tab toolbar > print topic > change icon. Custom toolbar item > Action tab > Javascript OnClick =

    Window.parent.frames [1] .frames [1]. Focus(); Window.Print ();

Fix found! Here's a modified script to put in the skin.

    Window.parent.frames [1] .frames [1]. Focus(); Window.parent.frames [1] .frames [1]. Print();

I've tested this in Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox 3, and it works OK. He also works in Apple Safari 3.1.2 even if printing is reduced at the level of about 80% of good size (text and screenshots).
