Orange satellite C660 "blinking led"?

My C660 is about 15 months now and no additions/software etc. since purchase of Argos is managed primarily by the sector.

However, a few months ago I noticed the front left (DC IN / battery) seeing blinking amber, and the right LED (green electricity) had completely - out despite being connected.

I fixed it by unplugging / plugging the power cord into the laptop, but the problem has persisted over the past months. I can eventually get the battery charge but it takes sometimes several attempts to do, and the light becomes even solid orange flashing orange fresh medium (leading then to an another unplug/plug). However, I get the message "plugged in, not charging".

When I get the flashing amber he simply lists the remaining power and continues to lose, despite being connected.

This could possibly be a ropey connection or bad in the power cable? Probably the cord adapter sector?

Yes, it might be possible that the connection between the power adapter and a laptop power chord is loose or maybe the power cord on the motherboard fails.
Its really hard to tell what might be bad exactly.

I think in the first step, you should check if the adapter is OK. The laptop must be tested with new good adapter to work. If the problem would still appears... Well then the motherboard needs a check

Last year, I bought a portable Satellite C660 - 1 to 3 of the United Kingdom; even today, I'm using the factory settings and running the operating system originally installed Windows 7. Here's the question I started yesterday face to leave:
-Even when the battery is connected and the laptop running, the power meter shows a decline, with the notification level "plugged in, not charging." The orange LED keeps blinking

-However, when I completely stopped the laptop, without touching anything anyone (not even touch the adapter or the power cord), the orange LED indicates the battery charging process stops flashing and becomes stable

-Turn the laptop, for about 1 minute or so, the battery seems to be loading (message of orange LED flashes do not and "clogged, load"). However, soon again the orange LED starts flashing and the message of nuisance comes once again to the top

    A number of things:
-the battery seems to be working well and load properly when the laptop is stop (in fact, until a few days back, the battery used to show 02:30 hours of time available on 100% charge level)
is there a problem with the operating system? no idea on that

can experts help me solve this problem? I really don't want to approach the Service because of the long distance involved.

    Hello Biren

Not sure if I can help you but I would like to give you some advice.

    (1) check if your BIOS is up to date. If Toshiba driver European page provides a newer version, then update the BIOS. In addition, set the default BIOS by pressing F9 and save modified pressing F10.
    (2) try to calibrate the battery. To calibrate the battery you completely discharge the battery and charge it again. Repeat 2-3 times in the line.
    (3) remove the battery and the AC adapter and press the power button / stop (30 sec long) and then connect the two parts and check if the LED begin to blink.

Finally, I think that the laptop needs to be tested using new, good battery to work. But if the issue still persists, then I guess that your motherboard might be affected.

  • Satellite C660-268 does not start, no start screen

My laptop Toshiba Satellite C660-268 was installing updates, then it froze for half an hour, I decided to force quit by pressing the power button.

I tried power, portable could not wake up, I can hear the fan but screen is not black, no post/splash screen (Bios screen), turn on the led goes for a few seconds and then turn off. I tried to press the important function, but nothing could make my laptop boot or stay on. Please,

I need your help in order to remake my boot laptop

I think that some of the material died during update installation.
From my point of few, it was simply bad luck that this error occurred during the update of the system.

There is only one real solution: the troublemaker should be found and replaced.

Theoretically, this issue can result from memory problems, but also the failure of the motherboard. The RAM modules are not very expensive and where the RAM is faulty, the fix is not a big problem.

But in case of malfunction of the motherboard, the laptop repair could be a very costly affair.

What could be the next step?
I think if you have no experience of mainframe, you should seek some professional help and assistance.

    Hey,.

I agree with BobRock_1. All the drivers and tools that you can find on the official website of Toshiba. Your model is compatible with Windows XP. :-)

But before starting with the installation of the drivers, I recommend the installation of Service Pack 3 for XP. It contains many security updates and also two patches for the sound card you need. Otherwise, you are not able to install audio driver properly.

You can download SP3 from Microsoft's official website. The installation is no problem, everything is done automatically. :)

  • Satellite C660-1J1 does not illuminate

    Hi guys!

