Palmrest L512

Hello

I think to buy a ThinkPad L512 I found. It comes with a fingerprint reader, but I don't really want one. I would be able to buy a palm-rest without the fingerprint reader and replace it with this one?

Thank you

Yes you can. The fingerprint reader is connected to the motherboard via a flat ribbon cable connector.

You can turn off the reader of fingerprints in the BIOS, is there a reason why you want to redo the change functional, or is - this purely aesthetic?

I bought my R630, as soon as they were relased to the United Kingdom (Nov 2010).

I was getting some minimal, the electric shocks through my palmrest R630.
I'm sure that palmrest - keyboard surround was also made of magnesium/metallic alloy - with a shiny metallic finish Black/Brown gray (as in the case of the upper - i.e. the cover)

I sent my laptop back because of the issue of electric shock and when came back that the Palm was definitely plastic.
I returned it and said it was a bad game. When I am back once again, it was an another plastic palm rest.

I'm totally wrong or toshiba changed metal palm rest to plastic?
Are there 2 different parts - a plastic and a rest of magnesium?

How could I get electric shocks through a plastic Palm?

  • Can I put a palmrest on a thinkpad t430s thinkpad t430?

Hello! I was wondering something. I bought a t430s thinkpad with a crack in the palmrest. I want to replace it with a new one. The price on the palmrest t430 is cheaper than the t430s. That being said, I can put a palmrest t430 on a t430s? Also, I could install an RPF (he has a moment). Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Bigboy61,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community!

According to the request, we understand that looking for palmrest share your ThinkPad T430s.

It is not possible to replace the palmrest T430 to T430s, and part number of the palmrest with or without finger, fingerprint is 04W3495 - keyboard bezel ASM RPF, 04W3496 - keyboard bezel ASM No. - RPF.

    I hope this helps.

  • T430 palmrest clicking / snapping sound on the left

I just got a new T430 less than a week ago, and since that I have handled first, the left palmrest made sounds by clicking / snapping even under slight pressure. This area of the Palm seems to be above the smart card reader. Video of this phenomenon is below.

Is this normal? Everyone knows about this problem?

This computer has been sent to the warehouse, and they replaced the palmrest, which fixed the problem.

  • L512 cannot boot from a USB flash drive

I just got a brand-new L512 (model 4444-CTO) and I am trying to boot from a USB key, but it does not work. I changed the boot order in the BIOS, I tried to use F12 to bring up the boot order (which does not have the listed USB option), I tried different USB ports and nothing works.

One thing I noticed, is that on startup command BIOS screen, the entry is listed as: "-USB HDD. No other entries (including USB CDROM and USB FDD) signed a minus in front of them. USB is enabled. I've updated to the latest version of the BIOS.

Anyone have an idea what might happen?

And now, all of a sudden it works. The only difference I see is that I did a hard reboot instead of soft, but I thought I had already done that also. Well.

  • Upgrade HP Pavilion keyboard and palmrest of series 2000 g6-1d98dx

    Hello world!

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook PC g6-1d98dx and my keyboard started to fail.

I wonder if I can change the keyboard to a life-size like the one on the

HP Pavilion laptop 2235us g6, because it has a larger keyboard with numeric keypad. I know this will cause a change in the palmrest touchpad as well.

It doesn't have to be THIS model, ALL touch pad and a keyboard that fits and works would be nice.

It wouldn't be a problem for me if I had to do driver or firmware or changes if necessary mods.

Many thanks for any help you can provide in this regard,

    Kindakool

Check out these guides maintenance and maintenance for laptop HP Pavilion 2235us g6 and the laptop of HP Pavilion g6-1d98dx. There is no shared chassis, motherboard or components of keyboard on these two models. The probability of a keyboard of any other connection of model, it is a being next to nothing. Sorry, but you just use the p/n in the service Guide.

  • Palmrest squeaky T61

    Hi all

First post. I tried to do a search but couldn t find a post dealing with my exact problem.

I had my T61 for about a month and used only for a few weeks. Suddenly, the left button of the mouse equivalent under the touchpad became squeaky - and especially the half left of the button. I tried to use compressed air, in which case there was dust or something else causing noise, but it helps didn t. Then, I removed the screws to remove the palmrest to look more closely at it. The noise is still there when the palmrest is deleted, so I guess it's a mechanical problem with spring (correct English word?) that needs to be oiled or something.

Ideally, I would take a look still closer, but there seems to be some sort of special screws holding a small metal panel above the left and right click of buttons, which I am unable to remove it with standard tools. In addition, now after reassembling the T61, I notice there is a cracking noise when I put my hand in the lower right area of the palm rest, which I am not sure whether it is new or was it all first.

I would add that the keyboard broke when I was looking for the serial number on T61, and I'm not sure if I was able to adequately replace. Is it only the two "slots" on the end of the keyboard which are drag into place? It seems to be a bit wobbly when the Palm is not in place, and there is a small part of metal that seems loose under the left corner of the keyboard. I'm not sure that this position should be, as it doesn´t seem to do anything.

Any suggestions on how to proceed? The cracking, I can live with (However, prefer to fix), but the left button that squeaks is really boring. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I ve seen many good crew answers on this forum tonight, so I hope you can help me out - preferably with a do-it-yourself solution.

Unfortunately, it's one of those things that are of great difficulty. If you can, I recommend referring to the Lenovo and repair because there is really nothing you can do.

  • T400 - palmrest loose

I recently bought a T400. However, I just noticed that the region of palmrest on the right (the area next to the fingerprint reader and the latch catches, where the ThinkPad logo is pasted) is loose and not tightly attached to the chassis. It creaks even under my weight of palm. It seems that there is some gap between the frame and the cover.  Is that a normal design error or a manufacturing defect? Everyone knows this?

    Hello

I would say to reinstall the palm rest.

Here are a few videos, see button: deletions of FRU, it s SL but T is very similar.

If Basic notice some locks are broken, please contact support, but can be just, it must be reinstalled.

  • Satellite Pro P100: Brands on the palmrest

    Hello

I've had my Satellite Pro P100 for barely 6 months now... I bought it again and its has a less than one average amount of usage. Its always been neat, always clean, always take off my watch so it's not scratching the surface, etc. etc. But now I've noticed marks indicating where to rest my palms.

I expect this from a mobile phone 2nd hand that gets very intense use, but I do not expect this news!

    http://www.Nottingham.AC.UK./~cczcp1/pics/palm-rest.jpg

Someone else had a the same problem and what is the chance of getting sorted by Toshiba?
    Cheers for any help.

    Hello

These similar marks appear on my laptop 4 years old. That s nothing unusual.
It appears after several times because the hands are still on this sector for laptop.
What to say that are simply signs of use
