"Open All In Tabs" behavior is unpredictable

When I use the option "Open all in tabs" in a folder of bookmarks, sometimes it will open all bookmarks in the 'new' tabs and sometimes it will reuse open tabs, superimposing the currently opened pages. This option should always be used the tabs 'new '.

In my view, that it is a problem experienced. Bookmarks will be opened, by default, on the current tab. If you open "all in tabs", they will appear on the new tabs only if they need more tabs to open... I don't know exactly how this happens, but it's a known issue, I think.

I went into my favorites and choose "open all in tabs" for a particular folder. It opens all links in new tabs, all right - but it closed each tab, I had already opened and did not spare the session.

Really, it is massively frustrating and stressful when this happens, because I have to spend hours to obstinate by weeks of history, trying to reconstruct what I was already doing. This is not the standard behavior in firefox - default "open all in tabs" will open the bookmarks selected next to already open tabs. you have all of the installed extensions that would be likely to change this behavior?

I use Firefox for a long time, but recently it began to open each tab already open when I restart a session. I want only the tabs that I chose for my home page to open. I tried to go to options and selecting "Show a blank page" on startup, but even this is ignored and all previous tabs open on every new beginning. I rebooted the computer and restarted Firefox, but the problem remains.

Sorry mjuby, I have not seen that you had already tried the fix.

I suggest to turn off all of your modules and retest. Who help me?

    Disable or remove modules

If this does not help, then please try a Reset of Firefox. This puts Firefox to its default settings. Your bookmarks, history etc will be saved, but you will need to reinstall your add-ons.

  • When I open firefox v 37.0.2 that open all the tabs from the previous session, I do want my homepage tab to open

This problem started when I refreshed recently Fire Fox due to other problems I had. Options > general > fire fox on startup is set to 'show my home page ". In the support forum, I found another user with the same problem and the solution for him had to do with the user.js file in the profile folder? Subject: config? In any case, the answer was to delete that file, or better yet delete all the text in it and save this file empty and set it to read only to prevent it from reappearing. That's all beyond me and my skinny computer knowledge and I don't even know if I have a user.js file. Help, please

My problem is now solved. I don't know if there's someone else out there who would do what I did, but just in case, I'll tell you at the end of the day, what was causing the multiple tabs to open every time I opened Firefox, at least as far as I understand. While I contemplated the helpful response more returned hoping to understand what was wrong with my Firefox, my son has shown out of town and 5 minutes, he found out what I did wrong. In Options > general > Home Page, I got an address which included not only the home page I wanted 'Google News', but apparently the addresses of all the other tabs this guarded appearance until when I started towards the top of Firefox. Maybe it's not exactly the right explanation, but change the homepage to "News.google.fr" solved the problem. Thanks to everyone out there who gave their best to help me, I'm sure it's hard to solve problems like that when he would never come to you that someone would do the things they do. Thanks again.

  • How can I change "open new window" tab behavior?

I used to be a long time Firefox user and then switch to Chrome for a while. Come back now, and I notice some strangeness with tabs and "new windows". Can't understand how to work around.

My "Home Page" is set up to open three tabs. A MSN, the second is my email, and the third is Google Calendar. It works fine, except...

    (1) if I choose 'New window' (Ctrl-N), it re-opens those same three tabs. When I open a new window, I don't want to reopen these three tabs. They are already open in the main window. How can I stop Firefox to do this? I can't find a way to get there.

    (2) the other door on the 'Home' button If I push the home button it loads all three of these tabs. In Chrome, there is another parameter for the 'home' vs the tabs start button. Is it possible to replicate this? Sometimes I hit the home button only to load MSN. I don't want all three of these tabs when I hit the home button. Any way around this?

    Danke.

    It is not possible.
A new window opens to the home page (s), so you should set the home page to about: blank or create a bookmark to the defined location: virgins and hold the Shift key and left click to open this page in a new window.

You can add these three pages to the command-line of the desktop shortcut to open the page when you start Firefox Firefox.

Is it possible to remove or disable the all open at the point of tabs in the bookmarks menu submenus? I chose during it by mistake, and a lot of unwanted tabs appear as enraged politicians.

    Thank you.

You can set the pref to 1 browser.tabs.maxOpenBeforeWarn on the topic: config page in order to get a warning in such cases (works with one click setting on a folder).

You can add this code in the file userChrome.css below default @namespace.

Customization files (interface) userChrome.css and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #PlacesToolbarItems .openintabs-menuitem,
    #placesContext>menuitem[id="placesContext_openContainer:tabs"],

  • Do I have to open all the tabs, every time I open my computer?

Before I had my open windows were saved so not open them all every time I use the computer, but they always left now when I start every day, so I have to go to history and to start looking for everything I was working the previous day.
Since I normally have more than one window open, it is really a pain.
Why Save and exit was taken on Firefox 4? It is really necessary!

Now, Firefox always stores the old session which you can access from the history menu by selecting "restore previous Session." There is also an option to restore the previous session on default value: Home home.

If you always open the last set of tabs, another approach is the following:

    1. Click on the orange button Firefox, then select options to open the options window
    2. Go to the general Panel
    3. Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "show my windows and tabs from last time '.
  • Collapses Firefox to open all the tabs at startup.

After trying all the suggestions on the config and make many changes of setting, nothing worked. I was about to get rid of Firefox and come back to find out (ugg) when I checked to see if all my Add-ons are updated.
JAVA was apparently not aware. So I've updated and is no longer in the face of all the old tabs when I run Firefox.
It begins with a CLEAN PAGE.

You still have a problem with Firefox or you solve your problems?

These problems can be caused by putting the tabs as many home pages or possibly have a framework where the session restore kicks in.

You can check the setting of the homepage:

    • Tools > Options > general > startup: Homepage

Firefox supports several home pages separated by ' |' symbol (pipe).

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.

Also, make sure that Firefox is closing properly.

  • Firefox opens all tabs that were open when last closed

I am running Linux Mint 16 with 28.0 FF. FF sometimes opens all previous tabs I had open, rather than the tabs that I set to open as my home page.

I tried every solution I can find here or elsewhere on the web, including the topic: configuration settings, resetting FF, FF uninstall and re - install, check user.js four (be - something different in Linux?) file, etc.

    I did this:

    (3) Double-click browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes and change the 1 to a 0 (a zero) and OK that.

in this thread with the same problem:

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/976041

and FF all re - starting with all previous open tabs.

Install Firefox V29.0 solved the FF problem opening all my previous tabs.

But now all the addresses in my URL are overshadowed by different, especially grey and black colors. Sigh. FF had a lot of work lately, and now that it looks like Chrome, I could as if well ahead using Chrome.

  • I lost all my tabs when I rebooted to install the update, is there a way I can get back them?

I restarted my browser to install your latest update. I had 45 tablets, some of them opened the month and never closed. When your browser window open all my tabs have disappeared and it let me use "restore previous Session." Is it possible to recover these tabs? Its going to be almost impossible for me to restore even half of them and it's very frustrating. I use my chrome right now because I don't want to touch my firefox just in case.

Nevermind, I found the button to restore all windows were closed and he lifted my main window and a few others as well.
