  1. Reload your own OS and as "skeleton" as possible (for example, whatever it is optional, let power off)
  2. If the problem immediately presented, then repeat step 1, but with an OS different package... maybe there's a bug in the specific operating system you run.
  3. If the problem does not immediately, then run for maybe a week-long enough to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
  4. If the behavior does not after a week, add just one thing (just one... no matter how tempting it is to add more!)
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the behavior is, how well do you know the culprit
  6. If the behavior does not, then you know that reloading the OS or switch to another operating system package was the cure.

  If none of this he healed, then you will have a physical hardware problem for which assessment in the hand by a qualified material is of course necessary.   Hi, new BB Bold and I have a password and can lock and unlock the phone.  However the phone automatically goes into lock down to 5 minutes.  Even if I set the Options-> the safety time of 1 hour option it hangs still in about 5 minutes.

  What should I do about it?  The ideals?  The store said that I had to take a safety, go back to my computer, clean the phone and restore.  If this does not work I am to get a new phone.  Just bought a few weeks ago.

  I was wondering if anyone can help, I have searched and searched, but found a few different solutions.

  My boyfriend and I both have the blackberry bold 9700, but today, it has encountered a problem.

  He had his phone in his pocket, while we were in the middle of texting he locked his phone using the locking password and then when he went to read the message I sent him it would not unblock him his phone.

  He has never even changed the password or all parameters - don't really know how. I put his phone for him etc.

  He's on his attempt to 9/10 the password, tried to use the ALT key and what other advisde forums, but this has not helped the situation.

  Is there something else?

  It's pathetic if he will lose his contacts, as he never changed the password. (and no backup at all).

  All contacts are saved in the sim card if they stay? Help, please!

  While that unfortunate, it seems that you have already read and tried all possible combinations to get the password entered correctly. Only the configured password will work... There is no 'master' password or 'backdoor' to unlock BB. With only an attempt on the left, there is virtually no hope of success. One thing that might have tried was to attach to a PC... If you know how to enter the password correctly on the PC keyboard, which would have reset the counter... but, once again, with one shot left...

  Since you say that there is no backup, then all personal information, including contacts, will be conscientiously deleted. According to me, which will also include those on the SIM card.

  If your device is blocked on request a PUK code, you will need to contact your point of sale and exercise of warranty options. Since it's the only thing that can be done when the device is in this State I'll mark this reply as the solution so that others are aware of what needs to be done.

  to be fair, there also a very old version of the firmware, not sure how up-to-date is your operator. with a more recent firmware, you are likely to find better battery life anyway more since I've updated fom.141 (already more recent thanyours) the device is much faster too.

  I live in a bad reception area and even though I'm a light user I get 4 sometimes 5 days standby. Its the best Ive had, by "BOLD" lasted 2-3 days in the same conditions. A Nokia N80 maxing out at 2 days as a P990i Sony did...

  The keyboard lock icon was on the home screen until I installed the updates that have been sent to me today on my BB.  Now that the icon has disappeared.  Check the Section help and could only know how to lock or unlock the screen manually.  Check the instruction booklet provided with it. again without help.  Searched through the BB Curve Demo Online - still nothing on the addition of the back icon.  It was so easy just push this button and not to worry about the keys in my pocket or your purse... How do I get it back?  If I'm not back I won't install updated any longer because I found that I got ro reset things like I wanted to... moving icons of folders to the homescreen etc... Please tell me there is a way to get this back... just bought this BB in June and a first I possessed and it is difficult to do without...   Looks like you have updated to the point where the locking function changed. In older versions, you had an icon on the screen. In the latest versions, you use the power on top of the BB button do a keyboard lock. To get the icon back, you must activate a device password... then you will have an icon for Active password lock. How it works now, and the only way to change this is go back to a previous version, when the change was made.

  The options you are presented with when you start the e-mail Setup Wizard are controlled because of the type of account you have with your carrier. Given what you describe, it seems if you maybe on a generic data plan (or maybe no data don't plan at all)-it's usually not enough to grant you access to the Blackberry Internet Service that is hosted in your operator. To enable the configuration of the personal e-mail, you should contact your operator and ask what is often (do not universally thought) called the Blackberry data Plan. Whatever we call it, we need a plan of your provider that gives you access to Blackberry services increased that they host - and you have to pay for access to enhanced services. Once you have these accounts, you will have a personal messaging as a configuration option (note, however, this company will not "replaced"... rather personal will be added to the screen).

  I was very unhappy to know the same thing, but I found it finally available!

  Go to settings > language & entry > BlackBerry keyboard settings > input languages > unable 'to use the language of the system' and down select all languages you like including Arabic!
