P1102w turns off after a while. Win 7 in settings is set to never off

OK worked before the firmware update

Hi @Hugh131 ,

I see by your post that the printer turns off, even if it is set to never in the print driver since the update of the firmware of the printer. I would like to help you today.

The manual indicates default automatic setting of the time before is at 5 minutes. Page 55 of the manual. LASERJET PROFESSIONAL P1100 printer. But there is also a setting in the driver put it forever.

Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

Power cycle the router, restart the computer and the printer.

Try again.

I would say to uninstall and reinstall the printer software, just in case where updating of the firmware affected this setting.

Uninstalling the printer software.

Install the latest drivers from this link the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer drivers.

Hmm have you tried to reinstall / recover the laptop to see if it helps to solve this problem?
In my opinion you should try it because it could be a problem in the system.

Otherwise if new system installation / restore does not help you, it could be a malfunction of the equipment.

  • Windows Vista's sleep mode after 20 minutes while playing PC games even though my power settings are set to NEVER.

    Thank you

    Hello

    1. what happens when you restart the computer from sleep? It back to windows, such as the release of sleep or does go through the normal boot process?

2 have you done any recent software or the hardware changes on your computer?

    3. don't you face the problem only by playing games?

    Method 1:

I suggest you to run a full scan of your computer and check.

    Microsoft Security Essentials

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials

Note: If infections are detected during the scan, it is possible that infected files would be deleted.

    Method 2:

I also suggest you to start your computer in a clean boot state, and check if all third-party software could be the cause. Clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Don't forget to return the computer to normal after completing the troubleshooting by following the steps described in step 7.

    Method 3:

I also suggest that you perform a clean boot material to check if the problem is caused by any device.

Follow these steps to perform a clean boot material:

    a. disconnect all external devices.

    b. start the computer in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    c. click 'Start', type 'DEVMGMT.» SMC"in the search text box and press ENTER."

    d. expand "graphics cards".

    e. right click on your graphics card, select "Properties"

    f. click the "driver" tab, click on disable (disable the selected device). Click OK

    g. use the same method to disable other devices such as: map of the sound card, Modem, network, CD - R drive. Note Some devices not available must be disabled.

    h. restart the computer.

After you turn off the devices, start in normal mode and try to activate the devices one by one and check which device is causing the problem.

  • Window XP setting after a while

    Nice day

I work some time on this and I am currently few options.

    Location:

We have 26 workstations on 1 vlan with a configuration which has been 3 years already. This vlan is new.

This vlan is connected with fiber optics and well cables some switches. The problem is that if we put jobs there computers are starting to pick up after a while. Some time is completely random and never the all of them but 2 or 3. I mean by wedging is sometimes you see the ntloader starts and sometimes during work on the pc, it takes 5 minutes to start the cmd prompt. But after a while (10 minutes later), it works normally again for a while and start over again.

I watched the eventviewer there is no significant problem that I see /firewall dns works correctly. Also proc LUN and Explorer of proc and bootvis shows nothing weird. If I place a workstation to a different VLAN in this segment, it slows down after a day, en when I put a machine since the new vlan also it works.

The computer is not just slow down internet speed that it stalls it looks like everything with hard disk i/o is going slower. And when I restart the machine he can go further or not. Normally, we have speed 68/mbit for download something, but then it breaks down less than 1 MB.

Someone has an idea that I am using wireshark now for inbound traffic.

    Visa update problem

After trying to install the updates.  my computer is now stuck in constant reboot mode while showing "Configuring updates 3 of 3 0%, do not turn off your computer.  I tried to follow the instructions provided here because it seemed to be the same problem.  But when I restart and hold down the F8 key so I can boot into safe mode, I tried selecting safe mode and I get the same results, and I tried again by selecting the option 'Disable automatic reboot' which seems to be an option on the same page with the option of safe mode.  Whatever it is, the same message comes back and I can never get to where I can see my desktop to click 'start '.  I can't get out of this cycle.  I installed the update because it said I needed to install it.

