P2715Q truly support 1.07 billion colors?

Hi guys.

I own this P2715Q only a few days. At first, I was so happy with the '' 1.07 billion colors '' as his description of tech specs when I just had. But now, I really doubt that this description after my investigation.

Here's the thing. I find on my PC under the AMD catalyst Control Center - My Digital Flat Panel - properties (Digital Flat Panel) - color depth shows me only two options "PCBs 6 ' and '8 PCBs' after I connect correctly this monitor to R9 290 by miniDP cable. Since tech spec mentions 1.07 billion colors-compatible P2715Q which is 10-bit color depth (I know that this P2715Q uses an 8-bit + FRC - A to get a 10-bit color depth.). So "10 PCBs" should be under the AMD CCC color depth setting.

Furthermore, I'm out by AMD EDID UTILITY EDID information. Based on the form of data EDID 1.4 version, the data about the location "14: 00" is the definition of video input. If the monitor really support 10-bit color depth, data under '2 pm' should be ' 1 0 1 1 "for a short 7th, 6th, 5th and 4th.". " However, my monitor EDID data under location '14 h' is 'A5', which is '1 0 1 0 0 1 0 1 ". It shows '1 0 1 0' for little 7th, 6th, 5th and 4th. This means that this support only display 8 bits per primary color based on the interpretation of "VESA ENHANCED EXTENDED DISPLAY IDENTIFICATION DATA STANDARD".

So I want to know if this is a single case or it is on all the instructors of p2715q. Can any user of P2715Q watch your CCC AMD setting if you use the AMD graphics card or simply pull the EDID information?

I have the same doubt. Then I googled here.

After reading almost every post and tried for hours of N... I found that he made.

My P2715Q 14 of EDID h is the same as yours, which is A5.

The solution turns out to be very simple: use a file to replace the monitor's EDID.

My card is a Quadro K620.

First I tried to use an inf. I failed. Maybe I do not have this right.

Then I got to the working solution...

1. the use

NVIDIA Control Panel/Workstation/view system topology/system/Quadro XXX / DELL P2715Q / EDID source/Export

to get out of the EDID

2 set up the b5 a5, then use

NVIDIA Control Panel/.../Quadro XXX/DisplayPort/EDID/charge

to load the modified EDID. May need to restart the operating system. Then it's done.

The file yumichan mentioned, 10bits test ramp.zip, can be used to test.

A big thank you to who M DELL-Chris and yumichan, thank you very much for your information.

  • Make a translation specific LR of monitor in the laboratory?

I am new to Lightroom and did not dare in PS again. I just upgraded from a Mac Book Pro, iMac. I have a calibrator screen Spyder Pro5 and I used it to calibrate my monitor. Thinking that I was ready, repaired a few photos of the beautiful landscape (shot on Nikon D810 in RAW) and exported and then uploaded to the Photo of the Bay. Impressions approached back on color by far on the density. After a few emails back and comes with the support of the Photo of the Bay, I had the note below. Clearly, I don't want to give up my iMac nine, so there the advice of others to help me?

    Bay Photo e-mail:

We do not recommend using Apple-brand monitors for calibration printing. They are designed to make the images on-screen pleasant to the eye: contrast, saturation high and bright. The result is the user in compensation because of these attributes - the images on the screen will appear always brighter and more vibrant color correction-no prints will be.

    Here are some recommended monitors:

    Recommendations:

EIZO ColorEdge series, starting at ~ $1000
    NEC - P, PA - or SpectraView series, starting at ~ $600
Series ASUS PA, from ~ $400
Dell UltraSharp PremierColor series, starting at ~ $500

In general, a good monitor, designed for a rendering of the colors accurate, must have the following characteristics:

    Resolution: 1920 x 1080px or better (16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio)
Contrast ratio: 1000: 1 or better
Color support: 1.07 billion colors or more
Viewing angle: 178 ° or better

The little Apple monitors is pure BS! Your problem is your laboratory whose color is not very successful (bet that they require to send you documents to sRGB; awful).

You want to match a print view, here is a video to walk if she. Yes, Eizo and SpectraView are a reference display system much better that what Apple offers, but you must all properly calibrate them for a match. • Color variation when you import a PDF file with transparency masks

Hi, I have a CC PDF Illustrator with multiple pages and multiple spot colors defined by the user and on some pages of an element containing the mask transparency.

The problem with color deviation between the pages with and without the object that contains the tx masks as they are imported into InDesign.

Looking at the page in InDesign with the described object, color chart, imported from Illustrator no longer correspond to any PDF file.

Without the mask tx, correspond to the Illustrator PDF color chart color placed in the shade in InDesign.

    What is going on?

Unlike Illustrator, InDesign can support RGB and CMYK colors in the same document. If InDesign won't change the colors of your Illustrator object placed as long as there is no transparency on the spread.

