P6 - 2155a: HP Pavilion P6 2155a Asus GTX 750 Ti Windows 7 home 64-bit

Hello

I was wondering if someone might be able to help please... My nephew has a P6 HP 2155 (H1N09AA #ABG) has with Windows 7 64 bit.  I bought her a card video Asus GTX 750 Ti (this card requires no additional power from the power supply).  When I install the machine stays on the initial startup of HP screen and progresses then (after some time) to a black screen with the cursor blinking in the upper left side.  There is no bios beeps to indicate that the card is faulty or does not work in the machine.

I read that some people have had some successes, but I can't solve this problem.  I read that a bios upgrade may be required, but visit the HP support page there is no bios section under drivers/software suggesting that there has been no update published by hp.

I saw that there is an update of the bios for Windows 8 OS.  I saw also there are a few updates BIOS Driverguru but I'm a little nervous trying the ROM with the HP not downloaded flash software.  Perhaps these Driverguru bios updates are motherboard Μatx-H61-Joshua but not the variant of HP.

So I wonder, someone at - it pointers or suggestions?  I know the video card works as I have tried in my HP 8300 Series machine and it works without any fault.

I really appreciate if anyone has suggestions and thank you for reading about my problem.

Update... Update (2ADA ROMA family) 8.17 Rev A installed HP consumer Desktop PC BIOS BIOS for Windows 8 and everything works now!

Fully tested and no problem at all.

If someone reads this always proceed with caution - if it works for me that it might not work for you.

  • Pavilion dv6 3182ea: restoration Notebook back to Windows 7 Home

Hello Forum I've recently updated my original book of Win7Home to Win10 home after some initial problems related to that upgrade was in place. However when the update of November has been downloaded and installed a failure happened the 2nd boot (75%)  After trying several times I finally succeeded in using the MS download tool on USB and a clean install, wipe the HARD drive. However, I'd rather go back to Win7 Home, which I was very satisfied!  When I tried to use my system recovery disks would not start on the 1st disk (messgae can't find MBR) even if the normal startup works very well.

Any help would be appreciated (is it possible to go back to Win 7?)   Thank you JEFF.

    Hello JeffreyWH ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your message want to restore to Win7 and wanted to help.

Most likely, any DVD of Win7 you acquire will be a commercial version, and if you do a reinstall using them, you will then encounter a serious problem - Activation!  Why? Because your PC came with an OEM from HP to Win7 version, and the product key printed on COA sticker will not work with THIS version of Win7.  If you substitute a commercial version, it will take a product key retail - which you won't unless you go out and buy a.

What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media.  It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Ordinarily, I advise to use HP recovery media to restore your PC to its original state. That would erase the entire disk, format the drive and install the operating system, drivers and utilities HP.

Unfortunately, there is no support of HP recovery related to HP for your PC Product Page. This could be an oversight by HP, or it could also mean that HP stock is no longer the recovery media for your PC. They store any long recovery media for older PCs.

You can try to contact the HP customer directly, using the links below, to see if you can order them if:

  • Model - Hp pavilion g6-2149TX, product no-C5H82PA #UFF, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

I try to install the driver Intel graphics high definition (HD) , but it displays an error message. Please help me. Here is the error message...

    You are the very welcome.

If you can, or that you're ready, I recommend that you back up the files you don't want to lose and do a factory of reset or reinstall the operating system.

The factory reset will restore the operating system and software sound out of the box state.

If you need to clean install the operating system then when it comes to installing the drivers, install you these drivers in this order and you reboot after each installation.

    1. Intel chipset installation utility

    2. AMD graphics driver

    3 IDT audio driver

    4 Realtek ethernet driver (LAN).

Then you can install any drivers you need in any order you want.

  • H9-1150 Pavilion: H9-1150 PC does not start with WIndows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with ASUS 960 GTX card.

I've seen others have posted simular questions, but I thought id repost this even in the case where there is more help.  I have the Elite Phönix Pavalion h9-1150 desktop with Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.  and the bios HP 7.07 (seems no possible to upgrade the bios).

