Opening network Photoshop files becomes impossible to complete your request because of a disk error
If my client using a MAC is trying to open a Photoshop file from the local network, he will receive "could not complete your request because of a disk error." But if he opens an Illustrator file he will receive "the file xxxxxx.eps is in an unknown format and cannot be opened. Thank you for your attention.
This happened to you if it copies or moves the file on his computer? Working on a network is not really supported. In addition, it takes more time to open and save files.

I have an error message when you open any PDF file. It reads "Could not complete your request because of a disk error", but all the files are good. There is no this problem on the other computer with the same Photoshop installed under my own account. And also I couldn't save any file in PDF format. I get the same error message.
My system info:
Adobe Photoshop Version: 2015.1.2 20160113.r.355 2016/01 / 13:23:59:59 CL 1059143 x 64

Built-in memory: 8188 MB
Free memory: 3986 MB
Memory available to Photoshop: 7056 MB
Memory used by Photoshop: 80%
And so on...
What can be done to avoid this error?
Hey, Gerard!
Not, this work. So I tried to remove Photoshop and install it again. And it works. Now it can open all files :-)
So if anyone has the same problem, it is advisable to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop.

With version 2015.1, I ran into problems of handling certain types of files Photoshop used to be able to open.
When I try, I get an error message: could not complete your request because of a disk error.
(Mac, OSX El Capitan, Photoshop CC 2015.1, lots of space, a lot of RAM available)
Is no longer works and causes the error message:
Open a .ai or .pdf either from the file inside the og of Photoshop in the command-click context menu in the finder.
By dragging a file .ai or .pdf from a window in the finder in the Photoshop workspace empty.
It works (but that's really not what I need for a flow of work):
By dragging a file .ai or .pdf from a finder window in an existing Photoshop document window.
How can this problem be solved?
Best regards
Kristian
Hi k-Stockholm,.
After you install the latest update for Photoshop, if you have not customized the application for your use, then you can try reset the Photoshop preferences to default.
Steps to follow:
To re-create the Photoshop preferences files, start the application while pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?"
Let us know if that helps.

Photoshop CS6 says-"Could not complete your request because of a program error" on adding keyframes
Greetings,
I use Adobe Photoshop CS6 to edit a video. This is a file created in the past that contains small animations such as opacity and some transformations. The last time that I finished working with the file, everything was perfect and has worked flawlessly.
I recently decided to open the file again to add an animated layer/chart. I added a text layer with a long string of numbers and a layer mask. The mask is not related to the text.
When I animate the layer using 'turn' (the moving text, from one side to the other), a keyframe is created. The problem is that I can't scrub the timeline for a time before the last keyframe (including the first keyframe). When I try to do so, or when I simply click on the button to the beginning of the video, I get this error: "Could not complete your request because of a program error."
I tried to remove a lot of the old layers to get rid of their animations, in which case it was a problem of resource memory or something and it doesn't work. I closed and restarted the PS, still without success.
Please help me solve this problem. Thank you and have a nice day.
I FIXED IT :)
I placed the text layer in its own folder. I then applied the layer mask in the folder, not the layer.
The text layer anime now, the error does not occur.
This shows that, at least on my system, Photoshop would allow me to animate the text layer if the layer itself had a mask that was not related to her.
If someone wants to venture guess as to why it happened, don't hesitate. I hope that the situation described above is not necessary a work-around, he must have worked as originally planned.
Take care and have a nice day.

If I make a new file and he hangs out in the work area it is important the file without any problems.
It is a pain because normally I import images from the file as separate files to colorgrade and cut them before dragging them to the desired model.
Tested on multiple Macs (same problem) (nothing to do with my drive)
Is this a bug?

Hi Jess,
Please see the solution mentioned in the thread 'disk error' when you open the pdf file
Let us know if that helps.

