Pavilion a1000n Front Panel on / off button

The façade, on/off button no longer works.  What are the technical requirements for it so I can get a replacement from other sources as HP stock is no longer a replacement.

Tony Lake, welcome to the forum.

You can try the HP Partsurfer page to see if it is listed.  However, given that the computer is more than 9 years old, it may be unavailable at HP.  If this isn't the case, you can try a local computer repair shop to see if they have a third party that will work.

Please, click on "Thumbs Up +" if I helped you and click "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

I bought a new HP Pavilion H8 - 1160t with this red light strip boring on the front panel.  How can I disable this light permanently? Thanks in advance.

Follow the steps in thislink to remove the front cover and power button/light. Skip step 6 (detach the power switch on the motherboard connector) and focus on step 7 (connector to detach the LED on the motherboard). skip the remaining steps. Reinstall all parts except the LED Strip by reversing the above steps. That should do it.

  • How to add a record button on the front panel to save waveform data

Hi, I'm new kind of LabVIEW and I worked on a code for an agilent oscilloscope communicate via GPIB and so far it works well on the collection of these two analog channels one by one, "Not UNLIMITED" but it does the trick (vpp, Vrms, frequency, etc.).  I've added the feature to add data to a .csv file waveform (problem: opens a dialog box until the user gathers all the data.) Solution: I want the user to save the. File CSV whenever he wants to use later on the front panel). I've added another feature to get a snapshot of the curve waveform (problem: opens a dialog box.) Solution: I want the user to save the JPEG file, whenever he wants to take a snapshot ("take snapshot" button on the front panel)).  I work with the agilent hp54645d driver. I have attached my code, if someone can tell me please how do I do this (maybe cabling and structures are solutions do not know). Thank you in advance.

I would recommend adding a case structure just around the two record VI and a button to check the condition of the structure of each case. If you want a button to control both save functions you can put the two record functions in the same structure of business controlled by a single button. You are right in saying that the loop will cause your code runs until the stop button is pressed or until the stop condition is met. If you are wanting the while loop to stop once the recorded information you can use the button that you use to control structures case to also stop the while loop. I hope this information helps.

  • pause button on the front panel

    Hello.

I try to run synchronous, continuous analog conversion of 2 cards of PXI-6259, and capture the State of the several digital at the same time.  I managed to get everything is configured and working properly, however I have a problem if the user presses the button "pause" on the front panel.

From what I can tell, acquisitions of data will continue to run in the background (I'm using a task DAQmx and stop was never called).  For my analog inputs, this is not a problem.  However, the digital inputs always generate a ' 200010 - on-board memory overflow error. Due to the limitations of system and/or the bandwidth of the bus, the driver could not read data the device enough fast to follow the flow of the unit. »

Is it possible to register for an event of user interface that is generated when the user presses the button "pause", so that I can stop the acquisitoin of data before the error occurs?

    Thanks in advance,

I thought to add my own button "pause" / control, but my users have become accustomed to hitting the pause on the front panel button, and it will be difficult to get them to change.  I guess that the error would remind them :-)

Well, that's easy to fix - change the appearance of window properties if the toolbar is not visible, while the code runs, and there will be a pause button for your users to click.

Many of our applications have a function somewhat like this.  My colleague implementation in a very simple way: he put the graphical indicator within a box structure.  Connect a Boolean control "pause" to the structure of the case, and that's it.  Data acquisition runs constantly but will only update the chart when the pause button is false.  This approach might work for you?

  • Functional global variable home (RFGV) is cut off by the controls on the front panel

    Hello

I though that I had found the ultimate way to dynamically manage memory in a system of Exchange. I read on RFGV here: http://labviewwiki.org/Functional_global_variable and put together a static FGV normal to follow the references for each created instance of memory which I then could easily remember just by name. But now I found that all the RFGV completely stops whenever a front panel with a menu control is used, i.e. 'enum', 'ring' or 'control path. I tried to put in different delivery systems, but not luck. I read about that guy who could have fallen into the same problem: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Do-I-need-to-use-a-semaphore-when-reading-writing-a-functional/m-p/1... but he got no help what I could see.

I have not tried semaphores. Don't know what that is. Check my little test code and tell me what I am doing wrong. Or maybe there is no solution in this case I have to abandon the idea of the use of RFGV for anything. Maybe memory held all the VI will be assigned statically.