When transparency is applied to the spread, all objects have to 'mix' by using the same color space. I think that this is necessary if the transparency must be flattened as it should be for many printers. InDesign uses the color set under Edition space > space of merger of transparency to determine the color space. By default, it is a print CMYK document.

I used Mp4 h 264 to compress the video and it is on youtube.

I think that this compressor support only 8-bit color because there are bands in the sky.

Now, I have to make a version which is of very high quality that I can watch on my pc... I tried several codecs and it does not work.

The problem is so long that there something on top of the png sequence in premirere pro as an image or something, it's like

the displacement of the image in 8-bit color mode.

It's using Avi Lagarith lossless codec

Before there is a picture on top...

Just after that, the image appears... As you can the there are a few bands on this image.

I know it's subtle, but I want to know why this is happening.

Is there something I'm missing... I took much too long to try to fix this.

I ended up using the Quicktime animation codec for my video. The problem does not occur with this one, and I can't see any decline in the quality of the image.

Now, I have a file compressed at low cost for online viewing and a huge file that I can watch on my computer.

On a side note, can you guess how many hours it took for my computer make the png of this video sequence... 12 HOURS!

Should I get a new computer...

  • Lightning is not applied to colored items (u3d)

Take a look at the following teapot.pdf:

    http://DL.dropbox.com/u/4571/teapot.PDF

The walls around the teapot are lightned, but it seems that the teapot is not lightned at all. The colors of the teapot are created by diffuse color table, as described in ECMA U3D (9.6.1.1.3.5). So my question is simple. Is Adobe Acrobat that does not apply to the Flash on the objects colored by a range of color and if so, why?

PS: I ask whether it is the fault or the function of Adobe Acrobat or something else. I actually use converter IDTF created by:

    http://sourceforge.NET/projects/U3D/

so maybe I just create the IDTF in wrong way.

That the type of lighting is not supported. Because of the limitations of direct rendering on windows, 3D annotations support that point and colors of unique value.

    x / 300 = 100 / 72 > x = 416.666666 Pixels/inch > or just 416?

    Someone, please help me!

Adobe are largely correct that no matter how you set the screen resolution in Photoshop-except when you want to use the display 'size print'. Photoshop only cares about pixels and dots per inch review applies only when you print an image, but sometimes you don't want to see on the screen shows a picture with precision the size in inches or in centimeters and to do that you need to know the number of pixels per inch of your screen. Its not true 72 dpi is very outdated. If you are running 1920 x 1080 on a big flat screen figure will be around 80ppi (pixels/inch). It is only when the retina and other screens ultra high definition are used 72 dpi will start to look at the lowest.

There are formulas to calculate the density of the screen, but an easy way is a screen like this calculator

    http://kingscalculator.com/en/other-calculators/pixel-density-calculator

You just put to the screen size and resolution that you use and it displays a result

As you can see a pretty big screen with an ordinary resolution is not special as density of screens is concerned. Once you have this number you put in the screen resolution box in preferences

Now, when you want to see your image on the screen to size, it will print all you need to do is call the view "print size". The 81ppi parameter should not make a difference in another mode.

  • Why move to creative cloud?

I still don't understand why Adobe is forcing us to move to the creative Cloud?

All these "benefits" that Adobe has served us, is just a marketing gimmick.

Adobe said something like this: "all the most recent updates and features are immediately available for creative users Cloud" it's the new benefit? Front Creative Cloud updates did not yet exist? When Adobe release an update that I don't see why "from users of the box" also could not bring (updates) as users of creative Cloud? In both cases the user has to download the update (if he or she wants). Adobe also said something like this: "For updates of creative cloud members are available immediately" - it is discriminatory for the people who are for some reason any could not not want to buy creative cloud status, and who use 'from the box' Adobe. Why is less worthy than money who is subscribed to the creative cloud their money? When I buy a car inside and with the same engine, but in a different color that my neighbor's car, I expect to have the same car, but in different colors. Why this is not the case with Adobe? These statements are taken way to force people to register with creative cloud. I assume that CS7 (or posterior edition) will be available only for users of Cloud Creative and that Adobe will cease licensing "in the box" editions. Why Adobe won't give users the option to choose where to spend their money and what to buy and how to use it (online or offline)?

"Each Subscriber creative cloud have 20GB of storage available! Hey! How many HD images, we can store there? With external hard drives from 1 to 2 to anyone can buy for $ 100-150 Adobe offering 20 GB of storage as a better solution? What is the fastest solution: HDD service or cloud? "The files stored in the cloud are more secure than those HDD (s) of the user"? Someone at Adobe has heard for backup? I have a PC for about 20 years and do not have any single problem with HARD drive malfunction. So, Adobe, please tell us what is the REAL reason why you want us to store OUR files on YOUR servers? Anyone can share their files with who ever they want to use e-mail (for smaller files), and there are so many FREE web storage services, then why do we need pay for something that we already have for free Adobe? I use a free web storage to keep my files, then open them with Adobe software current, directly from network and HARD drive, and they will be automatically updated as soon as I save. Also I can access anywhere where I am and share them with whom I dream. So I really don't see why people are buying this marketing tip called creative cloud?

