ORA - 16698:LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n when you configure dataguard

Hello

Im trying to configure a Dataguard under oracle 12 c

DB01 is primary, DB02 is standby

On DB01

ALTER system set log_archive_dest_1 =' LOCATION = / DATA01/DB/DB01/flash/archiv/VALID_FOR =(ALL_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = DB01';

ALTER system set log_archive_dest_2 is 'SERVICE = DB02 ASYNC VALID_FOR =(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = DB02';.

On DB02

Set log_archive_dest_1 =' LOCATION = / DATA01/DB/DB02/flash/archiv/VALID_FOR =(ALL_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = DB02'

Set log_archive_dest_2 = 'SERVICE = DGN01 ASYNC VALID_FOR =(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = DGN01'

I have issue_

Create the "DG" configuration as database primary is "DB01" connect identifier is DB01;

ORA - 16698:LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n parameter defined for the object to add

I discovered that the destination must not be into siege mode.

Notes on the Oracle:

To clear the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n parameter, use the ALTER SYSTEM SET LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n =""

However, when configuring physical Standby I read:

This destination transmits redo data to the remote physical expectations

Can someone give me a hand

Christian

Log_archive_dest_n manual management (and other DG Associates init parameters) and using Data Guard Broker to manage automatically these settings is not the right way (it may cause inconsistency between the spfile and broker configuration files).
You must clear the log_archive_dest_n parameters defined with the attribute of SERVICE and without NOREGISTER attribute, and then try to create the broker configuration (it will automatically set the log_archive_dest_n when you add a database to the configuration).

When you use data guard broker always make your changes through DGMGRL for consistency purposes.

Kind regards

  • "Limited connection" when you configure the network between two computers XP.

    Original title: Configuration of the network connection

    Trying to establish a network connection between two home PCs., both running Windows XP Pro. Have been through the network on both PC Setup Wizard but, they still say limited, in fact no connection. I use an Ethernet cable between the two Crusader. If it is true what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanx Terry

    Old but good, networking tips from MVP Malke, MS:

    The best and simplest is to buy a wireless router. This way you get Internet connectivity both machines and the added benefit of security more between you and the Internet. Then you configure your network wireless safely, and then you configure file/printer sharing. Here is information on the implementation of a router and also in networking. It seems long, but don't be intimidated. Setting up a router and the LAN of sharing between two computers takes about 15 minutes.

    The router configuration

    Setting up a router is simple enough. Normally, you run the CD that came with the router and follow the instructions. If you're running Vista, maybe the CD that came with the router does not work; I do not know this. But you can set up the router without the CD. Note that if you have Internet cable for the connection you have just set up the router to DHCP (or there may even be a choice of cable to choose). If you have DSL Internet, you select TRP usually and enter the username and password you selected when you initially set the DSL connection. So:

    1. turn off the power to your cable modem.

    2. attach a cable (usually supplied with the router) course Ethernet cat5e Internet/WAN port of the router to the Ethernet port on the cable modem.

    3. connect the ethernet cable cat5e from the network card in your computer to one of the ports on the router. If you do not have an ethernet cable (because you were using USB), you will need to go to the store and buy a.

    4. turn on the cable modem. After that all the lights are on, turn on the router.

    To configure the router:

    Have a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable. Examples given are for a Linksys router. See the manual of your router or the router mftr's Web site. for the parameters by default if you don't have a Linksys. Open a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and in the address bar type:

    http://192.168.1.1 [Enter] (it is default IP address of the router, which varies from router to router then check your manual)

    This will bring you to the login screen of the router. The default username is blank and the Linksys default password is "admin" without the quotes. Enter this information. You are now in the configuration of the router utility. Your configuration utility may be slightly different from mine.

    Click the Administration link at the top of the page. Enter your new password. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE. Re-enter the password to confirm it, and then click Save settings at the bottom of the page. The router will reboot and show you the box of connection again. Do not fill in the user name and put it in your new password to enter the configuration utility.

    Now, click on the link wireless at the top of the page. Change the network name (SSID) wireless by default to something, you'll recognize. I suggest that my clients not use their surname as the SSID. For example, you might want to name your network wireless network "CastleAnthrax" or similar.

    Click on save settings and when you get the prompt that your changes were successful, click the wireless security link which is just beside the Basic Wireless Settings link (where you changed your SSID). If you have a newish computer, you will be able to affect security WPA2-Personal Mode. Do this and enter a password. The password is what you enter on all computers that are allowed to connect to the wireless network. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE.

    At this point, your router is set up and if the computer that you use to configure the router will normally connect wireless, disconnect the Ethernet cable and wireless of the computer should see your new network. Enter the password you created to join the network and start surfing.

    B. file/printer sharing of

    Excellent, comprehensive, but easy to understand article on sharing files/printer under Vista. Contains information about sharing printers and files, and the folders:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

    For XP, start by running the Network Setup Wizard the on all machines (see warning in section A below).

    Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus with "Internet Worm Protection" (like Norton 2006/07) which acts as a firewall, you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this. The instructions on this link work for XP and Vista:

    Set up Windows to automatically connect (MVP Ramesh) - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

    D. Si one or more of the computers is XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. XP Home does not share the users directory or the Program Files, but you can share folders inside those directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents folder. See the first link above for more information on Vista sharing.

    F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers, but it is outside this response.

  • Translation in MAX problem when you configure the SSH server on a cRIO-9068

    Hello

    In my view, that there is a problem with the German translation of the remote switches max on the new cRIO-9068. When you look at the English Version, you see "Enable Secure Shell Server". In the German Version, you see "Secure Shell Server deaktivieren" which meens to disable the SSH server. The box did the same features, so after you disable SSH in can access. This it seems that it is probably just a translation problem.

    Does anyone have an idea how to fix? Thank you.

