Toshiba Dynabook - BIOS password Factory

Hi guys, I am a computer in London guy tries to solve a mystery.

Last week a Japanes Lady left a phone with a simple problem:
Whenever he was arrested, he starts running again.
It doesn't matter how you launched shutdown (menu button or stat).
So the first thing I did was use a live cd (slax) to the stop.
I had the same problem. The computer comes from the reboot.
This excluded from virus and so I updated the bios.

Incredibly, the problem persisted so I took the final step to reset CMOS/BIOS by shorting the cmos battery.

Now the problem is solved, the air conditioner stops, BUT now I was presented with a password when there was not before!
The computer is locked with a password bios factory.
I asked the owner, but she never put the password.
She called the Japan technical support, but they say that there should be no!

Any idea where I can find it out? or what else to try? I am presented with a password screen as soon as the infographic is running.

Toshiba Dynabook cx/875ls bios version 1.80

> Incredibly the problem persisted so I took the final step to reset the CMOS/BIOS by shorting the cmos battery.

I think it was a big mistake. Rather than remove a CMOS battery, you must set the BIOS to default settings (in BIOS itself!)

I put t think that there is a factory BIOS password I presume that this password now appears due to the fact that you removed the CMOS battery. Why? Who knows

Always is that the BIOS password can be removed only by an ASP and eventually the Japanese lady will have to take it back to the Japanese ASP.

    Hi all.

I was given a laptop by a parent and I would use it but for the moment can not.

To be honest, the reason that this has been given to me was that there is a password that they have forgotten and even mentioned that the laptop is mine, but I have to have the password removed the bios boot somehow.

I've seen many mentions of the B500 rider in Google but I can not find these on this laptop. No, unless they are hidden pretty well.

There are at least under the removable cover only, memory, CMOS battery and HARD drive.

I had the battery, HDD, RAM and portable removed and left alone for a week. This resulted in nothing.

Is - this laptop has a clear CMOS jumper at all? Anyone know what is her name?

    Laptop model is by Satellite L850D - 12 p.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Albert

Please don't get me wrong, but we cannot start such things on the public forum of Toshiba.
BIOS password is very important security feature. As far as I know Toshiba uses several techniques for BIOS password removal. One that is used on your computer does not for me so I can't help you with this.

Point is that many users protect machines clean and backed up data with this password. When we are discussing here on this subject and maybe offer detailed how do to remove the BIOS password each laptop stolen could be unlocked.

BIOS password removal just contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • Toshiba NB - I don't know the BIOS password more

    Hi all

I accidentally put a password when you pass on my laptop and I don't remember what it was. I've searched the Internet to see if I can removed it but there is nothing.

If I can see the security on the BIOS screen, I'll be able to remember what the password is like its something on this screen secruty.
    Can anyone help at all?

    Hi mate,

That s not good news if you forgot the password...

But on the Toshiba site I founded this section of the FAQ on this subject:

    Thank you.

Computers notebooks are portable computers that can be easily stolen and protection of BIOS is the functionality of security very important which must offer the maximum on the security of the data (to block the OS startup).

All laptops Toshiba don t have the same mechanism for BIOS password removal. Some of them are very complicated and even service cannot be removed without contacting Toshiba directly. So all of these methods, you can find on the net, especially with the battery CMOS removal will not work. It would be too easy for thieves to remove the BIOS password and have full access to the operating system.

You can check all these documents posted by rotemanq and Googling all about you can find hundreds of similar documents, but they won't help you much.

Best option for you is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and they can do for you. It costs a little but they will remove it for you.

  • Satellite L40-A993 - what is the Toshiba BIOS password?

Yesterday, I left my laptop in mode 'sleep' after work. When I started today morning, he prayed for the password. I never set a password for BIOS and never changed no settings. Currently, its not booting.

Just after ignition, screen opens with "Enter password".
I tried to check online, but I got no idea. Can anyone suggest how to fix it?

