Pavilion 17: sound intensity
is i, m hard of hearing, possible to increase the valume once you have 100%
Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums. The only way to increase the volume in some cases, use a software called VLC media player. The volume of the max system will require 100 to 200 percent.
This will work only for the video that you play as movies dvd or video format saved on your computer. It will allow you to play music files as well.
The best way to go is to use an external speaker system. They are on the market today which are quite small and produce a great sound at high volume.
Here is a link that will show you the VLC media player and I'll give you a link to possible external speaker options.
Best portable speakers: five to buy
Now, the speakers presented on this site are just examples. There are a lot of options out there, but this gives an idea of the size and shape, you can find. The one I have at home looks like a small box of baking soda. It is 2.5 inches across and 3 inches high and I can barely hear my cell phone on all volume until I plug this little guy and I can hear it all over the House. It only cost me about $ 25.
I hope this helps.
Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

Hello
Try the following.
Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.
http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59501-60000/sp59542.exe
One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers. Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.
When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver from the link below.
After reinstalling, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery. Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds. Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.
Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu. Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER. Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.
Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete. Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation. Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices. 'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

My HP Pavilion dv2799 comes with Windows Vista and has always worked very well. However, after I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 32 bit, now sound, video and even the mouse is stuttering.
The laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce 8400 M GS, and my approach has been to find the correct graphics driver. However, I don't find the driver on the HP website. I thought that maybe I need to use a HP change NVIDIA driver? To remedy this, I installed the latest NVIDIA driver, 314.22, from nvidia.com.
Regarding the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 sound that I can't find any other driver as 4.36.7.60. According to the website of Conexant, Conexant provides no drivers for PC audio products to end-users.
It can be the cause of the performance issue? How can I solve the problem?
OK, back to the other end of the scale.
Try this one...

Hello:
Then I recommend that you follow the instructions in the guide to the link I posted above.
After you install the MS UAA driver, you may need to install the audio driver updated the posted on this link:
Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 drivers (ModelC700, Vx5xx series and dvx5xx and ABOVE )
Pilot modded by silver here
Unzip it to a folder... Use the device, right click "Audio Device on HD" Manager, choose Update driver,
Not to connect, install from a list or specific location,
Select don't search, I will choose the driver to install.
For the hardware Type select 'show all devices '.
Remove control "Show compatible hardware" and click on 'disk '.
Next... Navigate to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
Ignore XP when he complains, Reboot. If none of this works, try to reinstall XP and start from scratch. If you do not see your appliance an audio controller if you reinstall XP, then more than likely it is a hardware failure of the audio chip.

Right now, I got to work with the value "Sound" speakers "speakers and headphones (IDT high definition CODEC)" and a microphone to "built-in Microphone Arraw (IDT high definition CODEC). It's a little difficult, so you would need to play around what device that work... Good luck!

550-215na Pavilion: no sound from the rear audio input jack
Hello
I recently bought a new PC and I immediately ran into an audio problem that I can't understand. I get no sound at all from the rear audio input jack. I'm getting sound before making, and the plug rear mic works. When I plug something into the rear socket, a message appears grateful that there is something. When I checked the sound settings while it is plugged into the rear outlet, the equalizer is moving, which indicates that he gets his. But nothing comes out when I plug headphones or speakers in. I can exclude a fault with the speakers and the headphones, because they work very well to come forward. All the drivers are up to date.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi there @PrimoFigs,
I hope you find your experience of positive Support Forum! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you get no sound from your speakers when connected to the rear audio ports. I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.
Have you tried to connect another device to this port, whether it of a different set of speakers or earphones, headphones just to test if one of them works?
What it is connected to the front port at the same time? If so, then disconnect this device and try again the rear port and let me know if there is a change.
Also try this: desktop HP-no sound on speakers (Windows 8).
Please let me know if any of the work of tip for you suggestions and if we don't solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

I have been without sound for laptop this year. (Thought: I blew the soundcard in Iceland because of differences in power). Ugh. Finally realized that I could try different IDT audio drivers. Laminates to their back and voila! Now using the IDT 6.10.6329.0 device and Intel 6.14.0.3074. I have sound!
HOWEVER, the beats can not find the startup file now! I hesitate to change all the drivers to get the rhythms of work - is there any other suggestions? Very much appreciated. I can't live without beating if I have to but not preferable.
Hello GrandmaSherri,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand that Beats Audio cannot find the boot file. I'll do what I can to help you with this problem! Normally, an uninstall and reinstall of the IDT audio driver will solve the problem. Please try these instructions:
1. go in Control Panel. In "Programs and features", uninstall the IDT Audio entry, and then restart the computer.
2 use HP Support Assistant to install the right driver IDT. More information on how to proceed are provided in this site: download or update of software and drivers for HP computers
This should solve the problem. Whatever it is, please post your results. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

No pavilion dm1 sound when I connect to the tv via hdmi
I put the HDMI as audio by default output when connected to the TV and have no sound.
I've updated the Bios, graphics and driver sound but still no joy.
Here are the details of the laptop if it helps...
No. A2D08EA #ABU
Serial number {removed privacy}
Display graphics card AMD Radeon HD 6320
The Windows 7 32-bit operating system
All sorted now and works great
After the recovery to factory settings, I tried connecting via HDMI on my main TV (Plasma LG 50PC1DA) and it still does not work... Tried another HDMI cable and still no joy with the sound.
Tried the DM1 on two TVs (Samsung LE40R74BD of LCD and a Panasonic Plasma TH-42PX8B) and everything worked fine... Was not what anyone defined as default... Just connected via HDMI cable and all was fine...
Hope this helps other users having the same problem
Now for a couple of beers