Run the code (in LV2009) and watch the 6 LEDS Flash. Then click on anyone of 'enum', 'ring' or 'path' (the file dialog box) and watch off LED when dynamic memory is used to write or read while the continoues to static VI.

    Any suggestions?

    Best regards

    Kai

If the memories are good, what you're running against is not the user interface thread, but an internal mechanism of LV called the loop of the root, which must run in some things. Specifically, in your case, the method run a VI and showing a menu (a menu real, or a context menu of a ring).

You can work around this problem (and greatly simplify your code) If you use the call node of the reference instead of the method to execute a VI, but I wouldn't recommend it anyway, since I assume that your code is not what you think it does. In LV memory management can be quite complex if you want to be able to control it, so if you feel you really need, I suggest to start by searching for existing materials on the management of memory in LV

  • button arrow in front panel

    Hi guys,.

I want to have an arrow in the front panel to control the operation of a number.

    Which means;

If I press the arrow key to the left, the number decreases and arrow key to the right, the reverse occurs.

I found a drawing of arrow under the decorations but cannot change anything with her.

Basically, the arrow is sufficient to act as a Boolean switch.

Once pressed, it lights up and the number accordingly runs and stops when letting go.

I want to have the arrow keys to make the more presentable façade.

    Pls advice me to.

PLs Note: I'm not using the keyboard to simulate on the front panel. It is purely on the façade.

one thing you can do. I should work

    1. make a right click button in VI and select Advanced > customize

    2. then a window will appear where you can customize the button.

    3. click on the right button and select Import an image from the Clipboard > decal

    4. it should look like this (attached)

  • Is there a way to put a button on the front panel only when clicked gives a pop-up dialog box with more information on it?

    Hello world

The simulations that I create are very simple themselves but are intended to use in the classroom to help students learn more about the proven theory.  I hope to be able to place a 'help' or 'other info' button on the front panel that rises wants more info on theory, they can click on it and a pop up appears with background information on it.  It should also have a second button to close it and return to the main façade.  Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

    Thank you!

Use a structure of the event on the main vi when the button is clicked, launches a "help" void / vi. On the inside of the Sub vi (with the set properties to load the front when it is called, of course), use another structure of the event to wait until then click on the button of the Subvi, you can return to the main VI. Do you need assistance on using the structures of the event?

  • Scan of the computer does not work in silent mode of the button on the front panel.

The machine is the Photosmart all-in-1 6280 on a network of small size and using the HP Solution Center. Basically everthing works fine, but when I use the button on the front panel to scan a document, it seems necessary to walk to the computer to answer a question about whether I want to scan another document until I could walk to the printer/scanner and press the button to scan the following document. Surely, there must be a way to do the scan run in quiet mode so that I don't have to keep clicking OK on the computer every time? I have already disabled the overview of digitization and the prompt for advanced options.

Oops, forget all that; now I found the setting 'interrogate analyses' which stood on another branch of the installation menus. That solved my problem

  • WANT 411c: MFP ENVY 411c lights on the front panel

I find anywhere a note detailing the two LEDs on the front panel of the printer.  Of course, the left is the power light and the Start button / stop.  The other, 1/2 "to the right, has an icon as the icon of WiFi or wireless, or whatever it may be as an antenna with a radiating signal left and right of it.  What is this for?  It seems that there is a hole below and to the right of the symbol, but nothing ever shows up.  I turned off the wireless and turn it back on and or State shows a light here.  I reinstalled the software checks to see if that mattered and it made no difference.  I also unplugged the router and the printer, and that has not changed anything. It is connected to my wireless network and works very well.  What this has to do with some additional services such as ePrint?  I just lost some of them September 1, 2016.  Perhaps the only light when something just one of them?

    Hello

That your work as expected wireless connection, there no problem with the wireless printer, just with his lamp wireless card.

The lamp to indicate the wireless connection is turned on and must turn on once connected wireless.

They have nothing to do with ePrint or any Web service, it must turn on once connected to a local wireless network.

As you mentioned that you are connected and the printer maintain a wireless connection, it's probably just a blown bulb.

  • Watlow DP front panel

    Hello

Can anyone help. I am currently doing a project for College. Basically, my plan is to use labview to control a temp of DP watlow controller to turn on a heater off the coast. I want only basic as set functions of preforms and read the temperature and possibly graph temperature. I will also put in place a regular thermostat and relay to switch on and switch off the device and use it again the PDD to monitor and graph of this temperature. My project is basically to graphically display the benefits of PID regulation.

