Oracle 11g Installation of Windows R2 problem

Hey everybody,

I tried to install Oracle 11 g R2 on a computer Windows Server 2008 64 - bit. When installing, I get an error several times (about 20 times) message where it says that it can't find some files as C:\app\ora11g\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oc4j\j2ee\oc4j_applications\WFMLRSVCApp.ear and a few other files too. If I click on go in the dialog box whenever an error occurs, the installation will succeed and completes successfully.

What I'm doing wrong, what I have to change anything before installation starts?

I use the 64-bit correct installation files that I downloaded from the homepage of the Oracle...

Edited by: user12266335 the 07.04.2010 05:32

I lived a similar problem. The first file, which it found was:

$ORACLE_HOME\oc4j\...something...\em.ear

There was a lot more after that.

To give you some background, I unzipped my pieces of downloaded files (1 and 2) in the default directories.

Who created two folders:

...\win32_11gR2_database1of2
...\win32_11gR2_database2of2

When I had errors that were missing from the files, I thought I'd try choose my repertoire
to decompress the files. I made sure that now, they went in the same directory:

...\win32_11gR2_database

After that, I don't have the mistakes that I had before. Installation was successful. This technique is indicated in the documentation to a certain extent. However,.
I think they need to emphasize that this is necessary, otherwise the installation will not work. Unlike Oracle 9i when we had several installation
directories (disk1, disk2, disk3, etc.), the 11 GR 2 installer doesn't seem to be able to automatically find other/next directories. Looks like an oversight
or a step backwards for me.

    Hi all

    Hello

First of all, you must make sure that the event viewer service is running, all you have to do is to go to
my computer right click Properties then in computer management, you will find event viewer.

Second, expand the event viewer and go to system and make a right, and then click clear log.
You can do the same step for application.

then come back again and try to create the database :)

but he has not found drivers. I have not found any odbc folder in the oracle client home. Could you please suggest what to do next.

Now, we know that you have installed the 11.2 customer.  As I say, the ODBC drivers are NOT installed by default on this version.

And if you do as I said in my last post:

a default installation, then go back and do a "custom" installation, by specifying the same ORACLE_HOME as before and by selecting the ODBC components.

  • Installation/space Windows Vista problems

Recently the Windows Vista Setup program does not allow the installation of the different software components.  Sometimes I have a vague (as impossible to install) error code, sometimes the installation starts from inside IE and then just comes back to IE. But no installation occurs.

I am slot as Vista Business 64-bit Service Pack 2. (5 gig Ram)

I have between 50 to 500 free MB on the disk. (I have a drive c to 35 gigabytes.  But, windows uses 31 G (winsxs uses 20 G).)  Supposedly, it's a problem of Microsoft to know during the years that they have no desire to fix.  I regularly try to clean the space, but it's like trying to hold back the Mississippi...

    Uninstall seems to work.

I ran various utiilties of Microsoft to try to resolve the problem. (I think this is worse!)

I ran sfc/scannow and it has detected/fixed no problem.

When I was able to capture more storage space (by moving my virtual memory on another drive) briefly the problem has not disappeared.  The Publisher of the software after several hours of searching in various newspapers told me it was a problem of Microsoft Installer.

I don't want to re - install the OS that I don't have a number of my installation for different software products discs (they are all legal).

I'm not so sure that Windows installs my updates properly at this stage either.

Any help would be appreciated.  I'm drowning in time to support.

What is E? The dual computer boot or pagefile on E refers to the operating system in C?

I did not used Easeus Partition Manager, Partition Magic and Acronis who buy software using, but the principles will be similar. What you need to do is to reduce the size of D, so that there is a free space between C and D, and then increase the size of C in this space. You can then increase the size of D in the original unallocated space of 5.86 GB in D.

I suggest that you study the knowledge base, and there is a line on manual. Print the relevant parts. The FAQ in the first link and follow two particularly relevant links:

  • Installing oracle 11g R2 on windows vista

    Hello

I am looking for oracle 11 g R2 installation for my personal use on my computer windows vista laptop. Kindly advice from where I can download and install the same.
Also, I heard a necessity to check if its system is 32 or 64 bit for compatibility.

As indicated in the Installation Guide, Vista Home edition only is not supported. If you cannot use Win XP, your best bet is to install Oracle VM (free downloadable on http://edelivery.oracle.com/oraclevm), then install Oracle Enterprise Linux (free downloadable on http://edelivery.oracle.com/linux), then install your software GR 11, 2 in the OEL VM. Use Google to search for articles that document installation all these pieces of software.

Another option would be to switch to Win 7 Professional, enterprise or Ultimate editions. See the Installation Guide link I posted above.

  • R12 (gel during installtion) installation on windows 2003 problems

    Hello

I try to install R12 on windows 2003.
As per document 402311.1 , I've supported every step of pre-installation (as cygwin installation, active perl, visual c++ 8.0, jre).

