Palm TX computer 128 MB of handheld PDA

does anyone know how to get windows 7 to recognize my palm tx, so it can charge via USB.  I don't mind synchronization via bluetooth.  access Inc. in China is no help. all ties go to the palm site which is not useful either.

Thank you

Aceeca pilot worked for my Palm Tx.  Download, extract, and install.  You must also have the Palm Desktop software installed on your Windows 7 computer.  You can get that on the HP site.  Good luck, it worked for me.

No software extra but you can sync via Bluetooth: http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/32859_en.html

If you use a desktop computer and don't have built in Bluetooth, you can buy a small dongle that can fit into a USB port: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=bluetooth+dongle they are at least not nearly as expensive as a new PDA!

When I try to Hot Synch, an error message appears telling me that my USB deivce is not recognized. Device shows that the Device Manager is hanging with the USB port, but only as an unknown device. • Installed IE 8 on my vista laptop at home and now my Palm desktop computer will not open.

The office that came with my palm Centro has worked well for a year. I installed IE8, now when I try to open the Palm desktop, that it does not open. I can hotsync via the USB port. Windwoes said there is a problem and it cannot open, but will want to know if there is a solution. Windwoes is not to find a. I tried to go back to a previous restore point, still nothing. I don't have bluetooth on my computer so new desktop 6.2 is not an option. Help please

Hello geocostello and thank you for posting on the forums...

You can reinstall the office 4.2 that accompanies your centro via the CD.  (if you have one yet...)  If not, you can go the palm.com and do a search for Desktop Manager 4.2 and download it, then install it.  This should not affect your data.  Before doing so, try to go into Add/Remove programs and uninstall from there Office Manager.  Then re-install the software.  Yet once, it should not affect your data.

If the software does not uninstall from Add/Remove Programs, you can go to microsoft and download the Microsoft uninstall utility.  This should remove the software and registry entries and allow you to re - install the Desktop manager 4.2

    Let us know what happens...

    Thank you

    Cola

  • Unable to synchronize Palm TX handheld computer in Windows 7 operating system.

    original title: palm

I can't synchronize my T / X since getting windows 7 hot palm pocket computer.  I have done everything I know how to do, including using your option in the menu of program compatibility. ????  I won't be able to hot sync.  I wish I had never gone to windows 7 and is stuck with my xp. Help, please.

I'm running Windows 7 32 bit and I am able to hot synch my Palm TX including Adobe Reader, pTunes and Documents to go 11.0.  I do it natively to Windows 7.  However, to download another program.

You install the Palm desktop software that came with your Palm T / X normally.  After that is done, install the Palm Desktop 6.2 on top of it.  There is no category and some other features of the original color coding, but at least it works.

    Good luck.

  • Palm still has sell handheld computers?

What terrible store and search system.

Palm still sell the Tungsten TX handheld? or anyone else?  Or only phones?

I found the reference to a PalmOne Tungsten, but www.palmone.com takes me to palm.com - which has no info I can find.

    Appreciate any help.

    John

Yes, Palm handheld computers are always available directly on the Palm Store here.  The link is not accessible directly from the main Palm online store, for reasons relating to Palm by focusing on its current phones and the new model.  I do not understand why they don't seem to sell their remaining stock by putting a link on the Palm Store, but that's the answer I got, with the link above.

Palm is all about phones and accessories by the departure, and Palm doesn't produce any unit more pocket.  So, when they left, they went.  So far the Z22 is sold out in the Palm store, but TX and E2 are always available via the above link and other vendors like www.amazon.com above WyreNut, and Dell Small Business where the TX is also for sale at $260.  Or if you want to spend a little more for a reason, go to www.bestbuy.com where it is available for $314.

  • Palm TE2 unable to synchronize with Office2007

    I have a Tungsten E2 Palm OS Garnet V.5.4.7

It was purchased for me as a gift last year. I suspect it was a model 2nd hand / reconditioned.

Recently, I reformatted my desktop pc and installed the Office2007.

My operating system on the desktop computer is XP

Before reformat, I ran XP OS with Office 2000 Pro, I had no problem with my Palm up UNTIL reformatting was done.

I installed Palm Desktop V 6.2.2 Hotsync V 7.0.2 (the two more recent than previous versions that were on the platform Office 2000)

I installed Pim sync conduit for Office2007

When you try to synchronize my pc generates a message in the lower right corner "USB device not found", my Palm produces the message "the connection between your device and the desktop could not be established.  Please check your configuration and try again.

It does not appear in my device manager hardware with a yellow mark.

I managed to manually add a device in the device under "palm os handheld device" Manager which shows as "palm pocket computer" with the driver version 6.0.2.0 in the properties of the device of this element in the Device Manager.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling software, clean the registry as well.

    I've replaced the USB cable.

    I did a soft reset.

I made sure the conduit synchronization is set to Outlook.

What I suspect, is that the software in the palm itself is too old for the news that I just installed and not compatible with Outlook2007

My question is this: is it possible to update the software in the Palm WITHOUT losing the information, via an SD (512 MB in size)

Unless of course someone here has a better suggestion.
I've been on "online chat" with support and they did make me do all the things I had already tried and were no help.

I can't do a "hard reset" because I want to lose all the data that has been added since 2 weeks ago, and since I have added things like date customer and other... This could be problematic.  Normally I save on Outlook once a week, but could not since reformatting my pc and installing Office 2007.

OH, in addition, ActiveSync installed, could not get his execution.  Do not use it before, but I know that it has been installed before.

