P500 bios by default HELPP

Hello

Long story short, I had a perfectly functioning system P500 in legacy mode and I accidentally changed the UEFI boot mode.

The system does not post now - I guess it's because of my graphics card no uefi (amd r9 290)

Is there a way to reset the BIOS

I looked in the manual of the equipment to set clear cmos, but the location on the motherboard there are actually 2 riders side by side (jp2 and jp4).

I tried to do the reset cmos (Ministry of pin 1 & 2 to 2 & 3) on jp4 (do this on jp2 led to no longer be able to light up at all).

In expensive cmos reset does not seem to have worked. I get 2 short beeps which repeat and a white screen.

Any ideas would be very appreciated

  • Satellite P500 - BIOS disappeared

    Hello

hope that you will contribute to a desperate situation.
I had a satellite p500 dual boot win 7 64 and 32, although the 64 installation has become corrupted so I had to re - install.
Everything was going well until I installed a few Toshiba updates, including 2.9 bios to winphlash.

    Now:
Instead of appearing the BIOS, there is the following text:
"CPU = 1 processor detected, cores per processor = 4
    Intel (R) Core (TM) i7 Q720 CPU @ 1.6 mhz
    Fixed disk 0: Toshiba [letters]
    System Configuration data update"

So the choice of start-up appear (win 7 32 or 64).
However, when you try to start the 64 it says there is an error which must be attached with the original windows disc.

The main problem is that it is not possible to get into the BIOS to F2/8/10/12, escape, Ins.
In addition, it is not possible to start using the disk drive.

    However, WIn 32 works perfectly.

I tried to use winphlash to reflash the bios (using current versions of 2.9 and 2.8), but it says "can not Flash the bios. Error-144 "which, after googling seems to be an error that appears if attempting to Flash the bios on the power of the battery - if I use the grid.

It seems that others have also had problems after the upgrade of their bios.
Any help would be appreciated. I tried to fix this for about 9 hours now, and I'm living overseas, it is difficult to find a Toshiba service station.

    Thank you!

    Bart

    Hi mate

Try pressing F12 at the beginning of the startup procedure.

This will help you display the start on-screen menu.
There you can switch between different sources such as drive HARD, CD/DVD, USB, LAN, etc.

Here, you choose the ODD (CD/DVD drive) as a source of startup if you want to boot from the recovery disc.

    Good luck

    Hello Phil

Now, I found this interesting thread on your problem. What is find a solution?
If nothing helps remove SSDS, set the BIOS settings by default (if you enter it again) and put the old HARD drive.

General SSDs should be recognized correctly and there is not a big problem with these updates.

    Hey Buddy,

Before contacting an authorized service provider you should check this:

    -Update display driver
-Set the BIOS to default settings
    -Updated BIOS
-Reinstall Windows from Toshiba Recovery disk

If nothing works, you can contact an ASP and ask for help. Guys can check your laptop and tell you how much it will cost to fix this problem.

  • NB305-442BL - problem with BIOS

    Hello friends

What happens is that while the mother this screenshot blue machine and since that has begun since I did a BIOS update, it comes to update the BIOS for NB305 netbooks, but it seems I'm wrong on the model already I noticed that the machine was a 442BL, may be able to correct for the machine for me BIOS no problem , or there will be a form any of the decommissioning of the BIOS of the machine to which I had before giving problems, greetings

    Post edited by: Fercheins

    Hello

First the NB305-442BL is not known to me, I googled for this model number and cannot find a template containing this serial number. What NB305-xxx you have exactly?

Secondly, I think that the BIOS is not the problem here. Generally it should be impossible to upgrade the BIOS if you want to use the version of the BIOS is not compatible.
Usually, you should get a message saying that the BIOS is not compatible during the updating procedure and the update procedure should be cancel automatically.

In your case, I recommend the BIOS to default settings. Access the BIOS by pressing F2 for the BIOS settings. Here, press F9 for default settings, and then save changes F10 before you exit the BIOS.

In addition, the BSOD can be caused by software problems. Perhaps the system is confused to have you tried a fresh install of OS to make sure that the BSOD isn t caused by the failure of the system? Would be worth a check.

If it does not, you will need to either have the BIOS chip replaced by HP or a BIOS repair company. That's where she is now.

  • Recovery HP 2000 - 2b89WM w / HP discs, update BIOS using XP 32 bit

    HP 2000-2b89WM, product c2m42ua #aba, apparently Win8, 64-bit.

