Or-Scope on Linux

As the information provided by ni.com looking a little outdated, I would like to know the current state of the nor-Scope drivers on linux.

Specifically, I need to know if:

(1) I use the GHz sampling rate digitizers (nor 5154 / 5153 / 5152) with no-scope on linux.

(2) I can develop a C driver for these cards.

(3) do all on OpenSuse 11.0 >

Thanks a lot for the useful information ^_^

Hey kitten,.

The good news is that we are working on a version of NOR-SCOPE with support of Linux for the PXI-5152. However, it is the only device we will add in favor at this time. I don't have a definitive answer regarding when he will be available, although we try to release him as soon as possible. I'll make sure to post here when it is available. If you need additional assistance, please let us know by filling out a form of suggestion of product here.

In addition, as mentioned Osamu, we don't officially supported the new SUSE distributions, so this new version will always be compatible with versions of the same distribution. However, there is a chance that if one of the other supported scanners can currently work in OpenSUSE 11.0, and then the PXI-5152 may work, but it will take further work of the user test.

Kind regards

I can't update my Firefox 12.0. I keep seeing messages that say my system is outdated and vulnerable to attacks. I don't know much about the right way to download and open things. Could you please give me detailed instructions on how to upgrade my Firefox 12.0 to a newer version.

These computers usually use Xandros, a linux version is more actively developed. Unfortunately, I don't think that there is a good way to update Firefox on these machines. I suggest that you install a new version of linux (Ubuntu is very popular and easy to use). It's a bit beyond the scope of this proceeding, however, I suggest looking on a few linux forums. They can help you find a version of linux that is more modern, faster and more secure and help you with the installation and set up. You will be able to use the most recent Firefox at this point here, your OS will be updated and faster.

  • No display after installing linux on Satellite A100

    Hi all

The weekend, I decided to install linux on a partition on my toshiba satellite a100. I did a new install of windows from the recovery cd and everything worked fine. I then installed linux on an extended partition and my computer does not display anything on startup - (the LCD has a backlight) and I get all the beeps and reads it from CD etc. The strange thing is that I can plug it into an external monitor and it works fine. When I start with an external display I can then go to the LCD screen and I get a screen but it is very slow and has a lot of flaws.

I've updated the bios, installed the latest graphics drivers (ati), but still no improvement. Since the linux install I deleted the partition scope and installed windows from the restore CD (still no improvement).

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try next?

Thank you in advanced for your help.

    Ask what you can do?
Delete and format the whole HARD drive and reinstall the OS from the recovery CD.
If you want to use Linux, I advise to use a Knoppix. You can get it on the Live CD and it s not necessary to install it on the HARD drive.

  • Dual boot between the preinstalled Vista and Linux

I think installing dual-boot between Linux systems, for this I need to repartition the hard drive and reinstall vista and vista pre-installed that I na? t have the disc so that I only have recovery.

Assuming that the operating system is on the machine in a hidden partition is it possible to make as if I change the custom of available to partition I lose the data recovery. Also, if it's possible here is a recommended distribution to use.

As far as I know the recovery system resides in a hidden partition.
    On my machine, it is/dev/sda1

After this partition (the remaining rest) there is a large partition with Vista on it.
    On my machine, it is/dev/sda2

You can resize (i.e. minimize) / dev/sda2 partition of your distribution tool.
    Then, create a scope/dev/sda3 partition

In/dev/sda3, you can create partitions for your Linux system

On my machine, there is no need to reinstall Vista; Dual boot works fine.
After the Vista partition with partition tool of opensuse 10.2 resizing Vista has conducted an audit of file system

  • Duration of Linux 8.0 CVI crashing in PlotStripChart

I'm trying a quick port of old code CVI 5.5 the CVI Linux 8.0 Runtime. Windows with CVI8.0.1 code from Windows 2000 in an Oracle Virtualbox 3.2 on Ubuntu 8.04 it works so I know that there is no CVI 5.5-8.0 issues >. But after the construction with cvicc the Linux code breaks down by operating on Ubuntu 8.04. Use the KDbg, gdb interface I've isolated to the PlotStripChart() function call. It is this stripchart.prj that is confusing and left me speechless, if I build the example on Ubuntu 8.04 it traces a stripchart very well. I also used the control stripchart on other projects of CVI Linux Runtime and it has always worked. The only difference I could find was this code is traced VAL_INTEGER where the example and my other code has drawn VAL_DOUBLE, but change my stamp of the plot and the PlotStripChart() to use the doubles still does not work. If I comment the unique line of PlotStripChart() in the code, it works very well and seems to work correctly. Its a fairly complicated application that communicates via TCP/IP to a real-time network controller and provides the user interface and functions for our experience of data backup. On some tests without the PlotStripChart() call the saved data and all the results of the commands appear correct, so this seems to be the only way out. Any suggestions, I'm out of ideas and not more clues KDbg/gdb. I'm trying the Beta of CVI2010 Linux Runtime, but given that CVI2010 can't stand Windows 2000 I'm slowed down by having to implement a VM XP (boy of course there are a large number of fixes since my last drive XP MSDN ) and the fact that alien fails to create the 32-bit file on the 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 I aim currently. I'll have to convert the executable files of rpm on my system to Ubuntu 8.04 32 bit. Not a showstopper, but a waste of time, so I had to put aside for the moment. I have the Runtime of Linux 8.0 CVI apparently work on 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 so I expect the same procedure should get me go with the 2010 beta once I get foreigners to do the 32-bit deb files in the RPM files.