I hope someone can help, pretty please.

When you run a backup with NVBackup, you can watch its progress the screen scrolls with all files of that backup of it is.  If you want to see all the individual files that are in your backup, you can highlight the manual backup, enter the Menu and press on restore selective.  This will bring up a list of the files in the backup.

Another thing that to see the files is to use a file as the freeware run Manager application which can be found here and elsewhere. It allows you to browse the contents of the memory of your Palm, as well as the content of your card.  The files that are in your backup would be in the folder on your card:

[name of your map] > Palm > programs > NVBackup.  Backups are listed here date.  Press the triangle next to the backup, and will be expanded to display all files that are there.

It there's really no way to see the actual records to be sure of what's there, short borrowing someone another E2 and executes a restore on this subject.  But if you watched the backup because it happened and can see all the files that are in there, I think you'll be quite comfortable that everything is... I've never had NVBackup Miss and I restored my T5, several Txes incl. and my Centro with it several times.

  • Palm Desktop date

My laptop shows the correct date but my Palm desktop computer isn't even after I have synchronize with handheld ovewriting the office and I can't find a way to change the date on my desk.

Hello and welcome to the forums of Palm.

The date on your Palm Desktop program is the same date as your computer. To set the date on the Palm desktop, you will need to update the time on your computer, which is probably not correct.

Do you know how or do I put instructions?

  • synchronization Palm111xe on another computer

I want to use another computer to synchronize my palm111xe. I couldn't find my old software so I downloaded 4.1.4 of the Palm. Computer running Windows XP. Course, I followed the instructions correctly, but it will recognize my Palm Pilot in the ready to sync cradle. I ran the software when I finally tried. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you. Tom has.

    What error do you get?

When you installed palm desktop, did you create the same username you have on your handheld? To check, go to hotsync on your handheld and look in the upper right of this screen. Is this the same username name you're sync'ing to Palm desktop? If this isn't the case, create the user name and try to synchronize again.

  • Palm m500 & Vista 64-bit

I have a Palm m500.  I recently bought a new computer that is running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium 64-bit.  I downloaded 4.1.4 and 6.2 drivers upgraded, but my Palm and computer will not synchronize.  When you try to load the drivers, it breaks down, can not find them.  Any suggestions?

Hello jperl, welcome to the Palm support community!

Your problem has been reported several times on this forum.  The problem is with the fact that there is no USB driver for Vista 64 - bit Windows and Palm.

Take a look at the many "sticky" posts at the top of this section of the forum for a few suggestions.  You may be able to sync via infrared, as owners Z22.  It will be the purchase of an international registration "dongle" If your computer is not equipped with an IR port.

Palm Inc. does not even have the rights to Palm Desktop more, so don't get your hopes for a fix or a solution anytime soon...

6.2 Palm desktop computer doesn't have the ability to color category. You can uninstall 6.2 and install 4.1.4 and it works perfectly and you will have your color categories in your Palm desktop

  • VersaMail blocks (resets) my TX

I had a Palm TX for over a year and it's worked perfectly, until last night.  All of a sudden, any time that I typed on Email, it would open the VersaMail program and then, before I could type still a choice of menu, the screen turns off and the Palm would reset, apparently a soft reset.  I then googled for ideas and answers on how to solve this problem and tried to do what seemed like the agreement on the initial solution, download and install of go, then delete all the files showing the creator as asc3 or asc4. While some of them have been removed, others are remained, and some, I got error messages in the sense of "error: c:data opened in Item::remove (d)" [or something like that].  Now when I click on send, all nothing happens.

To resolve this issue with any pain and agony, compatible with good results, my questions are the following:

    (A) have I done everything I can do with the approach that I tried, or is there something extra, perhaps another step, I need to do in order to continue this process and make it work?

    (B) if I watered now that 'fix' so that it would never work, or if it was not allowed to start, where to go from here?  Can I just delete VersaMail on my handheld and reload, or leaving always embarrassing or corrupt files on the handheld?  Do I have to do a hard reset and reload all my apps my Palm Desktop?  What is the best and safest approach here?

    (C) is it necessary or desirable for me to do a Hot Sync before you make any more 'fixing' of this problem?  I synchronize my handheld and Palm Desktop computer several times a day, so I guess I can just restore my last backup sync to my desktop, which has been done before I tried to delete the files and got these error messages.  My concern is that if I had to Hot Sync now, before any new 'fix' can be suggested, I might end up ruining the VersaMail files on the desktop.  Is this true?  If so, I'm happy to lose some data minimum I could entered since my before last "fix" Hot Sync and play it safe.

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

    Al

Thanks for your reply.  In the interval between my last post and your response, I did some research on Google and found the following link:

    http://KB.Palm.com/SRVS/cgi-bin/WEBCGI.exe?new, ts = Palm_External2001, k = PalmSupportKB, case = obj(36541)

Although it is the Treo650, it described exactly my problem with my TX, so I gave it a try.  I tried the one-step approach, simply delete the files created by 'asc3' and 'asc4', but when I then did a HotSync, the problem comes back, so I assumed that HotSync has been recharging my problem and Texas.  Accordingly, I went to step two approach, which was to delete these files, then rename the VersaMail subfolder in my Palm user folder and delete the two relevant files from my backup subfolder.  I just did that last night, but so far it seems to be stable, even after a HotSync.  I have another problem with the connection, but I had it before and which will display separately.  As much as I can say at this stage, this current issue is resolved.

Thanks for your help.  I really appreciate it.
