Pavilion 15 - p065tx: Pavilion 15 - p065tx, black screen after BIOS update recommended by HP assistant

System reboot with black screen after accepting the update of the BIOS recommended by HP assistant this morning. AC power on at least three hours of waiting after the process completed successfully with auto update reboots always.

Power light is on. Wired broadband light is turned on. Light CAP LOCK keyboard and led speaker hold noway.

Hard reset has been tried 3 times with no improvement.

External monitor is connected but no signal has been out of the laptop, screen is black.

Done a few times this page to reset the BIOS setting blindly:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02217843

BEEPS heard when you press F10 or F5 during procedures. But still black screen.

What can I try again?  Please advice kindly!

Hi @ sokw,

I have read and reviewed the post. Thanks for your reply. It seems that bios is damaged, and that is why the computer does not start. As it cannot be fixed by any software troubleshooting, you will need to contact the HP support by phone for the machine.

(3) Once finished, click the "Show Options" at the bottom right.

(4) Finally, scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Get a phone number." A file number and telephone number will now fill for you.

Everything worked very well until the automatic update of Toshiba asked me to download and install the new BIOS update, I did. At the same session Windows and McAfee asked updated. Any recommendation?

    Hey,.

It seems that something was wrong during the update of the BIOS and so that you can t the computer unbootable. But I put t understand why you did the BIOS update. If everything works correctly, you can forget about this update. More if you do a BIOS update you shouldn't t run any other updates or programs that might affect the update of the BIOS.

Anyway, in this case you can do nothing and you need professional help. Please contact an authorized service provider and guys can help you update the ROM module On the Web from Toshiba site, you can find a list of all the FSA:

    Hello guys,.

I'm planing to update my bios for this version

    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/EULA/calleula.asp?ID=63108

and my pc got little froze and lag then I close the program that has Flash my bios and restart my turn then black screen... I search and found this thread talking about the BIOS recovery and there seemed not workin for me (I use my 8 GB flash memory) and just do Fn + B when I press the power button to start and then the power led becomes orange... and nothing happens...

Everyone please provide me the bios file just for this model and give me a clear instruction to Flash my bios with my flash (8 GB) memory

    W8 your replay guys, thx

+ The message was edited: link removed - unauthorized 3rd party Forum +.

If the BIOS update was not properly flashed, the ROM should generally be flashed with a disc of crisis of the BIOS.
This can be done by authorized Toshiba available in your country.
Then get in touch with the ASP to solve this problem.

  • Satellite L450 (PSLY0E) - a black screen after BIOS update

It seems I have "brick" my phone during a bios utdate that went wrong... black screen as suspect: o.

The laptop is a Toshiba satellite L450 (PSLY0E)
The new bios image is named "bwaa150a.rom".

Anyone know if it is possible to recover the bios of the flash or floppy drive, using a sort of toolfrom recovery inside the bios chip?... .or something?

Anyone know who is the manufacturer of this bios?
If I rename the bios image during a recovery, what 12xxxxx be named?

To my knowledge, it is possible to reflash the EPROM module using the special procedure of crisis of the BIOS. But this crisis BIOS disk for Toshiba computers laptops isn't available for download.
This must be done by authorized maker Toshiba.

But I also read in the forum about those who tried some discs of crisis 3rd party BIOS.
Sometimes it worked, but in most cases, you need advanced help technician.

However, to use the forum search option advanced to search for similar topics on crisis disk BIOS. Otherwise, as I said above: you last chance might be the ASP.

  • Satellite C660D (PSC1YE) black screen after BIOS update

I tried to update my Bios on my Satellite C660D portable (psc1YE) last week (big mistake).

Something went wrong during the update and now when I power on I just get a black screen (LEDS and fan).

After reviewing, the conclusion is that I damaged the BIOS that must now be blind flashed.
So I got the hand on a 512MB memory stick, formatted using FAT through windows XP and used Wincris to create a startup disk after you have added the file bios.rom (renamed Bios.wph) which I extracted the last update of the BIOS on the Toshiba site.

My memory stick has three visible files on it, Phlash16.exe, bios.wph and minidos.
I plug laptop with battery, DVD player and power disconnected to stick, and hold Fn + B re-connection cable cable, turn it on.

The fan whirs at full speed, and the USB lights up and flashes then for a minute, as if being read. No matter how long I let on, the fan will continue whirring and the USB is on and when I unplug and put in still works a black screen.

I tried different sticks, (up to 4 GB with FAT32 format), programs of different startup (for example, the HP utility) drive but still no luck.