As others have had I install the new graphics card, the 960 Asus GTX card that came out last month and the system start gives about 3 beeps in about 30 seconds and then it goes to a screen that is black with a blinking cursor and nothing else happens. cannot enter bios or settings for HP...

I tried to disable UEFI boot devices in bios settings and enable only the legacy devices (after him swinging back on my original card, then move on to the new card), but it still gives 3 beeps after the start.   However, I was able to get into windows. Although I think that this may be due to turn off the computer with the old card in without power first. and after 3 beeps (which always blocks you on the bios menu) sometimes it appears the window where you can select the safe mode or normal mode... as sometimes happens if you start your computer with windows 7 If you had just it off without turning off power or something.  There, I can get into windows and run the PC and graphics card without problem, it's just when I try to start the problem happens.

and suppor HP no. is NOT a fault of the card itself. As much before. I bought an EVGA card earlier a GTX 780 and SAME problem happened (although I have not tried to remove it then devices boot UEFI)...

There is a problem of spacific with HP computers that seem to lock 'new' start-up equipment.

Honestly not be blunted. I really think it's bad what I read somewhere that even if HP would never say it they do it on purpose to prevent people ruin of guarantee or any "liabity' that occur by people any other hardware on HP computers inventory installation

makes no since to me.  the PC SHOULD be able to run the card. in fact his race he now once I was able to circumvent the blocking (temporarily) check markers, everyhting is fine tracks of card 3 times faster then old (that should be the case).

But it's just this block as HP for some reason any installed on their bios/cards mothers is the question.

Good news is I got it from amazon and I have about a month, until I return. which I think this time I'll make.  to see if something pops up in a month or something.

It's the ONLY solution, it seems that HP has officially to deactivate start secure Windows 8

but this isn't a computer of windows 8. and I guess even if install windows 8. the issue wouldn't disappear because given that its an older bios, there is no way to have a secure boot option to delete?

HP you really need to get on the ball and give us a straight answer on this subject.  Is it ALL WAY to solve this problem? Can you not just do an older BIOS update to allow this? Or do you simply not want to worry about old PCs?

anyway I think that it is wrong and very frustrating and to be honest. If this is the case when my pc otherwise MUST run on demand

    It's a PCI express 16 x slot card that is 3.0

Here are the specifications of deetailed according to the guidelines of your page

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=c03273835

the card SHOULD WORK fine.  I thought the GTX 780 was a little too much for the PC as he had more then a six pin port and needed a little more power, so at first I thought it was the question. so I returned it. and has now got this new card.

However, the ASUS GTX 960 map requires the SAME power that the card GTX 550 it by default and the SAME SIX connector

    so it SHOULD work.

and performance tests indicate that it FACT it's just stupid... bios that asks the question.

I'm afraid to turn off the computer at the moment and try again to see if windows starts normally after you turn off the startup UEPI devvices because he cannot start properly...

HP you are one of the largest suppliers of computers you know technology what are YOUR computers.  WHY cant you give us a direct awnser on this.

    ITS VERY frustrating

and to be honest if I can't solve this problem, I am very hestient never buy another product HP if their spacifically computers have this new method of hardware locking.

because I have the card now works on my pc, it runs great! 3 times as fast as it should! and yet, I know in the back of my mind, if I can't understand this bad likely issue just to send it back... less I have time.

and for now, I did not have money to buy a new pc. This PC is JUST perfect for what I need for now another card then you want a little better...

He shoudnt be as much hassle there?

    Thank you.

    Hello

You need update the BIOS that is listed under Windows 8 to support the new graphics.   You must upgrade to Windows 8 or temporarily install Windows 8, you can install the update to the BIOS.  While there may be other ways to install the BIOS update, clearly having Windows 8 running will be the safest way.  8 BIOS version is your best chance to get the latest graphics cards to work.

You can Windows 8 Enterprise 90 days trial.

If you decide to install W8, then create external recovery HP Media and backup your data before doing anything.

The reality is that there is no guarantee that any particular graphics card will work in any particular PC, even if the graphics card works in other PC or even the same or similar model PCs. Know what the return policy is before you buy.

