  I have a problem with this laptop that I got. He had Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) and has been reinstalled in Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit), and reinstall the drivers missing after.

  I have a HP Pavilion dv7 - 1177ca notebook with a Blu - Ray player and the player is not recognizing my Blu-Rays, it recognizes DVD but no Blu-Rays. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for it and no dice.

  Problem solved, I have to make the drive replaced.

  I think that HP RC1762307/01 is an IR transmitter. You need an IR receiver on you laprop. To find a receiver to match with the HP RC1762307/01 IR could be a challenge, because the receiver must know what are the commands from the transmitter.

When I place the disc bluray inside says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disk has been created in a way that does not support the player. "What should I do?   You need a licensed software in order to play a Blu - ray disc, WMP does not support this format.

  HP provides a version of Cyberlinks PowerDVD 10 - download the latest installer for it on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  Once the download is complete, open your downloads folder and double-click the installer for PowerDVD 10 start the installation.  Once done, see if your Blu - ray disc now plays OK in this software.
