Optimal hardware recommendations

Time for me to upgrade my laptop. I see the minimum hardware requirements, but if the main use of my new laptop will run Photoshop CS6 (and perhaps CC), what are the recommendations for a really good laptop (CPU processor, graphics processor, HD, RAM, etc.), not only the minimum?  I know that maybe it's not a particular brand laptop & model, but some tips on what is worth paying for, and what is beyond what Photoshop use anyway.  There may be a white paper of compiling recommendations out there?

  • What are the requirements of optimal hardware for Adobe Photoshop CS6 specification?

I greet the staff and users of this forum,

As the title makes clear, the issue is "What are the requirements to the optimal hardware for Adobe Photoshop CS6 specification".
Unfortunately, I am not satisfied with the specifications indicated on the site, because I think that they are much less important than the specifications needed to run the program to its full potential. This belief comes from my experience with the Adobe Photoshop CS2 product that I currently run on my computer. Indeed, Ps CS2 can not fully execute without causing shifts in time on my computer (i.e. when using smudge diameter of 500 pix / help to liquefy Gallery), even though my characteristics are already higher than those specified for the CS6 (mine are: Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 1.86 GHz, 3 GB RAM). I can assure you that I receive these shifts in the time almost in SafeMode (only key running system processes) and that my computer is clean of any virus/process that could reduce its performance.

I lived two forums and four telephone operators to always get the same answer: the specs on the website.
If any user here could give me a more accurate record, I would be really grateful.

    Thank you

This paper looks at the different workflow and gives recommendations. It should give you an idea of what is needed.

  • NI 9505 H - full-bridge brushed DC Servo Drive Module - hardware recommendations

I don't know anything about the motor, motor control with PID, so I would like to start learning something (hands-on), so I bought NI 9505 from eBay.  Now, I want to buy are the hardware to start but I'm not really sure to know what brand/model should I buy. So please help me by providing some recomedation on

    (1) engine (I do not need a lot of power, something 12VDC)

    (2) encoder

    (3) cable

As it is just learning, I have something good market/reeasonable. I'm fine appericate.

I acctually have the cRIO 9024 and LabVIEW. All I need is the motor, encoder and cable (number 3).  I would like to ask if anyone can recommend some of the brand/model should I buy - I'm new and I don't really want to buy something that is not on my need - what is just to learn new concept.

  • Hardware recommendations for make closed?

    Hello

What would you recommend for a small firm rendering for mixed AE projects (for most HD content, with only a few seconds and the layers and the biggest short-projects with multiple layers of HD and up to 15 min or more)

is it better to have more hearts (servers AMD opteron with 48 cores for example) or of performance more by heart but less cores (Intel Xeon servers)?

And how much memory would be optimal?

What can you recommend for the network connection to share stored, how fast it will be?

I like the analogy of evil better than mine. A cow of price vs 20 ordinary cows. The imagery is very clear. In a production environment, where volume counts, more is better then a single top notch one. A single cow can produce so much mik per day, no matter how extraordinary it is.  But 20 can theoretically produce 20 times more (in practice, perhaps from 17 to 18). Quantity, not quality. I'm not saying that you should get shitty material. All good material, not high-performance ones.

As you know, it's not because you buy a computer that costs twice as much, you will get twice the processing power. First of all, forget the dual CPU computers for a render farm, it's not worth. Get a quad core regular. You compare the price vs performance (make a graph), download the CPU which gives you the best bang for the book (just before the curve of Monte price).

Personally, I think 32 GB is overkill in a rendering farm environment. 16GB is more then enough. Remember that you do not have a RAM Preview closes (if such a thing exists), but rather, to split the process of rendering on different computers. 16 GB is good, 2GB is not. But 8 GB can be a good compromise. Remember, you are trying to lower the cost of a computer, you can buy many computers. But the RAM is cheap, so the best bang for the buck, 16GB may be possible. Here again, it depends on other global factors to reduce the price of the computer.

The speed of the network. Yes, you could get 10GB network adapters and a 10GB switch. But who can drive the price considerably. If you can get a good price, great. If this isn't the case, stick to 1 GB. Get a motherboard with 2 x 1 GB NIC onboard, so you can aggregate the network connections for 2GB. You can optionally add a 1 GB PCIe card four on the road. The computer that has the assets of the project must have a fellow quad (or several) card NIC inside. You want to be able to push the media as quickly as possible to the render farm.