Turn off your computer by holding the power button for about 20 seconds.

Start your computer in safe mode: press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure:

    • Click Start
    • Click on Control Panel
    • Click on system and Maintenance link.
    • Click on the system link
    • In the left pane, click Advanced system settings
    • Locate the startup and recovery area, click the settings button.
    • In the startup and recovery window, uncheck the box next to automatically restart.
    • Click OK in the startup and recovery window
    • Click OK in the System Properties window
    • Close the system window

After that... While STAYING in safe mode I do a system restore and maybe try a manual install of the update later.

Appears not to occur if there is activity going on--as if do me some work or have itunes playing music or I'm just surfing the internet. Curiously, it seems not to happen if I close Internet Explorer and Outlook.

I want to clarify if your computer seems to be sleeping or it completely closed after being idle for a while.

Method 1: If the computer is in power saving mode, check if you can wake the computer from this State by moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard.

Method 2: Change the power to another and check to see if the problem persists
Change, create, or delete a power plan (scheme)

Method 3: check the logs in event viewer for more information on auto-off down

    Open event viewer

What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer)

  • Satellite A100-812: screen brightness does not not & screen turns off after a while

Some power management features do not work after a bios update (5.90).
The display brightness can be changed in the power manager, or the top menu system. In the power manager, the cursor can be moved, but the brightness is not set. Toshiba menu system appears to hang on trying to change the brightness with F6 - F7 and won't move the cursor.

In addition, the screen does not turn off after the set amount of minutes in the power manager.

What is going on? How can this be repaired?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Some questions; Why you have updated the BIOS?
Are you sure you used the right BIOS?

In my opinion you shouldn't t to update anything if the laptop works properly!

However, try to access the BIOS, set the default settings and save the settings before exiting the BIOS.
If this does not help, I would pick up the laptop with the Toshiba Recovery CD.

  • Win 7 x 64: No. WWAN after the resumption of the mode standby and Bluetooth turned off

    Hey guys,.

I had this problem for a few weeks 1-2, after the exit of the mode ensures my WWAN - the Sony Ericsson 3507g - modem is invisible and my Bluetooth is disabled.

WWAN: the light is off, there is no switch on the screen Fn + F5 and power off/on with the hardware switch does nothing either, after a reboot, that everything is back to normal again until you go back to sleep. A few days ago he suddenly perfectly well but when I had to restart, the problem is back.

Bluetooth: the adapter is always disabled after sleep and sometimes after a reboot, I can not find a model to know when this happens exactly... but I have since my WWAN modem is upward I can't help but wonder if it has the same cause...

I already did a complete new installation of Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 today and I'm under the latest Vista drivers, because those who do not work with the Ericsson Wireless Manager Windows 7, they ran flawlessly for a few weeks, so that they should not be the problem...

BOT of the above issues is dealbreakers for me because I'm using WWAN all the time and I use a Bluetooth mouse... then... Please help me ;-)

    Thank you in advance,

    Stefan

I think I found the culprit: the last time I had this problem I didn't know what was the reason.

After that the above post I got it works fine until recently it suddenly reappeared without having done me anything (Finally, I've done something, but I couldn't understand that).

I installed a few games, but nothing about the wwan adapter.

I also had the same problem to launch a vanilla Ubuntu 9.10 x 64.

Finally it dawned on me that, just as the problem the first time, I had also installed Ubuntu. I think that something about the way that Ubuntu handles the umts modem makes it behave this way.

This time (since I seen Ubuntu as the reason yet and I couldn't understand anything more), I opened the Thinkpad and looked for clues as to why this was happening - loose cables and all that - but nothing was wrong. I also disconnected the small backup battery for a few minutes to reset all the BIOS (except the part that is not volatile of course) - who probably had the same effect as turn off/turn on the modem I/O on-screen that solved the problem last time.