After you create the staging area, I started installation of oracle applications using 'rapidwiz.cmd '.

Nothing is progressing in step 1 (at 5%). It shows 'done unzip 38 on 93 '.

Operating system works properly and I am able to perform other activities while the facility was suspended.

I don't know why the installation is hanging / freezing at 5%.

    Suggestions please...

    user454028,

How did you create the staging area directory?

You are able to extract the following file manually in the directory "C:\StageR12\oraDB\Disk2\dbts\stage"?

    Thanks for the directions...

    Hello

What the user did you use to connect? I'm guessing that you logged in as SYS

And then I create a table called Table1. And then I create a new USER and I Connect with the same SID of the database, but the role has the DEFAULT value for this new USER...

So I guess that you have created the table in the SYS schema. You should never, ever create user objects in the SYS schema. If you have created the table in the SYS schema, you really need to drop and create in a more appropriate scheme.

You indicate that you come from SQL Server, so there may be a question of terminology. Which refers to SQL Server as a "database" is roughly equivalent to what Oracle designates as a "scheme." An Oracle database contains many schemas. A schema is the set of objects owned by a particular user.

    01. but the problem is that I can't find the Table1 table for this new user... so how acess as Table1...?

As I said above, you really, really should not create objects in the SYS schema. If you really want, however, you need to log the SYS schema and grant access on the table to your new user

GRANT SELECT ON sys.table1 TO your_new_user

You will then need to fully qualify the table name in your SELECT (or create a synonym or the current_schema)

    SELECT *
      FROM sys.table1

    02. I came to know in Oracle, also we can design forms for the frontend and can generate EXE... Is this true?

Older versions of Oracle Forms would create server executables. The modern versions are used to create three-tier applications. You can also use APEX to build web applications. Of course, you can also generate executables by writing code in another language (often .net).

    03. in SQL Server - Sql Port with static IP - we have access to the database for remote users... Is it possible for Oracle?

Is this possible? Sure. Depending on what means "remote users", however, it may be poorly advised - you would never open a database to the internet directly, for example, you want to ensure that the remote users are connected to your network (via a virtual private network).

  • Oracle 11g installation on Oracle Virtual Box shape [solved]

Hi friends I want to share my experience in oracle forms and reports on Virtual box installation if this post has already been done by someone, I'm really very sorry to post again. My intention is only to make installation as easy as possible, and for your information, this isn't a full installation of forms in itself, it's just for people who would like to work on a standalone machine.

    Software requirements

    (1) oracle Virtual Box
    (2) Xp professional edition - 32-bit
    (3) Oracle 11 g Server
    (4) Weblogic server - specific file name I used for the installation is (wls1033_oepe111150_win32)
    (5) portals oracle forms, reports and discoverer - file name (ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.2.0_32_disk1_1of1, 2, 3, 4)
    (6) portals oracle, forms, reports and discoverer - file name (ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.3.0_32_disk1_1of1) - Patch
    (7) Java 1.6

    Steps for installation

    (1) install Virtual box on your operating system and make sure u create 2 partitions

    c 15 GB and d drive around 10 GB
allocate 2 GB of ram for the virtual machine

    (2) after completing the installation of XP in your area start Virtual installation Oracle 11 gb database that the path for Oracle home or in drive D most of the time oracle Installer chooses D drive if not good to change the D drive.

    (3) now install weblogic server keep installing type as typical, and install the application in the end uncheck 'run quick start '.

    (4) installation portals Oracle, forms, reports and discoverer - name of file (ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.2.0_32_disk1_1of1, 2, 3, 4) - unzip all files four zip and place it in the same folder and the open disk1 and run the installer. during installation choose install only software. Note: Do not try to configure.

    (5) once who completed unpack the content of second forms which is the file name (ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.3.0_32_disk1_1of1) - unzip the contents to a folder and run the installer it will update all the software generated by your previous installation.

    (6) now go to step 5 - this time, while installing choose install and configure, it will create the process required to run forms and reports.

Very important note: make sure that your Home of Oracle Directory is "as_1" or else to ensure that that name u give all by performing step 5 and give the name of the same to step 6 and again when you run step 5 _

    (7) now all the required tools has been installed now a little tweaking to make it work.

    (a) copy the file tnsname.ora from the folder < username > \product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN D:\app\ next
    (b) paste it in the folder - C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config replace the file.

    (8) install the version of Java 1.6 or later

    (9) move shortcuts to programs and find the as_inst1 Oracle Instance classic-> Forms Services-> start weblogic server

    (10) make shortcuts of programs and find the as_inst1 Oracle Instance classic-> Developer Tools-> Forms Builder

You now have your Oracle Forms and reports ready. If something is wrong in the right steps you forgive me (but tested a few times).