I'm trying to help a friend with a dead laptop. Hard drive has been damaged and the machine does not start. Got a new hard drive and the discs of HP recovery, but the recovery discs just to say that the recovery has failed, and is log file refers to two other log files that do not exist. So.

I'm trying to Flash the BIOS with the latest version - maybe that will help you. Problem is the only computer I have available to create a disc USB with BIOS on this subject is a 32-bit XP (Dell) machine. The BIOS utility decompresses the files, but after saying he can do (updated this device, create USB recovery, copy the BIOS image), it blocks the XP machine.

    1. How can I get the BIOS image (apparently a .bin file is of sync, not in the utility decompressed files) on the USB so I can update the BIOS? (I can get to diagnostic mode, but it does not have the BIOS file on the USB key).

    2. any other recommendations to get the recovery disks to start? (Tried to set clock to 2012, reset the BIOS by default. Recovery discs are blank - no scratches, no dust.)

The "supplement" thought of it - drive was causing the problem. I used the 3 DVD system and when he asked for the extra disc, I said to Skip - and everything was fine.

No idea what was on this disc of supplement. The label says the drivers and applications, but the actual content was a bunch of folders with absurd names. No request.

  • Qosmio F60 - new SSD now will not appear in the BIOS or at the Win7 Installation

I recently bought a new OCZ Vertex 4 128 GB Solid State Drive to upgrade my PC laptop Toshiba Qosmio F60 with.

After that I installed it first of all, it has been detected immediately in both the bios and during the installation of Windows 7. However, for some reason any approximately 40% of the way through installation, the computer restarts and the drive has disappeared since the BIOS all together and now, after several reboots it does not always detect!

Note that I already have the latest version of the BIOS installed on my laptop V2.70

I'm not sure what I would do here and any help would be appreciated?

Can you please set BIOS to default settings and check if the SSD is recognized in the BIOS again?

In my opinion it is not relevant at all.

  • Qosmio F50 - 10Z - after update BIOS lit buttons do not work

TEMPRO alerted me on an update of the BIOS - bios - 20090415092322.zip - for 32-bit Vista, published April 15, 2009 for my F50 - 10Z.

Since then, the enlightened "buttons" at the top of my keyboard no longer work - including, annoyingly, the key to turn the light off.

Is that what I can do at this point? I tried a system restore but it did not affect the BIOS.

I agree with Akuma. Now, you can try to set the BIOS to default settings and also reinstall the package of added value.
This package also contains command buttons utility.

Perhaps after having reinstalled it everything will work properly again.

  • Toshiba Dynabook - BIOS password Factory

Hi guys, I am a computer in London guy tries to solve a mystery.

Last week a Japanes Lady left a phone with a simple problem:
Whenever he was arrested, he starts running again.
It doesn't matter how you launched shutdown (menu button or stat).
So the first thing I did was use a live cd (slax) to the stop.
I had the same problem. The computer comes from the reboot.
This excluded from virus and so I updated the bios.

Incredibly, the problem persisted so I took the final step to reset CMOS/BIOS by shorting the cmos battery.

Now the problem is solved, the air conditioner stops, BUT now I was presented with a password when there was not before!
The computer is locked with a password bios factory.
I asked the owner, but she never put the password.
She called the Japan technical support, but they say that there should be no!

Any idea where I can find it out? or what else to try? I am presented with a password screen as soon as the infographic is running.

Toshiba Dynabook cx/875ls bios version 1.80

    > Incredibly the problem persisted so I took the final step to reset the CMOS/BIOS by shorting the cmos battery.

I think it was a big mistake. Rather than remove a CMOS battery, you must set the BIOS to default settings (in BIOS itself!)

I put t think that there is a factory BIOS password I presume that this password now appears due to the fact that you removed the CMOS battery. Why? Who knows

Always is that the BIOS password can be removed only by an ASP and eventually the Japanese lady will have to take it back to the Japanese ASP.

    Hello

The forum already contains these discussions where notebooks will freeze after 5 or 10 minutes of play. Have you read them?

Now it s not easy to say what causes this problem but first of all you need to install the latest driver of Toshiba display. Don t use non-Toshiba drivers, as they can cause the overheating!

Also make sure that you use the latest version of the BIOS and it s useful to clean the laptop time using a jet of compressed air.