In recent days, Photoshop CS4 began to send me of dialog boxes "Could not complete your request because of a program error" whenever I try to open a non - PSD file. I can open PSD files very well, but if I try to open a JPG, PNG or GIF file, it gives me this dialog box and it does not open the file.
My system:
- Mac OS 10.11.2
- Photoshop CS4 11.0.2
I tried the things:
- Reinstallation of Photoshop
- Remove my preferences folder (~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS4 settings /)
- Deleting the file plist in Photoshop (~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Photoshop.plist)
None of these things have worked so far. What else can I try to fix this? Thanks in advance.
Please open the folder of the Application.
Then open the Photoshop CS4 folder and right-click (Ctrl + click) on Photoshop CS4.app and select to display the contents of the package.
Open the contents of the folder, and then MAC OS and then run Photoshop CS4.
Once the application is open, please try opening the PSD files.

Yesterday, I turned on the computer and wanted to work with files NEF (RAW) image. After that I clicked on the file, it should open Camera raw from Photoshop CS6 as ussually, but I had this strange WARNING "Could not complete your request because of a program error".
It's strange, since the last time I worked with Photoshop, everything was fine. I have not installed anything new, nothing change... all of a sudden this came up to the top.
I have enough space on my computer, all the latest drivers and the latest camera raw and regularly updated everything.
The files are not corrupted since I also tried with the old files which, in the past, worked normal and also with a few new files. That's the problem with all the files. JPG works normal in Photoshop and I can even export RAW from LR to CS6 and open Photoshop. But not in camera raw, in the General window.
No idea what should be wrong?
I solved the problem, finally!
Maybe this will help someone.
In one of the latest entries of Camera Raw, I saved a preset of a few parameters (parameters of export in XML format). These parameters have been updated with the xml format in the subdirectory camera raw. And what makes something for CR faild to load after that.
I deleted the file and now everything is OK.

Hello
I had not the permissions problem on my 10.9.1 system after execution of various updates so I must first of all understand the installation program to enter in the first State.
However, this can be related and worth giving a try:
http://helpx.Adobe.com/creative-cloud/release-note/CC-release-notes.html
An update to the application of creative cloud was released a few minutes ago, "Successfully set access privileges on the folder"~/Library/Preferences/Adobe"on Mac OS X so that the current user has read/write access."
Quit, and then restart the creative Cloud desktop application to see the update.

'Could not complete your request because of a program error' on Open
Hello
I spent over 2 hours on the phone with Tech Support trying to resolve the following error: could not complete your request because of a program error. This error occurs when I open Photoshop CC, try to open a file and try to open the performance parameters. I am under Photoshop CC, Mac OS X 10.8.4.
Here is the basic system information:
Model name: MacBook Pro
Model identifier: MacBookPro8, 2
Processor name: Intel Core i7
Processor speed: 2.2 GHz
Number of processors: 1
Total number of Cores: 4
(By heart) L2 Cache: 256 KB
L3 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 8 GB
Boot ROM version: MBP81.0047.B27
Version of the SCM (System): 1.69f4
Any ideas?
Thank you!!!
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply. Almost by chance, I have corrected the problem. I noticed that my library foler was locked. How it got that way, I can never know. Anyway, comparing it to other computers have revealed that the library folder must not be locked. I've unlocked and voila! This works.
Thank you

Photoshop CS4 "could not complete your request because of a program error"
Although I used it, today, I tried to open Photoshop CS4 and received the message: "Could not complete your request because of a program error." I tried to reboot (imac end 2012, Mountain Lion 10.8.2), reload the program but still get the same message. Help?
OK, so everything that goes wrong - it is not writing in the newspaper.
There's only a few OS errors that occur at the beginning during the launch process.
First thing to try: trash the entire repertoire of Photoshop preferences. You can back up the directory so your presets and others can be restored later.
Second thing to try: trash the file com.adobe.Photoshop.plist. (this is the cache of Apple of their stuff related to Photoshop)
