• P2V conversion for a remote source of Debian Linux

  Then, you should try to make your help-VM to pings. Starting conversion, change the setting of VM for assistance, check the virtual network card adapter/device is "connected". If it is already connected, disconnect and then reconnect the back and now try to ping your IP VM Wizard.

• P2V conversion but who want to leave the physical Box Live

  We have recently installed a VSphere 4 server in our environment for testing purposes. We wanted to go some of our test servers to a VM platform, then we can switch as required. One of the servers that I have is to be a pain with conversion due to a bad network card. What I want to do is take our 'live' server and run the conversion of a VM but change name of computer, IP info, etc but that let the direct physical server. I know that I need a time out for the live system at some point, but I just want to be sure I'm not missing something or VM adds any information that may cause it to fail. Ideas, thoughts or suggestions?

  For Windows 2003 itself, it's name change, but given the need for a back-end system app would make it harder, IMO.

  Unless you P2V'ed that too, ofc...

  I do nothing on ubiquitous, but the idea of an app duplicated in a BONE duplicated hit a back-end server, would be a no-no for me...

  OK so I have a satellite phone and since yesterday, whenever I turn on my laptop, I get this message: -.

  DLL user32.dll system was moved in memory. The application will not work correctly. The move took place because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\HHCTRL. OCX occupied an address box reserved for Windows system DLLS. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL

  So, I sat like 1 million bulletin boards etc. and not got anywhere. I'm normally ok with computers, but this time I confess that I have not the slightest idea what to do. It of really bugging me, can anyone help? Some message boards have taken me to a link on the Microsoft Web site to download something, but it says you must have windows XP service pack 2 and honestly, I have no idea and do not want to download something to totally screw up my laptop! (ok, maybe I'm not very good with computers!) Also, I found a site telling me something to do but I had no idea where to go or anything! I need someone to tell me EXACTLY what to do to get rid of this really annoying message. Also some sites say that when you press 'OK' another message appears, mine isn't it just goes!

• Lack of camera raw dialog box in Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows.

  I have Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows. It runs on a Windows 32 - bit Windows Vista VirtualBox virtual machine.

  It worked fine, but suddenly opening of raw images from Nikon is no longer opens the Camera Raw dialog box, but takes me directly into the editing on Photoshop Elements.

  I really like having the area of the Camera Raw dialog box to open as I do most of my treatment using this before opening the file that results in the elements of the image.

  Does anyone know how to get this back box, or open in the elements?

  Check your settings screen for vista resolution.

  I believe that the resolution of the screen should be at least 1024 x 768 for the dialog box camera raw show in pse 8.

  For example, if, instead of run VirtualBox full screen, your running in windowed mode or transparent and done the small window by dragging on the corner, which would automatically reduce the resolution of the screen in vista.

  I have a Pavilion 523n (product D7217T) office that I bought in 2002.  It has an AMD Athlon XP 1.67 G CPU, 2 GB of memory and running Windows XP SP3.  Given that XP support ends soon, I would like to install Windows 7.  Will it work on my computer and when I get the drivers for it or will the existing drivers works with Win 7?

  Because HP does not support your PC for windows vista to windows 7, it is not all the drivers available.

  You will need to search the cyberspace for them (if they even exist in the first place).

  That's why I recommed starting with the presence of the wizard upgrade assess your PC.

  This is because a new network interface is found after the P2V conversion. The new interface is the VMware network adapter.

  It seems that in your case that the old network interface is always on the virtual machine. So, you will need to remove it.

  You must perform the following steps, which, incidentally, are considered best practices for any task of P2V as step post P2V

  1. Click Start, right-click my computer and select Properties.

  2. In the System Properties dialog box, select the Advanced tab and click the Environment Variables button.

  3. In the Environment Variables dialog box, locate the System Variables Panel, and click New.

  4. In the new System Variable dialog box, type
     Devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices in the Variable name text box, and then type 1
     in the Variable value text box.

  5. Click OK two times.

  6. To view devices that are not present, go to start, make a right click my computer and select manage.

  7. Click on Device Manager, pull down the view menu and select Show hidden devices

  Now that these steps have been completed, remove the old virtual machine network adapter and restart the virtual machine. You should not be able to configure the network adapter to the virtual machine with the IP address.

  The conversion work was finished with the status "completely."

  However, after that, when I try to power on the target of the Win XP on ESXi machine, the machine displays the blue screen and does not start.

  I chose the installation of vmware tools option in the conversion with VMware Converer autonomous steps.

  Hi all

  I am new to this forum and a little new for VSphere 4.

  My company offers off-site data protection and storage services, and has recently begun branching out in recovery of virtual network. In a Word, virtualize us network services essential to the customer on our ESX 4.0 host servers and make them available for access secure site-level disaster. Until recently we have used a re-usable restore starting from active state backups online system on servers as our means of conversion model VM P2V. It worked pretty well with one notable exception - a Windows SBS 2003 server.

  As a work around the BMR virtual conversion, we would like to perform a 'traditional' system P2V conversion. The challenge? The source system is physically located miles on the customer's network.

  So far, we have installed the VMWare Converter Stand alone on the source system (stand alone seems to be something wrong to get the VMWare Infrastructure compatible conversion, you must communicate with the destination ESX Server) and open the necessary ports on our firewall to allow communications with our ESX Server. Everything seems to work properly; However, the destination for the new VMDK cannot be the ESX Server. Since we need all volumes on that server to be cloned, the resulting 200 GB of a value of data transferred over the network will make this process impractical.

  How can convert us this system to a virtual machine that is:

  1. written on a removable unit attached locally for transportation later and later import to our host server VSphere ESX 4.

  2. compatible with VSphere ESX 4.0.1

  Hope for an answer or a 'trick '.

• iCloud for Windows: authentication failure

  I have re-installed iCloud (repaired) for Windows. I get my ID and password, and I get an alert "authentication error".   Looks like you're having trouble with the iCloud Support Tool on your PC. I know how important it is to have the synchronization of data between all the devices - I will certainly do my best to help.

  The first thing I would recommend is the following the steps described in this article: iCloud: account troubleshooting while everything in this article resolve your particular issue, there are steps that you can use.

  The next step would be check to see if you have a firewall activated through your Windows software or through any anti-virus/anti-malware software you have installed. Sometimes firewalls may prevent your computer to communicate with our servers iCloud. To temporarily disable your Windows Firewall if it is enabled, follow the steps described in the following link:

  Enable or disable Windows Firewall

  Once you have the firewall turned off, try to connect again in the iCloud support tool. If you receive the same error, temporarily disable any anti-virus/anti-malware software that you have installed on your PC too. You can usually find steps on how to do this by visiting the software manufacturers web site. Test tool support once more to see if you get the same error to iCloud.

  If the same error, with the firewall still disabled, then I recommend the following steps:

  1 completely remove the decision-making tool in charge of iCloud, and then restart your PC.

  2. download iCloud for Windows and then restart your PC again.
