Hey @Alessia_to,

Before I provide documentation of troubleshooting, I would like to take a few minutes to welcome you to the community of Support HP, where you can ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I read your post and see that you need help creating recovery disks.

Here is a document for you to read called create recovery discs or record a recovery Image on a USB Flash drive. I pulled some information in the document for you. The first thing that I would like to share with is only DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD + R or DVD + R DL disks are compatible with the design of recovery media program. The next disk types are not compatible with the design of recovery media program:

  • CDs

I have HP Pavilion dv5-1010et Entertainment Notebook PC. I entered Recovery Manager, you click on advanced, then selected Options create recovery disks and then press Next. Recovery Manager does not invite me to insert a blank CD, instead a dialog box appears with a red cross on the left saying "recovery disk was created. There is no CD or DVD inserted first Virgin. How to fix this problem? That hurt that I could not create recovery discs? I would appreciate help with this problem.

    @lauriej

I'm sorry that you run also in this issue of recovery disc creation. You can also contact HP Technical Support at the 800.474.6836 to let them know that you have a problem, create the discs. As in the case of the CW4ZNS, the retailer may have created the disk but failed to give them.

You can also create your own disc of Windows 8, however. Perhaps this is a faster option for you.

Download the ISO of Windows 8 64-bit here

ImgBurnto burn the ISO to a disc.

If you need to use the drive, you will have to put the disc in, reboot and press F9 to the power of. Select your CD drive and start the installation. It will ask you the product key, and you can find that on the label of Microsft on the sides or the back of your computer. Once installation is complete, you will need to go to Your HP driver Page to download your drivers and software.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions on this

  • Laptop HP 15-f162dx: THEIR is NO OPTION of DVD FOR DVD RECOVERY DISC CREATION IN the HP RECOVERY MANAGER'S

I HAVE HP 15-f162dx NOTEBOOK PC in WHICH I AM creating RECOVERY DVD DISCS IN "HP RECOVERY MANAGER", BUT in THE "HP - CREATE RECOVERY MEDIA" IS NO OPTION TO CREATE a DVD. EARLY CLAIM.

    CONCERNING

    Ok.

I don't see that as a real issue or problem.  The ability to create a recovery media is part of the purchase, and you do not have the ability to create a recovery media.

Why don't you use the option of USB flash drive?

The USB stick recovery is higher on the recovery DVD disc in a number of ways.

    (1) a usb flash drive are not damaged by just scratching the surface, unlike the DVD in a set of recovery disks. A scratch on the side of disc label #1 and the whole is unusable.

    (2) a recovery, when from a usb flash drive takes less than an hour, so that once made with one set of recovery disks can take up to four hours.

    (3) not all DVD media can be used to create a reliable recovery DVD media.

    (4) DVD media can be easily destroyed by heat, if you live in a region of the world where the temperature is normally high.

    (5) usb recovery media creation takes less than an hour, compared to the time it would take to make a recovery of the DVD disc.

  • Satellite L350 - Question about recovery disc creation

    Help, please.

I read in the manual for my new lap top before setting up and feel rather nervous.

The seller said that he had to open automatically when I start it, and all I had to do to install the printer and my word m/s (for example) program and I would be in place and running.

But it seems that I should first do some recovery disks.
How many disks is necessary? DVD no doubt - or D/L.?
The recovery discs are possible after other programs installed?

Secondly, he mentioned the manual online. Where can I find it?
I have a scanner and a Seagate external hard drive, but these can be added later.
I use the laptop as a desktop replacement for my old Mesh PC of five years.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

Yes, it is very important to create the recovery disk before you change anything on your HARD drive laptops.
When you have completed the installation of Vista, you must start the application called recovery Toshiba disc Creator.
This application will help you create the recovery disk.

As I m not wrong not you would need a DVD. I recommend using a DVD-R.

Notes; in some cases, you might get an error burning the recovery DVDs. This may happen because not all drives are fully compatible. So if you get this error please check different DVD from different manufacturers

  • Pavilion DV6 3000 Entertainmet: Need help to install an SSD for my laptop

Hello everyone, I want to get a SSD for my notebook to use as first HDD and system C, so I can have a better communication and speed faster for the system (like rendering, export audio & video).
I can do in my HP Pavilion DV6 3000 entertainment? What type of SSD can adapt to the system?
Running on Windows 10 (recently updated), Intel i5 M520 @2.4 GHz, Ati Radeon 1 Gb HD, 4 GB DDR3 Ram... HARD DRIVE 320 GB

I don't want to talk negatively about a manufacturer's product, but it is a fact that we saw a few compatibility issues raised here on the Forum about an old series of SSD Crucial, the MX which is not what you're asking about. I have used other than the MX series Crucial SSD successfully, but they are not my first choice. Crucial is a very reputable company and will remain fully behind their product. If they say it is compatible you aren't risking anything to try it.

User Account Control (UAC) can help you to prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. It works by asking permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings affecting other users. We do not recommend disable user account control. If you turn it off, you must reactivate as soon as possible.

Reformat a USB flash disk deletes all the data on this subject. Be sure to back up data that you want to keep before you begin.

I strongly recommend to back up all your important files and folders on an external storage device before

  • HP Recovery Disc creation program

    Hello

Re: Pavilion P6516f-b Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Recently, when prompted, I started the process of a recovery of three-disc set. a 1 went smoothly. 2nd drive in and immediately pop up says impossible to use the drive, insert a new one, I did. But, then for the HP Recovery software me the notified in a pop up that discs 1 & 2 have been created successfully and move on to disk 3. Disc 2 has NOT been created. If this process of creation of recovery disks can be made once and only once, how do I get the HP software to create the second disc? I did not continue to drive three because of this concern.

I've slogged in hundreds of patch download lists and, frankly, am not knowledgeable enough to choose something that could be the answer.

Thank you, in advance, for ANY info.

    Hello

I would contact HP using the phone number that is on the link corresponding below and explain that the Recovery Media Creator is unable to create a viable set of recovery disks and ask them to send you a set of free replacement of these discs.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.