    David

    Hey David,

    I got it exactly the same problem when I installed a few weeks back. Fortunately, the solution is simple.

    Make sure that you run the config (config.cmd or config.sh) script that is located in the %MIDDLEWARE_HOME%/Oracle_ECM1/common/bin/ directory as opposed to the standard Wizard. This runs the wizard for creating domain with a different set of parameters so that the jython script that executes orders WLST at the end does not fail. If you are using windows, and using the shortcut it is start-> programs-> ECM Oracle 11g - Home1-> configure application server. One of our other guys had a problem where the entry "start in" for this shortcut was bad as well. On mine it is % MIDDLEWARE_HOME%/Oracle_ECM1/install/bin.

    Hope that helps,

    It seems that the employee supervisor is not active for the duration of the employee record.

    Recording using correct supervisor should solve the problem.

  • ORA-12560 error when you try to make a data pump

    I installed oracle 11g and was trying to make a pump of the dev machine data to my computer but when I run the impdp command I get an ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error.

    A co-worker thought that I might need to add a loopback adapter, as this had been the only thing different from his machine, where everything worked fine so I added map of closure, but this still does not work. We thought that perhaps the adapter should be set up first, I so uninstalled the database and installed again, but this also does not work, I still get the same error message.

    Any ideas on what I should try?

    Thanks for any help you can give me.

    Please post the output of the following...

    Set oracle_sid=

    Impdp ........

    I mean it please just paste in the command prompt... It is a great help

Charter, I called and they helped me with the setup but I'm stuck on the last part and it gave me an error on the server. The "connection to the server don't check not" and the Charter was not able to help me through, and they said it's a Microsoft Issue. I need some help here. Please help me! Thank you!

  • What is the difference between using Global or an initiative called when you configure custom or user-defined fields?

    What is the difference between using global or initiative when setting custom fields?
    If you have or are never going to have multiple initiatives, him setting the Global causes all initiatives for this area.  If you start by choosing the initiative or initiatives that you want to use this area (the recommended way to go), you have choices later if you add another initiative.  I always go to the initiative, and then it can be added to the new initiative that I wanted.
  • The ORA-12514 error when you try to connect remotely

    I am trying to connect remotely to the 12 c with SQL Developer Oracle database. In order to connect remotely from another computer, on the server that is running Oracle, I opened a port in the firewall of Windows 7. The listener.ora file, as you can see below, has its default listening port set to localhost.  So, I created second listener called REMOTE_LISTENER, to listen on a different port to 1521.  I put it in place of 1531.  That part worked, but now the listener isn't me in due to this error IN what ORA-12514 earphone does not currently of service required to connect descriptor.

    This is the setting of the SQL Developer on the remote computer:

    CONNECT.JPG

    It's the side server, listener.ora file:

    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = CLRExtProc)
    (ORACLE_HOME = C:\app\Owner\product\12.1.0\dbhome_1)
    (= Extproc PROGRAM)
    (ENVS = "EXTPROC_DLLS=ONLY:C:\app\Owner\product\12.1.0\dbhome_1\bin\oraclr12.dll")
    )
    )

    LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = CIP)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost) (PORT = 1521))
    (SERVICE_NAME = editor)
    )
    )

    REMOTE_LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 192.168.2.19)(PORT = 1531))
    (SERVICE_NAME = editor)
    )
    )

    It's the tnsnames.ora file:

    PUBLISHER =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 192.168.2.19)(PORT = 1531))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = editor)
    )
    )

    LISTENER_EDITOR =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost) (PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = editor)
    )
    )

    ORACLR_CONNECTION_DATA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = CIP)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = CLRExtProc)
    (PRESENTATION = RO)
    )
    )

    As you can see, I edit the file tnsnames.ora slightly to allow a connection to the database of the editor, but my edit does not seem to fix anything. You will notice that I also updated the port 1531 to match the listener in the listeners.ora file.  I can not connect with SQL Developer on the client side. I am able to connect locally with the SQL Developer on the server, but I need to access the database from a different computer.   I am able to connect to the database using SQL more on the server.

    I ran lsnrctl service from the command prompt. Here is the output of this command:

    Connection to (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC) (KEY = EXTPROC1521)) (SERVICE_NAM

    E = editor))

Where it went out, I don't know.  It is certainly not in the tnsnames.ora file, and whenever I run the lsnrctl services command port number changes.  In any case, this part, I think, is a red herring.  I've been spinning my wheels on this one for a few days.  If anyone can help me with the steps to connect to a remote computer via SQL Developer, it would be greatly appreciated.

    So now what would be better, it's if we could get the database to dynamically register with the listener as it should so that I get the READY State.  Could help you with this please, then I think we're done.

    What is the setting for the LOCAL_LISTENER parameter in your database?  To keep things simple, it must be null, which allows the DB to-default - use the 1521 port to communicate with the listener for the record.

    See: (exploring the-local_listener-parameters)

    (SID_DESC =

    (SID_NAME = editor)

    (ORACLE_HOME = C:\app\Owner\product\12.1.0\dbhome_1)

    (GLOBAL_NAME = editor)

    )

    )

    BTW, * if * you insist on using a listener.ora and you insist on the use of the SID_LIST section in this document, you should really use SERVICE_NAME instead of SID_NAME.

  • Error "VM with OS invited not supported" when you configure the pool

    I installed windows XP SP3 64-bit as a parent VM on my server ESXi 5. When I tried to set it as a picture 'default' in a pool in the adjustment section "vcenter server" I faced this error "VM with OS invited not supported." I installed XP 64-bit, because for installation see agent I had to use it.

    The answer is quite simple, but probably not what you want to hear,

    Win XP 64 bit is not supported with only 32-bit view.

    Running Win7 64 bit instead.