Then, I rebooted, entered the BIOS, responsible for the default installation with F9 and it suited my needs. Since then he has worked flawlessly again...

I'm not sure that Ubuntu bad, but it's the only logical explanation, and I think that's the reason why some mistreatment of the modem which required a "reset" on the base material, it is why a complete reinstallation of Windows did not do one thing...

For now, I can just advise all users T500 WWAN to avoid Linux - Ubuntu, especially - at least until understand you what causes the strange behavior.

Just my 50 ct other people with the same problem so some ideas on how to solve this problem.

  • C50-A-1HF satellite will turn off by itself after 2 seconds

    Hello

the laptop turns off by itself after 2 seconds when I turn it on. This happens if I shutted down or choosed hibernate before (Win8.1).

This means hibernation is not at all useable.

The next time I turn it on it works quite normal! Sleep mode works as well. Standby mode it is ready for use after open them both as a repetitive. Fascinating!

I looked on all the settings of the BIOS, but I found nothing what could be the reason for this behavior.

Perhaps there is a correlation with another strange behavior. The battery will not be charged over 80%. I do not use the green mode. I have to turn off the laptop and remove the battery completely for a minute. After inserting and booting Win8.1 what it charges again at 100%.

The discharge time is approximately 3.5 hours. Otherwise, the battery is ok.

But after the next discharge up to 10% charge that up to 80% more.

These two effects are not normal. But I don't think (or better, I hope) that there is a material defect.

Is there a chance does not post the laptop to a repair service?

    Best regards

    Onurbi

Hey man it are so strange problems and it's not easy to say what to do. All you can do is to install the original recovery image and test with the settings once more, of course without changing anything or install updates or additional applications.

If possible to do this and test it for a while.
    > Is there a chance does not post the laptop to a repair service?
As you probably know your possibilities to do something about this are very limited and if there is permanent problem I think you should contact the closest service Toshiba and clarify all of this.
You have the new laptop model and it should work properly. If you are not happy and there are service problems Toshiba should take are about it and help you.

  • help my macbook pro retina 13inch started itself and turned off while in the case

as the title, my Macbook pro retina (bought in 2014) is transformed and then turn off 5 minutes later while in his case today, I only noticed after reviewing the event log and seeing a start and stop.  How can this happen? the Mac was definitely off not asleep and I did not put a timer.

It is unusual for a Mac to act this way, but this is not the first time that I heard about what's going on.

It looks like a problem SMC and is easily fixed by a reset see here reset management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support this will most likely solve the problem.

If this isn't the case, then it could be a simple sticky switch?

A visit to a Genius Bar is perhaps a good idea if the SMC reset does not work for you, and a new OSX installation did not help.

  • Screen remains black/stop after having turned off to save energy.

I have this problem on two different Porteges with
    Windows 98 Second edition.

They are then handed achieved both and all drivers are
as noted on the internett. And windows 98 is
Standard CD (not the CD from Toshiba). Both have the latest version of the BIOS.

Everything works fine, it's the only
    problem.

In Control Panel-> display->... you can specify
settings/energy savings. I think I turn off screen
After 2 minutes and turn off hard drive 5 minutes.

It works very well. The screen goes black, then I
can relight it by moving the pointer ('mouse').

But if I leave it for a long time and get to him,
then the screen stays black. (This is the problem).

But everything still works fine! ... and
I can do a controlled stop by pressing ctrl-alt-del
ALT - s, while the screen is black.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Hello

Portege models do you have? Because as you have explained, you use the power management MS which isn't one that fits!

You can watch http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com - Driver Downloads If the Toshiba Power Saver is available for your units and W98!

It may be that old W98 Powermanagement has problems with the complex of the portege series material is available on the Toshiba site standby power!

    Hello

Of course you can do it.
You can change the settings of your central in Win 7 power management settings.

Go to the control panel-> power-> Plan on changes of settings Options

Now, change the setting to turn off the display.
I would have put a min

In such cases the fi would not touch to the laptop for a min the screen turns off