Other things to consider... or rather, no. Graphics card is a problem not on a farm. AE is all about CPU. Some mobos come with embedded graphics. Usually, it is cheaper and consumes less energy. You also want to drive down energy costs when you multiply by X number of computers. Just get a KVM solution that will be able to handle X computers. You don't need a RAID on render farm computers. Going to a normal hard disk. I would go even with a green disc that uses less energy.

And according to the number of computers you have, to reduce the footprint, you can get half-height rackmount boxes and put them in a rack.  Also, consider to put in his own room, because it's going to be very noisy!

  • UCS hardware recommendations

    Hello

I was looking for a recommendation which switch parts I should look to buy a system UCS to run several virtual machines and a catalyst that has the WLC ability. This is a test environment play with ISE and first for additional machines could also added to it.

However, I'll have to keep a relatively low cost for the business expense.

    The things I need are:

UCS blade - no idea which one to look at, but the machines that I need on this subject at least are ISE, premium and a windows AD with a CA server infrastructure.

3650 catalyst to test the functionality of ISE with features wireless integrated switch.

    See you soon,.

  • the iSCSI hardware recommendations

I just had one Digital EN104L + B (below) die on us after less than two weeks of service, and he was SLOOW before he fell.  Our problem was along the lines of this type problem:

    http://www.sansdigital.com/index.php?option=com_kunena & Itemid = 190 & Func = View & ID = 1568 & catid = 10 #1568

Before that, we had openfiler which worked well, think back to that.

However, we liked that digital WITHOUT was all in a single unit and that he didn't need that a host like openfiler server does.

are there units iSCSI in the meantime 1K - 2K like this don't suck?

It hasn't is usually very little tested differnce between iSCSI and NFS. The simplicity of NFS WINS for me.

  • Looking for non-specific hardware recommendations

Let's start by saying that I am a passionate amateur photographer who uses Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 4 on a Windows laptop with the following specs:

    Windows 7 Home Premiium

    Intel i7 Q820 1.73 GHz

    8G ram

750 GB 7200 RPM hard drive

    ATI Mobility Radeon HD4670

    Bamboo graphic tablet

Dell SP2009W 20 "monitor as main display - screen laptop as secondary display

While this works fine for now, more I learn and use Photoshop, the slower and more boring becomes my system.  It is not uncommon for the registration of a tiff file that is unique to the PS to take 5 minutes.  I am considering the construction of a new computer.  I am convinced that I am able to build a computer but a large number of material choice is where I get confused.  In addition, I don't know what the most important components to run the faster PS.

I read through a bunch of messages from people asking "is this system, all good for Photoshop" or "what video card is better 4xx or 5xx" etc.  But this isn't really what I need to know.  Are there general advice on what is most important for the PS?  RAM?  GHz? Discs work?

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

If you set up a system yourself around a motherboard you can create a monster for 3 grand.

A really powerful combination can be a motherboard based on 37xx i7 or i7-39xx, (which has high speed), 16 GB of RAM with space to grow, 4 vector x OCZ 256 GB SSD in RAID 0 for the system, applications and data to work, more a HDD spinning for low-access to data (for example, your library), ATI Radeon HD 7850.

Another possibility (which is the route I usually take) is to find positions of high-end just-end of the lease (as Dell details) on eBay.  Most people don't realize what a previous generation system, with all parts of higher-range can outperform models of this generation with something else that the highest parts of the range, and the price can be quite a bit less.

    For example: I bought these people before: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Precision-T5500-Dual-2x-Six-Core-6C-Xeon-2-80GHz-X5660-Quadro - 4000-8 - 310 - / 251205144017? pt = Desktop_PCs & hash = item3a7cfe4dd1

You might ask to downgrade the video card Quadro 4000 for a basic model, get your own for example, ATI 7850 and spend the savings on the SSD.

  • Recommendations/suggestions for the material?

    Hi all

I'm a little confused with what LabVIEW Embedded will work with. I read http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7066 , but that was not very useful because it tells me there are 260 aircraft but it lists only the 3 level 1 section (I guess that there are more than three). A research in the community gave no results. In the level 2 section, they are pointing to the keil device database, but it doesn't really help me either.

I'm looking for a hardware platform like this http://www.gumstix.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=252 or this http://www.compulab.co.il/x270em/html/x270-em-datasheet.htm that will work with Embedded LV. I really don't want to design and build the hardware from scratch - I want to find something that will work for me for prototyping on shelf and it will also work for the small volumes of product.