First sory about my English, I'm from Croatia

I have the Satellite c660-1j1 for about 2 years now and never had any problem until 2 days ago, when he stops in the middle of work after which he used to shoot more. I tried to remove the battery and the ac power button and hold it down for 30 seconds, remove hard drive, ram etc. and did not help. I noticed that when I press start button / right stop green light flashes once and that's it... nothing another hapend... also, I noticed that it happens only when the battery is plugged... If I remove the battery and leave one plugged ac nothing happens... laptop completely died... also I tried plugging another adapter that I know it's working, and same thing.

So I think something is wrong with motherboard or dc in the Jack cable and power supply.

I would like to fix this myself if I need your opinion what could be a problem, so I can buy a right-hand side.

I hope if someone knows this problem or knows what that means green flashing of led.

    Thanks in advance

When you connect power AC is DC led on?

    > I would like to fix this myself if I need your opinion what could be a problem, so I can buy a right-hand side.
I can't say for sure but I'm afraid there is an electronic power problem and I don't think that you can remedy only Mr. it is part of the motherboard. In the end you can't find parts for laptop easier with regard to jobs.

In the past a guy from Croatia reported on the good service of Toshiba in Zagreb. www.mojservis.HR maybe you should communicate with the guys who work there and ask for help or advice.

  • Satellite C660-108 does not start if the USB Bluetooth dongle connected

    Hiya,

I hope you could help me.

I'm having a problem with my dongle bluetooth and satellite c660-108.
It all works perfectly. It connects devices via bluetooth and I can do whatever I want.

But then when I'm mobile stop and turn it on again it will go if the bluetooth dongle is always in the USB.

I see Toshiba screen and then it hangs with a black screen and a cursor flashing at the top left.
I have to turn it off, remove the bluetooth dongle and then turn it back on.
And then windows starts. After that, I put in bluetooth dongle, once again I want to work with her.

It isn't a huge problem, but it is a bit annoying when I have to leave the bluetooth and put it back again to get the windows began.
I'm running under win 8.1 but he already had with 8 victory.

    Anyone any ideas?

    > I see Toshiba screen and then it hangs with a black screen and a cursor flashing at the top left.
Especially the blinking cursor is displayed because the laptop can not find a boot device.

It seems that the device cannot put on the HARD drive while the USB dongle is connected.
I would recommend you check the boot order in the BIOS.

Put the HARD drive in the first place and the USB boot last device.
Save changes and check if it helps.

  • Satellite C660-223 - system caution: "" problem with cooling detected system "".

When I carry my Satellite C660-223 somewhere for example wear at home to College in a protective case in my backpack, I sometimes get a window warning flashing upward every 20 seconds or so said system + "warning: a problem with the cooling system has been detected." Please turn the computer off immediately and return it for service. +

This only happens when I transported somewhere and as a first step, that these warnings system flashed only sometimes upwards after I hauled somewhere, but in the last two years, he started to get pretty much whenever I took the laptop somehwere. When the system warnings blink until the computer doesn't feel a little warmer than normal. no danger of overheating, immediately.

I didn't fix it because the problem seems to resolve itself the next time that I carried the computer somewhere. It's a very strange problem where the short-term solution was the same as the cause: as in I would take the laptop somewhere, the warning system flash upwards and I learned that take "for a walk" would fix somehow everything which was the 'problem '. I solved the problem in this way too often so he could be a coincidence.

So for a while it wasn't really a problem because I just didn't take the laptop anywhere. But the warning system has recently start flashing to the top if I wear just the laptop on the floor, and the warning system does not disappear with my method incredibly non-tech-savvy to "go for a walk", which I am sure many here would give something to laugh :).

The obvious answer is that I need to get the service pronto thing, but I'm in the middle of final exams and the situation of tech in my house means I can't leave the laptop away for service for who knows how long when I really need to study.

Responses, I'm hoping to get are ideas as to what actually caused this problem and short-term solutions that are a little better informed that my approach "going for a walk".