Can someone tell me what I do wrong? I tried to look for a newer version of Phlash16 just in case that was the problem, but can not find one any where (mine is version 2008)

All advice would be greatly appreciated even if it's just to tell me that I'm wasting my time because the pc is not repairable.

I can't tell you if you waste your time or not because I n know if the motherboard ROM module is OK or not

In most cases, it should be possible to reflash the ROM module using the BIOS crisis disk but this disc is available to authorized Toshiba service technicians and as much as I know reflash this methods is not always the same

However, in some cases it might be possible that the mobo could not be fixed by disk crisis, it would be the worst case

I recommend you to contact a certified maintainer Toshiba to check guys would be able to use the crisis disk and could test whether its possible to reflash the module ROM
Is it not would be not possible well in this case you would need new motherboard :(
But lets hope do ' t you need...

  • Yoga 2 Pro Black Screen after Bios Update

Only, I have formatted my yoga 2 pro, downloaded the drivers and ran the update of the Bios. I followed the instructions on playing ran me the .exe, one click on next/ok until you restart the laptop and if I'm not mistaken a menu red with a progress bar appeared. At this time, I left and when I came back a few minutes later, the laptop is on, the lighting of the screen was on but the screen was black, the backlight of the keyboard was also turned on and everything else was off. Lights on/near the switch indicating if there turned on and connected to the AC are off.

It was like that for more than 30 minutes now, no sign of progress. This happened to someone else before? I'm not very keen on must turn off or unplug the laptop while flashing the BIOS, but at this point there is not much else I can do.

I found the answer to my problem to

Now that I found this post, I remember the instructions telling me to turn it off manually when I've updated the bios earlier this year. However, these instructions don't mention about it, maybe they should be updated?

  • Re: Satellite L40 - black screen after BIOS update

    Hello world

I have exactly the same problem, as shown here:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-euro...ThreadId=35156

My laptop is a Satellite L40 - 150 (model PSL48E) it came with Vista and BIOS version 1.60

I updated the BIOS to version 5.50, because I wanted to install Windows XP. The BIOS update process went well and the computer restarted automatically. After the reboot, I entered the BIOS (by pressing the F2 key). I pressed F9 to load the default settings and you exit the BIOS, saving the changes.

Restarting the laptop and the screen is now completely empty. Nothing appears in it.

I tried to remove and then reinsert the RAM modules, but it did not help.

So, I guess the only option is to return the laptop to a service center?

Why Toshiba do that? They are this deliberately or what?

    Kind regards.

    Hello

I put t agree with Leolo and put I t too agree with you.
The point is that there are tow updated BIOS for the L40.
    One for Win XP and one for Win Vista;
But the two BONES work on with the two BIOS but some functions such as the FN buttons wouldn't work if you n t use good BIOS for the good OS.

The BIOS on the Toshiba page is not defective. But of course, it is always possible that something will go wrong during the BIOS update procedure because the BISO update is always risky!

One of my friends has updated the BIOS on this laptop and everything went well!

Change the windows flashing and reboot, I entered the BIOS to see what has changed. I saw nothing new, so I leave the WOOD and restart again.

Since then, turns on the phone, but the screen is not, it is black :-(((
Please help me, how can I save to live?
    Thank you, Eugene.

Tried to connect it to an external monitor?

  • Aspire R7 572 G having a black screen after windows update 8.1. What should I do

    Hi all

IM wondering, anyone having this problem before, Im of the problems with this black screen after startup, it happened yesterday I think microsoft needs to have updated some drivers rendering my black screen after startup. Initially, I thought it was my SSD, but it turns out that I can't get into Safe Mode.

I read more info on this problem related to the other PC and try the preferred method of 'disabling' drivers Intel GMA HD. It worked, however, this means that the main driver is now reduced to a graphics card video standard with vram limited.

I tried to roll back and even redownloading and reinstalling the intel driver in version VGA_Intel_9.18.10.3215. The blackscreen after boot have yet taken place. I missed something?

This is an old version of Intel drivers.

Try this, after uninstalling the old pilot Intel:

I'm guessing that you have reinstalled Windows from a DVD, right?

Your PC came with a version of HP OEM of Windows preinstalled, and it is the only version guaranteed to work on this unit.

You should consider reinstalling using HP recovery media to operate again.  It's a set of DVD and a CD that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

Don't forget to read through the material in the linked thread before attempting the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

    Help, please...

    Hi @vikash4309 ,

At this point I agree with the tech that look at the computer I think it's a problem with the hard drive or even the system board. They may give falsely on the test results. I would recommend that you take it back to this HP's Service Center.

If you do not replace the hard drive recovery CDs should work as long as replace you it with another hard drive and not an SSD because they are different and the recovery CD will know how to properly partition the drive.