Now, here's my problem. I'm pretty much a perfect beginner when it comes of labview and programming. I downloaded Labview instrument for the DP controller drivers, but I have no idea how to use. I got the connection from my laptop to the watlow via internet but I have no idea on how to get on the cat of my watlow labview. When I opened the drivers of instruments is just a load of Subvi and I don't know what to wire to the place where, or what to use to get a simple button on the front panel by increasing or decreasing the set temperature.

Any help would be appreciated to massivly

    Thank you

    Hi, Declan,

Yes, they are the right drivers. I assume you are using LabView 8.0 or later version. Just to help you get started, here is the link which explains the fundamental band of instrument drivers.

Internally, the VI in an instrument is organized into six categories.

    (1) ' initialize VI"establishes the communication with the instrument and is the first driver of the instrument calls VI

    (2) "set screws" are software routines that configure the instrument to perform specific operations. After calling these VI instrument is ready to take the step.

    (3) ' command screw action/Status' the instrument to perform an action or to get the current status of the instrument or pending operations

4 "data" screws from the instrument of transfer or date

    (5) "utility" VI run various auxiliary operations, such as reset and self-test

    (6) ' close' close VI ends the connection of the instrument software. It's the last pilot instrument called VI.

There is a help function (?) the top tablet of your block diagram window, if you click on that and put your cursor on the VI it tells you the function and what it takes to be connected in VI. This should be enough to get you started.

There are also a few examples to the finder OR example-> entry material / output-> instrumentation drivers-> labview plug-and-play (if you can't find them please install the instruments from hereaggilent) who should give you an idea of how works driver programming and instruments. This should be enough to get you started. I'll try to find you some examples that are related to your project.

Also if you are in the United Kingdom and needs help with learning LabView programming you can call 01635 523545, and they can organize courses for you.

    Best regards

  • Conflict of flow of data on the front panel

    Hello

My vi is almost done, but I still have a problem with the front panel. I think that there is data traffic conflicts in my vi.

When you run my vi, you will see the pop-up window asking you to set a path of file, control devices, selection of data to record and trace. Then, you might want to change the units, turn off all the buttons light and ok to select what data you want to save. Then click on RUN.

The problem is; supposedly all the buttons are on by default, if you disable certain economies or tracing buttons to choose not to save, and then click RUN, after that all the buttons are again even if you have turned off before the race. They must stay off, if you have selected to save. The condition of main data flow is always the same be before running (only light buttons and ok).

Do you have ideas of how to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance

You have what is called a race condition that usually slips in programs that use local variables.  If you look at your first while loop to read in the current value of the 'steam data hand' control and store in a shift register.  After the structure of the event outputs you write this offset value to register in the control and in the process of replacement of the changes that the user can do.

A quick and dirty solution would be to manage the main event to change the value for 'Stream' in the structure of your event to update the shift register whenever the user changes the values in the control.

A better solution would be to get rid of the shift registers and move local variables in the structure of the event.  As long as the option "lock the front until the end of the event" (I'm not sure of the exact wording and I work in the LabVIEW Base at the moment so I can't check) is selected it will ensure that you do not work in a race condition (you know the value cannot change inbetween you value reading, and you update the control).

Even better would be to avoid local variables wherever possible.  This is general advice only and not not something that I can do much more tangible without knowing the details of how you want your application to behave.

    Hope this helps,

    Simon

  • hp6500 loses scanning front panel settings

I have an HP6500, ethernet connection, working with three workstations.  One is XP Pro SP2, one is Windows 7, Windows 7 is 64-bit.

The HP digital monitor is active on all three.

HP Solution Center is functional on all three.

I used the solution center to update the parameters of the scan front panel button. and who can get all three workstations.

The problem is that over time, sometimes in as little as a few hours, the HP6500 loses the front panel scan button settings. He still knows the name of each of the workstations and I can select a computer, when I start the process of digitisation of the 6500. But then, he doesn't know how to prepare the analysis, for example, PDF, JPEG, etc.

When the front panel scan settings are missing, I can always run a scan using the HP Solution Center software, but this is not how I prefer to operate.

This requires frequent restart workstations or feed the 6500/disable.

    Any suggestions? Thank you.

A lot of people have had this problem, and apparently good old HP doesn't care to fix it.  The only way I found to solve this problem is to turn off the power for a while.
