Calculation of the licenses for Weblogic and SOA Suite
Hi gurus,
Being an oracle DBA, I give myself a task to calculate for a weblogic suite and soa oracle licenses. I went through a few docs, but there are many jargon that I didn't understand.
If someone could please help me get information below
(1) how the oracle County allows for WEBLOGIC and SOA suite. Does rely on the counts of base as in the case of Enterprise edition?
(2) how to find information on licenses. Any support notes?
Kind regards
Lancerique.
Hi there Lancerique,
(1) how the oracle County allows for WEBLOGIC and SOA suite. Does rely on the counts of base as in the case of Enterprise edition?
Oracle has the licenses of WebLogic Server (Enterprise Edition and Suite) and SOA Suite in the same way they do for EA DB, i.e. using the basic factor and multiplying by the number of cores. I'm sure you're familiar with the hard and soft political partitioning of Oracle (to run the Oracle products in virtualized environment)
(2) how to find information on licenses. Any support notes?
As for the database, Oracle provides "Licensing information" contained in the documentation. You can find details about what is included in each of the FMW SKU licensed by Oracle. For the 12.1.3 version, you can find the license here news - Oracle Fusion Middleware Licensing Information Manual® - materials.
You should consider the development and test environments, if you plan to build their. They must also be licensed.
And one more Council - as FMW products consist of several components, if you want to run the individual component on different machines (for example, Oracle BAM and Oracle SOA on a machine running on another) must summarize all hearts (in the example for the two machines) that run the prod.
And when you're done with the counting I recommend contact you the representative office of Oracle you check the calculations.
Hope this helps,
A.

Difference between SOA Suite 64 Bit and SOA Suite 32 Bit
Hello
I'm new to SOA. I want to install SOA Suite 64 Bit on my laptop with 64-bit system and a window 8 64-bit.
I'm curious to know what what is the difference between SOA Suite 64 Bit and SOA Suite 32 Bit.
There are various facilities available for the 64-bit and 32-bit?
Or
The facilities are same for 64-bit and 32-bit, but it's only depends on whether the JDK is 64-bit or 32-bit.
Thank you
Prashant jegou
Hi Prashant, there.
If you use the JDK that is bundled with WLS, I think that you have installed 32 - bit.
The best way to check is to run java-version on the prompt of the JDK that helps run the suite servers SOA. Another approach is to examine the server log and files where the start is unloaded and you should be able to see the seller of the JVM and architecture.
To install WLS 64-bit, you must use the generic installation program (.jar) which requires a JDK 64 - bit pre-installed. And then on top, with installation of SOA.
I never tried to SOA on 32-bit and I think that it is not stable at all due to the limited segment size you can allocate for the JVM.
Hope this helps,
Anatoli

Discoverer and SOA suite AS stands - I need another AS level for Disco?
Hi all
I have spent today watching the installation for Discoverer 10.1.2.3 requirements have SOA Suite installed 10.1.3.4.
What I have to install the standalone version in which the discoverer, but also that of SOA Suite or discoverer can fail installation SOA?
Appreciate any thoughts on above spent some time searching through records to see if it would be possible to have a level shared for Disco and SOA suite. It seems unlikely, but wanted to check others who may have looked on this.
Thank you CelHi Cel
Discoverer cannot fail to the OC4J installed for SOA. You need to install the separate stand-alone version for Discoverer. I also recommend installing this on its own server.Best wishes

SOA Suite 10g and SOA Suite 11g? What are the major changes in these two?
Hi Experts,
I'd be curious to know about Soa Suite 11 g. SOA Suite 10 g SOA Suite 11 g, BPEL changes? What are the major changes in these two product/tool wise? Is now OSB belongs to Soa Suite 11 g? It would be useful for us to know what are the major changes and updates or changes came to 11g.
Please share this valuable information.
Is it that no matter what version is still running Oracle, which has not yet officially launched with oracle?Hello
I think that the most important changes are:
1. move on Weblogic Server.
2. creation of a unified period. Which means that everything plugs into it. SOA, BPM, OSB, B2B...Additional features like the NDA: Composites within network-based event. SDO: Service Data Objects to transfer information and from db, adf (if I'm not mistaken)
Tighter integration with the ADF.A few extensions to BPEL. Such as the events of Signal etc. Don't know if it's standard or specific to Oracle extension.
But you get the idea. A lot of changes, a lot of things improved and move functionality.

