Pavilion dv2700tv: HHD to SDHD/SD

Hello... I own a laptop Pavilion dv2700tv special addition that originally shipped with Vista. I have since upgraded this laptop for windows 7 and am currently running windows 8.1 with no major problems. This laptop is very well designed with components of very good material. I still want to go with a SATA HARD drive is running a 1tbSDHD or 516SSD. Y at - it something on this laptop which would prevent me from doing this? The HD IDE or SATA connector? Would need an update the BIOS? Thanks for your reply. -Pogostyx

PS: I am running Windows Professional 8.1 w/Media Center 32 bit, 4 GB of DDR2 ram, GeForce 8 M series graphic GS (128 MB memory dedicated) adapter, resolution of the screen to 1280/820(vivid graphic display) running the lates drivers nVidia, dual-band 802.11 N Intel wireless card. HDMI output, ports two USB 3.0. I want to upgrade to 64-bit Windows 8.1 Professional to use all 4 GB of memory. I have the necessary media and authoriztion code. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Thanks again

How do you have USB 3? An expresscard adapter? Your hard drive is a SATA connection and you can use an SSD if you want. I would setup a 64-bit version of Windows in order to use all the RAM. Updates to BIOS on this model are problematic because the flash must be done from Vista, or you risk bricking it. What version of BIOS do you have?

  • Pavilion dv2700tv: BlueTooth driver for Windows 10

Recently, I upgraded my Pavilion dv2700tv at 10 Windows. The upgrade went well, but there were a few problems that I can't overcome. Drivers for HP Bluetooth Module do not work in Windows 10 and no drivers were installed using windows update. I went to the website and download the drivers who had to work with the module, but found no joy of Broadcom. After several days to discover and try the different drivers, I installed on version 12.0.0.4051 Broadcom driver, driver 08/11/2012 date. This driver works with the module. 10 Windows Action Center recognizes the driver and provides a button that can be displayed/hidden on and outside. The problem is I can pair a device (phone, helmet), but I can't connect to a device. I switch on the button to connect, but my device does not appear in the list of connection. Are there compatible with windows 10 drivers and the HP Bluetooth Module where I not only pair but connect to external devices? Thanks for your help.

Yes... I installed a Plugable USB Bluetooth 4.0 instead 2.0 adapter. Windows installed 10 one updated for her driver, but it didn't work. Finally, I installed the driver provided on the CD supplied with the Plugable. Everything works fine. I had to uninstall the Bluetooth Module HO software and disable the module before I installed the Plugable drivers. Thanks for your post.

  • Pavilion dv2700tv: memory upgrade

BTW, my Pavilion dv2700tv processor is core 2 duo Intel 9300 2.5 mhz, 6 MB of L2 cache.

    Can I place DDR2 DDR3 memory?

    Thank you

    Pogostyx

    Hello:

    Unfortunately, you can not.

DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 memory run on different voltages and are cross with each other.

The notches are cut in different places to prevent people to install the wrong chip in a PC which would result in damage to the strip of memory, motherboard of the PC, or both.

  • Pavilion dv6: HHD disk failure

OK, so my hard drive has failed and so I can't fix anything, because everything that is stored on the hard drive in question. I want to know is if I buy a hard drive of the replica somehow get access on the failed hard drive to transfer all the data directly from the old to the new (think of the old drive hard does not start to read)
And the Doctor error code for the error log is two
    60C27S - Q 5, 3813 - QFPH5F - 60RV03

What precisely what it means and it's somehow fixable?

Thank you for your time invested and trying to direct me to a solution, in my case I tried everything but the hard drive from the point of view of mobile was very dead and unrecoverable. However, in the hopes that it helps others, I was able to arrive at a solution alternative and here's how.

I took the hard drive of my laptop and put it in an external enclosure, effectively changing to an external hard drive, at this time he was recognizable by another mobile work however the formatting. I did essentially wiping every bit of data on the hard disk (this removes perminently, NEVER RECUPERABLE) at this point, I had a black disk and so I just installed a new version of Windows on the drive in my laptop and Windows update did the rest (found it necessary to downloaded and installed all the drivers) this brought the laptop in working condition , in the end I lost everything there, but as a plus, I had a fully functional laptop. Councils have the work laptop check the HARD drive for bad sectors and recover if possible.