I think THAT what is, is that the movement to carry your laptop around in a backpack something within the done cooling system moving out of place causing the evil TI work. I say this because, while writing this thread I was turn the laptop over and over again to get a look at the stickers on the back and the practice that seems to have "solved" the problem of warning system because this window flashes up while he was only a few minutes ago.

It seems so that all component moved his place before been moved back again by the movement to turn the laptop over and over. And I was not even take him for a walk!

    Any help? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

This notification may appear for different reasons.
The alert might appear due to
    (1) cooling system malfunction
    (2) blocked cooling vents or fans
    (3) software question (VAP - added value package or BIOS)

Malfunction of the cooling system, you should contact the service agents at the difficulty.

In case of a blocked vent and fans it s enough to clean the parts using a jet of compressed air.
This allows to get rid of dust inside the cooling module.

If the vents are not blocked and you still see this message, check the application of the service station for updates on your computer. If any are found, download and install.
You can try to uninstall or update the Toshiba value added Package. This package contains a few essential tools and utilities that control the cooling system too.
    Also check BIOS update.

But if you continue to receive this error, your laptop may require repair

  • Replacing the screen on the Satellite C660-2EH

Hi, I'm looking for a replacement screen for my Satellite C660-2EH and I can't find a specific model. I could buy the generic screen come to label C660? In some I found, for example:

    http://www.laptop-power.co.UK/laptop-screens/Toshiba-compatible/satellite/series-C660/model-C660.html

    http://www.laptopscreenonline.com/Toshiba-Satellite-C660-replacement-screen-laptop-LCD-15982-p.asp

Would appreciate any help that someone could give me on this matter, thank you!
    Zoe.

In my view the two links are OK, and you can't do anything wrong. AFAIK all C660 models use the same LCD display with following specifications:

Display Type - color display TFT LCD
    Size (diagonal) - 15.6 "(HD)
    Resolution - 1366 x 768
    -16:9 aspect ratio
Type of LED lighting - light side.

Only the difference can be a salesman or the brightness to level 8.

When you order this use being it's HD LED screen.

By the way: you want to exchange it only? I mean it's not so easy and if you don t have any experience with this kind of things that you should ask for help.

    Be careful about this.

  • Keyboard backlit on Satellite C660

    Greetings.

I recently bought a Satellite C660, but now I would like to know if it is possible to replace the standard keyboard by an illuminated. A backlit keyboard won't work because she needs some kind of a power supply for LED? Toshiba sells such component individually?

    Egert

    These updates is not possible.
Backlit keyboard needs supply and must be connected to the small port on the motherboard. If your card mother doesn t have there is therefore no chance to use the backlit keyboard.

    I'm sorry.

  • The problem of Satellite C660-1F1

My satellite C660-1F1 has load problems.

It started with the yellow light flashing one a message "plugged in don't not load" it is now completely out of charge and fires almost every time that I try to start.

If I remove the battery and use just electric 2 green lights come on but it cuts during the boot process too.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Hello

Hmm... looks a bit like a motherboard problem.
I think that the adapter is OK because the power led is lit if you plug the laptop on the sector...
I'm not thinkt that the issue could be related to battery failure because if the battery would be affected, then the laptop must always run connected to the power adapter (in mains mode).

So, it seems that the problem may be caused by dysfunction of the motherboard...

A question: is your BIOS up-to-date?

  • Satellite C660 - battery not charging

    Hello

My laptop Satellite C660 series is just over a year.

I went to use and a message appears saying that my battery was dead and use a different power source.
I plugged the adapter, but nothing happened.

Does that mean that my battery is dead or the adapter is broken or worse still, my computer is dead.

He had no idea what could be wrong or is it just a new battery needed.

    Thanks for any help.

What exactly happens when you connect the power adapter?
What is the status of the DC IN / battery indicator?

The * green * colour indicates the adapter CA is plugged everything in feeding correctly to the computer and the battery is fully charged

The * orange * color indicates the adapter is plugged in and the battery is being charged

The * indicator flashing Amber * indicates the battery charge is low. the adapter must be connected to the battery. Or it might indicate the problem with feeding

    * No light *-> under other conditions the indicator does not illuminate.