Hi all
Is there a way to create an adapter of JCA with OSB and weblogic server database without using JDeveloper and SOA Suite 11 g?
We use the 10.3.1 OSB and Im trying to find a way to implement an outgoing connection to the database in order to write data with a JCA adapter.
I read this in an old NET:
A new version of the Oracle Service Bus (OSB 10.3.1) is now available, quick list of new features of OSB:
* JCA Transport with certified JCA adapters
* Support for generate config.jar of command-line or ant task.
* Improvements to the native MQ Series Transport.
* New API to support the SOA Management Pack for the BSO.
But I can't find a way. any information would be great and even better a kind of example / tutorial
ThnxIs there a way to create an adapter of JCA with OSB and weblogic server database without using JDeveloper and SOA Suite 11 g?
SOA Suite 11 is not required to use the JCA in OSB 10.3.1 adapters. JDEV 10.3.1 with extensions of SOA is required, with which we cannot use in OSB 10.3.1 JCA adapters.
We use the 10.3.1 OSB and Im trying to find a way to implement an outgoing connection to the database in order to write data with a JCA adapter.
(1) open project Jdev (BEPEL/Ombudsman)
(2) create links of partner for the DB adapter
(3) in the JDEV project, there will be wsdl created for the partner link. This made WSDL refers to another wsdl and xsd.
(4) import all the dependencies of the WSDL in OSB
(5) create a BS/PS based on wsdl and download the corresponding toplink file above wsdl (accessible to the general public using jdev project).Let me know if the steps above are not clear
Re: Integration of own in OSB JCA adapters

Not able to install Jedeveloper on SOA Suite 11 g 11.1.1.6

I have installed SOA suite 11 g 11.1.1.6 version (Oracle XE, RCU, WL 10.3.6.0 and SOA suite are installed) downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/downloads/index.html. Installation suite SOA works well with em and console the two climb properly.
However, try to install Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6 downloaded from the same link throwing under error for weblogic version installed is the 10.3.6.0

Has anyone are faced with this problem, please let me know the fix for this?

GirishHi Girish
Make sure that you install JDeveloper and WLS + SOA totally different middleware at (different folders). See below the message for more information:JDeveloper and WLS/SOA 11.1.1.6 upgrade
Moreover, JDeveloper version goes head-to-head with WLS + SOA Version. As you have installed SOA 11.6, be sure to download and install version 11.6 JDev only. Older versions may work, but it is not recommended and usually not taken in charge.

Can I use the same Weblogic Server for soa suite 11 g and OSB panels?
Hi all
Is it possible to use the same server weblogic for SOA suite 11 and OSB?Hi Arun,
SOA 11 g is running on weblogic version 10.3.2 OSB is running on weblogic 10.3, so you can't have two SOA suite 11 g and the OSB on weblogic even (not EVEN in the two areas of same weblogic). You must have two facilities of weblogic. (at this time)
After the next release of OSB (planned for H2), you can run both the same weblogic.

Oracle SOA Suite - mediator for Protocol switching and limitation of
Hello
I tried to get the exact answer on the internet and also in the Oracle Doc, but in the oracle doc also what is written "Compatible transport protocols, including e-mail, FTP, HTTP (S), file and JMS" but the full list of supporting the Protocol do not receive even for Ombudsman in SOA Suite also.
can someone please respond to these requests.
Q1. Mediator dose provide Message even as OSB dose limitation?
Q2. Mediator dose allow protocol for example SOAP at the REST or JMS with MQ etc even as OSB?
or mediator provide switching protocol but have limited options for Protocol against the OSB (OSB stand verity of the Protocol)
Q3. Please tell me what protocol are supported by the Ombudsman and which are supported by OSB
Thank you
Customer reviews...
Q1. Ombudsman dose provide Message even as the OSB dose limitation?
-No, the mediator has Message limiting feature compared to the OSB.
Q2. Ombudsman dose allow protocol for example SOAP at the REST or JMS with MQ etc even as the BSO?
or mediator provide switching protocol but have limited options for Protocol against the OSB (OSB stand verity of the Protocol)
-The mediator is a component on SOA. Here you are talking about the whole flow which allows to convert, say, a SOAP for a REST request. This can be achieved through "Service SOAP-> mediator-> REST reference" in a composite on SOA. Ombudsman is not necessary to have this ability, because this functionality is provided as part of basic infrastructure in the suite of SOA.
Q3. Please tell me what protocol are supported by the Ombudsman and which are supported by OSB
-Again, it is more SOA infrastructure that provides the Protocol for inbound and outbound scenarios support. More SOA supports bindings of SOAP, REST, FTP, LDAP etc. If you can say to your specific requirement then I can provide more detailed information.
Kind regards

SOA Suite 11g includes the OSB?
What is the difference between OSB and BSE.
BSE is a component of the SOA Suite and it can connect to various services.
OSB has more functions such as dynamic routing and enrichment of the Message. If I buy just SOA suite, can I use OSB? Or I have to buy OSB if I want to use it in my application that contains the components of SOA.I think with the permit SOA suite 11 g, you can use the OSB. No need to buy it separately. You can view-