Hello, I have a m6-1045dx pavilion. My HHD is no longer operational. I would like to know if I can buy a SATA III instead of the stock SATA HHD version?

Yes, SATA - III is backward compatible. A new portable SATA-III HDD works in any laptop computer that supports a SATA drive, assuming that the thickness is compatible (9.5 mm or 7 mm)

Post back if you need assistance. Basically, treat it as a hard drive. Don't think you have to do all the weird BIOS settings and I'm not real big on SSD optimization software, even software made by the SSD manufacturer. With Windows 7 and especially that the SSDS work.

    Hello team,

I have computer hp Pavilion 15-p028tx laptop and I want to migrate disk ssd. My machine is runing on windows 10 real operating system right now. My question is that how can I recover my windows Genuine 10 after installing ssd?

    I'm waiting for your answers.

    Thank you

    Micheline

    You're welcome, mate!

By cloning your drive to another, you create a complete copy of the content on another site. The important thing is not to try to clone a drive that does not have the capacity to be a destination drive (for example, you can not clone 700 GB of data on a 250 GB drive). It is also strongly recommended to make a backup of the most important data to another location (external disk, NAS, cloud, etc.) before doing so.

When the process is complete just exchanging the drive (in this case, unplug the HARD drive and connect the SSD to the same SATA port). You can learn more about cloning here:

  • HHD has failed and needs to be replaced on my out of warranty Pavilion DV6 (Windows Vista)

I have a laptop DV6 Pavilion running Windows Vista that I bought in 2009.  I realize that is no longer under warranty HP so I have to pay for any changes or corrections to this computer.

Earlier this week, the hard drive (the one included with the computer) failed with error 03f0. It is my understanding that this error is a fatal error and the drive is essentially 'toast '... Unfortunately, I do NOT have a backup of the image of that hard drive. I have just the recovery disks that I created when I got to the computer originally.  I quite like this computer I would try out running back (if possible) without having to spend a LOT of money. In my simple mind how how I get this computer running and upward would buy/install a compatible replacement hard drive and boot the system with the recovery discs. Unfortunately, I think my plan is simply probably naïve and I probably need to do other things. So I need some advice before you start this process and possibly wasting my time and money.

I need answers to some of these questions:

-Will it record Windows/Vista OS and more recovery disks to get the computer running with a new hard drive?

-If I need Windows OS disc, can I go directly to Windows/8?  OR do I need start with Windows Vista and then upgrade to Windows/8 later?  Use recovery discs and all Windows operating system? OR I can get running with just the disks in the Windows operating system?

-If I can get the hard drive and Windows operating system loaded, I guess I need HP drivers, etc... Does it mean that I have to get the disks from HP's Windows operating system or can I get it from Microsoft or Amazon and download the drivers from HP later?

Thanks to anyone who can help me here for advice! It will save me a LOT of time and money.

Also, is it possible to download a disk image of windows 7 64-bit recovery for this pc, rather than order the CD?

    Hello

The HARD disk that you propose is fine and you can use the following workaround to create an installation disc - you create the installation disk must be the same version of Windows that originally came with your laptop.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the activation code on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

Create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

Additional drivers, you may need can be found here.

I want to use a hard drive of 4 TB as the main hard drive on my computer.  I find no documentation on the system firmware to determine if it can use UEFI.   Does anyone know if the firmware on the m9550f can use UEFI or where I can find this information?

  • Replace the HHD Pavilion m7 with SSD boot drive

I have a Samsung 840 Evo SSD that I managed to install in the 2nd internal drive Bay. It works great as a second internal drive, but I want to make the boot drive for Windows 8.1 or simply swap with the internal HD, which is the current startup disk.

I used the program Samsung disk magician to clone the internal HD to the SSD, but it does not appear in the BIOS, so I can't select it as your startup disk. I tried to boot from the SSD with the internal HD disconnected and it fails, apparently because the laptop does not see the operating system on it.

I updated the BIOS to F.29, which is the current version, but the SSD simply does not appear in the BIOS.

    Any help is most appreciated!
