Pavilion dv6-3052ee: dv6 command line recovery

I have HP pavilion dv6 3052ee. with windows 7 preinstalled .He has 3partitions on his hard drive... Drive c 444 GB for windows and my files. drive D is called recovery. and drive E is called HP tools.

I tried to install win 8.1 from a USB key. but it just keeps restarting until it reaches even the desk top. so I decided to go back to windows 7. but before you start the recovery by pressing f 11 at startup, I started at the command prompt. and typing "format c:/FS: NTFS" and you press on enter. but it does not format the c drive... He formatted system drive before the drive c. then tried to push f 11 on start up, but it has not begun recovery... He tried to start win 8.1 and kept restarting in a circle as usual.

My question... Is it possible to start the recovery on the D drive in the command prompt?

Thanks a lot cheryLG... U gave me the help I need. but not in your comment on my thread. but I got your comment on an old thread that Mr. visruth sent me. and your comment is:

  • HP Pavilion Dv6 7078 CA recovery without recovery disk

Hello!! I have a Hp Pavilion Dv6 - 7078ca, and after only 6 months of use, the hard drive just died.

because I live in the Brazil and brought the computer home, I could not use the mandate, given that the mandate is for canada only.

So I changed my own HARD drive for one on exactly the same model he had, but to my surprise, when I used the recovery media that I had made, the DVD have been corrupted, so I coudnt get it by using the recovery media.

I tried to install windows 7 Home premium (the one provided with the laptop), but there's a hardware incompatibility, so I couldn't install the drivers of it.

and the worst problem is: I can't control even other media recovery, because even if I ask them for some friends to the Canada, so this friend comes for me, HP Canada Web site does not accept international credit cards.

so, my question is, anyone know if I am able to restore my computer without this recovery media? If so, how can I do?

    Thank you!!

    You're welcome, Roger.

Someone must have upgraded your dv6-6c75ea, because this model initially provided with Windows 7 to factory.

When you start from the disc W10 make you, on the lower left side of the installation window, there will be a repair option.

You can choose that and in this menu, there are a few choices of repair.

But if you must reinstall Windows 10, as I wrote earlier, you will not have a product key as long as W10 has been previously activated.

    Hello:

I can't help you with the problem of recovery disk.

This site provides a different part # for the kit, but that does not necessarily mean you've got the wrong set of disks.  HP may have revised their.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6135dx: bad recovery disks sent

If three computers laptops hp of my family died in the same week (tbf time my parents had the virus and I have neglected my failing ram). I took them all better buy geek team because I didn't have the time to fix and my parents are under warenty.

All I wanted to do to mine was a complete system restore and wiping, already backed up all my data but my recovery partition has been altered and I don't have a recovery disk, a mistake I'll be sure to never do it again.

After that the best buy had it for a few days, that they informed me that I had to buy the hp recovery discs. I paid extra money for 2 days shipping, obtained records, took the best purchase and waited several days to be told that the discs are bad and I had to ask hp for replacements for the disks, I had no more than a week ago. So today I spent over an hour on the phone by train and failure to have a person to understand and give me a solution to what I thought was a fairly simple problem (everyone I spoke with was nice, but we had a problem with his microphone and I could hardly understand them).

Don't know what should be the next step, but I have been without my computer alone for weeks at this point and I seriously need to work.

  • Pavilion dv6 - 2136ev: partition recovery Hp pavilion dv6 - 2136ev

    Hello everyone.

Before all these i want you to know that I had created Hp recovery cd of hp recovery cd creator, but whenever I start since the 1st cd error 0xc000000e comes and I can't do anything.

Well, I'm currently building my HDD from zero again.

For some reason, I deleted the entire drive, and of course I deleted all partitions (hp recovery, system, HP_tools, C)

I searched and I worked too much to make the record as it was before the format. I mean that of the recovery of all the cd's that I had created, I copyed all wim files (150) and I managed to create a WIM (base.wim) (base.wim 14.1 but original was 14, 4 GB) under the name exactly as it was. After that, I managed to extract the windows 7 because it was manufacture of imagex. Then I created the HP_RECVOVERY (E (16.8 GB) parition and I put this basic .wim file and all other files are on the recovery disk 1.) After that, I managed to organize and build the structure of partition as excact it was before with the same partition type ID, same custom mbr, even the score SYSTEM which is hidden and HP tools (100 mb). Now I can boot to the recovery with the f11 key partition or boot from the recovery partition if I choose the option from the Recovery Manager.

In addition, I fixed the BCD and everything is ok. Custom MBR is okay, the trapping sequence is ok, IDS are ok etc.

Finally, it seems that nothing happened. And here we are

My problem is that whenever I try to do small restore the Recovery Manager I come with the error "the partition manager can run hard drive, it takes the cd to start." But as I said previously, disc 1 cannot start, it seems 0xc000000e.

My second problem is when I try to create the 2nd recovery disk to load the stucks to 0 several minutes after he normally goes and when it ended at 100%, it displays "1 on 1 disc is necessary" and when I put the DVD on dvd rom comes another error and know it: the dvd is not empty put another dvd, etc.

I think that some files are missing or some settings are bad, but I can not figoure what is it... !

I tried to get in touch with HP is they told me that my laptop is wihdrawn and they can't send me set of recovery disks.

Can you help me fix this situation?

    I would be happy

Sorry if I had grammatical or language errors

Well, I finally managed to fix the error 0xc00000e in the 1st recovery Cd, and now I'm reinstalling Windows 7 starting from recovery Cd

  • Pavilion DV6-7010US: Windows 7 x 64 OS Recovery for a customer with a hard drive defective

If a customer brings in his laptop DV6 we replace the hard drive (physical hardware failure on the read/write heads, click of death) and you notice the product key (of course) is rubbed off the label.  In addition, the client wants that pass us 850 Pro Samsung SSD (no problem) as soon as we have the HP recovery media.

So we order the media and go to install it, and the first thing we encounter at 6% is the error: failed to create the CDS. FLG

    * crap *.

    Troubleshooting time:

Tried an external DVD - RW drive to install OS - no dice

Tried a disk WD Black 7200 RPM (new) - No dice

Tried removing the RAM bars, different slot configurations - no dice

Many other hours of troubleshooting resulted with all the same result.  We even recalled HP to verify that they sent the correct discs which they categorically said they did.

So here we are with a laptop that should have only taken an effort of 2 hours and ended up with a happy customer, and now we are nowhere close to a successful outcome.  So I return to the forum of the assistants, geniuses and then the occasional * happy? * HP Support person asking for help.

    Here is the info:

    Hello:

    Yes you can.

Here are the instructions and you should be all set.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.