I have no explanation, but there be bugs in IUR files when using cvicc.

I took an old project of Windows that the above was derived, make minor changes to compile under Linux and low and behold its worked stripchart control!  Then I cut this file UIR stripchart control, removed the control stripchart of the UIR file above and pasted the copied in control.  Then I dragged to the right size and define the scope and the number of traces of what I needed.  Rebuild the project and presto! No crash the stripchart of drawing.

I always the original file IUR in my archives of Windows files, so I will revisit the issue once I get the CVI 2010 beta installed runtime, which will unfortunately be a while as other projects that push down the battery, but at least this port seems usable now.

    Appreciate your help with this.

    Thank you

You did not first louyo 'NAT or Bridged?' question but its context was not perhaps not clear even if, after seeing...

    [root@test-host ~] # ifconfig

    eth0 Link encap HWaddr 00: 0C: 29:55:EF:96

    INET addr:192.168.241.0 Bcast:192.168.241.255 mask: 255.255.255.0

RUNNING BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 metric: 1

It is not really important because despite everything, it is patently obvious what is the main problem!

The IP address of the guest operating system is not set properly!

louyo asked 'NAT or Bridged?', meaning is card virtual machine network configured as a 'NAT or Bridged?' if it has been filled, the guest operating system would have an IP address on the 192.168.0.0 subnet IP and as NAT would have an IP address on the 192.168.62.0 IP subnet.

Configure the guest operating system to use DHCP or manually assign a correct IP address while setting the virtual machine Network Adapter is connected by a bridge or a NAT.  Since the host uses a Wi - Fi connection, I suggest using NAT and if manually assign an IP address must be between 192.168.62.3 and 192.168.62.127, as that is beyond the scope of the DHCP Server VMnet8 IP address Pool.  If you choose to use Bridged can use DHCP in the guest operating system or using an IP address that is outside the scope of the routers IP DHCP Server Address Pool and for that, you need to check the Configuration of the router.

You didn't say which VMware product or version you are using however I strongly suggest you read the documentation and specifically Chapter 5 "Configuring network connections" in Using VMware Workstation (PDF file).

  • Linux Guest with IP address sets

    Hi all

I've set up a Linux VM on W7 64 professional. I already had the host and the computer virtual configured with dynamic IP addresses, but I'm now testing an IP fixed on the virtual machine.

I've set up the VM by following this linkand everything seems to work fine. As expected, I can ping the ip address and host name.

However, since the change, I can't communicate with the virtual machine and the virtual machine with the host from the host.

I use NAT and have not changed anything else. VMNet8 uses 192.168.130.1 and the output of ifconfig to the customer is as follows:

    eth0 Link encap HWaddr 00: 0C: 29:5F:2 C: E2

    collisions: 0 txqueuelen:0

RX bytes: 4388612 (4.1 MiB) TX bytes: 4388612 (4.1 MiB)

Any ideas why I can't ping so be it? I tried the two host name and ip, or work address.

If the NIC of the virtual machine is configured as NAT and VMnet8 has a 192.168.130.1 IP and then static IP address, the needs of comments to be in the same subnet with the last octet between 3 and 127, unless you change the default settings for VMnet8.

  • Linux host - bridge problems

I have a host of Linux (CentOS 5.3) running VMWare Workstation 6.5.1 and I wanted to install a bridge connection so that my comments to Server Windows 2003 is able to directly access the internet and receive queries (such as remote desktop). I tried to configure a network card of vmnetx with one of the public IPs that I want to use, but it does not work. NAT works fine, but I can't access the server from outside of the host, is not all that attractive to me. Here is my output of ifconfig:

You can use the configure script to configure if you load a new kernel.  Other that that, you shouldn't change it again.  The tools will install the network improved module, and from there, no other management staff is really necessary, until you upgrade your kernel.  When you do this, you will need to restart the installation script to load the modules in the new kernel.