    Hello Abreu

AFAIK the system settings like BIOS password cannot be addressed only and configuration of the password must be entered twice (password confirmation).
    Has anyone access your machine?

I'm afraid that someone put the password on your computer without your knowledge.

  • Portege R700 protected by unknown BIOS password

Can anyone help with this problem.

On our site, we have about 300 of these laptops, and they're all protected bios.
Recently had a problem where when to enter the password of the bios and it says its bad even if it's the standard password that we use on our laptops. The user has also confirmed that they do not have a password...

Is it possible for the bios somehow become currupted (the machine was undergoing before blue screens) or how can I factory reset the bios password.

Before that everyone says Yes, we own the machince and can prove it!

Maybe it sounds silly, but I think you should clarify this with the nearest Toshiba service provider.
I use Toshiba laptops for years, and I know with certainty that Toshiba doesn't sell laptops equipped with any type of password or that kind of protection.

If you have such amount of notebooks, maybe there is some special dial on the configuration or protection. In any case, deletion of BIOS password cannot be theme on this public forum. The BIOS password protection is very important security feature and if there is a problem, it needs to be clarified with the Toshiba authorized service provider.

BIOS password cannot be set or changed only, and as far as I know, there is no kind of factory reset. All I know is that the BIOS can be set to the default settings. All that s.
Contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and clarify this issue.

  • Request for BIOS password after trying to wipe the hard drive?

Hi - I got a new computer and tried to erase the hard drive on my old Toshiba laptop for sale on. It is a Toshiba A-210 and is about three years old.

I put the "settings factory restore disk" and tried to follow the instructions on the CD cover. However, the instructions don't match the options given, I did something where I thought I was wiping the HARD drive. It seemed to go ok, but when I tried to start it again, it loads a black screen type "MS-DOS" asking for a password.

The password only I put up on the computer was for my user profile, and it's not accept that. If I try to go on without the password, the computer turns off.

I tried Googling and it could be a BIOS password, I think, but I've never been one of these. The only suggestions I could find for fixing involved by pressing one of the buttons "F" and move to Windows, but I can't get an answer using the 'F' keys On the Toshiba site it said that I needed to have it fixed by one of their authorized places, but I don't want to spend money on it, because I was trying only to erase the hard drive before trying to sell it on or scrapping it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? My hard drive was erased? There is nothing really confidential there, but I like it as clear as possible, I really don't mind if its working, I would consider it breaks to pieces.

    Hello Katy

After reading your thread I don't understand what you've done to lock your computer.
Still is it BIOS password cannot be set by mistake.

When the BIOS password to settle should be written twice before, it will be activated.

What to do now? Is that the BIOS password can be deleted by a combination of keys or something simple. BIOS password is the most important safety feature and must offer the maximum protection of the BIOS.
You can sell your laptop without HARD drive too. On eBay, I saw many laptops that will be offered without HARD drive for data protection reasons. HARD drive can be exchanged for less money and it is not so important hardware component.

In the history I see a problem only: BIOS password. You can offer a little cheaper laptop and the new owner can pay for password removal.

It is not easy to give you the right answer. I just want to be a little more realistic.

  • Default BIOS password

    Hello everyone,

I had real trouble moving my Touchsmart 600 - 1030fr to Windows 8. Due to incompatibility of graphics driver, I see nothing on my computer after the startup screen (the one with the blue window).

I discovered that a change in the BIOS can solve this problem, but my BIOS asks me a password. I tried to reset this password in removal and replacement of the battery from the motherboard. Although he told me that the BIOS has been reversed to the factory settings, the password is always there.

Is anyone of you know what is the password to the factory settings?

Also, I read on the forum but

Before you try to update the BIOS, all passwords must be removed!
BIOS password can be removed by the authorized service provider available in your country.

But the unknown HARD disk password can be removed more.
In such a case the HDD isn't accessible and cannot be used.

Mate sorry but in my opinion that you only have one chance to get the BIOS password removed. you need the help of ASP.