The problem is, how do I find something like that? Does anyone have the hardware recommendations? The cards Gumstix has an ARM A8 processor so I think he might be targeted by Embedded LV but I don't know. There is a post on this forum regarding the cards Gumstix but it refers to the microprocessor LV SDK and the replies to this post, it seems a very complicated if the process is impossible to implement the programming of LV on it. However, this post is old, and I understand that the SDK is no more.

    Any notice received with gratitude.

    Dr. Phil

    Hi Phil,

As the Manu says, the best of the material of the plate for use with LabVIEW Embedded for ARM module are MCB2300, MCB2400, LM3S8962 Evaluation Committee.

If I had to do your project, I probably used this material:

Stellaris® Single Board Computer display Intelligent Module RDK

LM3SXXXX family is easier to port of LabVIEW that family CAP because it uses pilot Stellaris.

In addition, this material comes with examples that work on Keil µVision.

However, you must create a new target and adds all the new features of LabVIEW. It can be difficult at the beginning.

  • got a xerox 4800 scanner installs as error message States hardware not installed... any suggestions please.

If he used to install any suggestions for a good cheap scanner who is compatible windows 7... Thanks steve

    Hello

    1. What is the exact error message you are getting?

    Please follow the steps below.

It seems that the product is perhaps not compatible with Windows 7. see the link below.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/details.aspx?type=hardware&p=Xerox%20OneTouch%204800%20Scanner&v=Xerox&UID=4800&l=en-us&pf=0&PI=0&s=Xerox%204800%20scanner&OS=32-bit

    Method 1:

Try to install the driver in Windows Vista compatibility mode and check if it works very well.

    Use the links below.

I would also ask that you contact the device manufacturer to verify compatibility with Windows 7.

You can use your search engine preferred to choose a scanner which is Windows 7 compatible for your computer.

  • Implementation of the Suggestion for hardware OLIVIER

    Hi all

We will implement analytic OBIA for Oracle Financials R12.1.3 and Procure and spend analytical.

Source database will be E-Business Suite R12.1.3 where Oracle Financials and acquisition Modules are already being implemented.

We'll go with the last product of press i.e

    OBIEE 11.1.1.6.8 (so far)
    OLIVIER 7.9.6.4
    Informatica 9.1 HF2
    DAC 11g.

Number of users for EBS will be about 500 and number of users for OLIVIER will be around 100.

I need suggestions on the material. What will be the hardware recommended with above products.

There will be more good if you suggest BONE recommended for specific products as well.

    Here is my own suggestion.

There will be a total 4 servers.

1 OBIEE with 16 GB of Ram and 2 x 3 GHz processor, 400 GB hard drive
2 Informatica/DAC server with 12 GB of Ram and 2 x 3 GHz processor, 400 GB hard drive
    3 Informatica/DAC servewith 8 GB Ram and 2 x 3 GHz CPU, 200 GB hard drive
4 Dataware House with 8 GB Ram and 2 x 3 GHz processor, 5 TB hard drive

My suggestion would be more or less on the limits. as I do all of this as a guess.

Yet is there any method to calculate the sizing of the equipment?

    Thank you
    Naeem Akhtar

    Hello

As Abhishek Anand says there is no need to have a server for Informatica / DAC client - Client tools can be installed on the laptop.
I think that configuration OBIEE OBIEE is very good (16 GB, 6 CPU) but your database does not respect the requirement (Minimum recommended: 8 cores minimum CPU - RAM: 8 GB - your configuration: 6 processor cores, RAM: 8 GB).
You can add more CPU and RAM on your configuration (ex: 8 CPU - 16 GB of RAM).

For a study of sizing on your environment OBIA, you must contact an Oracle sales.

    Best regards

  • Satellite A110-195 - some Fn + keys do not work as before

Recently, I disabled autostart apps and from that moment, the Fn + keys shown in the topic do not work as it should. First the message window does not appear for all keys function, including F6 and F7 for example, but also they work properly - the brightness of the screen changes.

The real problem is that I can not launch the WiFi connection with the Fn + F8 combination lock screen with Fn + F1 or cut his power with the Fn + Esc combination.

    What should I do?

    Hello guys

Before you start looking for solutions, I'll try to explain how the whole work.

As you know Toshiba has designed a lot of different tools and utilities to make it work with laptop easy and allows the optimal hardware configuration. All these tracks tools harmonic and for some of them is important to run along with other tools. On many models laptops that must be preinstalled utility called very important common modules. It's kind of utilitarian basis and without her other tools may not work properly.