Exactly the same problem that I have that my HP desktop computer is a more recent one year, so the question is if I do the same thing that sugested him will be resolved? If this isn't the case, could you please solve the problem for me. Because I believe that there is no problem with my PC hardware and it should work fine.

    Best regards and thank you

    -Ken

    Hi Ken,

Watch high aon back of the graphics card for a switch.  See the image below.

You should have received a leaflet in the box describing the use of the switch (legacy mode or UEFI).  If your PC is a version 8 HP BIOS then disable secure boot if set. If your PC isn't at the level of the BIOS version 8 and then the switch must be in position inherited.  The brochure should describe the use of the switch.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-140f: can I upgrade my NIVIDIA GeForce GT 230 NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 (or 750Ti)?

I would like to upgrade my video/graphic on my HP Pavilion AY602AA-ABA HPE-140f.   The vehicle currently has the NIVIDIA GeForce GT 230 and I would go with 750Ti NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 or GTX.   Would one of these work with my system?

I have not yet opened the file, but the system is supossedly a mother MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E) with Intel Core i5 650, 8 GB of RAM (I've read the product specifications that some say dual and some say quad... not sure exactly how this works).   I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.   It is 350 Watts.   The hard drive was a 1 to SATA but is shot and must be replaced [it is a different matter].

I plan on adding a blue-ray disc player and use it for some games.   A recommendation for me was the NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 750.   I checked online and am confused with all the different versions and prices from this point.   Any help with specifications or which?    I need (or should) spend anything else?

    Thank you

    Persistent organic pollutants

    Hey Pops,

I suggest that you go back to the person who recommended the NVIDIA GTX 750 and ask for evidence that it works before buying this graphics card.  The NVIDIA GTX 750 even if there a hybrid BIOS will work in some older PCs, but not others.

Games?  Buy the NVIDIA GTX 660 and compare them with the CX600 Corsair or CS650m.

  • GTX 750 Ti and HP Pavilion p6 - 2108p? Are they compatible

    Thank you...

    Abestbeats, welcome to the forum.

People have problems with the 'GTX 750 Ti' model is because it requires UEFI firmware of the motherboard.  HP didn't start to fully use UEFI firmware until mid-October 2012.  Your computer was introduced in December 2011.

According to the maunufacturer of video card, they may have an update VBIOS to make your card works with your computer.  I know that the EVGA, for example, updates of specific cards.  You will need to contact their Technical Support for assistance.  In addition, you may need to upgrade the power supply unit (PSU) in the computer, if you haven't done so already.  It is 300W.

I was wondering if my computer of 500-319na HP Pavilion could launch a NVIDIA GTX 750 Ti graphics card. It's because I'm not sure if my computer has the right amount of space to be able to fit inside or whether it would be able to manage the energy needs of 300W. My current graphics card is a NVIDIA GT 705.

    You are welcome.

No, if the PSU is not powerful enough to run the card it does not work.  There will be no damage to the card or the power supply.

  • Reboot Loop/No Boot - Alienware 17R3 - amplifier with Asus GTX 1080 Turbo graphics

I have a new graphics card this week, a Turbo of Asus GTX 1080, but I have questions about the use with the amplifier of graphics.

My laptop is a 17R3 of Alienware.

The Board fits perfectly, there is only a single power connector and it is fastened to the GPU.

When I connect the graphic amplifier and power the laptop it keep turning on/off as an infinite reboot cycle.

Maybe this specific version of 1080 GTX (Asus GTX 1080 Turbo) is not compatible with the graphics amplifier?

My previous video, a 980Ti ACX 2.0 EVGA card works just fine and if I plug this GPU to another computer also works.

I do not think that associates the PSU of GA, but who knows?

Everyone knows who? Has anyone tried this GPU with GA?

    Hi Chris!

Well, I traded Turbo 1080 GTX from Asus to a 1080 GTX from MSI, and now everything works perfectly!

So, I can confirm that the MSI GeForce 1080 Aero 8 G works perfectly with the AGM!

    Thanks for all your support.