  • My Satellite C660-1UJ does not start

    Hello people,

My laptop Toshiba Satellite * c660-1uj starts up.

It does nothing when I press the powerbutton.
When I connect the poweradapter I hear a clicking sound, as it is with or without the battery and I also see the light (led) battery flashes green.

I think it has something to do with my motherboard, but I'm not sure.

I would like to be sure before you buy a new.
Does anyone know where the problem is and how to fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Sjoerd

    > I think it has something to do with my motherboard, but I don't know.
Yes, I think that this problem could be related to problems of motherboard.
But this would be the worst case, given that the new motherboard is very expensive part I gues guarantee is not valid?

But why you put the memory t-test? Faulty RAM memory may prevent startup laptop and power. Replace the RAM module is not very difficult.

Of course, you would need to buy new modules for verification, but maybe you could visit some technicians computer/laptop to downtown who could test the device with new RAM modules.
In this case it would be pointless to buy the parts for testing purposes only.

  • Satellite C660-184 freezes at random times while playing a game.

Laptop freezes at random times while playing Football Manager 2011. The game is not graphics intensive and worked for about a month with no problems, just recently it started to freeze, and the only thing I can do is to turn off my laptop by the power button.

My graphics driver is up to date, said my last is 28/07/2010.

I am at a loss to explain what is happening.

Help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

    > The game is not graphics intensive and worked for about a month without any problems, has recently started to freeze
This could mean that the laptop is overheating
The reason for overheating is the dust that blocks the fan for laptop gets hotter

I recommend to clean using a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. You can do it without disassembling the computer so it is very easy and takes only 5 minutes.
Just remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter before doing this.

For example I clean my laptop every 4 months because a lot of dust is coming so it s worth it.

  • Satellite C660-2EL off - would not turn back on this time

I hope this is the right place to put this. I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-2EL and last night it shut down without warning, nothing. He would not go back at all, he just kind of this noise as if it were die a death slow and had the green light etc., but then off back again once, I noticed that my battery had come to lose (which sometimes happens) so I put back and tried again, nothing.

I also tried with my charger and everything in place, again this time that there is an orange light flashing, no green light and a-type noise that squeaks really horrible. Come on now, this morning, I decided to try it all again and it works? * Anyone know what this could be? *

I have insurance and I think just take it to them because of this and see what they think, as it's the second time it happened, although the first time, he never turned back, and Toshiba, it had some water damage and was so my fault and I had to send it to the normal setting so it can be fixed.

    Thank you all!

On this virtual path, it is not easy to discuss these issues. Generally better you can do is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider, ask for help and try to clarify this with the technicians.

If you have a valid insurance try to ask for help and get free fixed.

Sorry, but what else to say about it.

  • Satellite C660-2EL does not start

    Hi guys,.

After a few days full of frustration here I am.

I am working on a friends Satellite C660-2EL
He was stuck in the endless loop of boot Win 7 and would not be recovered by any means.

So I decided a format was the way to go.
After the format using partition magic everything's fine.
I reinstalled Win 7 and the installation was also fine. Once the installation is complete, and it's a reboot that I decided to jump into the BIOS and change the order of boot if I put the CD Drive first. If after changing the settings and then save and quit this crap won't start at all now, no CD HD or anything else.

The toshiba screen flashes upward, but when I hit F2 now it freezes just tell to get into Setup.
When I try to hit F12 the screen goes back to the blinking cursor.
If I press anything I get the white screen with the cursor.

I saw a video on you tube to reset the CMOS, I tried it work with no luck.

    Any ideas guys?

    Hello

You want to say you have a cursor blinking in the upper left corner and the unit does not start CD or HARD drive?
The blinking cursor is above all a sign of failure of the HARD drive.

I recommend that you check the HARD drive with the help of a tool (freeware) called Drive Fitness Test.
This tool creates a bootable disk that scans the HARD drive for malfunctions.

If the HARD drive's fault, it be replaced