Use FN + x key combination executes different options and it will work if the tools and utilities are installed properly and also active.

Dear Robert, you probably killed some of these processes and they do not start with WXP initially upwards. Please turn it on again.

Krish I put t know you did and turn it off, but I recommend you to roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool. I hope that on this path, you will have the laptop as before.

    Good bye

  • Motherboard or processor upgrade Satellite Pro 6000

    Hello

Is it possible to update or change the processor or mother satellite pro 6000 map?
To have a processor or motherboard faster on this subject.

    Thank you to

Greg (french guy with bad English)

    Hi Greg

Good decision. RAM and HARD drive can be upgraded without any problems. Many people think that hardware on laptops can be improved, such as on the desktop, but the design is completely different.

There are also a lot of other factors that make the upgrade is not possible or very risky. Heat as an example. This is a common problem with laptops. Manufacturers keep all this in mind and the optimal hardware platform design that offers the best compromise between performance and protection of the equipment.

  • sensoray 626 DAQ drivers

    Hello

I recently inherited a 626 Sensoray (PCI) data acquisition. After looking around it appears not LabVIEW drivers are available for this device. I just thought I would ask the Board of Directors on a case where doesn't matter what knows all the drivers available.

  • How to read the txt file that has words in between?

    Hi all

    I'm using Labview 8.2.

I would like to read a text file.  I have given (after whenever he was on average more than 100 waveforms) several times recorded on the file.  The idea is to further improve the SNR in post processing by averaging once again the data (which was on average about 100 wave forms).

I can get LabView to save the data in the file several times, then it keeps joins.

The problem is to read data from labview, so I can on average now again.  The problem is the labview separates data sets with the following:

    "Channel 1".
    9925 samples
    Date 28/10/2008
    Time 17:16:11.638363
    X_Dimension time
    X 0 - 3.0125000000000013E - 3
    Delta_X 2.500000E - 6
    "End_of_Header."

Then when I read it, he sees only the first set of data.

Can someone tell me please how to read all the datasets under labview?

I am attaching the file I want to read 'acquiredwaveform.txt' and the VI base (really basic btw) to play the file.

    Thank you

This seems to be a standard LVM-file.  You can read segments of different data using the VI Express LVM loop (make sure that the file retains its extension .lvm).  I modified your example to show this.

Note that my example is quite inefficient. Table of primitive construction causes a massive memory copy whenever it is used, and you would be probably better on average that you read in.  I made this way to make it more obvious how read segments of a file LVM.  In the process, I noticed that you have a good amount of phase jitter (zoom in on the graph of all the three waveforms).  With an average simple will make you smear on your waveforms.  You can either fix the problem in hardware (recommended) or phase shift your data so it lines up before on average.  If you need help with it, let us know.

  • SMU system controlled by PC

    Hi all

I have to do a test system optimal hardware configuration OR for an application where the system should simulate Serial interfaces, interfaces to MIL STD 1553 and analog, Digital O/Ps & I / PS. Modules OR for the best match for this requirement were NI PXIe4322, 4300, 6363, PXI-6624, 8430/4,8431/8, Pickering two rtd PXI cards and a card of 1553 PXI SMU-1075 controller SMU 8840-frame. BUT this current price of configurations will on budget than we expected. for this reason I think to change this part and part PCI system in 6363,6634 tax SMU system, serial interface cards and card MIL 1553 with a PCI/PCIe platform and keep the rest of the map with the SMU platform chassis and eliminating controller SMU 8840. So can I use MXIe controllers to implement this system of type test so that I can put all the pci cards in a high-end modules SMU and PC and industrial PXI chassis SMU (1065/1075/1078 one)? If so please guide me what controller MXIe to choose and what would be the compatibility problems that may occur with this type of system in the future.

    Thank you

My experience with USB has been nothing else to headaches.  So I wouldn't go the route of USB.  Normal PXI slots can also accept the cPCI, so you could look for those as well.  If you just need a very simple map of 1553, I'd go with 1553 Excalibur cPCI card.  I used their cards and they work fine.  Drivers LabVIEW need a cleaning, but they can be used.  This card is a simple send and receive, so if you need to do some testing of weird signal integrety (I don't remember the number of test at the top of my head), this card will not work for you.  But this card was sever thousand dollars less expensive than the GOAL cards, I also used.
