  I use a HP Pavilion dv6103nr Entertainment Notebook (Window XP).  Audio device was working before, but a few months ago the audio started does not (no sound cannot be played).

  When I go into control panel--> sound and devices Audio---> it is said that no. AUDIO DEVICE

  Then I go to control panel to control---> system---> hardware---> device---> sound, video management and game controllers---> I found a yellow question mark beside: MICROSOFT KERNEL annuleur of ACOUSTIC ECHO and another question mark yellow right next to: MICROSOFT KERNEL WAVE AUDIO MIXER.

  I then right click on each of these drivers and tried to update the two drivers (I've tried insert the recovery disk (it is the only drive that I got when I bought this laptop) and also I tried to install the software automatically, but these two options did not work.)

  Please tell what should I do now?  Already, I went to the HP site and looked for these two materials for a update but had no luck...

  I have 2 laptops HP Pavilion... it runs very well, of a not so much. A person in the household must have messed up something, because on the Pavilion dv7 when I turn it on it says:

  POWER ON PAST on a screen that I do not usually see, it looks like a screen of type BIOS. If I hit ESC, it gives me a few options to do things, but it always ends up back to the POWER ON PASS. It's a blue rectangular box. Well, after 3 attempts (password attempts, I guess), it comes up with:

  When your computer turns on, you're always running of programs or are they shutdown?

  No, not just the 'W' note look you but the voltage and amps as well to determine if it will provide the load appropriate for your laptop. Then watch your underside of the laptop and there it will list power specifications, the adapter must have to work and turn on your laptop.

  I see that you have some problems starting your Pavilion. Do not wait until you see the message "Press ESC", press F8, press above all on several times to see if you can get to the BIOS before the error message. What other options you get when you go into the advanced settings?

• Intel storage driver sp46531

  Model two - Pavilion DV7 - portable hard drive

  by default, the storage driver intel - standard AHCI 1.0 serial ATA controller got installed (for IDE ATA ATAPI controllers).

  When HP automatic driver selection suggested to install intel storage driver sp46531, the laptop it picks up well and reading of data has been significantly faster.

  But my second hard drive disappeared from "my computer."    Worse, the "file search / indexing ' stopped.  could not find anything in appearance or Explorer.

  Windows search and services stpped - indexing when tried to start manually, stopped immediately.

  Found some have reported a similar problem with installing Intel storage driver.

  Uninstalled the storage driver Intel - Presto - everything has started to work well

  Hope Intel will take note and suply a new driver soon.

  I have a hp pavilion dv9925nr portable laptop, running windows vista Home premium, service Pack2.  cd/dvd driver is missing, its not even appears in the Device Manager to all, I tried to scan for it and no luck.   I know it works, I tried the fix it install and I've been in the registry and remove filters superiors, he showed no low filters.  I even put the computer back to factory settings and the dvd player worked fine.  the only thing that worked for a while was to uninstall the game fast and install the latest version and it was working fine but now after a few updates his party once again and now reinstall quick play does not work either.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

• Wireless NIC fail: no network detected

  I have two identical HP Pavilion G7, portable product #B5Z56UA #ABA, execution of Windows 8. Two nights ago, one of them stopped detecting my local WiFi network. I have 5 other devices that continue to detect & use the network wireless without problem, including the same model. The WiFi light is white (not in airplane mode). Cable connection works fine, but I need WiFi to work on it. Here's what I've tried so far:

  1. performance of the built-in Troubleshooting Wizard.

  2. update the Atheros, disabled/enabled the device driver.

  3. several reboots.

  4 downloaded the latest MS patches & updates the BIOS.

  5 spent an hour on live chat with an HP technician last night... He was no help at all and only told me to do the things that I've done and then he left on me.

  6. even tried a system restore to a point 3 weeks before.

  7. restarted the router & checked its configuration to ensure it was not blocking access.

  8. open the back cover of the laptop in order to ensure that the Atheros NIC is properly connected.

  So I don't think it's a problem with the software or drivers. As I said, it simply does not detect local, even if my laptop WiFi networks identical can pick up signals from LAN 3 in my neighborhood. Please help, or I'll have to go back to the store.

  HP sent a new wireless card. Atheros... I got it less than 24 hours after they said they would send it! I am of course very pleased with the quick action. I installed the spare part and the WiFi works again. The problem was a bad wireless NIC

  The video is soldered on the motherboard and there is no crack to add other types of video hardware.

  There are motherboards for the Pavilion 17 who have switchable graphics double aliases, but these models use a motherboard completely different than yours. You need to replace the motherboard and the system of cooling of the laptop and you look at maybe $ 400 for parts and labor. And the best video used in double graphics is only marginally better than what you already have.

  You do not have a hard drive 5400 RPM to very large, but slow to 1 TB and video editing can benefit a little faster hard disk access. I recommend either a SSD drive or even a faster drive (7200 RPM) mechanical or hybrid car to get a faster disk access.

  Laptops used for true high-end video editing are mobile workstation usually models that have a lot more than what you can get in quality video equipment consumer laptops and they start at around $2500. HP Z-book would be an example.

  All the compatible wireless adapters listed for your model in the manual are adapter single band and operates on the 2.4 GHz ONLY band.

  Go to Device Manager and expand network adapters. You will see the names and model numbers wireless adapter.

  If the suffix of the wireless card description ends in bgn, then this is the only map of a single band (2.4 GHZ). If it ends in abgn or agn, then this is a wireless card dual band (2.4 GHz/5.0 GHz).

  Computers in most portable consumer HP are equipped with single band card.

  You can use the dongle USB wireless adapter Alternatively.