Only REAL reason to create something as creative cloud, as far as I can see it, is to stop piracy, and this is something that I truly support. But I would really like to see that such a large company stop using these discriminatory methods on their users!

I use Adobe Premiere since version 6 and After effects since the first edition so many years ago... All these years, never crossed my mind that Adobe could someday discriminatory to their users in a way!

Adobe, please offer us the opportunity to CHOOSE equal products - not the same but different products (at the same time)!

    Thank you!

I'm not here for a lesson in trade laws. Or I don't defend Adobe.  I'm saying that an American company like Adobe, Apple or Microsoft must respect the laws of the country in which they are headquartered.   It's the same for companies whose headquarters is in France, Germany, Singapore, Russia, Japan, etc...

I was not talking about major updates. I spoke to all the updates because Adobe said that all the updates will be immediately available to users of creative Cloud (only).

I think you're confused by the differences between a regular cycle update and an upgrade of the main product.   These are two different things.

Licensed users continue to receive all updates before just like regular cycle.  And as before, they can't buy a upgrade of main product until Adobe officially releases.  Nothing has changed in this regard.   Perpetual license always users get updates as they always have.

While it is true that Cloud users do not have to wait long for the major updates, it could be argued (and I do not disagree) that cloud members are used as "beta-testers".  Some of the improvements immediately released was botched and less received successfully.  I think it's a downside to this new policy and one that Adobe needs to address in the coming months.

I also asked why all the software Adobe is not available for users of"the box"? Why can't I buy Adobe Muse without membership creative cloud?

If 'from the box' you mean a perpetual license, I don't know the answer to that.  All I can say is Muse is a relatively new product.  Maybe Adobe has not determined how or where MU joined the family of Adobe products.  It is the same for high-tech products.  You will have to ask Adobe about it.

By the way, after May 1, "box" software will be no longer available.  Adobe Creative Suite products purchased on a perpetual license will be performed by download only.

Creative Cloud users do not have the same opportunities. Adobe forcing users to move to creative cloud giving them immediate updates, more software to buy etc.

It's called incentives, and it is fundamental to good marketing.  You have something new, you want people to buy if you give them good incentives to try.  I don't have a problem with that.

    ISP:

In general our instructors will offer the best combination of performance, features and price compared any competitor. However, in direct comparison with the units you list there are some very clear benefits for the LM-2461W.

1 BTLH-2550. This device is not 10 bit.its year10 bit treatment (just the fact that they can accept a 10-bit signal), but the Panel is 8 bits with a color depth of 16.7 million colors, not 10 bits in 1.073 billion colors. It is also fairly old Panel technology that has other drawbacks as shifts more colors off-axis than most modern monitors.

2 DT-V24G11Z. Like the Panasonic is not a 10-bit screen. Yet once, 10bits treatment does not mean that there is a 10-bit Panel.

3 Wöhler. Once again, an 8-bit, 10-bit monitor not just like the previous two.

4 XVM-175W. It is a good 10-bit monitor, but it's very expensive for a 17 "monitor. If you want a unit 10 bit 17 ' then our CM-170W might be a good review. However, the XVM-175W and LM-2461W are the same price in order to get a unit of 24 "for the same price as a unit 17". For use in a studio 17 "is going to be very small, so the 24" clearly has the advantage here. The XVM-245W is more similar to our LM-2461W (same size, performance, etc.), but it will cost more than twice as much as our monitor (vs $ $12,000 5 000)

    OK, what about the IKEGAMI:

We have won several shootings against this exact unit. Most customers agree that the LM-2461W has better display performance and there certainly many more features including things like 12 extended mode, measure of level of pixel and much more. Also, don't forget that the Ikegami does NOT come with the 3 Gbps SDI standard. It only comes with the HD - SDI. If you want to support the formats more advanced as 4:4:4 signals, 1080 p 50/60, etc, which is not possible on the Ikegami unless you buy 3G optional entry (costs about $1,200), which will make the unit around the same price as the LM-2461W.

I also know that visitors have never really received an answer as to if the device has a panel of 8 or 10 bits. If you look at their own record, it seems, the Panel is actually of 8-bit, 10-bit (http://www.ikegami.com/br/products/hdtv/pdf/hlm2450w.pdf). Unity also clearly lack of advanced support all formats such as LM-2461W (e.g., it does not support XYZ, 12 bit, DCI P3, etc..)

For basically the same price so equipped in the same way the LM-2461W offers the best performance, more features and a wide range of signal support. You can also get quick answers to technical applications.
