Passing of 300pixels/in. to 72 pixels/inch

I started to design with Photoshop, but I'm not clear on what pixels/inch to settle things. If you go for regular A4 then it assigns 2480 x 3508 pixel and 300 pixels/inch (it's the same as the DPI?) and that's fine, but for most of my previous work (art game) I always used 72 pixels/inch, the thing is if I converted my canvas to 72 pixels/inch that shrinks to 595 x 842 pixels, which is quite small (most monitors are much broader than that of our) days).

Is it possible to convert to the 2480 x 3508 pixels and 300 pixels/inch to 72 pixels/inch, but keep at the highest resolution in pixels? If not, I wonder if it is better to draw just 2480 x 3508 pixels but at 72 pixels/inch and if I did and I wanted to print the result that would be lower quality than 2480 x 3508 pixels to 300 pixels/inch? or the same thing or what?

Also any advice on the best way to resolve the original resolution and pixels/inch would be helpful, thanks!

Pixels per inch is just a ratio: number of pixels divided by the print size. It is virtually irrelevant to the use of the screen (screen Retina notwithstanding), but is required for the printer for output to the appropriate size.

Hi guys, I'm new to illustrator and photoshop, I do not have the DPI on my Illustrator and photoshop and I have only Pixels/inch in centimeters, how can I get a good equal to 300 DPI resolution, which is needed for my project?

    Papin,

If you need 300 DPI/DPI, assuming that you are exporting to a raster format, you can set the resolution in the export option.

  • Brushstrokes pixelated

I use photoshop a lot and I know already that shift - b and this thing does not work for this problem. is there a way to get rid of this problem? I have the pixelated brush strokes each other times I Zoom in or out and which never used to happen. He just decided to start randomly and it's really annoying. Does anyone have the fix?

    It should be 300 pixels/inch

and RGB color, so he shouldn't do that.

I took two screenshots of the different effects it has when I Zoom in

    Pixelated one:

    Not pixelated:

smoothed Pixels always appear in different Zoom...  Try to Zoom to 100%... and let us know whether or not they have disappeared.

  • Why is my pixelated image then?

I resized my picture so he could hold the frame in InDesign. If the image was as high resolution that I could put I changed the size of the image and adjusted pixels/inch resolution so the pixel with was the same. My resolution is 576.

I moved my image from Photoshop to InDesign and I cut and pasted the image, but it always seems that the resolution is about 40.

How can I improve my image for a sharper image viewable and printable?

    Using file > Place.

  • pixelated/blurry photoshop text?

I open a new project in Photoshop, and although everything seems to work very well, the text comes out really pixelated. It's okay if text fills the entire page or if it is tiny, the font size does not seem to do better or worse. Also, it does not matter what I use the font. I tried to change the anti-aliasing, but none of these options seem to have improved the quality anyway, they're just different kinds of bad. It drives me crazy, but this has never happened before, and I use this version on this laptop for 2 years and a half. Please help, totally stuck!

    Hi hunk,

After you create a text layer, try to change the resolution to 300 Pixels/inch.

    Steps to follow:

The images of the menu bar menu > Image size > resolution. and see if it's better.

  • Pixelated quality when using the small size of the canvas

    Hello

    I'm designing a flyer, and I work with a canvas of 437 x 612 pixels.

However, when I draw a shape or import a vector, it seems pixelated. I'm afraid that it will be pixelated on the flyers printed as well.

It has something to do with the ppi? The resolution is currently 72 pixels/inch.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Photoshop CS6 resize the dialog box showing centimeters instead of inches when leaders are set to pixels

Hello I have a problem with photoshop CS6 who is using my business. When I leaders set pixels in the preferences of my resize dialog box sets the document size centimeters. It also sets new records when the default value of centimeters. I need to know how to solve this problem. Should not act that way. I'm including screenshots of the questions.

It's preferences where leaders are defined in pixels.

    Screen Shot 2015-05-27 at 4.00.53 PM.png

This is the screenshot of a new document, set the default size of photoshop. As you can see instead of having the height/width and resolution set to inches centimeters by default for some reason any.

    Screen Shot 2015-05-27 at 3.58.50 PM.png

And here's the image size dialog box. It back the same as the new Document dialog box. It defines the size of the Document in centimeters, even if the resolution is in Pixels/inch.

It's frustrating and I don't know why this is happening. I could use some help.

Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3 running on a Mac Pro mid 2012

Processor: 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

Memory: 16 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC Ram

Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB

    Any help would be appreciated.

Hello! First of all thanks for the screenshots and a system of care.   You have done this a lot easier for me and after looking at my Mac, (Yosemite and CC 2014), I think I have a lead.

There are two ways to solve this

In the units and leaders, it is best to stay with the thumbs in the preferences.

You can set leaders apart to Pixels by right-clicking them, choose only the desired unit and that will stick. It won't change if it's a new document or a more recently opened.

The image size is a "sticky". Once you set in inches, he stayed.

Then there's the language settings. This could be a problem.

There are a few varieties of English: North American and International or the United Kingdom.

My North American English definition defines the default units in inches.  Assignment the default International or the United Kingdom, the metric system

The fix is North American selection in preferences and restarting. If you have Creative clouds you can install North American, or do a reinstall and select if you have a license permanent.

  • Photoshop pixel dimension changes when they are imported to illustrator

    Hello

I'm importing and editing text in a photoshop file in Illustrator.

    Photoshop file:

    -7020px x 9930px

    -59.44 84,07 cm x

    -300 pixels/inch

However when I save for the web, it tells me that the size of the original image is 1686px x 2384 px, but the size of the artboard is always the same as my photoshop.

    Screen Shot 2014-12-17 at 10.49.08 am.png

    Screen Shot 2014-12-17 at 10.50.51 am.png

Should I be concerned about the drastic change in pixels?

    Thanks in advance!

    Sandi,

You can set just the width or the height of the original (7020 or 9930) value in the window the size of the Image, and everything will be fine, as long as you include you the entire image in the save for Web (you should be the artboard to the work, as appropriate).

Illy has a simple approach to pixels: basically, it leaves just their only, so any way that you change the size of your work, no resampling takes place, and she uses even pixels as a unit identical to the points.

When you want to work with pixels, it is more prudent to use dots pixels as the unit, to avoid nothingness thresholds / added unwanted caused by rounding/inherent inaccuracies.

  • Pixels and the differences in size of document in Illustrator than Photoshop

Why the pixels of a project in illustrator is different from that of the same proportion of pixel of a project in Photoshop?  Example: A project can in Illustrator can be a work plan of 950px X 950px in 12 inch and Photoshop, this same pixel ratio will be 4 3/4 in.

The sovereigns in Illustrator are always with a fixed rate of 1 inch = 72 pixels (72 dpi), you can check this by right-clicking the rule and selecting inches or pixels and you will see that 950 px 13.9 inches and 12 inches will not be as you said.

The ratio of the rulers in Photoshop depends on the resolution of the ppi of the image defined by the user in the Image Size dialog box. If choose Image > Image size and select a resolution of 72 pixels/inch (ppi) will correspond to the ratio of the rulers in Photoshop Illustrator. If you set it to something else, that they will not, in your case with an image with dimensions of 4.75 inches in Photoshop, the resolution will be 200 dpi in order to contain 950 pixels per side.

When you save an image from Photoshop, which contains metadata, it contains information about the size of the document in inches and pixels. Illustrator will place these images with the size of inches not the pixels in the areas shown on the leaders of the Illustrator, internally, but the image will contain all the pixels, as indicated next to the IPP in the control under the main menu bar when the image is selected. These internal (real) image pixels will be used when printing, and when you zoom in on the screen to display the image. Also if you are copying from Photoshop and paste into Illustrator, he also will stick with the size of the po and not pixels (at least this is how it works with CS5 on Windows)

If the placed image is without metadata Illustrator will always place it assuming that 72 px = 1 inch (72 dpi). You can check if in Photoshop to save an image using save for Web and devices and choose None for the metadata.

  • You can resize pictures in pixels mode?

I currently have Photoshop Elements 7, but am using PSE1, because in 7, when I go to scale an image and even if said image is 1600 x 1200 pixels, the scaling part only lets you choose percent, inches, cm, mm, points, picas, and columns. Even in the Resolusion mentions pixels, pixels/inch and the pixels/cm.

I only work in pixels when with sizes, and then measuring down pictures, I like to be able to enter the dimensions (in pixels) I want to put across the images. Why Adobe out something like that? What a large part of leave the option to pixels in the program? Or is there a way to select pixels, I thought? Sometimes I forget things, no matter how hard I look for the answer.

    Thank you

They do not have to remove it. To resize in pixels, you do it in Image > resize > Image size, but you must turn on resampling first, since you are resampling when you change dimensions in absolute pixels in an image.

  • TIFF images and print-screen pixelated

I am trying to place a TIFF image or a screenshot on a page in Indesign, but the image eventually even pixelated with very high resolution.   I am currently viewing an image of a web page for a manual training.   I created a file of 600 pixels/inch in Photoshop, press "Print screen" when I was on the web page and saved the file in TIFF format.  When I'm in Photoshop, the image is clear.   However, when I place it on the page, the image is pixelated.   I get the same result when just paste directly from print to the screen.   Advice on how to import a clear picture?

  • Define Batch Processing out to 1200px/inch (PDF to TIF FORMAT)

I created a batch process that margins top and bottom of my cultures pdf documents, and then records them as TIF files in a new directory. PDF files are 1200 pixels/inch to start but when I opened the new fit they are only 300px/inch. Is it possible to change the parameters of the batch process? Any configuration file, I can go in and edit the text for the output tif be 1200res?

    Thank you!

(Or, and it's more a question of PS - how is my photoshop cs4 droplet cannot process PDF files?) It opens up to them, but then gripe, convert, save, etc them?)

In the Acrobat preferences, you can specify the resolution for conversion.

  • resolution and size eprint

What are the limits of the eprint system when it comes to honor the size and the resoluion of the source

    Photo?

For example, I started with a fairly small image width 674 pixels, height 675 - as you can see it's almost perfect

place.  According to photoshop, saved print resolution in the image is 204 pixels/inch

    What impression a sizer 3.3 x 3.3 inches.

However, when printing with eprint, who has been totally ignored, he cut the sides and printed as 4 x 6!

Cannot eprint honor the resolution internal size/shape or I do something wrong?

CHANGE the printer is Photosmart D110a

    Hey davexnet!

Unfortunately, ePrint will only print 4 x 6 at the moment. We're adding new features to ePrint, so this may change in the future.
